BuildOps helps small construction and mechanical firms manage scheduling, dispatch, and customer data. Its drag-and-drop dispatch board and mobile work order tools keep technicians organized. The centralized customer database is a plus, but form customization and accounting integrations can be challenging. As of 2025, it also offers a certification tracking feature that enables smarter dispatching and ensures compliance.

The most intuitive software I have used to date. Allows data tracking well beyond what I have used in the past. The dispatch board is very nice and easy to track the jobs/techs.
Pros: Customer Support. I am not perfect and the Buildops crew has been kind and eager to help with every request that I have, often user error and not an issue with buildops.
Cons: Right now the Forms function is buggy and not working for complex forms, I have a case with the engineering department at Bops, now.

I can get online help right away. There are times that BuildOps can be very difficult. Requires lots of training. I don't believe it's user friendly
Pros: BuildOps is very progressive in some fields. You can also have all your company information all in 1 accounting system
Cons: Not being able to delete incorrect info, it has to be archived "in a sense" but that fills BuildOps with too much data

Negative. I would not recommend it to anyone at this time. Until they get their customer experience significantly improved, especially around migration and general support. Currently, they are very impersonal and have no sense of urgency and extremely poor communication when a problem arises.
Pros: The potential of the product. On the face of it, it looks like it could add value and we have been generally happy with the dispatching...the rest is meh
Cons: The lack of support once we went live from the beginning until this current day. They state they have known issues, often with certain platforms, but there is no urgency to resolve it. You have to follow up multiple times to get a response and there is no understanding of urgency or customer experience, especially from the technical team. They seem like all they care about is closing a ticket, even if the closing is this is a known issue and we are looking into it.

We have had a great experience so far with BuildOps. Our account manager [sensitive content hidden] has always been so helpful.
Pros: There is 24/7 help available if needed. I also appreciate being able to ask AI something and get an answer quickly.
Cons: There were some glitches that made the program run slow but other than that, it has been great! We were able to reach out and get help right away.

Pros: -Ease of use for techs in the field -AI recommendation generation -Auto fill assets from data tag pictures
Cons: -Limitations on mobile app from a management / dispatch standpoint -Inability to separate customer lists by department / location

It is great for capturing information and presenting a professional front to customers. You can be frustrating at times when not having good connection or the app is locking up. Overall, it is fairly reliable.
Pros: I love having all the history in photos available to go back and look at on each asset. you can look in history and find out what other texts have done at this customer site.
Cons: Having to clear the cash and restart Build Opps when it is getting glitchy or locking up. Many times I have lost information when I had to restart the app.

Pros: The Project Management module is not user-friendly. Completing a change order requires too many steps, which discourages us from utilizing this module. While it is cheaper than other operational software, it does offer good value for the money. However, the application of sales tax to invoices is inconsistent. Each month, we have to reconcile to determine which invoices were incorrectly charged sales tax despite being exempt. Additionally, the syncing between our operations and finance software is not consistently reliable. The Purchase Order workflow lacks the necessary automation for manual tasks. We need a bi-directional flow between SAGE and BuildOps. Furthermore, the payment processing system does not allow the business to choose how to handle the absorption of processing fees.

Implementation is long and hard but once you move through it, you will start to see the benefits. BuildOps is continually improving and does listen to customers in planning for improvements. The software has allowed us to move to a paperless system as well.
Pros: I like how streamlined it is, how easy it is to see job costs and ease of invoicing. It has cut down on our time to invoice greatly. We have also increased our quoted repairs as the quote to job feature is seamless.
Cons: I think the PR area is weaker and I wish the Purchasing module allowed you to pick the payment date or offered better terms.

OVerall I would say a vast improvement from what we had. There are alot of improvements that can be made still.
Pros: when inputting data from the web, how quickly it updates across the whole data base and the app. Within seconds
Cons: The onboarding process was very rough. When entering assets from the app, it can take a long time to load. almost not worth doing while onsite for walk throughs. Not being able to quote PM contracts in the software

Overall, I have been impressed with the capabilities and tracking of both the technicians work and how easy it is to locate a certain asset.
Pros: It's a great tool to share with prospective customers on how easy it is for the technicians to have information on each of the assets.
Cons: BuildOps, could be a little more user friendly when inputting assets into the program, there is too much going back and forth and nothing that gives you an opportunity to copy.
Patrick S. · Maintenance Manager · Construction · April 20, 2026
Very good. Progressive company always improving the product for contractors. Customer service is very responsive.
Pros: Ease of use, flexibility with different scopes of work service vs construction. AI functions are helpful when shortening workflows.
Cons: Project functions need a bit more development. They can be clunky and not in line with how quoting is performed in the platform.

I love BuildOps, his Dashboard, the notes that you can leave on everything, the project dashboard, almost everything!!
Pros: The dashboard are easily customizable! Once it is setup you don't have to spend hours searching for some information. Also, [sensitive content hidden] is so helpfull! for small question he always have the right answer so we don't need to bother support only for small information! Support is quick to reply (sometimes less than 10 minutes and I've been answered! ) The payments section is clear and easily useable by seeing all invoices for one customer and to keep track of the payment if a payment agreement is done with a customer. When we sent Live with BuildOps, it took me only a week to learn how to use it!
Cons: Some things should be easily customizable but arent, like the Pay Application. And the fact that once something is exported to our accounting system, can't be exported again if some modification were done.

It's been good. I have seen improvements over the last 2 years that I have worked with it. I have seen one or two of my suggestions implemented.
Pros: Project forecasting is a big plus for us. I also like some of the customer reports we have created for us.
Cons: The tasks functionality needs work. It's basically unusable as it sits. We also do not have a good way to print or export an individual job's forecast. There are a number of pages I have stumbled on that create a table with no way to print or export the data. I would think this functionality would be easy to add. I also think that you should create a self-service web page that allows users to submit a support ticket rather than having to use your phone center. The last time I called, I got the impression that it has been relocated to south Asia?
Doug P. · Project Manager · Construction · April 20, 2026
BuildOps is very convenient and it user friendly, although we have many heart aches when it comes to the slow performance of the website.
Pros: I like that everything is in one place. I can easily navigate and find things that I need. It is very convenient.
Cons: It is consistently slow. Sometimes I have to log out and back in to get it to work. There are times that documents or actions are not saved.
Dana A. · Customer Service Coordinator · Utilities · April 20, 2026
Overall, I like buildops, even though it could be improved. It's easy to use, and I learned how to use it quickly when I first started working at my job. The only issues I have is the customer service from buildops and when it gets really slow sometimes.
Pros: I like how buildops is easy to navigate through and nicely organized for me to use. I can move through everything quickly while multitasking with my emails.
Cons: Sometimes it can lag, and customer support can be better. I feel like it takes several days for an issue to be resolved. A year or two ago, it was easier to get a hold of somebody through a phone call.
Sabrina H. · Sales Admin · Construction · April 17, 2026
Fairly easy but there has been a lot of problems recently. Thankfully tge team has responded to our issues quickly
Pros: Ease of storage and utilizing files on app. Easy to navigate between screens and fields. Responsive customer service.
Cons: Janky if not on strong signal. Multiple issues over the past few weeks. I would like a way to modify after the fact after I close job.

Overall, BuildOps has been a valuable tool for our business, significantly improving our day-to-day operations—especially in invoicing, payment processing, and job tracking. While there are areas for improvement, particularly with reporting and collections functionality, the platform has helped us become more efficient, organized, and customer-focused. With continued enhancements, it has the potential to be an even more powerful all-in-one solution.
Pros: We’ve had a very positive experience using BuildOps for our operations. One of the biggest improvements we’ve seen is in our invoicing efficiency. The platform has streamlined our workflow, reduced delays, and helped ensure invoices are completed and sent out much faster and more accurately. The addition of Payments+ has also been a great benefit. It provides a fast, customer-friendly way to process payments, which has improved our overall customer experience and helped us get paid more quickly. Another major advantage is how easy it is to track quotes and work orders. Having everything in one place gives our team better visibility, improves communication between office and field staff, and helps us stay organized from start to finish on every job. Overall, BuildOps has been a valuable tool in improving efficiency, organization, and customer satisfaction across our business.
Cons: While BuildOps has been beneficial in many areas, there are a few challenges we’ve encountered. Reporting can be difficult to create and customize. It often takes extra time to build reports that provide the specific data we need, and the process isn’t as intuitive as it could be. This can make it harder to quickly pull insights or track performance without additional effort. Another limitation is the lack of a default customer statement feature for collections. Having automated statements available to send to customers would greatly improve efficiency in managing past-due accounts and streamline our collections process.

I do like buildops - not sure what happened but the phone support has been horrible. Seems like the people on the line don't know the product and have to call back constantly. It wasn't like that when we first started
Pros: I liked the simplicity of it. It didn't seem so complicated and I liked that. When you are on call you need it to create and move things along quickly.
Cons: I think some things should " auto fill" to avoid so many steps in making a service ticket. I also think it's lacking like a reminder pop up or like quick reference for customers
Dani D. · Dispatcher · Machinery · April 14, 2026
Pros: Dispatch Search features for job, project, PO, etc. Time tracking Ability to quote jobs within BuildOps Job cost reports
Cons: Lack of AP Automation. Most of the large third party AP automation providers integrate with Sage Intacct but none integrates with BuildOps. AP Automation would be an excellent addition to Buildops. Also, it would be helpful if BuildOps calculated the open $ amounts on PO's. Currently, we have to manually subtract the receipts from the PO amount.
Lenny D. · CFO · Construction · April 14, 2026
We have been with Buildops for 2 years and there are many aspects of the software that are still cumbersome and overly complicated. I would like if they could make the software more customizable for the customer, simplify for customers that don't need all the details (smaller companies)
Pros: The ease of invoicing with the autocorrection of the invoice summary. It helps to explain in layman's terms that is easy to understanding for the AP department.
Cons: Cost-very expensive Overcomplication of service contracts and seeing pricing Lots of steps for PO's, entering the service contracts, and adding new job/visits Profitability is difficult to determine on contracts
Melissa W. · Office Manager · Construction · April 14, 2026
We've been using BuildOps at EM Duggan and overall it's been a solid addition to our workflow. It does exactly what it's supposed to do — keeping our jobs organised, our teams connected, and our scheduling on track. Nothing flashy, but it gets the job done reliably day to day. The interface is straightforward enough for the team to pick up without too much hassle, and having everything in one place has made things noticeably smoother compared to how we managed things before. It's not without its quirks, but for a company like ours it covers the bases we need. Would recommend it to other contractors looking for a dependable field management platform.
Pros: quote generation and sending quotes is easy. I would like to see an automation addition to that function though. it would make life much easier
Cons: reporting functions need work to help with clarity need more crm functions - it is difficult to search a person or property
Kevin P. · sales and technology · Construction · April 14, 2026
I'd rather get a root canal once a week than have to work in BuildOps. The amount of time spent waiting is absolutely ridiculous.
Pros: Personally, I don't like BuildOps at all. I really don't see any pros to using this system..........
Cons: Almost daily there is an issue with one thing or another and it takes forever to get the issue resolved.
Amy B. · Senior Accountant · Mechanical or Industrial Engineering · April 14, 2026
Again just starting and i believe like anything once i get more comfortable with it i will enjoy it more
Pros: Just had a few months to work with but i think the most i like about is being able to add information of ac units to account
Cons: Takes longer to close ticket as there is alot if information we can input and things we can see on ticket , and longer to find ticket in past present and future.
Peter M. · Hvac service technician · Mechanical or Industrial Engineering · April 14, 2026
Overall, my experience with BuildOps has been positive. It has significantly improved our ability to manage service operations, track jobs, and streamline invoicing in one centralized system. While there is a learning curve and occasional system quirks, particularly around updates and syncing with QuickBooks Online, the efficiencies gained in visibility, organization, and billing workflows have made it a valuable tool for our business.
Pros: $7f
Cons: One of the more challenging aspects is when system updates or changes are made during working hours. These can disrupt workflows, especially in accounting and invoicing where timing and consistency are critical. Additionally, some updates feel like they could benefit from more thorough beta testing before being released, as occasional issues or inconsistencies arise that require extra time to troubleshoot. Advance notice and more off-hours deployments would help minimize these disruptions.
Jennifer H. · Service Billing Administrator · Construction · April 14, 2026
Smooth transition to it, with a lot of tools in the system that helps us with our everyday jobs. They also are constantly updating their software and process to allow changes that are needed from feedback!
Pros: It has been a way easier system than our previous CRM. Learning to use it was a quicker adjustment than expected and the esthetics of BuildOps is pleasing.
Cons: There has been a few bugs with it for my techs and we have to clear cache way more often than I would expect to get things to work better again.
