good place to use for research studies of the type i was involved in
Pros: ease of access, ease of navigation, user friendly in allocating the stuy i needed for analyses and report
Cons: took some time if coming back after while to reset password if forgotten
Jan K. · consutant analyst · Health, Wellness and Fitness · February 19, 2025
Excellent, Castor made my data collection easy.
Pros: Castor is very easy to use for any study design. You can add and remove based on your Case Reporting Form or questionnaires
Cons: I did not take note but I would go for the data download process.
Lanre D. · PhD Student · Education Management · February 18, 2025
it is great so far. when I enter data it automatically saves. I can see the queries if there are pending. The survey status if patients have not yet completed their surveys. Even the ability to send surveys/questionnaires to patients is very convenient. I can see who last opened the patient's file. The ability to redacted documents that is helpful too. The authentication factor is easy to do, aside from security.
Pros: Ease of use. The tabs are clearly identified.
Cons: None so far maybe because this is the first trial we have on this EDC and not a lot of participants and not a lot of information to enter.

I have used Castor for 3 Research studies now. I enjoy using it, and find it's an easy system to access and learn.
Pros: Castor is an easy to access system and is clear and concise. The questions are clear and unambiguous.
Cons: The only issue I have is the time it takes to save a page before I can move onto the next. This may be more down to the hospital's IT systems.
Rachael A. · Research Nurse · Hospital & Health Care · February 18, 2025
It is a very good experience I will give 8 of 10
Pros: It is easy to use and clear. I like that I can see repeated forms and access monitoring section to see any outstanding queries.
Cons: The double authentication takes more time to access EDC

I love the ideas and thoroughly appreciate the detail.
Pros: The details requested with time stamps. The information and instructions are easy to understand.
Cons: Visually I feel formatting could be better. Sometimes I get overwhelmed otherwise it's doable.
lea m. · Technical Supervisor · Veterinary · February 15, 2025
In general, very useful and recommendable.
Pros: Castor EDC is very easy to use for filling out forms and sharing the data from those forms with different stakeholders.
Cons: What I like least about Castor EDC is its pop-up messages asking for a 'reason for change according to GCP practices' whenever I change an answer. I would like to suggest the following improvements: #1 – More time to make changes or the ability to come back and modify them at any time while still filling out the form. #2 – The option to come back and add more answers to a multiple-choice question while still working on the form (this is not a change to an answer but merely an addition of data). #3 – If I complete a form and later modify the contents of more than one question, the messages should be specific to each change rather than general for the entire page, since the reasons for each change might be different.

It is a Robust system, capturing all the necessary elements of the study. I didn't find it difficult to use.
Pros: Convenience and easy to navigate all the sections in EDC
Cons: The check box sections need to be more prominenet or made it in way that we can clearly identify that what to cross and what not tot cross
Sana A. · CRC · Hospital & Health Care · February 13, 2025
Overall, the experience was good. I would recommend CASTOR to other team members.
Pros: It was easy to access the database. It was not hard to comprehend or navigate the database.
Cons: I did not like that the section all combind together without break in between the topics. It was hart on my eyes.
Lori M. · Research coordinator · Research · February 13, 2025
I’ve been working with several EDC instruments and in Castor I’ve found an all in one tool with randomization, monitoring, high security level data storing, and a great flexibility to customize the eCRF.
Pros: The flexibility to customize the EDC intrument.
Cons: It is very expensive for independent researchers in middle income countries (I am from Argentina and after pandemic I couldn’t afford it).
Javier M. · MD · Hospital & Health Care · February 13, 2025
Pros: It is so easy and intuitive. When you start doing it, it doesnt take a lot to learn about it.
Cons: Nothing, i think the overall experience is good
Ruben F. · Medical doctor · Hospital & Health Care · February 13, 2025

Cons: Few repetitions but overall, acceptable.
Vennessa S. · Lead Research Nurse · Health, Wellness and Fitness · February 12, 2025
Great - given my regular use of databases or my job, castor is one of the top ones to use
Pros: It is very easy and user friendly. Clear layout of the database makes it easy to follow and use. The overall font size, helps visually as you do not need to scroll up and down allowing for overall viewing of the page.
Cons: I do not have any negatives opinions on castor
Ruth C. · Nurse · Hospital & Health Care · February 12, 2025
I use Castor on a daily basis. I have used multiple databases over the years and although not perfect, so far it is favourite.
Pros: I like how Castors looks and how easy it is to navigate
Cons: I don't like that tables are not recognised as being incomplete. Also, I use an Ipad to log in to castor most of the times and I am not sure that when I need to input numbers on multiple fields the keyboard doesn't stay in numbers and I have to constantly swap from letters to numbers.
Evita P. · Senior Research Nurse · Hospital & Health Care · February 11, 2025
Pros: I can edit without making error and its accessible easily without vpn .
Cons: didn't like it unfortunately since its not user friendly with a lot of repetition and similar texts.
Muna M. · CRC · Health, Wellness and Fitness · February 11, 2025
It has been a great overall EDC to work with.
Pros: I like that the EDC is very user friendly.
Cons: I have no significant complaints about the EDC. The EDC is simple, efficient and easy to use.
Valrie P. · Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator · Biotechnology · February 10, 2025
It was easy to navigate with no lag time or slowness to entering in data.
Pros: It was easy to navigate within the fields of Caster.
Cons: I didn't have to use the Caster system for a long period of time, therefore I didn't find anything that I didn't like about the platform.
