My overall experience with Blender is a good one. The amount of functionality over value I get compared to competitors is unmatched.
Pros: What I like most about Blender is it's availability across platforms. Wether I'm using a Windows PC, or a Linux distro, I know I can use it in either or.
Cons: What I liked least about Blender is that the software can be a somewhat heavy on my system at times.

Having an architecture background, I enjoyed Blender when doing parametric modelling and curvilinear architecture. And it is extremely diverse with great graphics and rendering output. I was really fascinated by its ability to play with windows (duplicate, replace or even create) especially when working on large projects.
Pros: The sheer-ability to do a parametric modelling and ability to create your own workspace, divide and play with windows is the thing I liked the most about Blender.
Cons: Least Liked: Its complex and not easy for beginners. Since its one of the newborn software, it won't run smoothly on old platform even on windows 10.

Overall, this is my go to 3D software, I use it for basically everything in my work. Once you get past the quirks it is one of the most reliable programs that I use
Pros: It does so many things. I use it every day for almost every stage of the game character pipeline for light sculpting, box modeling, UV editing, texturing hand painted textures, retopology, rigging and animation. It has so many other features that I hardly ever use and am still learning about, and it is constantly being updated and improving.
Cons: Sculpting tools and brushes don't 'feel' that great, also it can be buggy if you use subdivisions. Also, the skinning/weight painting system is cumbersome at times.

I have about 6 years of experience using Blender, since version 2.78. The advances made in that time are incredible.
Pros: I love Blender for so many reasons. It's available for free, though contributing to this amazing project is a good idea.
Cons: This isn't really a criticism, but some still view it as not being an industry standard application, although recent feature movies and other things have thankfully proved that wrong.

I love Blender, I mostly use it for hard surface modelling and UV unwrapping - which has always worked so well for me. It took me a while to understand it all and I still have my moments of confusion, but the software is worth every bit of effort.
Pros: For a free software, it has an amazing amount of coverage for all types of industry roads (3D, 2D, Rendering, VFX, Animation, the list goes on) and has amazing features for artists. The software is also frequently updated with new stuff, keeping up with the industry needs and standards.
Cons: Though it is a positive, the amount of stuff it covers can be overwhelming for new users and it takes some time to wrap your head around where everything is - but once you know, it because a valuable tool.

Powerful, free tool. Great for designers doing occasional 3D. It takes a lot of time to learn but the value is really unmatched. I love Blender
Pros: It's free and has insane rendering power (Cycles). The features are better than some paid software. Huge community support! AND also Open source. REally great
Cons: The learning is so long. The interface is overwhelming at first, and linking to other programs is sometimes frustrating. But like any 3D grogram I guess.

I've been working with Blender for 6 years and since I started using it I haven't stopped using it. It has served me for everything, including currently giving workshops related to my art and I use the software as a teaching tool. That's very rich, it's easy for me to break it down and study it, because it's made for the user.
Pros: I have been a Blender user for 6 years, I work in 3D, one of the things I liked most about Blender is its potential as an open source software, generally speaking I have seen the software distributed in another way and seeing its evolution over time seems incredible to me, what I like most is that now it meets the needs of the user according to the type of work that one does in 3D and its segmentation is much better, also all the power it has in each area for example it is quite complete in modeling, sculpting, texturing, and the most incredible thing is the new geometry node, which is a very rich place to create procedural geometries, not to mention the amount of addons and things that it allows you to achieve, it is a program to exploit, I could make a whole sheet saying everything I think, in fact I teach classes with this software and so far my experience has been good
Cons: Blender may be powerful, but I feel that with artificial intelligence it is still behind, however it is still one of the best programs I have tried, I don't know if I have many things to say, because I find it easy, but I am certainly sure that there will be improvements to be made because you can always build more on open source software, and I think they have understood well what did not work in the past.

Blender helps realise my design ideas before anything is constructed. It’s made my ideas more comprehensible to clients, and it’s made closing deals happen
Pros: I like how much creativity it gives me. I have interiors to build out, lighting to tweak and I can show clients realistic renders without spending tons of money on software. The material and light choices are really good.
Cons: It took me a little while to get used to the interface, it’s not all that intuitive at first. I had to watch a lot of tutorials before I was able to really zip around with it.
Pablo R. · Interior Designer · Architecture & Planning · July 15, 2025
I use it Daily and so far to be honest, i have 0 complaints. For a student to be able to use such a software without having to spend any money is a blessing.
Pros: The most important thing is that it is completely free, compared to the other main 3d softwares. The Ui is user friendly. Beginners can use it almost immediately. There is a big blender community, which is good for people that are trying to learn it, looking for help. There is thousands of tutorials on youtube for it. You can do with blender anything you can do on the other softwares.
Cons: For the most part, my experience with blender is great but The simulation's system can be improved more, and the texturing and uv tools could be much better.

Just great, I keep learning everyday and it is quite the challenge to understand all features since it is such a comprehensive software with a huge community
Pros: IT DOES EVERYTHING and with such a beautiful quality and easy interface. I simply love it.
Cons: Some stuff takes a lot of GPU but, it is a software that you can use to do everything.
Federico A. · OWNER · Printing · April 23, 2025
Pros: I like all aspects of Blender. It requires some skills to get the most out of it and create everything you visualize
Cons: Blender is not easy to use nor easy to learn, and it runs very slowly on my computer, glitches and crashes
Keely W. · Photographer · Media Production · April 16, 2025
Very good - easy to use, even for a beginner getting to grips with the software.
Pros: Free and lots of good Youtube tutorial videos to flow and get familiar with creating work in it.
Cons: Not sure if it was the software or limitations with my PC, but even with an 4GB dedicated Nvidia graphics card, it was a little slow at times once adding layering to the 3D models.

Vanessa P. · designer del gioiello · Arts and Crafts · March 5, 2025
My overall experience has been good with blender, It was an easy program to learn and I'm able to model at a faster rate than Maya with faster smoothing features.
Pros: Blender is a fast and ready-to-go software, Im able to do any type of modeling faster than most 3d modeling software. I like how versatile it is.
Cons: The least thing I like about Blender is it's not mainstream in the keyboard shortcuts but is still easy to understand and adjust.
Jennifer S. · owner · Animation · March 5, 2025
Pros: Since Blender is open source, there are constant additions to it hence it has many different types of features which are very helpful, the community is also very active. Since it has such a huge community, assets are really easy to find as well as tutorials
Cons: Can be overwhelming to use for the first time as there a lot of options to create 3D Models, UI is complex for beginners and there is no tutorial sort of stuff in it. Rendering time is also high

Blender is the best free 3d modelling software its always improving and is cross compatible with so many other softwares
Pros: It is always iterating and improving and because its open source its free
Cons: it could do with having a simplified way to texture map i.e box mapping etc

Been using blender for almost 900h, I'll say its a good 3D software WHICH BY THE WAY is free, get constantly update with new things, has a large community which are more then willing to help you and you can download it from steam too. This might be specific but I like to keep a track of "just how much have I used a software"
Pros: The thing I like the most about Blender3D is the community, if you are stuck at something there will always be a guy who has the same problem as you and will have a solution for it.
Cons: Simulations are hard to run, thats the only con, which can be overcome with proxies

I use blender for modeling, UVs, and other 3d asset work.
Pros: Love that it is free and open source. I also am a fan of the philosophy of the team behind it.
Cons: Blender is kind of a jack of all trades master of none. Many things feel like they need a layer of polish.
Mike W. · Programmer · Computer Games · December 8, 2024
Blender is a decent 3D modeling software but doesnt match Maya Autodesk due to limitations
Pros: This program can be used on lightweight machines, yes you wont be able to do as much as you can on something like a gaming computer but its still good to do simple 3D modeling.
Cons: There is no history kept so you cannot make changes to the polygons once you start a new polygon
Haydn C. · VFX Artist · Design · November 30, 2024

More than two years experience with blender program
Pros: Easy and comfortable and many tools and options
Cons: Tools and options user interface easy and convenient
AMJAD M. · Design management · Animation · November 9, 2024
Blown away by the power and scalability of a free program
Pros: The fact that it’s free! This was my introduction to 3D animation and was blown away at the power and amazing results that can be achieved. The blender community is even more powerful with thousands of tutorials online and developers pushing the boundaries.
Cons: The learning curve and complexity of the interface
Greg M. · Digital Media Producer · Telecommunications · November 7, 2024
I used Blender for a few personal projects while I was learning more about 3D modeling. I didn’t use it for too long since I eventually moved away from this area, even though I really enjoyed it. Anyway, regarding the tool, I loved it—no crashes during any of my projects, and some of them were quite heavy. It truly offers an endless array of options, from geometric shapes to different types of shadow rendering, light positioning, camera angles, and more. I highly recommend it.
Pros: I liked that Blender offers many options for modeling, especially for hard surface modeling. I haven't used it as much for character modeling, but it's an incredible tool for creating environments, objects, armor, and so on. Additionally, I found it to be a software with excellent rendering quality and lighter than others I've used before.
Cons: Eu diria que a curva de aprendizado no software não é tão simples, pois tem muitas variáveis no uso, porém depois que você aprende, já fica tudo automático.
Paulo C. · modeler · Animation · November 6, 2024
My experience has been incredible. Everything I know now about 3d art, I first learned through blender use. I learned with their animation tools, modeling tools, texturing tools, and rendering tools.
Pros: I love that blender is free, open source, and the entrance place for a lot of artists. It lends to such an open and fresh creative community of new developers and 3d artists. Blender is also an extremely performant renderer.
Cons: I think blenders animation tools could use work. They don't really match up to the industry standard like some of their other tools.
