IDEXX Neo

Pros: The ease of Neo, the look, the quickness of logging on. There was very little that we liked about the program, the integration with IDEXX bloodwork

Cons: The reports are very vague. Hard to do large animal clients, inventory is a NIGHTMARE! If you do any inventory on a regular basis - stay away from this as it will lead you to gray hair. Statements at end of month do not include any services/products - only invoice #, so you have to print lots of pages off.

Pros: Because we are a teaching facility, we wanted a system our students could access easily on campus and off, yet still have access to only certain portions of the system. The seamless flow both ways between Neo and the in house lab equipment was even better than anticipated. Very user friendly.

Cons: It would be nice if some documents were editable after a student completes them since they are learning still how to properly complete medical records. For instance, if they forget to complete an item on the anesthesia monitoring form it must be completely restarted. At the same time, not having an editable document is what is best in the real world.

Pros: Easy to use. Very user friendly and easy to train staff on.

Cons: I have no problems with Neo. Nothing negative I’ve come across.

Pros: Its easy to use for scheduling and reminders, and doing paperless transactions

Cons: Some of the accounting functions were not easy to navigate in the beginning and some of the reports have info that is not necessary. I would like to be able to pick what info I need in a specific report

Pros: I've used a lot of different software during my career and this is everything you need, nothing you don't. Very intuitive and user friendly.

Cons: I bought a practice with only paper records so initially implementing all our charges including inventory was tedious. But now its done and functions seamlessly.

Pros: It has been very easy to train new staff on this program and I like that fact of being able to suggest new ideas in improving the software. I feel like the users voices are heard.

Cons: Just that I wish that it would intergrate with more products, but I am sure that will change since it is a newer software.

Pros: Neo is easy to use and easy to train with, with a great support team, and you can send in enhancement requests.

Cons: Need more ability to customize procedure templates and appt reminders (by appt type)

Pros: The fact that it has a cloud backup automatically and that we are able to have our students play around to get the actual feel of what a software is like.

Cons: Have not experienced a real con just yet, still new to the software

Pros: Very easy to use software. I was dreading having to learn a new system but Neo made it easy!

Pros: I like that everything I need is at my fingertips. If a client calls and asks what medications my cat needs to be on. I can easily find the client by their name or phone number. Select what cat they are asking about. Go to the most recent clinical event and see what the doctor has written and explain to the client what the next steps are. I honestly could not do my job without this software.

Cons: What I dislike about it most is sometimes it's hard to send records if you don't follow the same exact steps every time it won't send what you need sent

Pros: Easy to use for new employees and the constant upgrade.

Cons: The financial side or back of the program needs to be able to create more data.

Pros: Ease of use and intuitive design allow rapid learning for new employees

Cons: Initial template design was minimal when the software was activated but I assume that it would be better today

Pros: The ease of use and being able to customize everything

Cons: It is a pain when it has issues or isn't working because then you can't do anything on it. I would say that is the biggest disadvantage.

Pros: I used this software for little over a year until changing to something else. Neo was very easy to use in regard to create medical records, collect payment and the benefit of being directly connected to Idexx Laboratories to order, view and share lab work

Cons: What I did not like about IDEXX Neo was the serious lack of sharing medical records capabilities, inability to put in prescriptions on the chart with refill capabilities.

Pros: Integration was fairly seamless. It's a clean looking schedule.

Cons: There are a lot of steps to schedule an appointment.

Pros: Idexx Neo is very easy to use and staff can learn to use it very quickly. Support is usually quick to solve issues/problems.

Cons: We have had idexx neo for about 3 years. I believe neo is good for a small practice or a new practice, not for a large or busy practices. There are really minimal integrations with 3rd party vendors. The reminder system leaves a lot to be desired. The inventory management is designed very poorly and reports at all levels is lacking. The controlled drug reporting is not designed well and NEO does not generate any cures reports (for states like California that require controlled drug reporting). When we initially signed up for NEO I was informed that CURES reporting was built in but it is not the case. I have been asking support about implementing this for years but have not gotten anywhere.

Pros: Cloud-based Nice interface User friendly

Cons: Needs more reports, ability to set up pharmaceuticals differently (if it will be sold in a bottle or in a pill to calculate the price automatically)

Pros: The cloud based software is user friendly and convenient. Buttons are easily found, and software has a very up to date appearance. Integrates well with Smartflow and Vet Cove. Easy to update inventory. Integrated credit card processing at reasonable rates. Can easily e-mail consultations, receipts and forms to owners.

Cons: Every part of the accounting needs work. It's impossible to accurately track A/R as payments are applied back to invoice dates and not the day they are actually paid. Financial tab is confusing as invoices are automatically generated for prepayments and not just a receipt. Records can not be e-mailed directly to veterinarians, and third party access does not allow them to access Smartflow sheets. Can have glitches

Pros: We like the ease of use to create a client/patient and schedule appointments. The new feature allowing us to see cancelled or deleted appointments has been a wonderful addition as well!

Cons: We dislike that some features are often changed that do not necessarily need to be changed. Also having a "no-show" option in addition to "Canceled or Deleted" would be very useful.

Pros: It is overall a super easy software to use

Cons: There are still bugs to work out but i think it has the potential to be a 10/10 product

Pros: I like the collect payments the best. Makes making payments easy

Cons: How the patient info is presented on each screen, and the quick access drop down

Pros: Having Neo definitely allowed us to continue and push through the pandemic curbside. The program slowed us to work remotely when needed.

Cons: The analytics that we had in cornerstone from a management standpoint were much better.
