LibreOffice would meet the requirements of writing the documents and organizing the files of Guide Marketing as well as will not require another recurrent line of expenses which I would have to explain. It will work without fuss on simple professional writing and basic spreadsheet work.
Pros: The ability to have a complete suite of fully functional document and spreadsheet that I can open any file type that a client sends to me any time at no cost is something I do more and more appreciate and the longer I operate my lean agency.
Cons: The interface slows me down as it allows navigation in outdated ways. It takes more menu hunting than it ever should to find certain features, which I need to accomplish quite often.

Overall, my experience with LibreOffice has been very positive. It is stable, powerful, and more than sufficient for the majority of academic research tasks, from drafting manuscripts to preparing figures and tables for publication. Once properly set up, it integrates smoothly into a daily research workflow. While it may require occasional workarounds for advanced formatting or collaboration-heavy projects, its strengths, openness, and cost-free availability far outweigh these limitations. I consider LibreOffice a dependable and ethical productivity suite for researchers, especially those committed to open standards and reproducible research.
Pros:

Domain confidence 100%
Cons: The main downside is that compatibility with Microsoft Office is not always perfect, especially for very complex documents with advanced formatting, tracked changes, or heavily styled tables. Occasionally, layout issues appear when exchanging files back and forth multiple times. The user interface, while functional, can also feel less polished or less intuitive than some commercial alternatives, particularly for new users. Some advanced features exist but are not always easy to discover, which can slow down workflows unless you already know where to look or customize the interface.

LibreOffice is the best alternative for those switching from Windows to a Linux system or for those who no longer want to pay the ransom fees that Microsoft imposes for Office 365. I couldn't be happier.
Pros: LibreOffice is a fully featured office suite that competes well with similar Microsoft and Google products. But, LibreOffice is free, making is the best value available. It is as easy to set up and learn as any other software without all of the security doubt that comes with browser based software. Navigation of the Office suite works just as expected due to it being available on every platform for the same cost...$0!
Cons: LibreOffice is not laden with AI tools, which could be a pro, but it also doesn't offer much in the case of writing assistance. Customer support for LibreOffice is only handled by the open community. File organization is strange in the Linux version, but that is to be expected.

Very satisfied with this alternative to OFFICE, which handles about 90% of everything I need for productivity. I am in the TEXT document every single day multiple times, and use the Sheets function every morning. I've used it for several years and am very satisfied with this software.
Pros: I use LibreOffice every day to write and save documents and sheets. It is a great value for the free plan, easy to use due to familiarity and has all the features I need for my business.
Cons: The constant upgrades can gum up the system, and the formating doesn't always translate into other files.

It is my best choice since I started working on the Linux Ubuntu Laptop operating system and did not have interest in Microsoft Office or other similar projects.
Pros: It is a great tool for document editing, and a very light memory footprint, which is a high value all for free, with ease of use and simplicity comparable to proprietary software like Microsoft Office, and it provides may customization functions and navigation options that can help writing and creating in many packages.
Cons: Sometimes I find it not the best to have a clear and simple user interface, and the work using the writer is overwhelming.

It's a great piece of software if you want something that works offline and isn't trying to shove AI into your process.
Pros: It's free and works offline. I often need something that can make quick edits, and the loading time of the programme is very good.
Cons: I'm not sure that it has the best interface and can be frustrating to use when you are more familiar with another type of software.

Overall, I've continued to use it because the benefits way outweigh the costs. I would highly recommend it to anyone who doesn't have the budget to pay for software for documents, sheets and presentations.
Pros: I love that I can access are complete office for free and it can export into various formats that are usable in other popular programs. I've never had a problem with creating any documents or with anyone being able to read them upon my sending them. I've been using LibreOffice for years and have yet to have to pay for a word proccessing software.
Cons: The cons I would say are most noticeable in the powerpoint version of the software. Often times the formatting doesn't exactly transfer over, or if I open a powerpoint file in libreoffice sometimes things go wonky and features are lost.

Quite a good impression, needs more effort to match up with ms office compatibility. Certain common features or functionality in MS office are not available.
Pros: Catching up as an alternate app to Microsoft office. It can open up ms office file without much problem.
Cons: Found a few glitches on opening slide in .odp file: 1) if larger fonts are used, they seem to get condensed with character overlapping one another, totally unreadable. 2) unable to have section title for a group of slides like MS PowerPoint. Section can be expanded and collapse, and facilitate navigation during slide show. Am I missing any LibreOffice similar features?

Libreoffice is the free open source version of Microsoft products. And I use Libreoffice Calc (Excel) and writer (word) daily
Pros: Libreoffice calc is the equivalent of Microsoft Excel. It does everything I needed Excel to do as a basic user and its free.
Cons: Never tried to email support, as I haven't come up with any bugs or errors, but being free and open source, I doubt there is support

Editorial passes were content‑oriented since changes were readily identifiable and assimilated, and offline work prevented distraction from intensive manuscript revisions.
Pros: Changes and comments are easily readable during peer review, and saving in standard file types keeps co-authors in sync under varied editing environments.
Cons: Compatibility with a few editors may shift tracked changes or styling, so testing is prudent before submitting external drafts for review.

In using the software over the last 3-4 years, I've found it a great alternative to Microsoft Office and I appreciate the fact that it is constantly being reviewed and updated by the developers that volunteer their time.
Pros: It is a great tool for small businesses on a tight budget. Though it is a free software, it has many of the features common to Microsoft applications.
Cons: The slight differences in macros and function shortcut keys commonly used in Microsoft takes a little getting used to, but they are not hurdles that cannot be overcome. The lack of a dedicated staff, is the one major drawback because issues are addressed as people want to work on them instead of from a targeted plan.

Pros: LibreOffice provides me with reliable applications to work on my documents and spreadsheets. It can deal with big texts and complicated calculations easily and this favor me in the ability to have my files in different formats.
Cons: When I import files used in a different suite, there are unpredicted formatting patterns. I have also encountered certain bumps of saving files in particular formats.
NOREDDINE A. · Senior Coordinator · Higher Education · July 21, 2025
LibreOffice is a competent, free choice of document creation with robust formatting capability yet functionality for converting macros in complex Excel documents may be poor.
Pros: LibreOffice Writer performed complicated works with own styles, cross references, tables of contents and footnotes without additional plug-ins and license fee issues allowing me to make everything fit exactly to my academic format requirements.
Cons: Opening some close-to-Excel files that used Visual Basic scripts some macro will not run and I have to edit the formula manually.

It enabled us to supply the entire staff with workplace tools at no incremental cost and allocate the budget to core telecom software instead.
Pros: Our billing spreadsheets and reports are managed by LibreOffice Calc. The PDF export is great for customer invoices.
Cons: Vendor-supplied Excel files sometimes don’t format correctly, and macro compatibility is spotty. That's an issue for me.

I like it over all. It has been crashing recently though. The document recovery tool comes in handy when that happens.
Pros: It's free to download and offers all the products that Microsoft Office has this makes it a very good alternative to those whose subscriptions have run out or don't want to pay to be able to create multiple types of documents and spreadsheets.
Cons: It is a little different than how Microsoft Office works so there is a bit of a learning curve. Going back and forth between the two (one at work and one at home) can cause some confusion and headaches sometimes.

A great, affordable alternative to Microsoft Word. It requires extra effort to save the documents to make them Word-compatible, but the rest of the experience is smooth.
Pros: The freeware setup gives as many options as Microsoft Word.
Cons: Saving documents requires additional steps to make them compatible with Microsoft Word.

I have not used it in about ten years. I am glad I discovered it. If it were not for Capterra i would have forgotten about it.
Pros: It installs really fast. It is a great alternative to Word that is so expensive. I am glad I found something that is not office and it is not open office. I think open office is not bad but this version of Libre has more file saving formats.
Cons: I had forgotten about it. I have been a bard for a long time and I am a published author so i should have known about this.

Satisfied with Libre Office - it saves a ton of money and is easy to use. Sufficient if you are just using Word, Spreadsheets and Presentations.
Pros: It's free to use, and very closely resembles Microsoft Office 365 in features. MS Office costs a lot of money to buy for multiple users.
Cons: If you use Libre Office, you should convert the files to docx / pdf before sharing with someone, else receivers get confused as they are not familiar with the file extensions

Pros: Has good features and options to crete and edit the documents
Cons: Not mamy options for graphical user interface objects

Very positive over all. It is a great alternative for my clients who do not want to pay for Microsoft Office.
Pros: The fact that it is free is what my clients like best about it. Most people do not need the advanced features available in Microsoft Word or Excel and so this office productivity suite works beautifully. Also I love that it will open up so many different types of files.
Cons: Not much to complain about with this software. I guess the look and feel of the product is my least favorite thing. It feels like something I programmed when I first learned to program in the 90s.

I am fully happy with LibreOffice. It helped me to save a lot of money.
Pros: It is free and powerfully enough for any home user or small business.
Cons: A bit different than excel but you get used to it very quickly

LibreOffice offers a complete set of office tools that performs exceptionally well in team collaboration settings involving many members
Pros: The software allows users to create edit and manage different types of documents at no cost which makes it suitable for people and organizations operating with financial limitations.
Cons: The program's free cost is its main benefit but it lacks the ability to connect with modern workplace tools.
