Barely survivable. I did all the initial updates. The support failed to highlight some options like multiple versions on 1 product. If they focused on some basics like sorting fields, better reports you can print it would be a really good replacement for the Intuit Quickbooks POS..
Pros: Website is easy to update. But, I did not like that I cannot get remote customers to submit quotes from the website. Instead it requires the customer to purchase immediately which is not good for a business that does custom items.
Cons: Reports are really poor. The Sales Tax report is the worst, it does not break out non taxable items you must report in Colorado. Another example is I you display a report by Department, but if you print or download it listed ALL transactions rather than the summary you wanted. It was very difficult to search for item in the register unless all your products have scan codes

Terrible experience. The onboarding experience was terrible. It felt like they cater more to folks who don't know how to use technology. As an IT professional and website designer, they were too basic, and they struggled to understand basic tech and web dev questions. The website builder is trash, overpriced for what you get, and the onboarding process wastes time.
Pros: I tried hard to dig down deep to find a positive, but I genuinely disliked the whole journey.

Not a good experience at all. I ran this system in my shop for a year, it was expensive ($100 more than the system I went back to). I was referred to this system by another quilt shop who absolutley loved it. It was not a good experience for me.
Pros: Their program to enter work orders and remove product from inventory was amazing! I wish they would have this option "sold seperatley"
Cons: Program to run a quilt/fabric shop never worked properly. Was very UN user friendly, I had no control over any aspects of ringing up a sale. Things that were "SOLD" to me never worked properly, when I cancelled my subscription I was told things were not completed as they were supposed to be.

It was a wonderful experience, glad they have such great customer service!
Pros: The wonderful support and help with kindness!
Cons: Nothing the service is great and the people are kind!

The beginning experience was great, but now we are running into problems and there is really minimal help. This system has a very high monthly fee, and I really don’t feel like it’s worth it.
Pros: We really like that it is a cloud based POS.
Cons: You don’t really need to call support in the beginning because you are new and learning the system but once you get setup and start noticing glitches you cannot get a hold of anyone. They also do not have support evenings and weekends.

at first, they are great but once they figure u are too far to turn back they seem to vanish trying to get answers call one day it might be two days later you get a call back no one seems to care how things are going i my self have a issue with my favorites list the acknowledge there is a problem yet to get it fixed 6 weeks latter
Pros: local and they sell it like its great when min reality it needs so much work
Cons: their customer service sucks and that is putting it nicely

Rain POS is made for large and enterprise businesses.
Pros: Rain POS covers most retail functions in easy, friendly ways, and deep customize.
Cons: Rain POS provides a cloud version only which makes some concerns from weak internet areas and more risk in online.

So poor, I did so much research and I am so disappointed.
Pros: I thought Rain had it all, POS, web, work orders. But product is such a disappointment.
Cons: The system fails every day. Something stops working every week. Receipts stop printing correctly, barcode doesn’t scan.

As a product it’s great but as a company it’s horrible. Terrible customer service and support.
Pros: It was all in one with a nice platform. Handled customer accounts and payment links built into the invoices.
Cons: They promised the world and delivered nothing. The on boarding took months and I had to pay for service during the $2,000 cost of onboarding. Then when we went to cancel they said you have to give us a notice. Why you said zero length contract.

I haven't taken advantage of online retail or marketing. I just don't have the time to set up and implement these features so overall the price has not been worth it for me. The website builder is so bad that I am looking for another alternative but the initial setup fee was so high it really does sting to switch to another provider (maybe that was the point).
Pros: Rain was sold to me and my music store as an all in one solution for POS, website, online sales, marketing, job orders, repairs, rentals, the whole nine. I love the POS and inventory part. The site is a little laggy to start and then everything works super fast. Most things in this realm are intuitive.
Cons: The onboarding cost was kind of high and I don't feel like I got that much out of it. The trainings were unnecessary and could have easily been done with a video. I really, really, really hate the website builder. They set up my website as close as they could match to my previous one from Wix and they did a pretty good job (although I discovered some mistakes that were pretty bad, such as the wrong phone number for my store, they were easily fixed by me) but I am frightened of doing anything to it beyond changing the text. I would say their web builder UI/UX is straight out of the 90s but that even the 90s had the concept of draft and publish. EVERYTHING you do on the website builder is IMMEDIATELY live and there is no way to revert to an early version without contacting them.

Good. It took longer to get set up than we had hoped, as the integration team was swamped. There customer support is ok, but lengthy.
Pros: I like the integration with My Music Staff. I also like the ease in which we can automate customer payments for services and rentals.
Cons: I do not like that we cannot easily adjust pricing, and have difficulty on supplier invoice tracking with taxes.

It was great when we first switched. However it has just gone down hill.
Pros: It was sold that it would be a great fit. It is very inexpensive.
Cons: They do not know what they are doing. They can only help you for 30 mins and then say that they do not know how to fix the issue so they have to get off the phone. Their labels do not work properly and they ast like it is not a big deal.
Sierra H. · Owner · Retail · February 3, 2023
I found Rain to be overall a good package for a small retail operation. You don't have to have extensive computer experience, but with all software, the quality of its performance is proportional to the quality of the data (i.e. product information) you put in.
Pros: You are not required to purchase proprietary equipment to use this software. You can use all features anywhere you have an internet connection. You are not limited to the number of registers you can use. It manages our retail sales, website sales, and class enrollments. Inventory for retail and web is integrated.
Cons: They are in Utah, so sometimes they are not available for support when my shop is open. Reporting could be better, more flexible. Getting changes or additional features is a slow process.

Items category for rental product is a nice addition for POS that is all inclusive with an intuitive dashboard, mobile app and easy integration.
Pros: Easy way to add products to both POS and eCommerce simultaneously is one of the best way to both.
Cons: The cost of Rain POS is a bit steep for many local businesses and lack huge community base for support.
Stanley M. · System Administration · Information Technology and Services · November 27, 2022
Pros: Honestly the customer support was really the only good thing about constant issues with system crashing payments couldn’t be made, technical errors
Cons: Cost was high for the level of service .
Sean T. · Manager · Restaurants · October 23, 2022
Pros: Easy to use and has great functionality. Could have a little bit more functionality than it has to make it great. However they need more people to fix bugs and enact on others suggestions to develop the product further. Customer Support is a joke!
Cons: Customer Support is a joke! I contacted support about a glitch. I told them to call me because I broke my wrist and easier to explain than typing it out. They refused to call me as if their time was more valuable in R&D than fixing bugs. I cant type with a broken wrist. All this is one fingered.

Not ready for prime time. Too many unresolved issues. They have a bug reporting system with no follow up? RAIN is also incredibly lacking in support for multi-store operations. I could tell them what, and how to fix, many of the problems, but it seems they don't really want to know. I think they want to sit back and collect processing fees and don't really care about the actual efficiency or user experience of the product. I have 40 years of experience designing and supporting POS systems and databases and other retail software in actual retail environments. No system is perfect for every business, but flexibility and responsiveness is paramount. I asked them to call me me sometime if they'd like some tips from an actual retail professional. I doubt I will hear from them.
Pros: Cloud based. No software to support or maintain.
Cons: Lack of support and woeful capabilities for multi-store operations.
Stacy B. · IT Manager · Retail · March 18, 2022
Wonderful
Pros: Easy to use, and help with inventory and daily and year end reports
Cons: We have no suggestions for any new features we would like to see.
Gwen H. · Owner · Retail · February 10, 2022
I had this when I had my yarn store in Alaska. I moved to Tennessee and opened a new store 2 years later and all they had to do way change my information and I was up and running again, all my inventory was intact and functioning. Totally awesome!!!
Pros: It’s easy to use and the customer service is awesome. You get a live person 24/7. (that speaks and understands English)
Cons: It doesn’t work on my ipad, which is what I use in my store, instead of a full computer system. So I either have to call and ask you guys to fix stuff or wait till I get home on my Mac. (If it can wait, I’ll make notes as to what I need to do then, wait till I get home, but if not, I call you)

Inventory management
Pros: Built in videos and the ability to view both of my stores inventory
Cons: I’d love if it worked with Comment Sold and Ship Station
Marie W. · Owner · Arts and Crafts · February 10, 2022
I am very happy and I don't plan on ever using anything else.
Pros: I love that inventory reflects between shopping instore or online.
Cons: No is perfect and sometimes there are bug they get worked out.
Christina D. · Owner · Retail · February 9, 2022
Overall experience has been 90% positive, & with help from tech support, makes it easy to identify areas we need to improve our knowledge of the system
Pros: Ability to track sales & purchases on a daily basis if needed
Cons: Length of time that it takes to make requested changes in the software
Michael H. · President · Retail · February 9, 2022
Pros: I don't have experience with other software so I can't compare and contrast. The product works as intended. What I like most is the customer service.
Cons: The Quickbooks integration is a sore spot for me. I know it is not your core product...just a value add but doesn't make sense to offer if it doesn't work. Initially there were just a few kinks. I understood what they were and worked through them. Now, the sales do not integrate and you have been trying to fix it for over a month. I had to pay someone to help me with Quickbooks and it took longer/cost more because of the way RAIN set up the integration.
Susanne D. · Owner · Arts and Crafts · February 9, 2022
Pros: inventory tracking is helpful in ordering - Notions is my largest ordering partner and great to bring over products automatically.
Cons: customer service hours - no help at night or on weekends and response has been slow.
