It removes the possibility of workers being inaccurate due to using outdated drawings. No longer are we plagued with slow VPN speeds while trying to load our models into our system, that was a complete nightmare.
Pros: Having all my plans and specifications on hand is convenient, whether I’m at the office or in the field, because it allows me to access them instantly anywhere I go without carrying all the paper. Unfortunately the bus has been delayed and I’m famished, so this will be very short. It’s also a good thing that the office and the field now both see the same information in a way that is pleasing and good.
Cons: The Tool seems like it was made by engineers, but not for those of us who actually do the work. The Field Tool takes too long to navigate and I do not like that there isn’t a method to delete a finished old project from your project list permanently. Why should I have to click three small dots to open the Timeline? That is a huge time waster.

This allows us to have written justification for making a change of schedule and it covers my ass if things go sour. And all I have to do now is take photos or scan any handwritten field notes and as you can see, everything we need to know is right there on the glass.
Pros: This works well as a means to see what the other trades are working on from the tablet. Maybe the tags are fast enough to create so I am not spending the whole day staring at the screen. Today I showed a man how to use it within about 2 minutes.

Cons: When using a laptop track pad instead of a real mouse the lag is absolutely crushing. I have no idea how to print out a Gantt Chart with the actual tickets on it so why even try to print it. When printed out, it looks very poor on paper. I also cannot get the predecessor arrows to always point to the bottom of the ticket and at times it will appear like a mess of spider webs.

Prevents the PM from calling me to ask about the daily log every 5 minutes. Allows us to sign contracts remotely, without returning to the office. The archive keeps track of the project history so that if we are sued, we will know what occurred. Bridges the gap between our remote field location and the rest of the company.
Pros: I am writing this on my mobile device using one hand as I wait for the concrete truck to arrive and will be brief. I was surprised by how long the offline version would allow me to keep running after losing internet service in the elevator shaft (usually software crashes at once). The fact that it allows me to view the drawings and specifications prevents me from looking like an idiot in front of the subcontractors. When I call them (rarely), they answer the phone.
Cons: Sync speed is slow. There are times where it just continues to spin, spinning, spinning, when I try to load a large drawing file and I do not have time for that.
Andrey S. · Chief Executive Officer · Information Technology and Services · December 17, 2025
It reduces the time I waste looking for information, since everything that I log in the field is instantly available to the rest of my team. All in all it keeps my docs clean, speeds up my workflow and makes my life a lot easier.
Pros: What I love most about Field View is how it allows me to have everything from site information, inspections and notes at my fingertips rather than sifting through emails or paper files. I use it all the time on my tablet as I walk around the job site, snapping photos, logging issues and checking tasks off as they’re complete.
Cons: The syncing can be quite slow if the connection isn't great and it can be frustrating and the pictures don’t always upload quickly and a slow load time can interrupt my flow when I am working to document things swiftly.

My experience with FV been great most of the time, however, the system sometimes take time to reload and that make people wonder and sometimes unhappy
Pros: the system is user friendly, the browser version is straight forwarded and easy to find what you are looking for.
Cons: Take long in reload, you can not recover deselected question inside the forms, you cannot delete users from the business unit only de-activate them. The tablet version is not straight forwarded to find the location and processes,

Pros: Integrationally easy, very versatile tool my team is about to use.
Cons: N/A. Haven’t had too many complaints about it!

field view meets our requirements of having a software to capture data and produce good quality reports.
Pros: The reports. They're clear, concise and exactly what we need to deliver to clients.
Cons: Still need to use old field view for a lot of functions, but it can be painfully slow.
Alexander b. · Electrical Engineer · Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing · May 16, 2024
Pros: We have used Fieldview for over 5 years in the industry, noticing more and more taking on this software. It is easy to use alongside other users, sharing fields and forms. It's user friendly for workers out on the field.
Cons: not able to remove users that appear on the distribution list when allocated to the project at any capacity, creating a long list to go through each time.
Sarah B. · Finance Director · Construction · February 16, 2024
Overall our experience with fieldview has been positive.
Pros: We like the ease of use of the forms on the fieldview app, and how customisable inspection report outputs are.
Cons: It can be quite clunky and slow to set up projects from an admin perspective.
Calum T. · Business Services Manager · Management Consulting · February 14, 2024
Pros: Really useful tool to help comply with all the requirements of clients and specifications. Once set up, it will help with all the snagging and tasks
Cons: You have to use Fieldview classic to edit or make some changes to the forms which isn't set out the best way and can be confusing.
Younas M. · Site Engineer · Civil Engineering · January 18, 2024
Pros: the variety of functions available to use from accounting to construction management.
Cons: the short description fields and not being able to use more characters when describing items
kate c. · Commercial Admin · Construction · January 12, 2024
I think Field View Relies to heavily on battery and Internet. Field View desperately needs full functionality on PC.
Pros: Less paperwork. Easily accessible for all parties
Cons: Field view, full functionality can only be using in tablet form. Not all documentation in construction across all parties use field view meaning alot of information required for our field view documents is on the PC making the process long winded and tedious as the tablet needs to be connected to the PC allow for transfers. If field view had full functionality on PC it would make the hole experience a lot smoother. Also having the ability to print a blank document from Field View would be beneficial. Over the year we've had a couple of experience where the tablet has run out of juice during a safe start. And a couple of times where the Internet in the area is not good or has gone down, this will not allow Field View to open as the tablet requires a sync before opening. Again not good during a safe start or during a QA check with the client.

Not good, we are actively looking to switch right now.
Pros: Storing information is easy, reports are able to be run.
Cons: It is not user friendly, things do not update easily and have to be hand entered.
Ashley P. · HR Generalist · Construction · January 10, 2024
Pros: Easy to read and manage between tasks. I use this app daily for work.
Cons: Freezes frequently. Gets hung up, many times items and time entered do not stay and need to be re-entered.
Kathleen L. · Office administrator · Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing · January 10, 2024
Pros: The cost and ease of use for the field individuals is very good. Mobile functionality is easy to navigate and data does sync without any major issues.
Cons: Set up process is a bit difficult for the limited functionality of the tool. The lack of integration with Viewpoint Teams is also a detriment.
Eddie W. · Senior Project Manager · Construction · January 10, 2024
Pros: - Ease of Use. - Easy to track. - Storage of documents. - Good notification system.
Cons: - Multiple log in pages. - Quick enforced automatics log off. - Not working on some sites. - Help line takes long.
Ahmed W. · Project Manager · Construction · January 10, 2024
Pros: Relatively simple to use. Once know way around can be simple
Cons: Syncing poor, notifications excessive and not necessarily always relevant. Adding snags long winded and cumbersome
Tom E. · Site Manager · Construction · January 10, 2024
very good, customer service from all departments is to a high standard. all products are very good in the construction game everyone uses them daily and it makes our work/job easier
Pros: i like the high level of customer service we get if something needs sorting or we need help. the constant development of the products with all the updates and releases making all the small changes that make huge different
Cons: when im working fast on ipad it crashes sometimes
Jake J. · QA manager · Construction · January 10, 2024
We do not use it anymore. We evaluated and are using Autodesk Build now.
Pros: Our field users liked the product and it worked well.
Cons: The setup of users is a pain. This software was not directly connected to Vista or Team. It was a stand alone product from Viewpoint. Could not right RFI's in Field View. Had to do this in Team.
Joe S. · Project Solutions Manager · Construction · January 5, 2024
Field View is one of those products that are hard to setup, and very solid there after. We've had minimal issues have the system was setup to our liking. Most issues were either user error and rare ones that were not we delt with quickly by support. The menu structure is something that could use some work.
Pros: The main reason we use Field View is that we intent to have it connected to our other Viewpoint products for easy syncing. Everything works as it's intended. Once everything has been setup, issues are rare and most can be resolved by tweaking form that were made by Operations.
Cons: The 2 biggest cons of this product are cost and it's not easy to setup.
George L. · IT Manager · Construction · January 5, 2024
Overall our experiences were good. We were able to get more users involved in filling out and correcting issues and even doing forms on a regular basis.
Pros: Once you got past the setup the ease of use was simple. We had tons of buy in from subs and foremen on all jobs to use this product.
Cons: The admin side and getting users into the system was a major pain for deployment.
Matt K. · Project Solutions Manager · Construction · January 5, 2024
Our company implemented field view for Punchlist and Quality Management first. From there it was expanded to forms like time and material sheets for subcontractors. We also used it as a notification / request system to the project owner in some instances. We took several forms required by the owner and digitized them in FieldView to create more automated processes. Overall we have found that the system has some of the features we need but simply not enough ability to be customized completely.
Pros: Punchlists, forms with workflows, integrated photos
Cons: Customization of tasks and forms were limited and challenging to figure out. Notification settings can’t be modified -I.e sends at 2am only 1x
Lindsay M. · Project Engineer · Construction · January 5, 2024
Very difficult to set-up, create forms etc, Assistance was sought few years ago and was offered at price to expensive to company. It now looks like company is moving to Synchro but it my not be too late to reign in if creation of forms for 'Quality Checks' could be mobilised.
Pros: Emails data, outputs and reports to Viewpoint - reducing admin around records
Cons: Horrific Set-up time and difficulty levels.
Joe F. · Design Delivery manager · Civil Engineering · January 5, 2024
Pros: Easy to access and load into the different files.
Cons: The search bar doesnt search the required documents.
thomas c. · Sub Agent · Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing · January 5, 2024
Pros: mobile functionality, enabling on-site data capture and real-time collaboration
Cons: While customization is a strength, complex configurations might be challenging for some users
