This system has 1 good feature it is faster to access certain things but the navigation, product development and ease of access to things I need to do my job efficiently in a timely manner is sorely lacking and it feels like no progress is being made to improve this when it take me 3-4 times longer to do my job then it did in our old system.
Pros: slightly faster in a few things but not in area we truly need it to be
Cons: No hard copy step by step instruction manual for training purposes. Not able to push a button and refresh the current screen your working in. Not being able to push a button and have any report print out all formatted correctly to fit 8x11 paper - exporting to excel and then formatting to print takes too much valuable time. Too many work arounds. Takes too long for development of processes and reporting. A year in and still things not figured out yet

I am not impressed. I would think a POS system would be able to be adjusted to compliment the store using it. Not every store operates the same, so I cannot imagine their POS should be the same. I am thankfully young/tech savvy enough that I am now used to it, but older employees will always be in Retail stores.
Pros: I do like that we are able to search products a lot easier than other systems in the past.
Cons: I am an assistant manager at one of the companies larger stores. We have many employees that are elderly. This system has been a struggle for them since day one. Everything is too small so touch screen turns into a nightmare. There are too many steps for simple transactions. Features that we have in this store that set us apart, seem to have been rushed, or not considered when making our POS, almost like it was not made for our store at all. Layaways are a good example of that.

I have tended to find Fieldstack advantageous with our everyday tasks, there have been growing pains as there is with any sort of rollout in this capacity. However, the persistence from Fieldstack to be able to adjust and work out what we need or asked for has been well received and thoughtful.
Pros: The efficiency of Fieldstack has proven to make processing tasks within the system much quicker than before. The ease of access and the great customer service from our rollout team, has been vital to making the system work for us vital!
Cons: Definitive search results in reporting of our items tends to be a struggle. As well was organization of items that have more then one variation have proven to be difficult to track, report, and replenish.

Fieldstack is easy to use.
Pros: I like the ease of entering new items. Fewer steps.
Cons: I have found nothing to dislike about FieldStack.

Simply said, the work we are doing has been cut in half. The time it takes us to complete tasks has been cut in half. We are still working out the bugs and figuring out a good system for special orders with FieldStack, but in general the work load has been lifted.
Pros: Looking items up in the system is very easy. I love the export to excel feature. This makes creating our many spreadsheets a breeze. I also really like the marketplace, send and receive modes. THis makes seeing the movement of items and item history very easy. I also like the special order clean up function. I think some of the stores are still trying to figure this feature out and we could use more training with this.
Cons: We are still trying to figure out how to get all of our special orders on fieldstack. I would like to see the items on a pick batch linked to a specific special order, this way the stores could see the comments on the order. We have multiple sizes/ colors under 1 upc for many of our close out items. Currently we have to run a spreadsheet as well as utilizing FieldStack for special orders. This complicates things a lot.

Pros: Bulk editing items when you have a lot of items to fix!
Cons: Not being able to see what was ordered or the terms etc on past purchase orders once they have been completely received on.
Tina C. · Buyer's assistant · Retail · April 6, 2023
Has been good, most issues have been solved and we love that we have a rep that is easy to get a hold of
Pros: The ease of changing, and looking up inventory. The ease of scanning and the quickness of the process.
Cons: Items that were just relevant to Renys has had issues, Special Orders, and Layaways
John L. · Store Manager · Consumer Goods · April 5, 2023
I have had great success with FS. I do think that with certain things, like layaways, you have to pay close attention to what you are doing and I feel that is where some other people have a problem with the system, but I enjoy it and have had very little "issues" with it on a whole. There is great communication with the office and they are able to get us answers relatively quickly when needed. I think if questions continued to be asked and tweaks are made and processes are followed correctly and the same as others then it will be a great system for us.
Pros: I like FS very much. I think the potential is amazing. To me, it is easy and informative. I love that we can track orders for our customers and the new retail gun helps tremendously with inventory. Special orders are easy to follow.
Cons: The itemization is a catch 22 for me. It works very well with special orders to get the product here for our customers. However, it is hard to cancel each item when we needs to. There is not quick way to do it. For layaways, especially large layaways, when they are cancelled it is time consuming to cancel each specific item. The receipts printed for layaways need to have customer information and balance due on it, this has been the one complaint from customers. with special orders, it would be helpful to have the system not count what we already have in stores, if inventory says we have it and it prints a ticket, we still get the item from another store as well and this creates confusion. It the system ignored the count in the store the item is supposed to go to, this issue could be eliminated.

In general, I feel it is an improvement on the retail end over the last system we used. It is fast and efficient; user friendly to those who possess basic computer skills (some of our older cashiers struggle as they don't understand copy/paste etc); I like all the potential it seems to have, but I do feel at times like we are "Beta Testers" as our processes are constantly changing (for the better), though I do generally enjoy the program and what it has to offer as a great customer service tool.
Pros: The system is fast and relatively simple to use. There is a lot of information within the system that is easy to find. For instance, finding someone's receipt from 4 months ago with vague information is easy. I feel it provides a good service to our customers since it is fast. The special orders that can be done through Fieldstack get to our customers very fast.
Cons: The special order and layaway functions are currently not ideal for our store. Layaways are fundamentally different than special orders in our store and need to be treated as such. There needs to be a dedicated layaway feature, not just "hold all." I still feel there is room for improvement on searching for items by description. The special orders are still problematic for our store as not all product can be ordered through the program at this time.
Jennifer N. · manager · Retail · April 1, 2023
Overall the experience has been positive. Most of the program is very easy to use.
Pros: It's fairly easy to use, and it is also quite fast.
Cons: The biggest issue i think is the layaway and special orders. It can become very confusing with the two of them mixed together. Also the way the layaways work is clunky. Having to click each individual item to add a deposit to the layaway is time consuming and awkward. It would be nice if one click and done.
Cheri F. · Assistant Manager · Consumer Services · March 31, 2023
All in all. I like FS. Just minus the above statement.
Pros: I like how quick the system is. I like the way it's laid out on the screen.
Cons: $7a
Justin W. · Assistant Manager · Retail · March 31, 2023
I'm able to utilize easily but our cashiers are struggling, so the store is struggling.
Pros: 1) Processes payments quickly. 2) Can look up products quickly (usually). 3) Scanner work well. 4) Great daily sales reports.
Cons: 1) The layaway process is too convoluted and not very user friendly. Causes our cashiers the most stress. 2) Needs more analytics at the store level (theft levels, negative on hands, average customer purchases, half hour sales analysis, average quantity of purchases).
Michael S. · Assistant Manager · Retail · March 30, 2023
Overall it has been positive, but it has been difficult to learn everything, as it keeps changing. As soon as we are comfortable with doing it one way, we are then given a new/easier (though not always) way. We have also been told a new way of doing it, but do not have access to those tabs or features.
Pros: Most of the features are easier to use than the DAX system we had before. It is much easier to place special orders, find items and work through the customer line faster.
Cons: It takes a while to figure out where everything is. There are several features that are buried underneath tabs or are just not the same place as similar features. Layaways are very difficult to do as they take a very long time, it prints a receipt for every single item, it does not tell you the total left and it does not differentiate between layaways made on the same day by the same customer.
Nicholas D. · Assistant Manager · Retail · March 30, 2023
We are hopeful to get a better idea of inventory for things to rum more smooth.
Pros: I do like we can see inventory of all store including the WH. The function or receiving or sending out inventory. I do like the special orders as well.
Cons: I think the lay away process is difficult to use. When it spits out the ticket it should have the phone number of the customer on it so we do not have to write it on the ticket.
Joanne K. · Asst manager · Retail · March 30, 2023
Overall great, the functions seem a little confusing for an older user, but from a younger users stance it is easy to use and straight forward. Like that we are able to see a lot more about products, and use it on the store level to help customers, know when things may be coming, seeing what stores have it.
Pros: Special ordering products is much easier, Checking info about products, (when we last received it, when it was last sold, etc) Being able to see whats coming on our truck that day, selling functions are very easy to use.
Cons: Layaways are confusing as they are titled "special orders" too, the font I have heard from many employees is very small/hard to read for them. from a POS standpoint it doesn't stop you from continuing to ring products in, if one product does not ring in. Cashiers feel they have to count items and be very careful because if something doesn't ring it, it doesn't alert them unless they happen to look at the screen. Wish there were hot buttons for large items we can't ring in and have to search instead.
Lindsey C. · manager · Retail · March 30, 2023
It has been very frustrating at times. There were a few times when processes would have to change multiple times. Information i felt was getting lost. I know it was a new program but it didn't quite feel ready to go when we started. I felt like we were working out the bugs as we went, which is totally fine just a bit stressful.
Pros: I like being about to find inventory and print our own tickets. The basic functions of the program are great.
Cons: I do not like that something can have a certain upc but when you scan it with the new gun, its different. Or that two products with a different upc can show up in the scanner with the same upc. I don't like that it splits by how popular and item is. I feel like shoe freight at least was much more manageable when wed only get 1 or 2 of most shoes.

Overall not bad. Interested to see what other capabilities the field stack system can do.
Pros: Ability to see on hands of all merchandise in all stores.
Cons: For Renys having our layaway and special order systems combined. Very confusing and cumbersome to navigate.
Robert T. · Asst.Store Manager · Retail · March 29, 2023
Pros: Easy simple transactions for our employees
Cons: Special orders and layaways are in the same category
Shawna S. · Assistant Manager · Retail · March 29, 2023
Need to separate the difference between layaway system vs special orders. It is confusing for them to be listed in the same area under the same name.
Pros: Ease of use for customers/employees in the stores
Cons: Layaways/Special order confusion. They should each be their own
Erik R. · Manager · Retail · March 29, 2023
Satisfied as it has helped in crucial areas like inventory and the speed of ringing up customers.
Pros: The speed of ringing up a customer and the ease of keeping inventory correct
Cons: Layaways, not customer or employee friendly at all. Need to keep each layaway seperate, needs to be able to look up customer layaways and get the information quickly, the receipt needs to have customer name, beginning balance, payment, ending balance and when next payment is due. Special orders needs to pick items from other stores and ignore what inventory says in the store doing the special order, needs to pick from the WH first before going out to the store, not pick from multiple stores so as to not get duplicate items.
Thomas B. · Regional Supervisor · Retail · March 29, 2023
Overall I like it. Those design/aesthetics/display issues are my main gripe. I see it bogging down the average middle-age employee.
Pros: Flexibility to correct inventory. Data tracking and analysis.
Cons: Display design is lacking to the point of being a hinderance for the less-techy employees. Simple improvements like making high-use buttons bigger (credit card) spacing and/or enlarging buttons more to account for those who struggle with touchscreen touch accuracy. There's lots of empty space on our screens, use it. Color coding commands would also help. (Cash, Card, quantity change, change price, Remove item) colorizing these commands would help us see/differentiate the functions better. Also, I'd like to be able to pull up an entire "Style/item number" and to see QOH, and be able to change that quantity all on the same screen. Eliminate extra clicks.
Josh B. · Store Manager · Retail · March 28, 2023
Fieldstack has been a challenge to learn for myself as well as the associates in my store. It is not as user friendly as our previous system was. Especially some of the functions specific to our store such as layaways and special orders. Also there are a lot more steps involved to do things like customer returns and layaways.
Pros: I like the fact that you can search for items by description and can usually find them.
Cons: It doesn't have the functions prominently displayed on the screen. Some actions require a sequence of steps to perform them making it difficult for the associates to remember the procedure for these functions.
Tamela B. · Assistant Manager · Retail · March 28, 2023
I think that the team has been very responsive with adapting the system to fit our needs while also not compromising on what the system is built to do.
Pros: I found the software very easy to learn. i love the ability to bulk load as we sometimes are creating a lot of new skus at once.
Cons: I think that there are always challenges with implementing a new system. The most difficult part is trying not to change all processes at once for all employees. We are unique as we have stores, a warehouse and a distribution center. For us the challenge was trying to streamline all processes into one system.
Heather C. · Buyer · Retail · February 10, 2023
I've used it at Hollywood Feed, and now at Natures Emporium. Honestly the best POS system I've used in my rather lengthy Retail management career.
Pros: Very user friendly. All aspects run the same general way. Once trained in one aspect of your job, you can pretty much figure out how to do the rest by yourself.
Cons: The forecasting on the retail side could use some tweeks. If you sell 2 of an item every week for a month it will bump it up to 3. It doesn't take into account that you sold those 2 the first day you got it and were out of stock for 6 days. It is very easy to manually adjust your forecast though.
joseph T. · Assistant Manager · Retail · January 29, 2023
Pros: I love how easy it is to use. It is just a click of a button
Cons: Sometimes very rarely it will freeze up and we'll have to restart it
