Cons: minor translation-regionalisation stuff, and some standard mobile player items which could be improved

It's a great tool that is easy to use and can create professional looking courses in a short amount of time. It has tesxt to speech voice over that is professional sounding.
Pros: It's easy to use and can be used to create professional looking courses quickly. It has awesome interactive elements and a good media library.
Cons: Sometimes it takes a few tries to get what I want when using the AI assistant. The focus order in rise's custom blocks still needs improvement.

Pros: I used the Rise 360 platform within Articulate 360 to author a course for asynchronous teacher training on an educational technology tool. I liked that I was able to quickly and easily create a professional looking course that included all the features I wanted. It allowed me to create required checkpoints, use a variety of features, and export to a Moodle instance for completion. Customer support was responsive and answered my questions. I like that there were lots of options within the suite, including the more in-depth video creation and detailed interactive tools available in Storyline. Rise was sufficient for my needs.
Cons: The price - it is very expensive to subscribe. I tested it out on the free trial and while it's excellent and probably the highest quality on the market, the cost is absolutely out of reach for small private schools, independent consultants, and other small-time players. It's disappointing that excellent tools aren't available if you don't have a huge budget.

Overall, my experience with Articulate 360 has been highly positive and productive. The suite provides a comprehensive set of tools that allows my instructional design team to efficiently meet varied production needs. While there are some standard learning curves with the advanced features, the platform's continued updates, like the recent improvements to Rise customization, demonstrate Articulate's commitment to solving user pain points. For professionals who require the flexibility to create advanced, engaging learning content that genuinely stands out, Articulate 360 is the most powerful and reliable option available today.
Pros: What I like most about Articulate 360 is the relentless commitment to continuous feature growth. The ecosystem allows for the quick and effective creation of modern, engaging learning content. Storyline 360 remains my favorite tool and the core reason for my high recommendation. After 15 years in the training industry, Storyline is the most powerful authoring tool I have used. I love nothing more than "overengineering" things with triggers, variables, states and layers. Having complete creative control to build truly custom, complex content like detailed branching scenarios and realistic simulations sets it leaps and bound apart from your basic powerpoint.
Cons: Historically, the inability to fully customize the look and feel of Rise 360 courses was a drawback, often requiring a reliance on Storyline for greater design freedom. However, the introduction of custom blocks has solved this constraint, allowing us to maintain brand consistency and design flexibility without sacrificing the speed of Rise.

Pros: Ease of use and efficient in creating professional and engaging training opportunities. Can create courses with endless variety.
Cons: Rise really needs a glossary function. Variables can be very tricky to learn and master. Keep the great templates for course creation in both tools coming.
Treva B. · Instructional Designer · Hospital & Health Care · November 21, 2025
Overall, easy to learn, I like the creative options available (like using the animations and triggers to create unique experiences.
Pros: Ease of use and options available for course creation. I also like how it is the professional standard with the industry.
Cons: I have been happy with all the features it has to offer. I cant think of anything that I like the least about Articulate.
Jenny B. · Multimedia Designer · Airlines/Aviation · November 21, 2025
10/10 would highly recommend. It has really boosted my ability to create engaging learning content. Excellent authoring tool.
Pros: I love the fact that it allows me to customize my learning designs, really there are no limits - only my imagination.
Cons: I cannot use it on Mac seamlessly. I wish there was a way to integrate the software application on macbooks.
Andrae F. · Content Developer II · Construction · November 21, 2025
I use storyline and rise at work and love getting to build training courses, performance support materials and interactive job aids.
Pros: Ease of use. Flexible and empowering tool without being cumbersome or intimidating. Can easily build professional training without needing a phd in the tool.
Cons: Speed at which new features are introduced. There are some posts in the community asking for the same things for years.
Kyle S. · Enterprise Program Lead · Oil & Energy · November 18, 2025
We use Articulate 360 in many ways: to create e-learnings, videos, e-books, branching scenarios. Customer service is very responsive and it's also easy to find answers to most questions by searching online (because it is a commonly used tool). I do like the new Ai features, but think that there could be some improvements (see above for improvements).
Pros: Rise is user friendly. Storyline is easily customizable. Ai voiceover is realistic. Ai text editing is accurate. Easy to create videos in storyline by adding images and animations. Can use proprietary information and know it's secure. Timely and responsive customer support. Also open to user feedback and make updates regularly.
Cons: Ai image generator is not that great- most of the images don't look realistic. Ai translation of Japanese is also not great. Localization is not very easy to use. Ai content creation from source document can be improved.

Having used Articulate 360, and particularly Storyline for close to a decade, after extensive use of competing products, it is the best choice in an authoring program for eLearning, The functionality, which includes layers, triggers, states, and variables provides a flexibility and creative possibilities that can’t be found in any other authoring tools. The customer support is amazing. Their eLearning Heroes community is responsive and supportive far beyond anything I have experienced from any other software company. And it keeps getting better, with continuous significant, upgrades, including AI now build right into Storyline.
Pros: Versatility: can be used to do about anything I imagine. Storyline provides a group of features I can't find in any other authoring program: layers, triggers, states, and variables
Cons: Hard to get a seat at their presentations at conferences. The learning curve goes on forever, but that's really a good thing, because Storyline can do so much.
John M. · instructional designer · Professional Training & Coaching · November 18, 2025
Pros: It helps make course creation seamless. I use it everyday to author elearning courses. They are engaging, effective, and attractive.
Cons: I would like even more customization options. Primarily I would like more options regarding quizzing and testing capabilities.
Clare S. · Instructional Designer · Hospital & Health Care · November 17, 2025
I was introduced to the Articulate 360 suite in my graduate Instructional Design program. I have gone on to use it my workplace as a Training Specialist. I love the flexibility that these tools have to create tailor-made training items for my specific needs.
Pros: Learning how to create courses and publish them has a gentle learning curve for new users. If you can make a PowerPoint, you can create a Storyline module. Rise has seamless options for including Storyline module or other pieces of media.
Cons: The included assets are limited (characters, for example), and I have to go outside the software for most images.
Morgen F. · Training Specialist · Pharmaceuticals · November 14, 2025
I sometimes enjoy it and am sometimes frustrated. It's very powerful. But it feels like it lags behind modern times sometimes. I would like to make training that looks more like YouTube and Tiktok
Pros: Lots of people use it, review tool is easy to use. Allows for custom JavaScript and xAPI. Can create beautiful courses. Custom block in Rise looks dope. Rise is a nice tool for content developers who have weaker graphic design skills.
Cons: Branching in Storyline is very hard I need dark mode in Storyline development because I get migraines. Accessibility should be for designers too. Can't get question banks transfered from external vendor in Rise Replay video functionality breaks quiz review, I want to make more video exams, plz fix
Jenny S. · Online Learning Instructional Design Manager · Financial Services · November 14, 2025
It’s allowed my company to jump into the online learning game before our competitors. And we give it good work.
Pros: User friendly and easy to get up and running with development. Allows features without being overwhelming.
Cons: Nothing really, software performance is good. Maybe a little more AI integration. …
Troy Andre D. · Training Manager · Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing · November 14, 2025
I’ve been a user for over 5 years. I enjoy all of the enhancements over the last couple of years to help with development speed.
Pros: Storyline accessibility checker, AI voices and caption; ease of use. I also love the helpful community through eLearning Heroes.
Cons: Not available natively on Mac; no monthly payment subscription; I also wish it had a more robust app to capture simulations
Tiffany R. · Sr Instructional Designer · Consumer Services · November 14, 2025
My overall experience is great! Articulate has allowed me to bring training to life in a way that I would not have been able to do so without a coding and graphic design background.
Pros: I like the fact that they have two platforms that fit different styles of elearning needs. Both platforms are customizable and allows you to easily bring your learning vision to life.
Cons: I dislike that Articulate storyline can sometimes be a little glitchy. We have a rule that you should save your work every three changes just in case the system glitches and closes.
Alexandria J. · Sr. Learning Designer · Financial Services · November 14, 2025
I mostly work with articulate rise and appreciate the ease of adding interactive to the instruction I create
Pros: I appreciate the opportunity to access an experiment with an array of publishing tools. I use Rise for the quick production of instructional content and Storyline for exploration
Cons: I appreciate that the interactive blocks in Rise offer the best interactions that storyline offers, but I wish there were more.
Anonymous User · Instructional designer online · Design · November 14, 2025
Overall, the experience has been positive. I’ve had the opportunity to use it in a few different industries and the suite allows for creative solutions to challenging material.
Pros: It allows for a bevy of creative opportunities to design engaging learning opportunities. It’s especially helpful for elearning development.
Cons: I find it annoying when a product update is sent out before it is ready. It’s frustrating when users are used as beta testers.
Corinne D. · Instructional Designer · Hospital & Health Care · November 14, 2025
I use it every day - I have fun using it, and can design rapidly and efficiently and creat engaging and useful content
Pros: The seamless integration of it’s applications to create limitless possibilities for creative design for learning
Cons: Really, nothing! Everything about Articulate works so well. I use all of its main components daily with no issues.
Lorie F. · Instructional Designer · Construction · November 13, 2025
This is a wonderful platform that has a robust set of tools. From the training creation of Rise and Storyline, to the fantastic SME feedback tool of Review 360, my needs are met daily as an instctional designer with this suite!
Pros: The ability to create engaging training content that uses mutlimedia for a better learner experience.
Cons: The tool struggles with SharePoint files, which our organization uses a lot. This requires us to use local files, which makes it more difficult to work on a Storyline 360 project effectively.
Erik L. · L and D Specialist · Health, Wellness and Fitness · November 13, 2025
It’s been wonderful. I truly enjoy using the product and I love how it is always advancing! I can’t wait to see more of the ai!
Pros: How easy it is to use. I have really enjoyed using the ai feature! I’m happy that it speeds up my development time and accessibility!
Cons: I wish it automatically saved. I have lost a few courses because I have forgotten to save it and my computer has crashed!
Jennifer W. · Instructional designer · Utilities · November 13, 2025
Articulate is an overall great product to develop quickly and the aesthetics and navigations work very smoothly.
Pros: I love Rise and have used it with several companies. It’s very easy to use for course creation. It seems the company is staying current with updates, continually adding features like AI assist.
Cons: I appreciate the current accessibility features within the products, but do wish Storyline’s accessibility had color contrast working.
Jenn G. · Manager, Curriculum Quality Assurance · Higher Education · November 13, 2025
Overall, it’s been fantastic… we have been able to create impactful learning experiences for many different departments in our company.
Pros: The flexibility to create any different types of training – very interactive or simplistic. I love that I can create learning for others and creative way, but also use strong. Technology and articulate gives lots of opportunities for that.
Cons: I do not like the content Library and some of the development in the building can be more confusing as a new person
Gerri T. · Instructional designer · Logistics and Supply Chain · November 13, 2025
Great! There’s room for improvement but overall happy with the platform. Looking forward to autoversioning on the LMS.
Pros: Rapid development. Code block unlocks unlimited potential. I like template block functionality as well.
Cons: Want the ability to publish once and then push any updates on Rise automatically to our LMS without reexporting/republishing
