Overall, my experience with Iru has been positive. It provides solid visibility over assets and licenses and significantly reduces manual tracking efforts. It is particularly useful in structured IT environments where compliance and reporting are important. With continued improvements in usability and integration flexibility, it has strong potential to become even more competitive in the IT asset management space.
Pros: What I appreciate most about Iru is its ability to centralize asset and license management in a clean and structured way. The automation capabilities are very useful, especially for IT environments with multiple servers, virtual machines, and different licensing models. It helps reduce manual checks and improves visibility across infrastructure. The dashboard is intuitive, and reporting features are particularly helpful for audits and compliance reviews. Alerts and notifications also provide good operational awareness. Customer support has been responsive and technically competent when needed.
Cons: Some advanced configurations require a bit of initial learning, especially when integrating with external systems. The UI could be slightly improved in terms of customization and filtering options for larger environments. Occasionally, documentation could be more detailed for complex use cases.

Overall it's a great product suite, and now really the only option I would consider for Apple device management.

Cons: Occasionally we have issues with vulnerability alerts not clearing correctly after patches have been applied. The support team can usually help to resolve these issues, but hopefully over time we'll see fewer occurrences in the first place.
Richard O. · Director of Platform and Security · Financial Services · April 23, 2026
It was smooth and effective. Once onboarded we needed very little support as it was all really easy to self manage
Pros: I like the simplicity of management of the platform and the ability to quickly manage device updates and changes
Cons: There isn't anything about the software that we disliked. Once the profiles are set up at the beginning, rolling them out to each device is very straight forward.
Ryan M. · CEO · Cosmetics · April 20, 2026
Pros: How well it works with Apple environment. Great ready made features. Responsive customer support and patch management. Very good device management functions.
Cons: Migration is difficult, but it was largely because of our previous MDM that controlled totally the profiles.

I was looking for a good MDM solution to manage all my macOS devices and Iru does a fantastic job. It allows me to manage the devices, deploy and enforce applications, apply group policies, wipe, DEP, and bypass any personal end user activation locks. Setup and deployment is very easy and pretty easy to learn to administor. UI is clean, modern, and easy to navigate.
Pros: The overall UI interface is simple and modern. Enrolling macOS devices either manually or through ABM/ADE/DEP is very straightforward and works as expected. Device management when enrolled is great. You get device details, ability to send MDM actions, and deploy apps automatically or through its self service app is very useful.
Cons: You can't manually clear/mute device alerts. You have to somehow physically remediate or resolve the issue before the alert is cleared. They also charge you in batches of 25 devices/licenses only.
David N. · IT Operations Manager · Marketing and Advertising · March 26, 2026
Pros: Things are easier to manage now since they've rolled out assignment maps. My experience using Iru has been great.
Cons: On others MDM's like Jumpcloud, it's easier to push a script to a single machine. Having something like that on Iru would be good.
Jeremy V. · Information Systems Administrator · Financial Services · March 19, 2026
It has made our device management much more professional and smooth. We are using it to give our employees a smoother onboarding.
Pros: It's a really good tool for managing all of our company devices. It's user friendly and has great support.
Cons: It is difficult to remove Iru from laptops once installed. It makes the offboarding of devices cumbersome.
Søren U. · Director of Operations · Information Technology and Services · March 17, 2026
My overall experience with Iru has been very positive. I use it frequently and enjoy working with it. The interface is clear and easy to understand, which keeps the learning curve low. Value for money is solid given the quality of the product and the responsive customer support. The ease of use is one of its strongest points, and device and client management features work reliably. The main area for improvement remains the activity/audit log and its filtering capabilities.
Pros: What I like most about Iru is the intuitive user interface, which makes daily work straightforward and efficient. On top of that, the support team is impressively responsive and knowledgeable — issues get resolved quickly, which is a huge plus.
Cons: The activity log remains a significant weak point. It is very difficult to search through — there is no simple way to filter by keyword or by user. For example, if an admin performs an action in the console, you often cannot find any trace of it in the activity view. This makes auditing and troubleshooting unnecessarily cumbersome.

IRU helps us centralize the management of our Apple devices and automate many tasks that would otherwise require manual configuration. This reduces the time spent on device setup, software deployment, and policy enforcement. As a result, our IT team can manage devices more efficiently and ensure that all machines stay compliant with our security and configuration standards.
Pros: IRU has been a solid solution for managing Apple devices in our organization. The platform is intuitive, easy to deploy, and the automation features make device configuration and maintenance much more efficient. The interface is clear and policies can be applied quickly, which saves a lot of time for IT teams. Documentation and resources are also helpful when setting up new configurations.
Cons: That said, some advanced customization options could be a bit more flexible. Overall, it’s been a very positive experience and a good choice for organizations looking to simplify Apple device management.

Iru is a lifesaver for our Mac fleet. The Auto Apps and Blueprints make deployment a breeze, as well as integrating more apps through ABM
Pros: Iru is a total lifesaver for our Mac fleet! The Auto Apps feature saves me hours on patching, and the Blueprints make deployment incredibly smooth.
Cons: The alerting system a bit noisy; you can't easily bulk-ignore alerts for apps that users installed manually before onboarding. Lastly, while the 2026 rebrand to Iru added Windows/Android support, those features still feel a bit "lite" compared to the deep macOS controls we’re used to.

Pros: This is one of the most intuitive MDM solutions I’ve ever used. Unlike other MDM solutions, it required very little training, and we were up and running in a matter of days.
Cons: It would be much better if the Threats and Vulnerability modules were included in the main package, rather than offered only as additional add-on modules.
Chaz V. · Infrastructure Engineer · Hospitality · March 10, 2026
I've been working for about four years, and honestly, I don't have much to complain about, but some changes, sometimes, are not so welcoming.
Pros: It is a very easy tool to use; I've never had a bad experience or downtime from the platform itself. The support team is also great.
Cons: The auto app library is still not big enough. Also, some features are just unlocked if you hire the endpoint detection services. The change from blueprint to assignment map is also not great, since there are some small things you can do with blueprints that are not available on maps.
Vitor P. · IT Manager · Marketing and Advertising · March 3, 2026
Very positive, we'd recommend Iru to anyone whether they are standing up an MDM for the first time or migrating from another.
Pros: We came from a popular Mac-focused four-letter MDM and have really enjoyed the Iru platform. Customer support is night-and-day easier, the product is more than capable for our enterprise compliance needs, and you don't feel like the product is getting worse+costing more due to private equity ownership.
Cons: I do wish there was more enablement with custom needs. Anything that requires a script to run, support is hands-off.
Greg S. · IT Manager · Health, Wellness and Fitness · February 19, 2026
iru is a fantastic product. its simple and quick. user friendly to users and admins alike, Iru combines great UI with a high technical ceiling to get companies enabled, deployed, and engaged.
Pros: I love how easy it is to use and how quick the tool is to deploy. the self service options are fantastic for our employees as well.
Cons: i really wish it had a remote manager/ remote access feature. this is something that can really push a lot of admins to buy the software. additionally, i wish there were more intermediate app deployment options for users and an ability to notify a user when they have a new blueprint or app. finally, i wish they had better custom PPPC configuration options on mac.
Trevor C. · IT Admin · Computer Software · February 12, 2026
I would recommend this product to any company using MacOS. We moved from using Intune from MacOS devices to Kandji with a focus on security and have not looked back. The Onboarding was exceptional with knowledgeable staff able to assist us with our initial blueprints and configurations. When things have not worked or we have required support the support team and really responsive and resolve issues fast. Overall this is a product i would not be without.
Pros: Simplified the Process of Management of MacOS devices for a team that was more windows based. Onboarding was really quick and easily with excellent hands on support. Support response and resolution times are really good too. The whole product is intuitive and easy to use.
Cons: Alerts and clearing alerts is a pain. We see some alerting for some devices where through for example apps are already deployed before onboarding and the software can not be installed. It would be really nice if these could be cleared easily or "ignored" in the UI.
Richard M. · Techncial Operations Lead · Computer Software · February 12, 2026
Our overall experience has been very positive. Iru has simplified our device management significantly. The combination of ease of use, responsive support, and the move toward a truly cross-platform solution makes it a reliable choice for our team. We are very satisfied with this solution.
Pros: The platform is incredibly user-friendly and intuitive. What I value most is their expansion into Windows management, allowing us to bring all our devices under one "roof." Additionally, the admin support is top-notch—having a direct chat right inside the application makes getting help extremely fast and efficient.
Cons: Currently, the Windows management side doesn't offer all the features we need just yet compared to the macOS side. However, seeing their development pace, I am confident that these missing features will be implemented in the near future.
Marek P. · Senior Manager, Technical Operations · Information Technology and Services · February 11, 2026
My overall experience with Iru has been positive. Its ease of use makes handling daily tasks straightforward and efficient, allowing me to focus more on the work itself rather than managing the tool.
Pros: I particularly liked how easy Iru was to use. The interface is clean and intuitive, which made day-to-day tasks straightforward and efficient. In addition, the customer service was responsive and helpful, making it easy to get support when needed.
Cons: The built-in AI features were the least useful aspect for me. While the idea is promising, in practice they didn’t add as much value as expected and felt limited compared to how I would ideally like to use AI within my workflows. I also found the lack of built-in remote support to be a drawback, as this is something other platforms offer and can be very useful for day-to-day support.
Ricardo R. · I.T. Administrator · Computer Software · February 10, 2026
Overall, Iru is our go-to for security and it's quite dependable as we do not have to worry about identity theft or any form of insecurity. It's quite compactible with other applications.
Pros: Our Iru application is a must for our team's applications and security. Now, we do not have to worry about identity theft or data compromise.
Cons: At the moment, Iru is working quite well for the team and it seems to do beyond our expectation. However, application update requirements of accompanying apps is quite demanding.
Adewale S. · HIO · Health, Wellness and Fitness · February 9, 2026
Pros: Iru is easy to understand and use, even as a non-IT person leading IT. The interface is clean and approachable and most core workflows are intuitive. It provides good visibility into devices and security status without feeling overly complex, which makes it easier to manage day to day.
Cons: Some important actions are not immediately easy to find. Key functionality can be hidden in dropdowns or secondary menus (for example, erasing a device), which can slow things down. Navigation could be improved to surface commonly used or high-importance actions more clearly.
Thomas F. · VP People and Talent · Legal Services · February 3, 2026
Exceptionally positive. From first onboarding, their support and engineering team have been reachable, knowledgeable, and so so kind and helpful. Their product team is innovative, and are adding the features that I as am administrator want to see. And when they do roll out totally new functionality like they have done somewhat recently with EDR, with vulnerability management, and with cross-platform device management - it is EASY to show my executive team why moving to Iru for those needs is the right choice.
Pros: The first thing that drew my organization is was an MDM provider that is focused first and foremost on supporting our Apple-based ecosystem of devices - and Iru from day one has excelled at that. But as time has gone on and we have remained extremely happy customers, the platform has expanded to meet not just our Apple device management needs, but now cover our EDR needs, our vulnerability reporting, management for the few windows and android devices in our fleet - all while remaining easy to use, easy to navigate to where we need to go quickly, and constantly adding new quality of life features. They are committed to growth, not just into new sectors or categories - but to growing the product to make my job as an administrator using their tools easier and more effective.
Cons: give me D A R K M O D E please. I love your platform and the only thing that would make me love it more would be avoiding the flash bang of loading into my Iru dash from other white-on-black interfaces
Topher O. · IT Manager · Computer Software · January 31, 2026
Its been good. We spend very little time maintaining our macs or worrying about them. The price makes it attractive to stay with.
Pros: Iru is simple to deploy and and maintain. Its a great tool if you have very little mac experience and need something straight forward for deployment. Lots of out of the box configurations that require little to no coding experience. The price is also a great value.
Cons: The biggest thing Iru doesnt have is Remote Control. We don't like that we have to buy a second tool to fill this gap. If you are an experienced Mac Admin and have been using tools like Jamf for a long time, you might find it frustrating to use because it just does a lot of things automatically. If you like granular configurations, Iru's simplified approach takes some getting used to and comfortability with having less control. Ive heard the servers only exist in the US, might make it a problem for global companies (something to investigate).
Joe C. · Sr. IT Manager · Hospitality · January 30, 2026
Pros: Easy to use to deploy standardized configurations, prevent configuration drift, and keep applications up to date.
Cons: No real downsides for us. Iru's Windows support is newer, which may be a downside to some organizations.
Scott M. · CISO · Financial Services · January 30, 2026
Overall, our experience with Iru has been positive. It’s a solid solution for managing and securing macOS devices, and it’s been reliable for our day-to-day needs. Support has also been responsive when we’ve needed help.
Pros: Iru makes it easy to manage our macOS devices without a lot of overhead. Enrollment is smooth, policies are straightforward to configure, and the interface is easy to work with day to day. It does what we need without getting in the way.
Cons: Pricing can be a bit high as the environment grows, and some advanced features take a bit of time to fully explore, but nothing that has been a blocker for us.
Nabil N. · IT IS Manager · Information Technology and Services · January 28, 2026
Pros: Very happy with Iru; it’s been reliable, efficient, and a noticeable improvement in how smoothly our device management workflows run
Cons: Logging into Apple Business Manager just to retrieve and deploy apps often turns into an unexpectedly tedious and time‑consuming process, especially when roles, tokens, or permissions get in the way.
Jeremy N. · System Admin · Automotive · January 28, 2026
As a SOC 2, certified company, it helps us manage device profiles, EDR, and required apps across the organization, making the audit process much easier.
Pros: What I appreciate is how it simplifies device management across the organization, with different profiles designed specifically for Mac devices.
Cons: One downside is that with the new interface, it’s no longer easy to see how many devices are available under our plan.
