Thinkific is a learning management software (LMS) used by small businesses in e-learning and coaching to deliver structured online courses. It stands out for easy course setup and built-in authoring tools, plus recent updates like AI-driven learner re-engagement and a mobile app upgrade. There are no seat minimums, though the customization options may be limited, and support response times may be slower.

It’s been a very easy tool to get started with and use. I appreciate all the different types of digital products I can create.
Pros: Thinkific makes it super easy to launch your store and start selling digital products. I love the student facing part of the platform as well. It is very user friendly.
Cons: I do wish that it natively integrated with more email marketing platforms. I had to join Kit and couldn’t natively use my other platform to automate sending emails.

From start to finish with my course creation, it has been great for a person like me who is not very tech savvy! I Alison like the social hub set up for my cohort students!
Pros: Ease of course creation and adding downloadable PDFs. I also love the fact that thinkific has monthly payment options for my students!
Cons: Nothing really to be disappointed about with thinkific course creating abilities and lesson formation.

So far, so good. I am hopeful this will be a long term solution for our continuing education offerings to the public.
Pros: User-friendly interface. Online help almost always is able to answer any "how to" question that I have. Customer service is responsive.
Cons: Some functions are limiting - like the ability to delete drafts of webinars and communities. Doesn't make sense why they can't be deleted, as draft courses can be deleted.

A great experience overall as it is one of the simplest course builder platforms that has so many options for customizability yet is easy to navigate. I also love the changes and improvements with management course monetary success overall and over a period of time.
Pros: Still a go-to course builder that remains one of the best offering an even simpler interface for designing courses with recent updates as well as more opportunities for creating an immersive and communicative experience for everyone participating in a course. Mobile updates have also allowed for greater efficiency as so many more users are utilizing mobile phones more now so these have been critical changes that have kept it in the top tier for course builders.
Cons: The interface has greatly improved so now I would say just continuing to add more advanced features and functions that are easy to select are next areas of improvements I would like to see.

I am quite pleased with the many updates to the site since I started in November 2022. It has a cleaner interface not cluttered with overwhelm.
Pros: The thing I like most about Thinkific is the overall simplicity of creating your course. The help files' ability to walk me through every one of my problems or mistakes without needing to speak with a person is a real timesaver! The options for designs using the templates are versatile enough to create a beautiful course layout with almost any of the templates. Most of all—it is a good value for the cost.
Cons: I would like to see a better option on how the multiple courses are listed. A simple drag and drop image.

I like the system overall and am pleased to use it. I like how it gives you different options of how to organize the programs depending on your needs. It's nice to have documents for download imbedded in the system.
Pros: It's great to be able to create your own course on the platform. There is a lot of flexibility to have quizzes, summaries, or even upload documents that can be downlaoded.
Cons: Tracking the progress can be a little tricky as if you don't click the continue button, it won't register that you did the video. Also, there are a few times the video would lag.
Philip M. · Operations · Non-Profit Organization Management · December 18, 2025
There is a bit of reading and experimentation necessary. However it’s pretty intuitive to use once you have minimal editing skills.
Pros: One of the things I like is that I don’t have to know anything about coding for me to be able to make a website.
Cons: If I had to choose one it would be that the free option isn’t available. It gave me more options when creating courses.

An easy to use experience yet complex options and professional support these are what I get from think of definitely a good value for money
Pros: Before starting my online academy I looked at a number of options. I was looking for usability for someone who's never done programming for a webpage and the possibility to integrated it with live lessons. Thinkific did that and more: it made administration so much easier with the number of payment options available I also have very good experience with customer support they usually reply within hours
Cons: It's just my thing I guess but I really don't like that part of courses are called chapters and lessons are part of chapters could be confusing

’ve been using Thinkific to host a professional training program for the financial certification industry. The experience has been smooth and rewarding. The platform’s structure helps maintain a high-quality learning flow, and the flexibility to integrate videos, quizzes, and marketing elements makes it suitable for both institutional and individual learners. Overall, it’s a strong, dependable platform that continues to evolve with user feedback.
Pros: Thinkific delivers exceptional value for training providers. The platform is intuitive, reliable, and visually clean — ideal for building structured, professional courses. Their customer support team is one of the best I’ve experienced: fast, friendly, and genuinely proactive in solving issues. Uploading, organizing, and managing content feels seamless once you get used to the flow.
Cons: Some AI-powered enhancements could make course creation faster, especially when migrating or duplicating content across courses. The new AI landing page builder is visually nice but still limited in customization compared to the classic editor. A few automation options (like quiz imports or batch updates) would be great additions for power users.

I've had several similar experiences with companies like Thinkific. There's something about these platforms when they grow to a certain size, the personalized support gets lost to a corporate machine model that has no ability to focus on individual requests. They're one primary focus is MONEY. And yes, it's all about commerce at the end of the day. But if they don't deal with the end user as a human they have no place being in business. They deserve to be penalized for being an over priced money machine.
Pros: Customer support was great when I first began using Thinkific. Although there is no free account option publicly, I asked if they had a free plan and they set me up with one so I could test the features indefinitely because sites like this can take a while to learn. This was great! I had time to relax and tweak until I couldn't tweak any more!
Cons: It's virtually impossible to cancel a subscription! I tried closing my account by contacting support multiple times and they just don't get it! I disconnected my domain before closing the account leading me to not be able to access my account. I have contacted them several times and they just don't get it! I'm sorry - thinkific support has this coming - collectively they are dumb as tree stumps! Actually trees have more consciousness than Thinkific support. They deserved that... Maybe you'll listen more in the future! Next will be BBB.

Overall, it was a decent experience. Thinkific worked well when our needs were fairly simple — it’s reliable for basic course setup and delivery. But as things grew and we needed more advanced features and flexibility, it became clear that it wasn’t the right long-term fit for us.
Pros: It gets the job done if your needs are basic. It’s straightforward to use and handles core functions like organizing content, course creation and managing users, but it doesn’t go much beyond that - in my case.
Cons: As our needs evolved, Thinkific just couldn’t keep up. It’s fine for basic course delivery, but we eventually needed more flexibility and functionality than the platform could offer — which is why we decided to move on.
French H. · Program Director · E-Learning · October 10, 2025
Very positive. The next step for us to get our head around how to use the marketing tools, which were never part of our last platform. The payment and seamless link to our website has also been revolutionary for us.
Pros: It is incredibly easy to use. As a trainer with limited tech experience I have found it intuitive to use. I was previously with another e-learning platform and lost countless hours trying to work out how to get things to work.
Cons: The dark mode needed some tweaking to ensure the course was fully in dark mode. However, with the help of ChatGPT I was able to get some html code to fix the issue.

Our company was looking for a new LMS to manage our enablement offerings and Thinkific ended up being the best fit for us! We needed a platform that could easily manage both on-demand and live courses, and the course builder in Thinkific gave us the felxibility that we needed to scale. The customer success team was super helpful with helping us get up to speed and launched within a couple of months.
Pros: What stood out the most to us with Thinkific is the ease of use for the user and our admin team. We liked how we could easily rebuild our courses, but now have more flexibility when building new courses. We have found the building process to be easy with our current systems and editing old courses is rather smooth. We also liked the ability to move our old Slack Groups into a Community Group so we help encourage more conversations amongst our members.
Cons: One issue we had with the platform was the fact that our e-Learnings needed to be uploaded as multimedia files to meet a similar structure to how we used to manage our courses in our old system. Luckily we were able to work with the Thinkific team to use some custom code to ensure that students will navigate through the content properly. A small extra step is needed when we add in these materials, so that was a slight downside, but we are able to build that into our workflow.
Nina B. · Learning Experience Manager · Professional Training & Coaching · September 26, 2025
I find Thinkific's products user-friendly, look great and are easy to manage. Functionality like the Resource Bank makes it so much easier to build out resources that the modules link out too, so it's great to see it all working in the one system.
Pros: The products are user-friendly and the team is really easy to work with and quickly respond to requests or concerns.
Cons: Currently, the only way to mark courses as complete is by submitting a spreadsheet upload and it is quite manual and time consuming, considering we do this quite a lot. You also can't duplicate learning paths, which is quite frustrating for us and requires a lot of manual copying out.
Paisley W. · Instructional Designer · Program Development · September 23, 2025
My overall experience with Thinkific has been very positive. The platform is intuitive and reliable, making it easy to design, host, and deliver courses to a wide range of learners. I appreciated the flexibility it offered in structuring content, tracking learner progress, and integrating with other tools, which helped create a smooth learning experience. While there are areas that could benefit from more advanced customization and deeper analytics, I found Thinkific to be a strong, user-friendly solution that made online course delivery both accessible and effective.
Pros: What I liked most about Thinkific was its user-friendly interface and the way it allowed me to design and deliver courses without needing advanced technical skills. The platform gave me flexibility in structuring content, strong analytics to track learner progress, and reliable integrations that supported a smooth learning experience. I particularly appreciated how easy it was to customize the learner journey and maintain a professional brand look.
Cons: What I liked least about Thinkific was that, as with any growing company, there were times when priorities shifted quickly, which could make long-term planning a bit challenging. Still, I valued the open communication within teams, which helped us adapt and keep moving forward effectively.
Melina S. · Senior Comms Manager · Non-Profit Organization Management · September 23, 2025
Wouldnt recommend them to anyone. I would utilize the other platforms that are cheaper and have better reviews.
Pros: The servic was grewt but when we chose not continue with them we cancelled our membership. One yewr late they charged us again. They wouldnt tefund our money.
Cons: They stated it its their policy not refund anyone. Its never smart to choose policy over your customers satisication.
Andrew M. · Ceo · Events Services · June 20, 2025
Overall, I think that platform is mediocre at best. I can find what I'm looking for with a little searching. I just think it could be displayed in an easier format, with larger headings or different colors used for main headings of sections.
Pros: I like that you can incorporate different file types into the platform. There are videos, documents, schedules, quizzes, and other files that are all able to be used on Thinkific.
Cons: It is hard to view items and the way they are posted sometimes makes it hard to find what you are looking for. Also, I am unsure if I am supposed to mark items as "done" in order to complete the module or not.
Claire S. · Computer Science Teacher · Primary/Secondary Education · May 22, 2025
Loved it the entire time the company I work for hosted our programs on this platform and would return in a heartbeat if I could.
Pros: It was always very user friendly, both on the admin side as well as the customer side. It wasn't glitchy. Never had a complaint about functionality. Content organization was easy and linear. Uploading and organizing was also easy.
Cons: At the time we hosted our content there, it didn't have a community feature that it does now. If it were up to me, I'd return to Thinkific.
Rheannon R. · Customer Support and coach · Health, Wellness and Fitness · February 19, 2025
Their sales team is great at what they do, but that actual service and platform are unfortunately not good.
Pros: Easy to get set up and upload a course. It offers a wide range of features.
Cons: The features aren't customizable and some don't even work. Also terrible customer service. There has been a bug in one of their core features for almost a full month now, and customer service only sends templated responses with no details about when it will be fixed. Many of their features also don't allow for any customization, and the dashboard is not very easy to navigate.

Thinkific holds a very special place in my heart. At the time I was bootstrapping my business and the free version allowed me a launch pad.
Pros: This was the first site I used when I first started my coaching business. I was able to create landing pages for my first lead magnets with ease despite not having a clue what I was doing!
Cons: At the time, there were minimal options for designs I liked and I eventually grew out of it.

A super easy platform to launch your online teaching business and sell your expertise though unfamiliar with online learning experiences. Thinkific makes both affordable for entrepreneurs and enjoyable for learners as their varied tools and baffling features range from website builder and email automation to e-book creator and webinar planner; it is a world where you can easily start selling your experience, mainly due to the marketing and affiliate tools too.
Pros: A renowned platform built to deliver online courses, sell digital product and market personal expertise through webinars and conferencing facilities. Its robust features as website builder, landing pages creator and the bunch of add-ons to integrate for third party uses as blog posts, make Thinkific stand away from the crowd. Though a beginner, and in few clicks, you can customize your course, enrol students, create and sell e-books, start conferencing and many other unlimited features at low costs. Uploading data can go up to 2G, which is not found with other rivals.
Cons: Actually, so many users speak about bulk enrolment problems and some outdated features, particularly video players. honestly, I also did not like their support help and updates, everything is just general.
Mohamed C. · Lecturer · Education Management · December 21, 2024
Excellent. They are very responsive to any issues and have real experts answering the support questions.
Pros: So easy to get started. Adding creator content is simple and the designing aspect is also very intuitive.
Cons: The limitations to customize the course player. There are types of lessons, but other than that you are stuck using their templates.
Jacob F. · Senior Technology Administrator · E-Learning · December 16, 2024
It was good for what it was. Depending what all it is needed for it's a solid product
Pros: The price for the quality of performance.
Cons: Wasn;t able to do everything that I needed out of a software.
tonya B. · housekeeping supervisor · Hospital & Health Care · November 26, 2024
I did set up a course and everything worked as it should. I didn't feel it looked the way I wanted and so looked at other software.
Pros: They offered a generous trial period to try it out.
Cons: I found it hard to get something that looked professional in terms of design. Possibly didn't spend long enough or get the proper support, so may be my fault.
Duncan T. · Owner · Health, Wellness and Fitness · October 31, 2024
Pros: Ease of use, option to share certificates with students
Cons: Managing students is a little complex from the admin dashboard
