Overall, the system has a good structure, but we have had a few experiences that have made our time with snowflake harder
Pros: Snowflake was super helpful automatically designing our necessary tables based on the data we uploaded. Having so many connections has been incredibly helpful to utilize our data wherever we need.
Cons: The most difficult part was trying to find the data in the new system. Some may to many tables did not import correctly and it was hard to find the right data

Data warehousing is the main benefit that I experience when using Snowflake - I am able to analyze structured and unstructured data in one place.
Pros: How it is super easy to store, query and analyze massive data without managing hardware is what I like most about Snowflake. Data sharing and collaboration is another thing that I rank high about Snowflake.
Cons: Even though the learning curve was a bit steep, I am now used to it and currently there hasn’t been any new feature to customize.

I thought it was great. I would definitely recommend to all who are considering it an option. From ease of use to results.
Pros: I really appreciate the ease of use. In the beginning of my data analyst role, Snowflake was straight forward in understanding
Cons: The only real issue I had was the data return limits but am not entirely sure if that was a Snowflake issue or company threshold.

It has been effective and super easy to model, visualize and share data among teams in my organization at the point of making business decisions.
Pros: It is my second year using Snowflake in the real-estate agency. With Snowflake, I have been able to make informed business decisions by collecting, modeling and visualizing data across a wide array of sources.
Cons: It has a quite learning curve, but the vendor offered free support - the best thing is how the vendor sends free ebooks for customization whenever they incorporate new features

Pros: Snowflake is easy to use and implement. It allows the rest of the company to manage their databases and tables to run reports and dashboards on their processes. Since we integrated it with Sigma Computing, we are able to pull data connections and run analysis pretty easy.
Cons: It does not provide a clear guide or manual on how to use it for our new hires to read and learn how to navigate it.

I leverage snowflake tables in almost every aspect of my job day to day. It's unlocked unprecedented visibility into our operation, helping us execute much more effectively
Pros: integrates incredibly easily into our BI tools, allows for easy setup of new tables, can be pickedup without much advance training. Helps us build all of our data dashboards and manage our analysis
Cons: It's so easily integrated into other tools, it can be tough to know what native functionality Snowflake offers as well (i.e. LLM connectivity)

Pros: The ability to query data in real time and the multitude of dimensions that can be analyzed using the system
Cons: The complexity of the UI when you first begin using it. There’s a very high volume of layered clicks.

We centralized data control, made ELT easier, and provided stakeholders with trusted dashboards. Query performance improved, and teams make quicker decisions, strong day-to-day value following best practices being established.
Pros: Snowflake speeds up data analysis and collaboration with almost instantaneous scaling, open dashboards, and easy data sharing. The interface is clean, and role-based access ensures sensitive datasets are protected while teams query without tripping over one another.
Cons: There is ramp-up in cost controls, roles, and warehouses areas. Customer support is instructed but can be behind on more in-depth performance or billing matters, so close governance and monitoring are crucial in the early stages.

Cons: Although Snowflake does its job very well, it can get expensive. Especially if you are trying to move data from another warehouse.

It is a great modern Data Cloud / Platform product for teams that don't want to spend time managing infrastructure. The SQL-first approach makes the onboarding time and learning curve for the product very very short.
Pros: Ease of use, reliability, speed of new feature roll-out, general quality of product.
Cons: Certain use cases are more difficult when it is not part of the "walled garden" approach. Cost can be high if not configured correctly.

Excellent software for any data warehouse needs. Works really quickly with the implementation of SQL, no complaints at all.
Pros: Great data warehouse system with a robust SQL application. Easy to use for any data solutions needed!
Cons: I feel like sometimes the links I save don't get me exactly to the query that I want to use, but I can easily search it in the application.
David M. · Escalations Specialist · Consumer Services · November 1, 2024
It was easy to run SQL on the database. Just find the table on the left, enter the command on the right, and press the Run button.
Pros: Easy and intuitive interface. All you need to do is type SQL. Python is also available.
Cons: There was nothing particularly bad about it.
Anonymous User · Business Ingelligence · Entertainment · August 5, 2024
Pros: I really liked the easy use of snowflake as a SQL coder. It made my work very easy and I liked that there were tutorials and suggested corrections.
Cons: I did not like having to switch between different user roles in order to access certain files, but I think this was because of my company.

Bohumil B. · Business Development Executive · Airlines/Aviation · January 30, 2024
Snowflake has been wonderful. It completely transformed our operations when we migrated from SQL Server to Snowflake. It's so much faster, cheaper, and easier to maintain.
Pros: Easy maintenance, fast performance, low cost usage-based pricing model, and easy data sharing.
Cons: It can be cumbersome to administer multiple Snowflake accounts within the same company if needed. It's most cost effective for large, bulk type query transactions not thousands of small queries spread throughout the day.
