Stripe helps businesses manage online and recurring payments with flexible APIs and global method support. It’s most used by small firms and lean teams handling frequent transactions. Reviewers value its integration depth and real-time processing, though fees and dispute handling draw criticism. Advanced fraud controls and new orchestration tools expand its appeal for scaling operations.

Overall, our experience with Stripe has been very positive. It has helped streamline credit card payments, improve checkout experiences, and simplify payment management across multiple channels. The platform performs reliably and scales well as transaction volumes grow. Its flexibility, strong security, and wide range of payment options make it a dependable solution for ecommerce and subscription-based businesses. Despite occasional support and verification challenges, Stripe remains one of the best payment processing platforms available for modern businesses.
Pros: Stripe provides a very smooth and reliable payment processing experience for both online and mobile transactions. The platform is easy to use, integrates well with ecommerce systems, and supports a wide range of card payments and international payment methods. One of the biggest advantages is the developer-friendly setup and flexible API integrations, which make customization and automation much easier for growing businesses. The dashboard is clean and provides clear visibility into transactions, refunds, disputes, and reporting. Mobile access is also strong, allowing teams to monitor payments and activity on the go. For businesses handling online sales, the platform offers excellent value for money considering the reliability, scalability, and range of features available.
Cons: Customer support can sometimes be slow when dealing with more complex account or dispute-related issues. There are also occasional delays with account verification or fund holds, particularly for newer businesses or high-risk transactions. While the interface is generally user-friendly, some advanced settings and reporting features may require technical knowledge. There can also occasionally be bugs or inconsistencies with third-party integrations depending on the platform being used.

Overall, my experience with Stripe has been very positive, especially from a functionality and scalability standpoint. It’s a powerful platform that excels at handling everything from simple payment processing to more advanced use cases like subscriptions, invoicing, and global transactions. The system feels modern and reliable, and it’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into making it adaptable for different types of organizations.
Pros: What I like most about Stripe is how developer-friendly and flexible the platform is. Stripe really stands out for making complex payment processing feel intuitive, with clean APIs, excellent documentation, and a structure that allows you to scale from a simple checkout to a fully customized payment ecosystem.
Cons: One of the main drawbacks of Stripe is that its flexibility can come with complexity, especially for non-technical users. While developers tend to love it, those without coding experience may find the setup, customization, and deeper features a bit overwhelming compared to more plug-and-play platforms.

Pros: It does everything and more that I need from a payment processor. Easy invoicing, easy payment collection, and an organized interface.
Cons: I haven’t had any problems with Stripe! The payment fees are similar to other payment processors, although they do add up.

Stripe makes it very easy to take online payments. It's user friendly for both customer and retailer.
Pros: It made taking online customer payments very straightforward. The platform is easy to navigate and well laid out. The sales data is accurate (we didn't have any errors) and easy to extract to reconcile against accounting software.
Cons: I can't say that there's a lot we didn't like about Stripe. I guess one challenge was that we hadn't integrated it into our accounting software, so we had to use two platforms for reconciliations.

Overall ok but higher fee and having to maintain two accounts are not the best experience. Feel like I am kept hostage of Stripe as a result of the SaaS tool we chose to use.
Pros: It seems comprehensive and the reporting tools are helping so I am generally happy with the tool so far.
Cons: I have two streams of revenue but it is not letting me consolidate both streams so I have to maintain two accounts. Also the process fee and payment timeline is worse than another tool I use.

So far using it everyday. No problem. It is a good addition to our customer service system, where they can pay bills online.
Pros: It is pretty easy to set up for a first time. Not too expensive. Not sure about customer support, because it was really to set up at the first time. Card payments are really easy. Especially we love that our customers can tap their debit card or credit card on business phone and make a payment. No need to buy any POS systems from them. The app is fully customizable, you can choose what day and time to get money on your account. So far didn’t had any bugs or issues with the system, works great.
Cons: When first time I was trying to find information about how much does it cost it was hard. Also Really wanted to talk to real person for customer support or sales agent. Didn’t found their phone number. There is a bug sometimes when you using

It is ok for domestic transactions but I wouldn't recommend it if you are going to be doing global transactions.
Pros: It is still a great alternative to PayPal and works great for woocommerce. It offers great payment options including Cash App and Affirm
Cons: Setup is able to be a little complicated, and also probably not the best choice when it comes to doing international business because they do not act as a Merchant of Records which means you have to handle VAT yourself for all the different countries.

Overall, I enjoyed it for the price it was expensive. I also never really had an issue that I had to contact anyone to help me fix. I would definitely recommend it to other people in business owners.
Pros: I would say stripe is the best for any card payments. I used it everyday in my time as a business owner. It’s so versatile and easy to use. I also could integrate it into my online shop.
Cons: Sometimes it was slower on some days. I was confused with a few features but they have a great information page to help with.

My overall experience though has been satisfactory. The software supports my business needs and my customers are satisfied with the payment structure.
Pros: I liked being able to integrate payment processing with a streamlined setup into business structure. They have a wide variety of payment methods with multi-currency support.
Cons: Some drawbacks require coding knowledge and the number of features can be overwhelming to keep up with.

I like using Stripe for my business because it makes payments more professional and trustworthy. I like how quick the payment is processed.
Pros: I love how I can customize it to my business. My clients can now pay with their credit cards for my services which makes it easier and more flexible for them as well as easier to manage for me.
Cons: Stripe takes a fee off of the transactions which decreases my revenue. I would have liked to see more options for type of payments available.
Anna B. · Kinesiologist · Health, Wellness and Fitness · April 27, 2026
Very good- would definitely recommend for health care billing purposes, especially if embedded in an EMR.
Pros: I use Stripe integrated into an EMR and it makes billing for patients extremely easy, including issuing refunds as necessary.
Cons: It took me a little while to figure out the invoice-billing process, which may be more on the EMR than Stripe.
Meredith R. · Owner · Health, Wellness and Fitness · April 21, 2026
My overall experience with Stripe has been phenomenal and would definitely recommend it for others to use.
Pros: What I like most about stripe is that it handles subscriptions and recurring billing, as well as managing invoicing.
Cons: What I like least about Stripe is that they charge fees per transaction that can add up over a long period of time.
Mike F. · Manager · Food & Beverages · April 20, 2026
My overall experience with Stripe has been great. It’s a reliable and easy-to-use platform that makes accepting payments simple and smooth. The dashboard is clean and well-organized, so it’s easy to track sales, payouts, and customer activity.
Pros: What I liked most about Stripe is how easy it makes accepting payments. The setup is straightforward, and the dashboard is clean and simple to navigate, which makes managing transactions, payouts, and customer info stress-free.
Cons: One of the things I liked least about Stripe is that some of its features can feel a bit technical, especially when it comes to setup, integrations, or customizing the checkout process. If you’re not familiar with backend tools or coding, it can take extra time to figure things out.

Overall, this tool has been a saving grace for credit card processing. Without Stripe's efficient system, I would be losing money!
Pros: Hands down the best card payment solution in existence. Processing credit card payments through Stripe is so simple. It is incredibly easy to use and has a whole heap of information available from customer support. Their engineering teams are always resolving bugs and issues...and quickly!
Cons: It is a powerful tool and can be a little cumbersome integrating into some solutions. Their APIs are very well engineered, but can be overwhelming to some. Thankfully their customer support is there to assist!

Pros: I love that it pays out very fast and you can use the money anywhere. I have never had any issues with using the cards anywhere.
Cons: I have never had any issues with this product, so I don't anything bad to say about it at all I would use this product anytime

overall, I left Stripe services to go to something simpler in a little bit more credible for my clients. I also left to ensure the proper timeframe for receiving my funds, since customer service never had a direct answer from our first deposit when they would come.
Pros: I liked the simplicity of setting up, the ease of verification of our business, and the availability to immediately begin services
Cons: I did not like the long timeframe that was required to receive our first set of funds, and it was not fully disclosed when making transactions which placed my family and myself in a rough spot for a moment
maisie c. · Owner · Veterinary · April 16, 2026
It does what I need it to do, and I like that I can accept various payment methods and allow customers to pay in their local currency.
Pros: Despite being a fairly complex product, it was pretty easy to set Stripe up in my small business. I like that it can be as simple or complex as you need it to be, depending on business needs.
Cons: Because I don't need to log into the platform very often, it can be confusing to find my way around again each time as some functionalities aren't located where I would expect them to be based on UI layout.

Really like Stripe. It's very easy to set up and let it run, however there are a couple issues that as long as you use it how they want it to, it's fine. It doesn't feel as seamless as some of the other types of this software
Pros: Stripe is really easy to use and set up, as well as the ability to have it integrate into different aspects of your business. I like the ability to set up a Stripe feed in Xero or to create invoices so that when payments come in it will automatically mark the payment to the invoice
Cons: I haven't found a simple way to get invoices created in Stripe into Xero without manually creating every one. There are also slightly hidden fees like 'automatic taxes' which took about 10 minutes to figure out what it was for and then subsequently turn off that 'feature'
Emily G. · Bookkeeper · Accounting · April 16, 2026
Pros: Good for taking credit card payments; fees are high; reports could be better and more search options
Cons: BEWARE of SMART DISPUTES in STRIPE. They charge 30% of the disputed charge + other fees -- it is absolutely outrageous and there is no notification of this fee until the dispute is settled. (If you read Stripe fine print about disputes, it talks about fees, but there is nothing about it when you are deciding to do a manual submission to respond to dispute or Smart Dispute).

Overall, I've had an excellent experience using Stripe to process private pay patient payments. They provide a seamless service for both patients and providers. I can't recommend them enough!
Pros: Stripe provides a way for me, as a therapist in solo private practice, to take credit card payments in a secure environment. They link with CarePatron, another excellent software, which allows me to manage all self-pay patient in one easy to use platform. I've never experienced bugs and issues with Stripe in over a year of consistent use so haven't needed to contact their customer support, but their site makes it obvious and easy to do so if needed. They provide excellent value for the money and allow for customization to boot! 10/10, would recommend.
Cons: I can't think of anything I dislike about using Stripe. It is rare a software runs so seamlessly. It would be easy to forget I use Stripe because it works so well, I don't even have to think about it.
Shea G. · Counselor · Health, Wellness and Fitness · April 14, 2026
My experience has been disappointing. While the platform works well initially, the risk management and compliance process can result in sudden account closures and prolonged fund holds. My account was closed on Feb 28, 2025, and even after more than a year, my available balance has not been released. Despite multiple follow-ups, including escalations, there has been no resolution. I would advise businesses to carefully consider these risks.
Pros: Stripe has a clean interface and is relatively easy to set up. The platform integrates well with various tools and provides a smooth payment experience while the account is active.
Cons: Account closures and fund holds are a major concern. In my case, Stripe held my balance of $3,425.80 for over 1 year after account closure, despite no chargebacks or disputes. Communication from support was limited, and no clear justification was provided for withholding funds beyond the standard reserve period.

Stripe is easy to use, reliable, and integrates seamlessly with other software products (in our case Zuora), making payment processing simple and efficient. Further, Stripe reporting allows us to reconcile our credit card payments with ease.
Pros: Stripe makes it easy to set up and start taking payments, especially for our self service customers. Also, it has a clean and friendly dashboard, good reporting functionality and ability to set up sites across different currencies.
Cons: Stripe fees and network costs can add up making it expensive. Additionally the chargeback process can be a bit frustrating as not much information is provided.
Bill N. · Senior Financial Accountant · Computer Software · April 13, 2026
Overall, Stripe has been a reliable and professional payment solution for my business. It handles card payments smoothly and makes it easy to send invoices and payment links to clients. The ability to customise invoices with branding is a strong advantage and helps maintain a professional appearance. The main drawback is the delay in receiving funds, which can take up to three business days, which is slightly slower than ideal for day-to-day cash flow. However, the system is stable, secure, and generally very easy to use once set up.
Pros: •Very easy to create and send payment links •Competitive transaction fees •Highly customisable invoices, including the ability to add branding and logos •Smooth and reliable card payment processing •Clear and functional user interface
Cons: •Payouts can take around three business days, which feels a bit slow for cash flow •Some features can take time to fully understand for new users •Occasional complexity in navigating the broader dashboard

Overall, in the time we have used Stripe I have not seen any major issues, and it seems to work well for us.
Pros: Stripe has been very easy for us to use with little to know issues in the time that we having been using this service. We do not receive a whole lot of card payments, but it works well for us as of today.
Cons: Like all things there are fees associated with using credit cards processing programs, but that is not a major issue because it is now a common thing.
