Netwrix PolicyPak picks up where Group Policy and MDM services like Intune leave off. Remove local admin rights, manage USB sticks, migrate on-prem Group Policy to Cloud and MDM, control applications, browsers, and operating system settings without disrupting user productivity. The solution fills gaps in traditional endpoint management and consistently delivers policies that Group Policy and Intune cannot, and maintain consistent configurations wherever users work.

The issue of not trusting that your endpoint based policies are being implemented consistently across your entire organization. As people work remotely or off vpn, traditional group policy doesn’t really cut it and therefore your machines are out of compliance, but you don’t know until something goes wrong with them. The Netwrix EPM handles that by enforcing policies regardless of where the machine is located and that’s important to our compliance requirements.
Pros: Policy enforcement - the ability to enforce endpoint based policy is my favorite feature. This greatly helps my team that spans several remote locations. Prior to using the Netwrix EPM, i was constantly struggling with group policies being inconsistent, some machines were not connected to the network when receiving updates, etc. The Netwrix EPM solved those issues. The application control also works fine - not perfectly but it works fine. Setup of basic policies was faster than i would have expected from such a complex product.
Cons: There is a steep learning curve when implementing any policy other than a simple policy. When trying to work quickly this is frustrating. There is also an aggressive licensing detection. one example of this was when i had a legitimate instance flagged and it took several days to resolve, which is less than ideal when your endpoint policies are dependent upon it. A petty complaint but the reporting could tell me a lot more than it currently does - i would love to see exactly what policy fired on which machine at what time and currently i’m spending way too much time clicking around to get that information.

It takes less than an entire day to configure the enrollment portion. It properly manages the shared iPhone use by all employees and the return to service application will reset the phone so the next shift won’t view the previous user’s data. It corrected the password syncing issues we had using local accounts and SSO; previously this was causing many headaches.
Pros: Smart Groups aren’t bad as far as organizing the fleet of devices. The zero touch enrollments aren’t terrible either and allow us to get these macs configured without having to sit at each keyboard. So far they’ve been somewhat useful in allowing me to keep the CISO from calling me about compliance and patching.
Cons: Honestly the interface is very disorganized. When scrolling down the header information disappears making it difficult to know what your viewing. We seem to be switching out account representatives every 5 minutes so I need to tell them how everything is configured within the system yearly. Can’t I simply select multiple policies at one time versus selecting each individual policy (crazy).

Previously, we enforced endpoint policies using manual checks and spreadsheets that none of us could rely upon. The Netwrix Endpoint Management tool provides a centralized solution for enforcing endpoint policies. Once a policy is created, it can be distributed out to all endpoints and a single view exists for identifying which endpoints comply with the policy and which ones do not. In addition to endpoint management, this tool also manages software distribution and privileges.
Pros: The ability to make different policies for different pieces of equipment is by far the most important feature. This is because you can put rules into effect for particular computers or subgroups within your company without affecting other areas. We have several different departments, therefore many different requirements. I am going to take advantage of my bus being late and write some thoughts here regarding the Zero-Touch Deployment. Compliance Reporting has reduced our time to report compliance greatly. Support has provided us great assistance as needed and our wait times for them to respond were relatively fast.
Cons: It has a really high learning curve. There is no warning that there will be a high learning curve when purchasing this. Prior knowledge of how to configure the correct policies initially is required, or lots of trial and error while trying to complete tasks. The Dashboard is functional, but difficult to pass along to anyone that doesn’t know IT well; Non-Technical employees don’t understand it. Pet peeve; when scrolling through various inventory views sometimes the column headings go away, and then you’re lost again.

The product solves many problems related to managing multiple computers throughout the company’s offices. Prior to deploying the Netwrix Endpoint Policy Manager we were constantly dealing with inconsistent Policies across various locations. For example; Some employees had incorrect Browser Preferences installed, while others had Local Administrator Rights that they should not have had.
Pros: What I like about Netwrix Endpoint Policy Manager is that it allows me to deploy policies to end points without needing to physically go to each computer. In fact after finishing a very long shift my keyboard keys are sticking at least on half the letters and I was still able to successfully deploy three policy changes before even leaving the office. That is the whole idea – Once configured you can then centrally manage ALL of your end points from ONE location – Lockdown End Point Settings, Determine User Permissions on the End Points and it will apply automatically. No longer will you have to chase down employees nor explain Remote via Phone how to accomplish something.
Cons: I am not too fond of the User Interface (UI) of Netwrix. The UI may not be as user-friendly for new staff as some of the other products available. There is a Learning Curve associated with using the Netwrix Endpoint Policy Manager Product. Sometimes you get someone that understands your issue and gives you accurate information. Lastly the Licensing Model for Netwrix seems to be a bit arbitrary. It appears that whenever you want to add additional features it costs you more money per license.

I finally got rid of the "everyone gets admin rights" hellish nightmare, which resulted in everyone yelling at the help desk. This solved many issues we have with Microsoft Endpoint Manager on our off-domain laptops. I fixed the Teams startup problem so the users stop complaining about it constantly popping up on their screen.
Pros: In reality I thought the Browser Router would be a complete disaster but worked perfectly. The Least Privilege manager does allow users to do their own updates (so they don’t have to bother me).
Cons: The cost for VDI-based licensing becomes very expensive when you go over 100 pooled systems; and the cost per device is hard to sell to my finance group.

This is a great product, and the support team truly stands out. If you encounter any issues, their response is fast, professional, and consistently helpful. They’re not only quick to reply but also genuinely willing to assist, often going the extra mile to resolve problems efficiently. Whether it's troubleshooting, configuration guidance, or general questions, the support experience adds significant value to the overall offering.
Pros: The ability to apply the same settings and policies to both on-premises and Intune-managed cloud devices—without having to build everything twice or maintain separate environments—is a major advantage. For on-premises deployments, the software does not require any special management server; it simply uses Group Policy, resulting in very low maintenance overhead.
Cons: While the product excels in settings management, its capabilities for software deployment are quite limited. Other solutions offer more robust and flexible deployment features, making them a better fit for that aspect of endpoint management.
