Overall for just the NCM, the price you pay you do get a lot of features to help you automate your network infrastructure.
Pros: The price and the ease of use. The product has an easy to read GUI. Getting device backups and adding initial credentials is very easy so you can get up and running quickly. Support has been very helpful and are willing to spend the time to get what you need completed. Management of the network is quick and your data protection is taken seriously.
Cons: It uses it's own modified version of Java for it's configuration scripts. I wish that would be a more know language like python. Some of the navigation pages are a bit "glitchy". Like resizing a dashboard or a popup window will actually tail off the bottom of the page.

Pros: Simple to use there is very little time needed in knowing the product to get started, value for the money. Almost, I haven't seen a defect in the product to call the customer support.
Cons: We attempting to login into NCM using 2MFA from chrome browser, cache or cookies saves the previous passcode. I get passcode validation failure. It would be a easier to use instead of entering the passcode from 2MFA during login, DuO accepts a push notification from the user.

It is straightforward to use, easy to manage, saves time with automated config across multiple devices, and a great backup and restore tool! It is a great value for money. Customer Support is always on point as well.
Pros: The backup of network nodes and script automation to deploy the same configuration across multiple devices seamlessly.
Cons: The only issue and difficulty during the deployment was with integrating Huawei network devices for backup and automation.

Overall, it is very easy to use, customer service is very quick responsive. It is also a cost-effective tool especially for organizations needing compliance and audit trails.
Pros: The most part is like is the automatic configuration back up. Secondly, you do not need to enter login credentials repeatedly for any device. It automatically applies credentials from the credential profile, which saves time.
Cons: Sometimes there is scalability issue. In very large environments where there are thousands of devices, performance can lag. Sometimes reports generation is little complex.

My experience with ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager (NCM) is related to the tasks of automating network infrastructure management, change control, and fault tolerance through timely configuration backups. 1. Deployment and initial configuration When implementing NCM, it performed: deploying a server on Windows/Linux; connecting network devices from different vendors (Cisco, Mikrotik, Huawei, HP/Aruba, Fortinet); configuring credentials and access profiles; integration with OpManager and ServiceDesk Plus to automate incident handling. Plus, the process of connecting devices is quite simple, but for some models it was necessary to manually adjust the backup/restore commands.
Pros: Here are the main advantages of ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager (NCM), which are most often noted by administrators and which are considered the strongest sides of the product.: 1. Centralized configuration management You can manage the configurations of all network devices from one location — switches, routers, firewalls, and Wi-Fi points. Saves a lot of time when working with a large number of devices. 2. Automatic backups
Cons: Limited parsing and template capabilities Automatic configuration parsing does not always work correctly with: non-standard configs, by specific vendors, complex ACLs or firewall policies. Sometimes you need to manually add templates.

Pros: The compliance auditing system was useful in enhancing security to ensure every device followed the right measures. Personalized reports of PCI DSS and HIPAA checks helped save several hours of work and allowed for addressing potential risks before audits.
Cons: Performance wise, when performing the computation with very large set of compliance data, the report generation may sometimes appear slightly sluggish.
Osman K. · Financial Reporting Manager · Higher Education · April 28, 2025
Pros: The preference for frequent automatic backups across all core devices of the Network Configuration Manager was particularly beneficial in the case of disaster recovery. It was possible for me to store multiple versions of the configuration and you could easily restore the systems.
Cons: The issue is occasional and mostly noticeable during facility maintenance when the real-time configuration comparison might confuse very large multi-context firewalls, thus causing minor delay in the generation of the config diff.
Mokbul H. · IT Chief · Retail · April 27, 2025
Pros: It surprised me that I could turn the configuration of a few tens of device to the same settings at once without the separate logins and scripts. Using the Network Configuration Manager, I can revert to earlier versions if the experimental changes are not ideal.
Cons: The device support library can occasionally be slow to incorporate new hardware products in the market. After installing models that are newly developed, I had to deploy backup scripts or templates myself.
Moi K. · Data Scientist · Mechanical or Industrial Engineering · April 27, 2025
Pros: Network Configuration Manager handling of routine configuration work including mass configuration and auto scheduling have helped to decrease manual labour. This makes it possible for the team to further channel their efforts towards more productive tasks.
Cons: Some of the automation scripts, known as configlets, do not provide extensive failure messages in case of errors. This makes troubleshooting more complicated since finding out the root of the problem needs more examination.
Alexandru T. · Project Quality Manager · Business Supplies and Equipment · April 26, 2025
Pros: In the area of reporting Network Configuration Manager shines and offers almost everything a compliance manager could need. Creating reports based on specific standards such as PCI and HIPAA has also helped in preparing and passing through audits effectively.
Cons: There is always duplication of alerts for the same event, meaning that the team receives many alerts, and it gets boring after sometime. The idea of adjusting some alert thresholds could increase the level of practicality.
Jerome C. · Customer Support Manager · Information Technology and Services · April 26, 2025
Pros: It is noteworthy that Network Configuration Manager supports multi-vendor environments exceptionally well. Having to configurer numerous devices from many different manufacturers has been made easier through the use of this tool allowing us to have a on Stop tool instead of many tools.
Cons: I noticed that while performing tasks related to configuration in the high traffic zone, a little bit of time might be taken for the same. Although it is not severe, latency may be problematic for time-sensitive operations.
Hinku S. · Compliance Officer · Construction · April 25, 2025
Pros: Network Configuration Manager real time change alerts have been very helpful in identifying changes. It makes it easy to contain emergent concerns that if not acted on instantly may lead to devastating outcomes. It helps to reduce the response time while working in this feature.
Cons: Some of the problems which were identified while integrating the tool with some of our legacy systems included.
İbrahim A. · Support Technician · Construction · April 25, 2025
Pros: One of the most prominent features is the role-based access control feature of this system. Network Configuration Manager gives an opportunity to grant the particular levels of access to numerous people and to limit the changes of other birds-brained individuals.
Cons: Filtering the report to provide only necessary fields takes some time and perhaps the layout of the reports should be more friendly.
Magdalena A. · IT Project Manager · Architecture & Planning · April 25, 2025
Pros: The automated configuration backup in ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager gives satisfaction. Being aware that device configurations are usually synchronized and can be easily repaired in a short period in the event of any problems has enhanced our disaster recovery plans.
Cons: The firmware vulnerability management appears to be a bit slow in providing the most recent updates of CVE entries. This requires follow-up by manual checking to ensure that all the vulnerabilities are closed as and when they are discovered.
Paul R. · IT Chief · Management Consulting · April 25, 2025
Pros: The opportunity for using Network Configuration Manager for the simultaneous backup of various devices and managing the changes in configuration is a feature that stands out. This has helped us to cut down the time taken to perform most of these tasks manually on the platform.
Cons: Due to the inherent inefficiency of the networking system the software can be slower in carrying out large configuration update across diverse network equipment. This results in a slowdown and it may take time to start making changes in many devices at the same time.
Sascha P. · Cloud Engineer · Restaurants · April 23, 2025
Pros: The more striking features of WASP are in Configuration Auditing and Change Detection features. Network Configuration Manager is useful in identifying the changes made on network configuration accurately thereby supporting the stability of the network and its compliance.
Cons: Some aspects related to the configuration rollbacks could be done better. The rollback process only brings back the prior settings, though there are slight differences in the settings that need correction.
Matthias E. · Software Engineer · Higher Education · April 23, 2025
Pros: It is very effective to be able to schedule configuration backups on multiple devices in various locations at equal ease. Network Configuration Manager from ManageEngine let us easily keep track of the device, as well as perform update and restoration of configurations when necessary to minimize the time off-line.
Cons: I have often found myself with problems each time I am working on configurations that have custom firmware. It appears in such scenarios to be sluggish and needs undue intervention to make sure that configurations are properly made.
Ringo L. · IT Analyst · Retail · April 23, 2025
Pros: ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager is an ideal solution, which can help to automate the process of configuration backups for network devices, and ensure their secure update. One more advantage of the tool is the capability of fast configuration restoration for network availability.
Cons: Not all multi-device updates are as smooth as was expected and some tasks are sometimes carried out manually.
Ouria K. · Data Scientist · Performing Arts · April 23, 2025
Pros: Using ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager, I was able to easily identify configuration deviations on the network devices. I always get notifications whenever device configurations go off the normal standard hence am able to attend to them before they cause service interferences.
Cons: Some baseline comparison reports do not, nonetheless, capture slight syntactical variations, especially in sets of custom commands. This has been achieved by hand analyses to identify mere mistakes with more pronounced effects on the results.
Tiffany V. · Systems Engineer · Information Technology and Services · April 22, 2025
Pros: The dynamic use of Configlets has relieved much of the time that would have otherwise been spent in configuring. As the changes are applied to all of the devices at the same time, there is no inconsistency and problematic handcoding. This has increased accountability and made it easy to identify the sources of problems when they occur.
Cons: There is no real time collaboration features for approval process meaning that communication between the various approvals is sequential.
Esther A. · Project Manager · Higher Education · April 22, 2025
Pros: Managing number of configurations across multiple devices with different vendors can be quite strenuous exercise which is not a problem as far as NCM is involved. It is compatible with more than 200 vendors, and this means that the management is also easily doable.
Cons: Some of the devices require intervention for optimization which can take a lot of time. Quite clearly, there are some overlaps, and if the few areas of conflict are worked out, then this feature would be very useful.
