It's good! Datylon makes it easy to create great-looking charts in Illustrator. I would appreciate special pricing for nonprofits.
Pros: Once you get the hang of it, Datylon is quite easy to use. A lot of styling options are available, and it's easy to edit older files with charts made using Datylon.
Cons: I would have liked a quick walkthrough and a demo when I started using Datylon. It took a bit of trial and error to figure out how to use the addon in Illustrator.

Have already started to build it into many of the key deliverables I commit to, especially regarding update-able dashboard based on market information
Pros: The support provided, and the way a wide array of pre-built charts are provided which can be easily edited (with your own data) to get started. Really accelerated understanding and usage of the software.
Cons: After the initial learning curve (which is not that steep), nothing (I like everything about the package).

This is an amazing too and a must for anyone producing charts.
Pros: Datylon for Illustrator is so feature rich it has everything you could ever want in an Illustrator chart.
Cons: It has a steep learning curve because of all the features. not necessarily a bad thing but it does need a good time investment to get the most out of it.

Overall it is a great tool to have, which directly plugs into Illustrator. It outputs very aesthetically satisfying graphics, which are easy to edit and customize. The tool is easy to learn, and if you have any questions they are happy to set up a video call to help you. Brilliant tool, brilliant service.
Pros: Datylon is easy to use for those of us in the design industry, who are more visually trained. It is much quicker and easier to use than Power BI, and the graphic results are far more pleasing.
Cons: As all data has to be prepared prior to using Datylon, it can get a bit messy as it is not being drawn from one source. However, this also makes it simpler to use. It is disappointing that you cannot customize the icons (in the icons graphs) at present.

Pros: Datylon is an excellent data visualization tool. I believe it is in a field of its own for charts and data visualization for Adobe Illustrator. Datylon provides many options for customization and they are continually innovating. The Datylon team is highly professional and extremely knowledgeable and support their customers in many ways.
Cons: There could be more options for custom colour profiles swatches.

Pros: I love that I can easily create charts and update the info much more simpler than in the Illustrator chart creation tool. This plug-in is very robust and can do things which not only save a lot of time, like resizing the charts while having the fonts stay the same size, but also enables me to have more control in the design process while creating clear and precise data visualization assets. The more I use it the easier it gets but I can see that it is capable of doing so much more than I utilize it for. I highly recommend Datylon to anyone that needs to create charts for Data Visualization.
Cons: There's a bit of a learning curve but I've been able to figure out most things thru trial and error and when I can't figure something out the help desk is very helpful in solving the problems.

Pros: Datylon is hands down the best chart great and data visualization tool on the market that works seamlessly with Adobe Illustrator. You can easily resize a chart, and the text does not distort or change size. You can duplicate a chart. You can connect multiple charts to one data sheet so you can easily update the data across all your charts. Almost everything is customizable. And the icing on top is that you can also upload your charts and files to the Datylon platform and create templates to reuse over and over.
Cons: Occasionally I do find I want to make a specific customization and that isn't available, but usually there is a work around or another way to solve. I do wish you could create a hyperlink text box on the online platform so that templates can have clickable links.

It's been good, so far!
Pros: Good product - better than excel or Illustrator's native graph creator and with fairly intuitive UI for editing. I do wish it was a lot quicker to edit things like colours, weights, strokes of plots, axis' and other data. It would be ideal if this plugin could use Illustrators native colour, stroke, etc. options to edit charts.
Cons: It would be ideal if this plugin could use Illustrators native colour, stroke, etc. options to edit charts.

I scheduled a meeting with [sensitive content hidden] when I first downloaded the app. I can recommend this to anyone since it greatly shortens the learning curve. After tinkering with the extension for a few hours, I had my workflow figured out and am happy to have saved time using it.
Pros: Copying charts with the same design elements makes a purchase of Datylon outweigh the costs.
Cons: It would be nice to find a way to make each chart 's x and y grid lines appear uniform automatically in instances when charts with drastically different x and y values are copied to duplicate visual elements. This is ENTIRELY POSSIBLE MANUALLY.

I am so happy we found Datylon, as I was pulling out my hair with Illustrator's chart tool. While I feel like there is a steeper learning curve than I would like, I appreciate the range of capability, and feel that I have only scratched the surface with what can be done.
Pros: Datylon allows us to create branded charts and graphs within Illustrator, with far fewer headaches than if we solely used Illustrator's built in tools. We are able to control the look and feel of the charts while maintaining editability.
Cons: There is a bit of a learning curve with Datylon that we had to work through. It doesn't act like an Adobe product, and isn't quite as intuitive. The data fields also don't quite act like Excel, so it took few beats to remember that hitting tab won't move the curser to the next cell. Remembering which menu controlled the look of which element took some time as well. But once we picked up on the way everything works, it has been MUCH better than what we were doing before.

Being able to create a chart within Illustrator, then "expand" it and fine-tune customizations is fantastic. Otherwise, I've been exporting charts to .svg and bringing them into Illustrator, which is not as clever.
Pros: If there is a graph you need to create, Datylon can do it. The types of graphs and customizations for these graphs are nearly limitless.
Cons: I really struggled to figure out a couple of basic features: it would be great if there were a way to create a histogram from a single column of data. I could not figure out how to do this. You need to create a "count" spreadsheet separately with a linear scale (1,2,3,4,5) according to the bins you want, then hide the x-axis of the resulting graph.I recognize this requires Datylon to perform math/calculations, but it sure would be helpful.Second, I have not figured out how to set the "zero" point for a diverging bar chart - the category/value that separates left and right sides of the chart. I'm wondering if it would be helpful to have, by graph type, a tab with feature settings particular to that graph type. It would clarify which options are available.

It has helped to speed up the production and adjustment of standard bar and line charts.
Pros: Datylon allows consistent styles to be set up for charts with varying data, and makes them very easy to resize.
Cons: It can be difficult to get the hang of the styling features at first, but the more they are used, the clearer it is how many capabilities there are to adjust the style of charts.
Heather R. · Lead Artworker · Design · July 27, 2023
Pros: Datylon does everything that Illustrator doesn't do when it comes to charts/graphs. It's FANTASTIC in almost every way!
Cons: The UI isn't intuitive at all. I almost walked away without even trying to figure it out. Thankfully, the support more than makes up for the UI deficiencies. They go above and beyond to help.

Wonderful!
Pros: We are company who are focusing on report production and the data visualization, aka making charts is the important aspect of our workflow. We're creating charts manually before the Datylon. That process created lots of errors, mistakes. With Datylon, we standardized our charts and produce mistake-free reports. It was really time-saving, efficient and quality plug-in. If you are doing any charts on Illustrator, you need to use Datylon. Also, the support team's responses are very fast. They are always helpful!
Cons: I think the biggest improvement would be an built-in template center. Whenever we start a new project, we need to enter the same fonts, font sizes, bar lenght etc. It is a little bit time consuming process.
Anıl A. · Project Manager/Design support · Design · July 8, 2023
Pros: The best thing about Datylon is that the data can be altered afterwards without consequences for the design. No need to start all over again. An other great feature is the number of chart types to choose from.
Cons: It takes some time to learn how to tweak or alter the visualisation of the data.
Chris M. · Graphic Designer · Government Administration · July 7, 2023
Excellent
Pros: Chart options, and the ability to bridge the gap between Excel and Illustrator was a great time-saver
Cons: Pricing is too expensive for individuals; I guess working in a big organization has benefits. But I won't pay a monthly subscription for a utility but rather a standalone product.
Ayman F. · Graphic Designer · Non-Profit Organization Management · July 5, 2023
Pros: I like that it works as an Illustrator plugin and allows you to create nice graphs
Cons: It is not intuitive tool to learn, the interface could be more straightforward
Mariam K. · Architect · Architecture & Planning · June 30, 2023
From research to implementation, the experience has been amazing. One-on-one support and offering suggestions on how to implement certain data into visuals. Wish I would have known about this years ago - it's been very helpful with layouts that have a lot of data and making sure there is consistency. Also speeds up workflow for last-minute changes and the option to resize graphics that will update on the fly - bravo to the team!
Pros: This was a game changer for creating charts and other data visuals that were correct in terms of data and the ease of implementation of client branding.
Cons: I wish there was a way to save brand assets ie: swatches, fonts, and overall create styles that can be saved.
Jamie M. · Owner · Design · June 29, 2023
Still a beginner, but so far I very much appreciate having the tool in my arsenal to automate from data the visualizations I’d have to otherwise conjure manually.
Pros: The ease of switching styles on the fly, and the ability to recreate multiples of a visualization with a few simple clicks.
Cons: Honestly, I’d prefer better integration with the rest of my Adobe workflow.
Thom P. · Instruction Tech Specialist · Higher Education · June 29, 2023
Nothing but excellent.
Pros: SO Flexible. You don’t have to start over every time new data comes in. With Illustrator, you practically have to start from scratch every time. With Datylon, once the design is set, all you do is change the numbers. Pays for itself after the first job.
Cons: It’s not really a con, but the interface is pretty complicated. That’s understandable given what it does. But once you get it down, everything cruises.
John R. · President · Design · June 29, 2023
Their customer service is amazing. I cannot name anyone else who will actually give you a live demo! Not only that but they respond promptly to your email.
Pros: Datylon allows you to create complete fully designed charts. There's no having to make layout edits afterwards. It is a designers friend.
Cons: Need more videos on your help site. Sometimes the written explanation is not as easy to follow.
Brian M. · Creative Director · Marketing and Advertising · June 29, 2023
The are so many more positives to Datylon, but you need to be someone who is comfortable poking around and trying things, digging into templates, or read the manual. For those that require a low code, easy solution, you may find this plugin tedious or clunky.
Pros: The ability to make templates and create a consistent brand look.
Cons: Steep learning curve. Terrible approach to software updates. Constant logging in.
Jason D. · Graphic Designer · Graphic Design · June 29, 2023
Datylon is great and has sped up our work process a lot
Pros: Integrates well with Indesign and allows us to make last minute changes quickly. Lots of options available in styling our visualisations consistently.
Cons: Some of the options are hard to find and would be good to find a way to change some of the defaults .
Mick F. · Design Manager · Research · May 7, 2023
Pros: I really like that it is easy to connect with Datylon for any questions--ever. Customer support is helpful, accessible, and attentive. I also love that I can finally display data in interesting ways as I have always felt that Illustrator is lacking in this area.
Cons: I would like to be able to customize options based on my company's branding and to have helpful hints on how to best set up data in Excel.
Amanda Z. · Graphic Designer · Real Estate · May 3, 2023
Positive, because it does the job. But its not the easiest tool.
Pros: The ease of creating multiple beautiful charts with changing data.
Cons: The price is very high. The UI system is terrible. Needs some improvements for ease of use. But once get used to it, its not as hard to move around.
