Overall, I find Schoology to be easy to use and like that almost all that you need is on one screen right in front of you.
Pros: I like Schoology because it can be used from grades K-12 and it has everything you need for keeping parents informed.
Cons: The problem I find I encounter the most is it looks as though a student has not turned in an assignment, but they have and it wasn't graded yet.

Schoology has been integral in our district for years. It's simple to copy-forward courses each year.
Pros: The LockDown Browser enabled secure testing within the app. We have wrestled with other options at a device level and the in-browser version is great. There are some really good integrations to other systems as well.
Cons: It seems like it isn't maintained as well as the rest of the PowerSchool options. I fear that Schoology may not be supported over the long haul.

My overall experience with Schoology was great! I never had any issues navigating the system and everything was straight-forward. I can easily find my grades, assignments, modules, and instructor information. A person really only needs about 15-20 minutes to understand the system layout. The only downfall is when there would be software issues with uploading assignments.
Pros: The main aspect I enjoyed the most about Schoology was layout design of the software. It was very simple to navigate between classes and assignments. It was also very simple to upload assignments and view the instructor feedback. I never had any issues with security so I never had to contact customer support.
Cons: The only issue I came across while using Schoology is sometimes bugs and issues would happen. There would be times I couldn't upload an assignment due to the software. This issue was easily resolved by contacting the teacher; which they spoke with customer support and figured out the issue.

My child's school did not use it long, and adapted a new software, so I maybe used it a year and a half.
Pros: All my kids' communications about school in one location! All school records and conversations in one place.
Cons: Organization through the software opens more windows, if you do not have the app, and can be confusing.

I have worked as an EdTech for 3 years at a district that uses schoology as our LMS. I help teachers get onboarded each year and help them set up their gradebooks and courses. I also offer training on new features. I've had a very positive experience and find our representative to be great to work with.
Pros: Schoology is a great LMS that has the ability to post a variety of advanced coursework yet has an icon heavy easy to read navigations for young learners. Our district switched to standards based grading and we were able to make a customized gradebook with proficiency scales for standards in schoology. We also love the options for discussion boards and annotations in courses in schoology.
Cons: It is easy for teachers to share resources with students but not so much between teachers. They can create groups where the post materials for each other to use but there's not the google drive equivalent of "make a copy" for course or other larger material. Teachers end up recreating content from others that could easily be duplicated.

This learning management system is average at best, but I definitely do not recommend it as a top option. The UI is completely out of date and the site is overall unreliable.
Pros: Schoology provides a mobile app that allows you to view grades, access class resources, and turn in assignments as you would on the web. Additionally, it allows users to single sign on with their school Gmail account, which reduces the need for passwords.
Cons: The UI is generally out of date and the mobile app is definitely not the most user friendly. Additionally, the site doesn't allow you to remove parents associated with students and delete those accounts once you no longer want to check their grades. Also, the site errors out a lot when trying to submit assignments or take tests or quizzes.

It gets the job done, but there are better LMS products around, especially from an aesthetic viewpoint.
Pros: It works; it is reliable and doesn't typically run into bugs or other issues. It has a decent amount of customization as well.
Cons: It's very ugly; compared to some other common LMS products, it looks clunky and old-fashioned. It also feels like it is not as robust as some other systems.

It was what I used routinely for summer school because it was free to use for teachers. We are now a Goofle school, so I haven’t used it in a couple of years.
Pros: The ability to recreate a class with ease and hide/unhide assignments makes the school year a breeze to organize!
Cons: Really nothing of note! In the past, the limit to word docs would have been a hindrance, but it is no longer the case and it seamlessly works with Google apps.

Pros: Being able to post assignments that are easily viewable by students
Cons: You should change the fact that websites that are linked automatically open in Schoology

My overall experience was good. I think Schoology has many great qualities, but this appears to differ based on what level the district purchases of this platform. I also like that Schoology provides a central location for assignments, course materials, etc. It also allows parents to access class assignments and their student’s grades.
Pros: I liked the ability to have grades, assignments, and course materials on one platform.
Cons: Schoology was not as user friendly as other platforms such as Google Classroom. You could also only attach 1 link or doc at a time.

Overall, it is a good experience. While there is a small learning curve, it is easy enough to navigate and find what you need quickly and efficiently.
Pros: Being able to see all assignments due and coming up.
Cons: Sometimes the user interface isn't the most clear.

I was satisfied with the small amount of time I used Schoology as it was predominantly just used for a space for the student to have learning material.
Pros: Easy to use, clear layout, could add links to microsoft sway previous learning material.
Cons: There was space for learning material, but from my time in using it there wasn't any space for overly interactive learning activities.

Pros: Schoology interested well with other educations platforms.
Cons: There are so many working parts that it can be overwhelming at first.
Emily R. · Teacher · Education Management · November 20, 2024
It was easy to get to learn as an educator. I used a few tutorial videos available online and did not have formal training.
Pros: I liked how easy it was to set up multiple classes. It was a great platform for students, they could easily figure out how to find and submit assignments.
Cons: I found it hard to communicate with students in that they didn't seem to get alerts. Also, there wasn't much in the way of customizing your site.
Jessica C. · Teacher · Education Management · November 18, 2024
Easy to use for admin and students. No communication with the platform for assistance but didnt need this either.
Pros: It had a free version that offered alot of features
Cons: It was very american based and didnt cater well to the NZ system of education (levels etc)
Salina M. · Director · Higher Education · November 16, 2024
Schoology is a great platform for uploading videos and other learning materials. With Schoology I can create folders to quickly access and organize material. It is so helpful to have everything in one place for both students and teachers.
Pros: Schoology makes it easy to create different types of quizzes and tests, and makes grading even easier.
Cons: The automatic grading would mark answers wrong if there was any spacing or punctuation differences, requiring me to edit the incorrect answers.
Laura D. · Medical Coder · Hospital & Health Care · October 26, 2024
Extremely positive. The program works well.
Pros: I like the way quizzes and test can be created.
Cons: It is difficult to create new quizzes and assign them to multiple classes

My overall experience with Schoology has been amazing. My students and I use Schoology every single day. It's part of the curriculum.
Pros: Schoology has made my teaching life so much easier. I have used many different grade book apps/websites for over 15 years. Schoology is by far the best I've ever used. It's very easy to learn the ins and outs. I like that I can easily contact my students/parents if a problem arises. I have found it beneficial that students can view their current grades and see if they have any missing assignments. One of Schoology's best features is that you can import assignments through Blackbook. It will then grade students' responses automatically. It gives you the ability to create your assignments, edit previous assignments, and has a section where you can save every assignment over the years. Its made my life much easier since our county integrated Schoology.
Cons: I can't think of any cons except if you click through different pages too quickly it will give you an error. But this does not affect the overall quality of Schoology.

My overall experience with Schoology has been extremely positive. We used to use another program for recording students' grades. Once we merged everything over to Schoology, my job got a lot easier.
Pros: This allows me to keep grades for all of my students easily. Schoology gives educators the ability to create assignments that automatically grade student responses. One great benefit of using Schoology is that it allows students and parents to stay current on overall grades.
Cons: It takes a bit to get used to using Schoology. But after a few days of messing around on the website, you can easily use the program.
Parker W. · Educator · Education Management · September 12, 2024
It was an all-in-one app, because anything that you could possibly need as a student in an online school setting, it is so reliable and easy to use. I am also notified when I have a test or assessment that I need to do. I also love that I can see and track my scores and progress in my course.
Pros: Schoology was used when we transitioned from face-to-face to online classes. At first, since I was a first-time user, I thought it would be so hard to navigate since I am not tech-savvy. I also thought it would be so intimidating and complicated, but it proved me wrong. It was indeed beginner-friendly and very easy to use for students and even professors.
Cons: I have honestly nothing against Schoology because it was one of the biggest help I had when I transitioned from face-to-face classes to online classes.

Pros: I like the badges. I like I can upload assignments and see student work.
Cons: Wish that I could get it to work with Powerschool
Sara B. · Teacher · Education Management · May 21, 2024
I love this app it keeps me on track of what needs to be done so my child's grades can improve.
Pros: I like that it is easily accessible and user friendly.
Cons: I least like that it takes a while to load the grades.

We like it! It serves our needs and helps us build a good learning community!
Pros: Ease of use. Student portal works cleanly. Ease to move from one class to another. Lots of choices for adding different types of questions to assessments. Easy to organize.
Cons: It would be nice to have more options for displaying content. We have found some work-arounds in adding a few variations to the straightforward listing style, but it isn’t easy. It would be nice to be able to add some flair.

I LIKED THE PROPOSAL OF HAVING MY AGENDA ORGANIZED BUT IN GENERAL I CANNOT PERFORM THE TASKS BECAUSE IT HOLDS UP ALL THE TIME
Pros: I LIKE THE PROPOSAL TO MAKE MY AGENDA MORE ORGANIZED FOR WEEKLY SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
Cons: IT HAS A LOT AND I CAN'T GET ACCESS TO WHAT I NEED
