I’ve had a very positive experience with Teachable overall. It made it easy to create and sell online courses without needing a lot of technical knowledge. The course builder is simple to use, and I like that I can upload videos, PDFs, quizzes, and other resources all in one place. The platform also handles payments, student access, and basic marketing tools, which saves a lot of time. Overall, I would recommend Teachable to anyone who wants a straightforward way to launch and sell online courses. It’s especially great for solo creators, coaches, and small businesses because it makes the technical side of course creation much easier.
Pros: Pros: Very easy to set up and use, even for beginners Clean, user-friendly course builder with drag-and-drop features Includes helpful tools like quizzes, certificates, drip content, and coaching options Built-in payment processing and checkout pages make selling courses simple Good selection of integrations and marketing features like coupons, affiliates, and upsells
Cons: Cons: The lower-tier plans include transaction fees Design customization is somewhat limited compared to other platforms The community and email marketing features are fairly basic There can be a learning curve if you want to use all of the advanced features

I have used Teachable particularly for developing courses for adult, professional learners. As an asynchrnous learning platform, I have found that its interface, assignments, and participation and tracking data have been particularly useful, and students have found it to be a pretty seamless learning experience, as well.

Pros: Teachable is a solid learning management system that allows educators to easily set up courses with a variety of features. As an educator, I have set up asynchronous courses on Teachable, Canvas, and Blackboard, and I find Teachable's interface and course features the most intuitive. Beyond its user and content management interface, it allows you to include and track a range of assignment types. I find the way that it allows you to see info about student participation to be more useful than other platforms, as well.
Cons: I think that the way that Teachable sends student participation data and completion stats to other platforms--from Airtable to Salesforce to Wordpress--can be improved. I would also like it to more easily integrate with various web calendar apps.

Heres is my unpleasant experience! I was drawn in by a Teachable promotion offering 1 month free + 3 months bonus. After completing payment, my account was automatically placed on the Growth Plan, even though I signed up for the Standard Plan. The following month, I was billed USD 89 for the Growth Plan. I immediately downgraded to the Standard Plan at USD 29/month. The amount was successfully deducted from my debit card, yet Teachable claims the payment was declined. As a result, I’ve lost access to my account despite being charged. This experience has been extremely frustrating. The promotion felt misleading, and the billing and access issues have not been handled transparently. Teachable appears efficient at collecting payments but slow and unresponsive when it comes to resolving errors and delivering what was paid for. I’m sharing this as a caution to others—STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!
Pros: Easy to use software just like other software, i canot write over 100 words because this are just a basic software. you can get others that are more cheaper and honest. They are good on pulling a misleading promo so kudus to their dishonest marketing!
Cons: -Misleading Promo -Intentional Billing Glitches - Billing Fraud -Poor customer services, who doesnt know what they are talking about - Unreliable- said they will assist to fix the issue then she cannot do anything - I cannot access my account despite of paying for a plan and them taking my money!

Overall teachable is a great platform for course creators that already have a core audience to sale to but if you are new the price might be alot to swallow.
Pros: I love how easy and user-friendly the platform is. Its very easy to navigate and easy to upload couse content!
Cons: I dislike the cost of using the platform. I feel like its overpriced especially after having to pay a percentage of each sale I make.

We initially found Teachable to be a user-friendly and affordable platform for launching our course. It was particularly helpful in the beginning due to its ease of organizing course content and managing administrative tasks from the dashboard. However, as our community and platform grew, we eventually needed more advanced features that Teachable couldn't provide. Moving to another platform was the right decision for us to better serve our expanding needs. We also experienced some technical issues, but I'm sure those have been resolved by now.
Pros: Teachable was an easy to use platform to get up and going with our course originally. We felt like it was low cost to join which made it accessible to us when we were just starting out. It also made out course easy to lay out and organize. The admin management was easy to access and utilize form the dashboard.
Cons: We outgrew teachable and needed more features that we were able to find on another platform to better serve our growing community and platform. It was just the right move for us. We also had some tech issues, but I am sure that has long been resolved.

As one sells online courses and tracks learners, Teachable performs this effectively without hindering content optimization due to the long load time of large sales pages.
Pros: Teachable has also helped me to sell my courses with a built-in payment option which makes it easier to perform the transaction. The engagement overview gives me a good overview of the student progress tracking.
Cons: One of the common problems that I have had is that, at times, bigger sales pages can take too long to load.

Pros: The ability to add videos, quizzes, and downloadable PDFs to a course and publish it seemed natural to Teachable. The outlines and subtitle translations made by AI and improving accessibility to diverse learners across the world.
Cons: The slow backend syncing and the inability to sometimes access it because of the traffic was an annoying functional bug.

Overall they lack crucial tools for building a business. They are decent if you want to create a school for a hobby (I don't know the pricing compared to other options), but now that we grew our school to be a business, they are severely lacking (support, analytics, comments...)
Pros: Customer since late 2018, Teachable was at the time a simple tool to get your school online. Very happy at the time with the ease of setting up courses, embedding my videos, and answering students questions. Now I would NOT recommend it to anyone wanting to build a business.
Cons: Most important one : no support. No live chat, tickets are handled on an obscure in-house system where you have no idea if they saw your issue or when they will answer. When they answer, it's not even level 1 support, it's "have you looked at the knowledge base ?". Yes, if I have an issue impacting thousands of students, I tried every solution I could before attempting to communicate with you and knowing it will take at best 4 days before being able to explain the issue to someone who will understand it. 2nd most important : Extremely weak analytics. For example you cannot filter your student base with more than 1 course. They literally cannot show you the list of students in course A & course B. You have to download the CSV and tinker yourself. This is another weak point when you're trying to build a business. 3rd most important : Comment management is weak. If you want to sell courses where the teacher will answer student's questions, good luck to you. You cannot easily filter/sort the comments,

I’m requesting immediate release of the funds and a formal response explaining the cause of the delay. This is unacceptable behavior for a financial platform, and it’s created severe consequences for my business.
Pros: Teachable has been holding over a month’s worth of my business revenue without releasing the funds, providing any valid reason, or even responding to my messages. I've reached out multiple times via email and their support portal, and have been completely ignored.
Cons: This lack of transparency and communication has directly impacted my business operations — I’ve missed payroll, delayed services to clients, and lost significant revenue. Teachable’s platform gave no warning of potential fund holds, and their total silence has made it impossible to resolve the issue.

Very positive. I have helped make courses on Teachable and also taken courses created on Teachable as a student and my experience on both sides has been very positive. It is very easy to navigate as both a creator and as a student.
Pros: I absolutely love how easy the Teachable interface is to navigate but also how visually appealing it is for both the initial set-up of a course but also the final product.
Cons: A little bit less engagement/activity options offered compared to other course development platforms.

It was good as a start. I was comfortable until I needed different content creation course/coaching organization.
Pros: As a LMS, I really value the option of creating coaching sessions, memberships and courses. This is one of the big PROs of the platoform. The interface is very friendly (important to content creation) and it was comfortable to use for students
Cons: The limits. The number of courses and the number of teachers didn't allow me to create a school the way I wanted to. It was not scalable enough if you plan to mix subscriptions, coaching mentorings, 1:1 sessions, with private areas for individual students, etc.

The most affordable online platform to host courses and coaching sessions at low costs and some basic features that range from content creation to email automation, and from building assignments and quizzes to analytics and reports. Though Teachable is less appealing compared to its rivals, Kartra for instance, it still claims to make the learning experience rich and easy to navigate on learners' portal: you can upload all that you see appropriate for your course completion.
Pros: Teachable is best known for its very few clicks to launch your online school and start selling your expertise almost without any prior knowledge of building sites, blogging, creating courses along with their diverse content. As an admin, you have it all to tailor your content, analyse the progress of your sales and business, get connected with your learners and other communities and much more. yet, I like it best for its rich features when it comes to building courses, particularly quizzes, certification and user-friendly dashboard.
Cons: Though basic and cheap compared to its rivals, some features are really useless like email automation. Teachable claim to have some marketing features like landing pages or sales builders; the fact that makes a host of courses, no more. One more thing, their transaction rates are really insane.

déçue, passez directement par Gohighticket
Pros: Zéro support service, ça fait 2 mois que mes paiements n'ont pas été versé.
Cons: Support clients, 3 tickets en 3 semaines, zéro réponses et les fonds ne vous arrivent pas.

My academy created on Teachable was deleted today without any reason. I paid over 1000 euros for the annual plan a few months ago, and I’ve spent several months creating and optimizing it. Today, when I try to access the link to my homepage, I get the message: "This page does not exist. Sorry :( Error 404" This situation is completely unacceptable, and I demand to be contacted immediately and without delay so that this issue can be resolved.
Pros: Nice looking and quite simple to use for the basic stuff
Cons: Customer Support wasn't able to help most of the times I contacted them
Jacopo P. · Sig. · Sports · October 16, 2024
They do not let you clone individual lessons and so this is so tedious. Their login system is so difficult it breaks and their emails are no reply. that tells you everything.
Pros: It was affordable and has adequate features to train people.
Cons: They have horrible customer support. i have never been able to get into a music course that I purchased from them. I am currently unable to access another course I have purchased and a week and no response. I am disgusted by them.
Gavin T. · Training · Information Services · August 22, 2024
It was excellent until it got too expensive. I didn't want to switch.
Pros: The user interface and ability to track students on ever level.
Cons: How much the charge for enrolled students, per month - even if the students aren't actively taking a course.

My experience was Teachable was good, but the price I found a stickler knowing that their roadmap for improvements was slow. This ultimately drove me to try out the competitor. I still have the free tier, in the event I want to go back one day. Which I may, it depends on pricing and roadmap.
Pros: I bought it at the beginning of the pandemic in spring of 2020. At the time it was best in class.
Cons: The aesthetics, after so many years, for there to be no improvement here, I find unforgivable.
Nicole S. · Owner · E-Learning · May 25, 2024
I really enjoyed it, although setting up pages was a bit frustrating. I left because I needed a platform were I could grow with an affordable PRO plan. Nowadays, I could recommend many platforms that offer more consistent plans, from Patreon to Learnworld, Freshlearn etc.
Pros: Seemed easy to set up and discount. Many competitors were more expensive. in 2020 there weren't many similar platforms.
Cons: Raising cost and removal of features from plans. Customer support became rare. AfterI downgraded from Pro to Basic, I lost access to the "Founders" community which was the best part of Teachable, as you feel very supported by other founders.

Pros: La facilidad de uso además de tener todo listo para subir tu primera lección. No hay excusas, Teachable te ofrece casi todo para comenzar.
Cons: Poca o escasa personalización de la plataforma.
Alex M. · Freelance · Marketing and Advertising · January 7, 2024
Good, except for the payment platform.
Pros: It is easy to set up online courses. the templates and editing platform are easy to use.
Cons: Although Teachable is a no-payment platform, they make their money when you sell a course. The payment can take weeks to reach my bank account.
Anonymous User · owner · Photography · October 3, 2023
At first...steady. Until all work, time and design disappeared with no "save draft," or return to last edit, etc.
Pros: Ease-of functionality at first...it appeared to address our marketing plan
Cons: Were not able to save work-in-progress...then, the surprise! Lost hours of work.
Anonymous User · Principal · Education Management · September 14, 2023
Pros: Overall, my experience has been great. I started using with Free plan, it's is super easy to use for non techy. This is the best for course creators who have >=5 course. Resources are really helpful.
Cons: Sometime getting system errors (slow), expensive but anyone can start with Free or Basic plan.

Overall, my experience has been positive. I've created 4 courses on the platform so far.
Pros: Teachable makes it easy to put your online course(s) up for sale without having to worry about separate video hosting or payment processing. You also don't have to worry about managing customer logins to your own website for security since all that happens on Teachable's system. It's easy to upload content and create your curriculum, and it's nice that you can start with a pre-made template for sales pages and checkout pages, rather than having to create all that from scratch.
Cons: If you're not making many sales, it can be hard to justify the ongoing monthly expense. The login system is surprisingly frustrating and confusing, especially if students have enrolled in previous courses or if you yourself have enrolled in other Teachable-hosted courses. At one point I had 10+ logins, but I've slowly been able to consolidate those under one master account.

The customer service team was helpful but limited by account types and functionality available.
Pros: Our team started using this tool as our primary learning management platform during Covid. We work across multiple school sites, the csv learner upload worked well for us in making the quick transition to fully remote. The platform is relatively straightforward to build within but leaves much to be desired for customization and accessibility.
Cons: The lack of customization and the limits within the account types constrained our team and ultimately led us and several of our partners to switch to Articulate 360 and Searchie.
