PrimePay empowers small businesses to manage payroll, HR, and time tracking with weekly usage and direct deposits as core workflows. It’s most used by administrative teams in construction, healthcare, and nonprofit sectors. Reviewers value its W-2 prep and payroll reporting, though many cite support delays and limited self-service tools. Recent updates include AI-powered onboarding and predictive dashboards for better visibility and control.

The software was great and easy to use. It had some ability to modify the set up and codes but when it came to customer service, it was difficult to get answers and help without starting from ground zero and explaining your whole company/ process to each person.
Pros: The simplicity of the product made it easy enough for almost anyone to use. The payroll process and tax management filing was helpful.
Cons: Because of the simplicity of the product, it lacked the abilities and the support we needed as a growing business.

Positive and helpful. Pretty prompt with the response and more than happy to collaborate to find the solutions
Pros: Very knowledgable and quick resolution. Happy to jump on a collaborative team effort to provide users the best experience
Cons: Nothing really! It was all good. I have a very positive experience with the team everytime I talk to anyone on Prime pay

My experience with PrimePay has been excellent. The platform made our Open Enrollment and new benefits program implementation smooth and efficient. Our consultant was knowledgeable, professional, and easy to work with—always meeting deadlines and communicating clearly. Overall, PrimePay provided the right tools and support to ensure a successful rollout, and I would highly recommend them.
Pros: I recently completed the implementation of a newly structured benefits program for Open Enrollment using PrimePay as our HRIS, and the experience was excellent. Our benefits consultant, [sensitive content hidden], was outstanding throughout the entire process. He was extremely knowledgeable about the system and benefit plan structures, which gave me confidence at every step. He consistently delivered his work on time, communicated clearly, and always made himself available for questions or guidance. Beyond his professionalism, he was friendly, approachable, and truly a pleasure to collaborate with. I would highly recommend him to anyone implementing a benefits program, and I would absolutely welcome the opportunity to work with him again in the future.
Cons: One area of improvement is around branding clarity. There can be some ambiguity in how PrimePay and SyncHR are marketed and presented, which at times makes it difficult to distinguish the two platforms and understand their positioning. Clearer, more consistent branding would help avoid confusion.

So far, Primepay is what I would have expected in a payroll company. The processing is easy. If I need help with a special payroll or have any questions the representatives to this point have been stellar.
Pros: They were able to work with me to keep my processing costs low. I historically only use my payroll companies for processing and nothing else
Cons: I have been with them for less than a year. So it is hard to choose a "con". However for some reason I was getting charged more for my payroll monthly than my proposal stated. It was fixed, and then happened again. So it seems to be a computer glitch that needs to be fixed.

Overall positive. Website looks proffesional. Costumer service is amazing. Easy to set up and is poppullar with many costumers world wide
Pros: Primepay is simple and quick. Costumer service provides great support. The website is colourful and looks proffesional
Cons: The website could have wider range. And we as costumers should be able to access more information. It could parter with more teams to provide even wider range off softwares

Cons: Main headquarter no longer in VA. lol

My overall experience with Primepay has been very positive. Some of my issues were unique, but once I had a representative where as I could show my particular limitation, they were always able to resolve or show me better ways of handling the issues.
Pros: In most cases, there is written information on how to resolve an issue you are having and potentially a video as well.
Cons: Times where I had to call support, those issues where not always resolved or no one returned my calls

Pros: The ease of the website and the process is very smooth. It has been a great product for our companies needs.
Cons: We've had a hard time to get our E-Verified set up in a timely manner. We have been in this process for several months and are still waiting.

Overall, Prime Pay is much smother of a payroll platform that what I have used in the past. I enjoy the platform, the look, and the ease it provides. Direct deposit is the way to go! Less headache!
Pros: Prime Pay offers a wide variety of business needs. It has a sleek, modern look and feel- while being easy to navigate and process your payroll needs.
Cons: At times, Prime Pay support can be tricky to navigate. Sometimes I feel as though my cases are solved quickly, and others I feel I am lost and/or need further assistance.

I am relatively new to PrimePay in this regard. I am however a former client, but well before there was such an extensive online presence. I used to have a dedicated specialist I would call. As I have used several Payroll/HR companies, the PrimePay dashboard is relatively user friendly.
Pros: The support staff I would say is what I like most. In my experience they have been both professional as well as cordial.
Cons: I don't think what I like least is exclusively a PrimePay issue. There is a volume of information on how to generate reports, or complete certain actions. It's sometimes difficult to navigate by yourself, or to phrase the question you have for the search feature to find it.

Overall we are very happy with the service. We have had great support and payroll processing is simple.
Pros: The customer support we have received from day one has been great. They have been responsive and helpful in answering any questions.
Cons: The layout of the website isn't the most user friendly. It is functional and pretty straight forward just limiting in some aspects.
Charity B. · Office Manger · Mental Health Care · May 23, 2025
Overall the experience has not been too terrible but definitely frustrating when we do not get responses when things are not done correctly and it is out of our control
Pros: I like the quarterly reports all being handled by primepay to remove the stress from quarterly time in our office. Also their way to accommodate to us like being able to print checks for our clients
Cons: Our company has had some communication issues with taxes being paid in correctly or overpaid from switching over mid-year. We also have trouble getting ahold of people at times when our clients are frustrated and want answers

Overall, PrimePay has been a solid payroll solution for our firm. It does a great job managing the essential aspects like tax filings and reporting, which we really appreciate. However, having more user control and quicker, more helpful support would really take the service to the next level. It’s reliable for the most part, but there’s definitely some room for improvement.
Pros: One of the biggest advantages of using PrimePay is how seamlessly it handles all tax filings and quarterly reports. It’s a huge time-saver and gives peace of mind knowing everything is filed accurately and on time. The automation of these tasks helps reduce manual errors and ensures compliance without having to constantly monitor deadlines.
Cons: While the automation is great, I’ve found that there’s limited flexibility when it comes to making changes or adjustments to payroll runs. The platform can feel a bit restrictive, especially if last-minute edits are needed. Additionally, the communication with customer support could be improved. Responses are sometimes delayed, and it would be easier if we had a direct contact to reach out to for time pressing issues.

Pros: It's only been 5 months since we onboarded with PrimePay, and I have to say I've been impressed with the flexibility of their programs plus the customer service has been excellent.
Cons: There have been a lot of software changes recently which can be stressful at times, however, at the same time the changes have all yielded valuable benefits.

My experience has been average with PrimePay but it is easy to use. I would recommend this payroll service to others.
Pros: The software is easy to use and easy to navigate. It is easy to find information about the company and employees.
Cons: I am not in control of my own payrolls. If I make a mistake, I need to contact customer support for them to either void the whole payroll or erase the mistake I made.
Sam M. · Accountant · Financial Services · May 22, 2025
Good communication , not pushy, worked to really tailor to my small business needs.
Pros: Willingness to work with goals and needs, affordability, payroll can come out of my Amex acct through ach and I won't be charged a wire fee.
Cons: Scheduling system doesn't really work for what I need. When employees work opposite shifts I need to be able to see all employees together to ensure proper coverage.
Crystal R. · CEO · Consumer Services · May 17, 2025
The information session was very friendly and helpful. Compared apples to apples. After the sales person went through the information, I was transfered over to my account specialist who was able to log in with me and get some of the information the needed through a web call. Now just in the process of getting employee information over.
Pros: The pricing and helpfulness of the Sales rep and the account specialist. Everyone was helpful during the onboarding process and trying to get me set up with everything. Pricing was a huge point for me and this is almost half the price of any other pay company I have been with
Cons: The amount of work to bring employees from current service to primepay. Have to do a lot of manual transfer of reports and information.
Mike J. · CHRO · Food & Beverages · May 16, 2025
My overall experience has not been the best. We got billed for accounts that were not available to us and it took a long time to get that audited and get our refund back. It is also hard to contact our direct team and get updates, due to delayed responses.
Pros: The software is easy to navigate and use.
Cons: The inability to have more control on my account compared to other payroll software. I always have to contact support for something small when using a past payroll software, I was able to change it myself.
Chloe B. · Staff Accountant · Accounting · May 14, 2025
Not a good experience. They'll make everything on their terms to be beneficial.
Pros: I was comfortable using the system and it was easy to configure the software. My franchise forces me to use Profitkeeper on the same site, so that made it easy to come to one place.
Cons: The people are shysters. They put in a clause that says we can update the contract at any time and they do that without being upfront.
Greg M. · Owner · Sports · May 5, 2025
It has been amazing working with PrimePay. When I was working extra hours, the whole team was constantly checking on me. They truly feel like family.
Pros: I like the closeness of the team. I enjoy being able to work through problems with them & gain new insights!
Cons: I do not have a lot of cons. I would like to see more ways to view pay & make it easier for some of our employees. I am not a fan of the positions.
Mady A. · Accounting Manager · Government Administration · March 31, 2025
Overall, I highly satisfied with PrimePay.
Pros: They are professional, respond quickly, and helpful with payroll. I also appreciate the other services they offer such as trainings.
Cons: Sometimes I need to speak directly to an individual over the phone and this can be challenging.
Vickie W. · Administrator · Education Management · March 21, 2025
Excellent. The PrimePay has a great team of individuals who are committed to your success, and making the transition to PrimePay system, seamless.
Pros: Personal attention to getting things implemented correctly.
Cons: There we some "confusion" in the beginning on who wa doing what.
Jim S. · CEO · Hospitality · March 18, 2025
Very good. Like the team we work with and like the product.
Pros: The platform is easy to use. The team is very responsive and answers questions quickly. If you need to use support, they are very efficient and friendly and get it right the first time.
Cons: Typing minimum of 40 characters in each box
Tracy B. · Office Manager · Insurance · March 10, 2025
Really terrible. Can't count the number of times I called to resolve issues to no avail.
Pros: Really nothing - compared to other providers they offer no advantages.
Cons: Inept customer support. Kept getting the run-around about tax withholding. We ditched them after months of frustration. Found out that they had withheld $8,000 more in taxes than they should have, and we are a small organization!
John J. · Treasurer · Religious Institutions · March 3, 2025
Pros: Customer service experience is currently
Cons: Requests for reviews every time a ticket is closed is too frequent
