Overall, the functionality and accessibility of PowerDMS is good. However I wish the company would deliver on what they previously promise and make some components of the platform more intuitive such as course design, search features, documents that are supported, etc.
Pros: It can be accessed anywhere or through their app, can search for items, easy to upload, and serves as a great location for policy, courses, accreditation.
Cons: There are some technical issues in terms of updates not always working, searching features malfunctioning, and a lot of unnecessary and excessive clicking. There are also restrictions about file types which if it could be uploaded would make the platform more beneficial to the organization.

I am no longer an agency admin but do use the program weekly. Overall, I am pleased with the product. It is essential for law enforcement.
Pros: Works great for policy/document management. This product is really the standard for accreditation management.
Cons: The product can seem very basic at times. Can be good and bad, but I don’t see as much “expansion” or “growth” with the program. I also would like to see improvements in notifications (desktop) and integration with Google Calendar.

i’ve been learning for a year, i’m a work in progress but i enjoy using it. i will continue to learn more.
Pros: organization & accessibility of policy, procedures. the grouping of previous versions will help researching info.
Cons: the option of sending or attaching multiple documents in one workflow to be signed off for approvals.

Excited for what is ahead for the product. Also excited to see where our agency will go and be able to accomplish with the product.
Pros: It’s early to understand and able to run easily. We are able to rag and link archive policies to existing policy.
Cons: Would love to be able to compare all current and previously policies at a glance. Want to be able add power recall included with power policy.
Jamie T. · Government Anaylst II · Law Enforcement · October 1, 2025
Positive, support is great when you need it. There is a lot to learn still but PowerDMS university has been helpful
Pros: It is organized with the knowledge of policy management and accreditation. Company tries to think of how to make things easier/stremlined.
Cons: It is not one size fits all… some solutions sound better on paper but variable of agencies are not accounted for.
Olga G. · Accreditation manager · Law Enforcement · October 1, 2025
Training sessions enabled the client to expand their knowledge of the product. I am an every day coordinator and I appreciated leaning things I was unaware of.
Pros: Ease of use of the product. The application is simple to use and there are no issues with the application not working or being off line.
Cons: There were a few areas the platform was lacking for our age y needs; however, the ability to schedule a “one on one” with the managers was an excellent idea and very helpful.
Karl M. · FTO coordinator · Law Enforcement · October 1, 2025
Very positive and highly recommend for law enforcement agencies to manage their policies. I have used it in two agencies and bought it for a third.
Pros: Ease of use with the system. I also like the reminders for items needing to be completed. There are email reminders to keep the user on task.
Cons: Searching for items can be problematic without close verbiage. I have to refine the searches to find the policy I am looking for.
James D. · Corporal · Law Enforcement · October 1, 2025
this tool enables our users to quickly see current policies and review and sign via a mobile app. also it helps with the accreditation side of things helping us be more organized.
Pros: Ease of use of power policy. great customer service. Allowed our organization to be able organized and have the ability for document storage of our files
Cons: we love all the our abilities to create distribute, track our documents in this document management system

While we are in the first stages of implementing the PowerSuite, I’ve worked for months with Power Ready. It already has dramatically changed the way we run our field training program for the better. I’m excited to finally have a formal, professional, and effective piece of software to monitor our use of force, internal investigations, and provide immediate feedback with the Power Suite!
Pros: Things are streamlined to make things easy to operate. The search function in most of the products help to point you in the right direction. The workflows can be robust, depending on your needs. Our transfer to Power Policy has seen a dramatic change in our ability to track, update, and launches.
Cons: I wish there was a feedback or customer request module that would provide consistent feedback to feature requests, bugs, and future development.
Juan O. · Lieutenant · Law Enforcement · October 1, 2025
Outstanding product that is extremely under valued by public sector due to a very limited knowledge of what the product actually is capable of.
Pros: The intuitive nature of the overall platform makes the learning curve relatively smooth for those that are self driven. Transparency is accomplished in many ways that aids in a culture that inherently does not trust government.
Cons: The training sessions at the conference did not fully align with the title, nor did the content fully cover the material. This product is so powerful and intuitive but it sadness me how many users fully understand or utilize it. That is a product flaw that I'm happy to discuss in depth and provide perspective from an end user.
Joshua S. · Captain · Law Enforcement · October 1, 2025
Overall positive experience and we would consider additional products based on initial and recurring cost
Pros: The training was good and we've had good luck calling the support line. We are able to get the answers we need or have our request escalated
Cons: 1. I need permissions to be more granular 2. I need additional Fields in the user setup screen. Job title and location are not enough
Richard D. · Operations director · Hospital & Health Care · September 30, 2025
Pros: Everywhere that it is going into the future. Integrating AI into all aspects. Begin able to ask questions about what our policies say and the system citing our policies.
Cons: Highlighting for accreditation. But that is already going to be going away so that is a win for me!!
Jamie M. · Accreditation Supervisor · Law Enforcement · September 30, 2025
Its a good tool that allows our agency to disseminate information quickly. I would like to see an improvement in latency.
Pros: Great for policy management. Creation, review, edits, and signatures. That process is simple and easy to follow.
Cons: Analytics as it regards to exports. The way every report has the same title is not helpful for the occasions where I need it.
Sasan F. · Deputy · Law Enforcement · September 30, 2025
Very satisfied. The software does why it needs to for our agency. We have difficult scheduling and it is always up to the challenge
Pros: Reliable software. Have never had it not work for me. I am a daily user and appreciate that I know it is going to work when I need it to
Cons: Sometimes hard to find information. Now that I'm more experienced in using the software, I don't have many issues, but when first learning, it was hard to find things.
Lori W. · Police Office Assistant · Law Enforcement · September 30, 2025
Easy to use can use some upgrades. I feel it could also use an upgraded look to it. Looks really old school.
Pros: Somewhat easy to use. Has mist if the tabs that we need. Easy enough for the officers to use at times.
Cons: Scheduling components. Some options can be a tad confusing when adding in overtime and managing time off.
Anna S. · COA · Law Enforcement · September 30, 2025
Coming from a system that was a nightmare to deal with, I can breathe now with PowerDMS. Everyone we talk to seems knowledgeable and eager to assist.
Pros: PowerDMS is user friendly from Admin to end user. The visual of PowerDMS is appealing and all edits are so easy to find and implement.
Cons: Bulk uploads are not available at this time. As a healthcare system with multiple disciplines we have lots of documents that need uploaded so bulk uploads would be a game changer.
Christin Z. · Clinical Operations Director · Hospital & Health Care · September 30, 2025
Very easy to use and set up, the resources are very helpful. I love the product and would be interested in learning about a campus contract
Pros: Organization and tracking employees progress, policies at staff finger tips. Like the test and tracking credentials
Cons: Difficulty setting up multiple departments with different directors, making sure all the security are set.
Cathy H. · Executive Director · Higher Education · September 30, 2025
Great product and tech support. The success community has been a great source for information and truly is a lifeline.
Pros: Ease of use for accreditation process and bringing lexipol integration via the hub site has helped wonders.
Cons: Getting the team to adjust to using a new product platform. They have a million reasons for hating change.
Andrew L. · Accreditation manager · Law Enforcement · September 29, 2025
Policy reviews and archives, training courses and distant learning, and surveys. Issuing certificates and auditing training.
Pros: The ability to compare and contrast updated publications from older versions. Archival of previous training and courses.
Cons: Scheduling and planning training events in the courses. The processes are not user friendly and very labor intensive.
Jason S. · Patrol Sergeant · Law Enforcement · September 29, 2025
I love it. It has been a great tool for Calea and policy compliance. The ability to see when employees sign a policy is a game changer.
Pros: The ease of linking documents and courses in the assessment modules. Before it was all paper and highlighters.
Cons: Sometimes it is not very user friendly when creating courses. It can be challenging for new admins to figure out.
Brady K. · Captain · Law Enforcement · September 29, 2025
It does what we need . I like the simplicity of the software and how easy it is to update documents.
Pros: Ease of use product has had some good updates. I like the one login, it makes going from program to program more easily.
Cons: I do not like the workflow. How it does not notify you if someone does not approve it. It would be nice if others could be notified.
Joe D. · Commander · Law Enforcement · September 29, 2025
It’s definitely better than our past system like the easiness of being able to edit things. Overall, we are pretty satisfied.
Pros: It very user friendly. Easy to navigate. Like the capability of being able to edit things. I like the archive feature and having unlimited space.
Cons: Not enough notification on bugs that are getting fixed. Also takes too long to fix bugs. Lack of communications on updates and fixes.
Anjani T. · Government analyst II · Law Enforcement · September 29, 2025
I like that we can tag documents and use those tags to find things easier. Having the ability to get answers to questions is appreciated.
Pros: I like PoiwerDMS University and customer support. Any time I have called about an issue the representative is always helpful and attentive.
Cons: Some things aren’t very intuitive and difficult to figure out. With that being said customer support is always helpful.
Nicole B. · Police Administrative Supervisor · Law Enforcement · September 29, 2025
A good product that is adaptable. We use it for policy, documents, forms, training request workflows.
Pros: Convenient and user friendly. Useful for storage of documents and policies. Also useful for workflows.
Cons: Change or update a policy you still need to sign that you read it. Should have a selection to sign off on it as well when publishing.
Patrick B. · Commander · Law Enforcement · September 29, 2025
Good and would like to see our agency expand user licenses to cover all employees two we can use the employee acknowledgment functionality.
Pros: Centralized management of policy revisions. Tracked changes and ability to workflow. Maintaining archive of past policies.
Cons: Groups and security is kind of cumbersome. Have some history that can be confusing when new users are added.
