My experience with LucidLink has been exceptional. Not only is the product a lifesaver and timesaver, but the support staff constantly surpasses expectations. Even on lower priority tickets I've submitted, the tech department gets back to me and helps me quickly resolve my concerns. They're patient, knowledgable and always helpful. And so fast!
Pros: I've been really happy with how LucidLink speeds up our project collaboration and team collaboration. It makes it so our team of editors can work anywhere in the world. It also helps with revisions - if an editor is out or sick and a revision request comes up, a different editor can step in and finish the ask. No need to download and upload files just to work or collaborate. No need to wait for a different editor to get back to their desk to share a project file. It's all there and all accessible 24/7!
Cons: This has since been resolved, but the installation process for LucidLink Classic was a nightmare on a Mac. There were many specific things that needed to be done to allow Lucid the permissions it needed to function as it was intended. Now, however, the new LucidLink installs quickly, easily, and efficiently.

I’m very satisfied with my overall experience with lucid. It actually helps our project management easier.
Pros: Ease of use. It’s easy to understand and navigate. No one needs a tutorial when cause it’s a very straightforward application.

Cons: When I had problems and contacted support, there were a lot of technical terms that I had a hard time understanding. Good thing the agent that I was talking to had a lot of patience.
Kathleen F. · Production Assistant Manager · Real Estate · March 6, 2026
Great, no complaints at all. Easy to use. Small application that takes seconds to install. Super fast feedback from the support team
Pros: Ease of use, great customer support when having issues, with almost instant response from the technical team.
Cons: There is really nothing about lucidlink that I do not like, its always easy to use with minimal issues.
Julius F. · Product Manager · Retail · January 6, 2026
Pros: Opens on startup and no waiting times. I’m able to keep my work on a drive that’s reliable and always accessible. Easy to use too and the customer support is very helpful
Cons: The only bad experience I’ve had with LucidLink was that there was an error and the app didn’t want to open, but I believe that was a cache issue
Jamie F. · Lead Animator · Animation · November 24, 2025
Excelent, I'd work with LucidLink 100% any time I can. I've never work with a cloud-like app so fast and so efficiently.
Pros: The fast environment to work on, the great UX/UI of the app overall, the good system of recovery when accidental deletes.
Cons: Had some trouble with special characters like "´" or "ñ" and the fact that if it goes down (like when AWS went down) you are a bit dependent.
Sebastian L. · Video Editor · Marketing and Advertising · November 13, 2025
Pros: Fairly easy to use, and get user adoption. Once you get past the setup phase with users, most find it fairly easy.
Cons: Constant updates that require teh end user to be a local admin to run. (mostly an issue on Mac devices for us) I also wish we could auto-expire local index files when a user does not connect often enough.
Sam B. · Director of Information Technology · Marketing and Advertising · August 28, 2025
he software works as intended — fast, simple, and stable. Apart from the SSO and Microsoft Store issues, I can’t help but wonder where the catch is. So far, we’re very satisfied with it.
Pros: So far, it just works — easy to install, stable data streaming. A modern cloud solution with unmatched ease of use.
Cons: The fact that only one domain can be configured for SSO makes this feature unusable for us, as we manage four different companies. The SSO integration itself is also inconvenient, as a client-side SSO key file has to be imported for it to work. SSO is supposed to be a secure and simple login method, not one that requires distributing the same key to all users so they can manually import it when needed. Additionally, it would be very practical if the app were available in the Microsoft App Store, as this would eliminate the need to manually create a new package for every update in a managed environment.

My company started using LucidLink in 2023 and I am so grateful we did! I can't imagine my job without it :)
Pros: It's so easy to use LucidLink. It's like my personal hard drive in the cloud. It makes it so nice not to have to carry an SSD all the time.
Cons: With that freedom that comes from convenience comes a low level of believing it's too good to be true. I love LucidLink so not many cons come to mind!
Jacob S. · Video Editor · Public Relations and Communications · July 22, 2025
I've loved using Lucid Link, it's simple and reliable to work with on both Mac and Windows OS.
Pros: Simple to use, safe and quick and efficient customer service.
Cons: Some clients still view it as a hassle so not all are willing to download.
Paulina C. · Producer · Animation · May 14, 2025
Our efforts to improve project collaboration have shown impressive results. Fixing synchronization issues and searching for data across several servers used to take up a lot of our work. Lucidlink has made everything organized and accessible from any location. As part of our process for generating large-scale projects for important clients, we utilized it to share massive design files with our marketing team and external partners. With real-time file access and updates, the review and approval process became more easier.
Pros: It took too long to access and share massive files; there were regular issues with downloads and synchronizations; our design files are typically big and spread out across multiple servers; and there were continual problems with file synchronization and sharing with external clients and collaborators. With LucidLink, we can keep working as a local unit while still using our regular apps and processes. The opportunity to collaborate in real-time has increased both our productivity and creativity. It has been a lifesaver for our team, particularly when dealing with large design files.
Cons: Many clients were still concerned about the security of their cloud-based projects, even though LucidLink had strong security measures in place, such as zero-knowledge encryption. To ensure the safety of their data, we had to work closely with them to explain the security procedures that were put in place.

Overall, this is the first remote working system that I love. I've supervised two very large projects on it and it's never been anything other than wonderfully enabling.
Pros: I'm a fan. When you're building a remote post production team, LucidLink works superbly, allowing every team member no matter where they are on the planet to share the same media. It works very well even for team members on lower bandwidth and across multiple OS'es.
Cons: There are many powerful and important options that need to be set up initially so your team works properly. Don't skip these steps.

Pros: I like that we can link anywhere and all our engineers work from the same drawings. Its important to our final plans that each discipline is using the same backgrounds . I like that its very much like we had our inhouse server with the different drives per year, and when we transferred over making folders with the drive names kept our hard paths in autocad generally ok even for our oldest drawings
Cons: $7b
Walter J. · SR PROJECT MANAGER · Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing · April 15, 2025
Overall good. Seems low on resources, is fast to setup and get familiar with.
Pros: Ease of use. It has simple configuration/UI.
Cons: Availability of cached files due to the need to work mostly offline. Need to copy to a local folder first, then back. I know this is potentially a "hard" problem though. lucid:// links on Linux doesn't always work, but this could be a limitation of the OS.
Kenneth N. · Freelancer Video Editor · Marketing and Advertising · April 2, 2025
Overall going from classic to new lucid link has been a breeze and I believe with a few minor changes the service can be phenomenal.
Pros: I love Lucid Links ability to give my team and I access to our media files. It has created a incredible system for me to manage and share files with our freelancers.
Cons: The new lucid link UI is something I think needs improvement. The overall ui from classic allowed me to have better control/understanding of the overall software. Additionally I find it much harder to migrate my cache due to it being limited to a command function
Noah C. · Post Production Coordinator · Marketing and Advertising · March 6, 2025
Good but glitchy and not totally polished.
Pros: Works well enough, better than Dropbox overall for video editing but has its issues as well.
Cons: When I hit 1 TB of usage my service was completely cut off without any warning or explanation. It totally wrecked an end of day deadline I had.
Michael W. · Tech · Media Production · February 21, 2025
Very happy. Collaborations with European clients was a breeze. Editing group learned quickly.
Pros: Progressive uploading. Being able to log and preview files as they arrived helped a lot.
Cons: Unable to relocate project folder. Some editors reported issues with using Resolve, but these were quickly dealt with.
Dave T. · President · Media Production · February 18, 2025
It's great can't complain - wonderful customer support
Pros: LucidLink is key for our production workflow working in a remote capacity.
Cons: I wish LucidLink had more native integrations to DAM's like Box or presentation software like Frame.io
Trevor S. · Director of Operations · Marketing and Advertising · February 5, 2025
Fantastic. The team described it as a game changer in the industry.
Pros: Instant access everywhere for my team. Easy collaboration between editors, motion designer and graphic designers.
Cons: The lack of deep administration capabilities.
Cedric R. · Editor · Marketing and Advertising · January 30, 2025
I am enjoying it very much. It makes my live easier.
Pros: Its a very easy Workflow. For me as a remote employee its an absolute blessing.
Cons: The installation on my Mac is a bit complicated. But support is very good.
Moritz B. · Mediengestalter Bild und Ton · Media Production · January 24, 2025
Pros: Customer service: fast, accurate, and friendly.
Cons: The price, a bit high despite being very useful for businesses.
Daniela G. · IT · Construction · December 27, 2024
in my opinion LucidLink is very stable. At the same time it is very easy to use.
Pros: working as a team within the same structure.
Cons: the "poor connection" from time to time.
ben-r z. · artist · Animation · December 18, 2024
decent, we are manually moving data ourselves as opposed to a canned solution, but again no white labeling and no discounts for MSP. Unless you can do unrealistic numbers of TB.
Pros: Speed and ease of use. The app is convenient but not unique.
Cons: As an MSP who could sell this to many clients we are very picky about who we convert from other solutions due to no MSP partner program at all. No whitelisting, no actual incentive to sell it to our clients.
Luke g. · Owner · Information Technology and Services · December 7, 2024
Very positive - fast speeds, intuitive interface, and a simplified remote workflow.
Pros: Everyone can access the same files at the same path.
Cons: Some people don't understand a remote workflow, and try to copy their Lucid files to their personal machine.
Ted S. · Flame Artist · Motion Pictures and Film · December 2, 2024
I recommend it to everyone that is looking for a solid WFH solution. And their current per TB rate makes it extremely affordable.
Pros: I've watched LucidLink evolve over the years as we were one of their first customers, then it's the gold standard to be able to collaborate. We have writers, producers, editors, ae's, graphic designers, all being able to live life as is they are back in the office, navigating through explorer/finder windows in order to build a tv series together. It's FAST, it's Easy, and if you're on a proxy workflow, feels like you're editing off of a server down the hall.
Cons: Only negative is that it does require implementation via your IT department as it requires more security permissions that I would like.
Jorge T. · Director of Post Production · Entertainment · November 27, 2024
I would recommend it to other people. I won't use it for every project, but I will be using it when I do need to share in the cloud collaboratively.
Pros: Faster and more reliable syncing than other products
Cons: Install was a bit tricky, but a lot of that is macOS and their new security protocols.
