Red Sentry provides cybersecurity services focused on penetration testing and offensive security to help organizations identify and assess real security vulnerabilities. The service is used by security and IT teams to evaluate the effectiveness of security controls across applications, APIs, cloud environments, and networks. Penetration testing is conducted by experienced ethical hackers who simulate real-world attack scenarios to determine whether vulnerabilities are exploitable in practice. Automation supports testing workflows and reporting, while human expertise drives attack logic, validation, and risk assessment. Red Sentry’s methodology aligns with frameworks such as OWASP and NIST, with results documented in structured reports that include severity ratings and remediation guidance to support ongoing security improvement.

Our goal was to find a true pen test partner that would help us increase the security posture of our platform, fulfill our compliance and customer requirements, and do so in a time and cost effective manner. Red Sentry has helped us achieve all of those goals.
Pros: Personal service, attention to detail, and quick response times by the Red Sentry account executives and project managers. Our multiple engagements with Red Sentry have been true collaborative efforts ensuring our goals are achieved, and not just a "sterile" execution of pen test steps simply to check off a box.
Cons: I have no serious complaints regarding our multiple engagements with Red Sentry. The only minor issue I have is regarding their online pen test portal/dashboard. Although it is good and lightyears better than the traditional method of exchanging scoping/description documents via email, it's not as sophisticated as it can be. Having spoken to Red Sentry about this I do know the dashboard is always evolving and has multiple updates in the pipeline.

Pros: RedSentry jumped on a fairly spontaneous penetration testing project directly. They made the best offer of all companies that we investigated and were able to tailor the project to our needs.
Cons: Designwise, the report looked a bit unprofessional. I was not sure how much technical knowledge the sales person had.

We've used Red Sentry for our past two pentests and it has been quick and painless. We are a small SaaS company and don't have a team with a lot of extra time, so being able to conduct a pentest simply and with minimal disruption is extremely important. Red Sentry got us all set-up last year and then conducted the pen test this year without our dev team really having to do anything at all aside from confirming information. We really appreciate being able to assure our customers without having to interrupt production!
Pros: Red Sentry is easy to use in meeting our SOC-2 objectives. They also quickly responded to questions and concerns.
Cons: We learned about Red Sentry from Vanta, and now Vanta is adding an AI pentest option for free. We'd rather not switch, but we might have to if Red Sentry doesn't have a comparably priced option.

I was recommended to them by SecureFrame, have been pleased with the results. They've done 2 pentests with us, both were well executed.
Pros: They have a pretty streamlined process, it is really not hard to get your pentest done and they help you with any questions. The price seems reasonable to me and the reports look professional.
Cons: there is still a bit of manual process - I would like it if it could somehow hook up to GCP and automatically select what needs to be tested.

Pros: Flexible and Spin engagements in a quick short span of time. Easy communication by the team and transparency with the Testers.
Cons: I think the quality of testers could have been much better, or having multiple testers in an engagement could help us spot issues from different perspectives.
Subhajit S. · Security Engineer · Banking · August 29, 2025
Positive experience but would like to be sure it was a thorough test that checked everything reasonably possible
Pros: There was great communication and was flexible with their availability, as well worked efficiently for price paid.
Cons: Did not show all the passed testing that did not require remediation and insight into the tools used.
Michael M. · Cybersecurity Engineer · Information Technology and Services · August 28, 2025
It was fine - not really sure there are too high of expectations - just need to be on-time, thorough, and reliable for what you put in that report.
Pros: Very responsive quick to get to work and a result. We have used you guys two years in a row - overall speed, quality, etc. is fine.
Cons: This year the report took longer than I expected. It does feel a little transactional, but that's likely what it is supposed to be.
Brent B. · COO · Information Technology and Services · August 28, 2025
Red Sentry has been pivotal in providing the services MedWand needed in order to ensure our timely and annual SOC compliancy audits.
Pros: The Red Sentry teams are customer focused. From sales to support, Red Sentry is easy to use and provides excellent security and threat management. The Cost of Red Sentry simply a value in the industry. The penetration teams are top notch and provide us with all of our vulnerability and patch management.
Cons: I was a little disappointed to hear that the online scanners were going away. I'm not certain what the latest status is.
Toby W. · CTO · Medical Devices · August 28, 2025
Decent communication, pen-test needs were met and is good value for the money. Results were provided in an easy to understand report.
Pros: Value for Money, Web Portal access. Customer Support and communication. Everyone I communicated with was professional.
Cons: The pen-test completion certificate could be more professional looking. Right now, it looks like an award certificate you'd give a school kid.
Pete B. · Technical Support Manager · Medical Practice · August 28, 2025
My experience with RedSentry his improved every year. They deliver detailed PenTest reports that exceed my expectations. During my evaluation of services, RedSentry was the most affordable option and provided the best experience.
Pros: Red Sentry provides a thorough evaluation using modern methods at a more than reasonable price. I've used Red Sentry for several years now and the experience has always progressively improved.
Cons: Their new dashboard is much more efficient and feature rich. While it provides more details about the progress of your PenTest there is less human communication. I don't mind this, but some may not like it as much.

Red Sentry has been a pleasure to work with. One of the easiest engagements with a vendor that I have ever had. I look forward to working with them for years to come.
Pros: Red Sentry has been a great partner over the years. Their expertise and knowledge, along with their ease of use make them the perfect fit for my customers.
Cons: I really can't say much negatively about my experience with Red Sentry. Any scheduling mishaps were quickly rectified and handled professionally.
Mike H. · Owner · Security and Investigations · August 23, 2025
Red Sentry has helped us get a good handle on cybersecurity threats, in a non-scary way and helps us spend less time on patch management, and giving us comfort that our systems are as secure as possible at any given time.
Pros: Great professional communication, quick responses to questions, no question to small. Bundling services helps keep costs down which is big help. The customer portal is well designed, I loved that I could easily add and remove users from my team as needed. The layout makes it easy to find and track project progress and communications. They provide a very thorough, easy to understand, detailed report explaining security threats and crucially, providing links and to remediate them. The executive summary is great for explaining vulnerabilities with C-execs.
Cons: I don't like that the password required to open the report expires (is removed from the portal). It means I have to make a note. It should always be accessible in the portal as a one-stop-shop.
Leigh F. · CTO · Hospitality · August 23, 2025
Very good. They provided recognized credibility and gave us a clean bill of health on issues we had resolved.
Pros: Helpful people. Solid pen testing offering. Red Sentry's approach aligned with industry standards and results are recognized by our customers.
Cons: Status updates process via portal during the engagement can seem a bit detached, impersonal, even when we needed confirmation on a specific topic.
David N. · Leader of Client Delight · Information Technology and Services · August 23, 2025
Pros: friendly and helpful customer support; user friendly; intuitive. provided adequate support to clients and answered questions with professionalism
Cons: Did not necessarily provide us with the security testing that we would have. hoped for, especially in terms of HIPAA protected information.
Lily Q. · Business Executive · Computer Software · August 22, 2025
Red Sentry is a great organization to work with. They make penetration testing easy with minimal overhead. Simply tell them what you need, and they'll handle it.
Pros: I appreciated their clear and straightforward communication style. They provided early feedback about difficulties, and their testing was comprehensive.
Cons: While their required communication platform can be confusing at first, it becomes easy to use once you get familiar with it.
Josh E. · Information Security Manager · Computer Software · August 22, 2025
The importance of vulnerability management cannot be overstated. Red Sentry helps us ensure that clients have secure and compliant systems they can trust to run their businesses on.
Pros: The team at Red Sentry makes pen-testing and security management easier for our customers by delivering great value and helpful guidance throughout the process.
Cons: The only issue is that some services are a bit beyond the price a smaller business would pay... unless they truly value security, that is.
Joanie M. · CTO, Director of Cloud Services · Information Technology and Services · August 22, 2025
We’ve been using Red Sentry for penetration testing, and they’ve provided a strong combination of automated testing and hands-on testing by two dedicated engineers. Their reports are extremely thorough, with detailed documentation of the tests performed, the steps taken, and clear instructions for remediation. The team members we’ve worked with are responsive, communicative, and very helpful. Overall, our experience with Red Sentry has been excellent.
Pros: I appreciate the quick coverage the automated testing provides but find the most value out of having to live engineers also testing.
Cons: The 90-day timeframe to remediate issues seems really tight for our release process. Any issues found are new and have to go through the entire lifecycle which for is takes more than 90 days.
Dan R. · SVP of Technology · Computer Software · August 21, 2025
Complete satisfaction. Nothing less. From concept to conclusion, you are in great hands throughout the entire process.
Pros: Great communications, results oriented, fast and efficient. The cost was on par with expectations and the clients are very happy with the results. Red Sentry makes complex processes simple to understand, making it easier for clients to know exactly what they are getting for their investment. The hands-on approach of the team, coupled with a robust feature-set in the online platform, give customers plenty of options to get secure and remain so.
Cons: No complaints. We met with the team at Red Sentry multiple times, with and without the client and their third party dev team. The entire process was well planned and executed.
DOUGLAS G. · CEO · Computer & Network Security · July 22, 2025
Seamless, constructive and efficient. They are always quick to respond to customers and very easy to work with regarding scheduling.
Pros: Very seamless partner to work with. Easy hand off to our customers with fantastic results. Always a great experience working with the team at Red Sentry.
Cons: There is nothing negative that comes to my mind when working with the entire team at Red Sentry. This is over a span of 3 years.
Ryan M. · Director of Sales · Accounting · June 24, 2025
We followed all the security best practices. Everything was configured by the book. We had already run scans, passed audits, and really didn’t expect anyone to find anything serious. Red Sentry proved us wrong. They found a critical issue that every scanner and checklist had missed. The process was smooth, the team was sharp, and the report helped us take immediate action. It was a wake-up call, but exactly the kind we needed.
Pros: The pen test was fast and felt real. It wasn’t just a scanner or a copy-paste report. A real person looked at our system, figured out how to break it, and showed us exactly where we were vulnerable. Communication was great the whole way through, and the final report was easy to understand and take action on. We now plan to do this regularly.
Cons: None that I can think of, and I'm thinking through our entire engagement and there's really nothing negative to say.
Jesse A. · Vice President · Venture Capital & Private Equity · May 29, 2025
Red Sentry was able to identify some vulnerabilities immediately. We addressed them that same day and were so thrilled to know we were all set!
Pros: The product is easy to use and the information collected is crucial to the security of your business in real time.
Cons: I can't think of anything right now. We feel like Red Sentry has been a huge asset to our business and haven't had any issues.
Emily T. · CEO · Computer Software · January 12, 2022
We have team members with varying degrees of sec ops experience and security-first principles. Using Red Sentry we’ve been able to level up our entire team by exposing vulnerabilities before they become exploits.
Pros: What I like most about Red Sentry is the dashboard HUD views that give us a prioritized view of how the issues 'should' be triaged. The notifications and alerts we receive via email and slack are also super helpful because they immediately facilitate conversation and action around the issue discovered.
Cons: The UI, in some areas of the app, is not the prettiest (but I'd rather have the functionality than looks anyway); but I know their product team is focusing on a UI/UX refresh in the coming months so it's really a moot point. I'm excited to see the new UI!
