Netwrix Data Classification helps organizations discover and classify sensitive data across on-premises and cloud environments, so they know what data they have, where it resides, and who has access to it. By combining data sensitivity with access context, the solution enables teams to identify overexposed data, reduce risk, and enforce least-privilege access. Built-in and customizable policies ensure accurate classification of PII, PHI, and other regulated data. Automated remediation helps remove excessive permissions, eliminate redundant and obsolete data, and protect sensitive information. With file auditing, activity monitoring, and compliance reporting aligned with GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI DSS, Netwrix helps organizations reduce data exposure, strengthen governance, and support audit readiness.

Strengths: Its data management and classification capabilities are robust, making it easier to identify sensitive data across diverse sources. Customer support is responsive, and the efficiency of its classification engine helps reduce manual effort. These features make compliance and governance tasks more streamlined.
Pros: Accurate and efficient classification: It quickly identifies sensitive data across multiple sources, reducing manual effort. Compliance support: Helps streamline governance and regulatory reporting, making audits less stressful. Responsive support team: Customer service is attentive and provides practical guidance during setup and troubleshooting. Broad coverage
Cons: Steep learning curve: The interface isn’t very intuitive, so onboarding takes extra effort. Setup complexity: Initial configuration and data collection require significant time and technical expertise. Value concerns: Pricing feels high if you only need basic classification features. Usability gaps: Navigation and reporting could be more streamlined for everyday users.

Overall, our experience has been wonderful. We use it in conjunction with Netwrix Auditor. Data Classification has allowed us to gain valuable drive space back by showing us "old" files that no longer need to be accessed daily, as well as helping us identify folders that may contain patient info and therefore require an audit of the security applied to them.

On-time reports on alterations in my surroundings that could be signs of undesirable activities are provided by Netwrix. Furthermore, Netwrix made data categorization simple. I can check modifications made by others using Netwrix for repudiation.
Pros: Once deployed, it will serve as your eyes for monitoring your surroundings. You'll be able to keep track of all changes and receive instant notifications. It is safe to use this product. They covered every topic we were interested in. I also appreciate that I can alter the categories to include non-standard ones.
Cons: At first, browsing the classified data is not obvious, but after you get the feel of it, the arrangement is effective. If you have a large network, changing the credentials for your sources will become a hassle. You must complete each one separately.

Netwrix Data Classification was easy to understand, set up, and use.
Pros: Netwrix provides timely reports on changes in my environment that may be indications of unwanted activity. Netwrix also made data classification easy. Netwrix also allows me to investigate changes made by others for repudiation or break/fix activity.
Cons: Setup and reporting can be a little clunky to learn, but does make sense once familiarity with the system is achieved.

Great product Netwrix offers. Data classification is one of them. It is easy to deploy and easy to setup alerts.
Pros: After deployment it will become your eyes on your environment. You will be able to track all changes and get alerted real time. This is a dependable product to use.
Cons: Changing credentials to your sources will become a headache if you have big network. You have to do them one by one.

It's great having the ability to get a high level view of what we have.
Pros: Love the predefined categories. They covered all the stuff we were looking for. Also love that I can customize to classify non-standard categories too.
Cons: It's not intuitive to look through the categorized data at first, but once you get the hang of it, the organization works well.

It helps us to better find sensitive data spanning across our network within many different types of infrastructure / systems that hold our data. Very powerful tool.
Pros: Very powerful tool that is essential to understanding what type of data resides on your company's network and infrastructure.
Cons: Integration was smooth, but there are a few "gotchas" that were missed the first time around surrounding SQL version options, and certain checkboxes such as OCR that if you didn't catch it during the initial setup that entire crawls would have to be redone. It is VERY VERY EXPENSIVE! The amount of data that is captured is honestly quite overwhelming. Some false positives are expected, but it would be nice if they could be better identified. After getting it setup, the remediation steps are still in the works after 2+ years.

Pros: The reports it can generate are very useful.
Cons: 2 factor login for azure reporting and a agent install for remote workstations.

Pros: The data classification piece of Netwrix is a must have in our firm. Detecting PCI, PHI, and PII can be a daunting task to manage. The data classification module makes this An easy task to manage. Reporting is solid and easy to present to CIO and security officers.
Cons: The amount of servers needed to index is high. This product requires a ton of computing power and RAM.

Pros: Integration was very easy. Adaptation to report within the scope of our needs is also very easy.
Cons: Not much - default settings include languages we do not need but it is easy to remove them.
