Not terrific. We eventually decided to move to a different platform that was more customizable for our needs.
Pros: The best thing about DonorView is that it's am all-in-one option, out of the box. Everything you might want: forms, payment processor, client records: all in one place already integrated.
Cons: Unfortunately, because it's out-of-the box and fully integrated, it is not very customizable. At our organization, we needed to try and fit our needs into what DonorView offered -- which didn't really work for us. And the more we used the options to customize, the more expensive the platform got.

We are able to have registrations, ticketing, donor management and communications in one place, so we can focus on making our programs fund and engaging.
Pros: It's really easy to find information quickly, which has made our check-in process at performances incredibly smooth. We no longer have long lines or confusion at the door, and our team can focus on making the event a great experience for everyone.
Cons: Since our data was in different places, it was difficult to get it organized for data conversion. It's not specific to DonorView, but it took us some time to get everything ready.

Disappointing. I have been using fundraising CRM solutions for more than 25 years. Within months of joining my current nonprofit, it became clear that DonorView was a vastly inferior product and that it offered no cost savings as an offset to the inferior quality. DonorView was agressive, in predatory, in their efforts to enforce their 'no early termination, mandatory 3 year subcription." DonorView is so bad, we are willing to pay the final 3rd year without using the system just to move on to a useful fundraising CRM.
Pros: It was simple. But that is one of the reasons we hate this software: it is simplistict, clunky, and very limited in function, even basic tasks like queries and segmenting are poorly designed.
Cons: It is clunky, unsophisticated and clearly not upgraded as competing CRM options have over the past few years. Segmenting, as basic task, is difficult. The user interface is like something created 10 or more years ago. Their subscription model is aggressive, in predatory. DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR BAIT AND SWITCH. After this organization had used the system for a year, within in days of the annual renewal date, notice was delivered by DonorView that they had unilaterally changed their terms to require a 3-year, no early termination allowed, subscription renewal. If you did not accept, the only option was to cancel within the next few days and loose all access to data. Not a friend to nonprofit organizations. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO THIS.

We have had a very positive experience with DonorView. I can't imagine running our organization without it!!
Pros: As a small organization, we have benefited greatly from having everything in one system. DonorView has allowed us to move registration and ticket sales online--improving the experience of the families we serve. It has also provided better tracking and management of participant and family information--which has alleviated a lot of paperwork for our staff. Our communications have improved by using the email marketing system--and not to mention, the look of our website is much more professional! DonorView is easy to use--both for parents who are signing up for our programs, but also internally for staff and volunteers who work in the system.
Cons: The system can take some time to get comfortable with.

Pros: what I liked the most about DonorView is that you can handle donations, marketing campaigns and other fundraising in one product
Cons: the price per month is a little steep for a Non-profit start-up

Pros: The capability to have a donor app were you can choose the payment. Capture donor data from gifts to events.
Cons: Experienced login issues and had to log in twice at times

The experience with DonorView has been great. The level of care from the team has been really useful as we navigate all the complexities of what this tool can offer us.
Pros: One of the most amazing things about DonorView is the level of prompt, useful support that is available. The team is always there to answer questions and help with issues - and that is greatly appreciated, especially when first getting started with the program!
Cons: The one issue that sometimes comes up is that the pages will take a while to load and sometimes hang altogether. Most of the time the page response is really swift - but occasionally it will get really slow and that can be frustrating.

It's been A+! I installed this during my busiest time of year and have already started saving time with the mail merge feature and online donation pages. Magic!
Pros: DonorView is the fundraiser's fundraising platform. 1 spot for events, donations, pledges, etc. It's great!
Cons: The hardest thing is the training. It's not difficult, but you need to be able to do some self-directed learning or get help 1 on 1. It's intuitive, but takes a minute to understand the terms and vocabulary.

Pros: The program has many options. It's intriguing to have an all-in-one program for the price.
Cons: $8d

I have had a great experience with donor view especially with their customer service. They have always been very prompt in responding and extremely helpful.
Pros: The overview of all events summaries and how easy it is to export reporting
Cons: It doesn't have all of the event planning abilities that I need.
Danielle B. · Evvent Coordinator · Non-Profit Organization Management · September 29, 2024
It was difficult to set up. We paid for almost 2 months of service before we could actually use the software. It was not user friendly at all. While they do have good support, we had to continually rely on support to be able to figure out how to do most anything because their technology is so primitive. We paid for a whole year, but only used them for about 4 months. No refunds.
Pros: The IDEA that it could do so much for such a great price.
Cons: That it was like working with a program from the 1990's.
Theresa W. · Executive Director · Non-Profit Organization Management · August 7, 2024
Pros: Donorview is able to meet most of the needs of our organization and its administrative needs. We were looking for a system to handle youth memberships, incoming donations, and ticketed events for our season. We have been able to also use the features of email campaigns to eliminate another program and combine systems.
Cons: It can be a slight bit clunky to use and takes a bit of learning to use.

Disappointing. Very Disappointing Disappointing.
Pros: Nothing. Absolutely Nothing. Nothing....
Cons: Cumbersome. Very Cumbersome. Cumbersome.

Pros: I am new to this product. I had a question about the data I was seeing. I sent an email and within the hour I had the answer I needed.
Cons: I do not know all that it is capable of yet.
Brad M. · RBT Marketing Director · Education Management · April 2, 2024
I really like most everything about it, and I have used others. I wish it was not so complicated.
Pros: Everything is in one place. Setting up the events pages are fairly intuitive and easy to figure out. CRM is easy to use and has a lot of fields for information. Auction forms look nice.
Cons: Using the event check in and getting peoples cards swiped when they check in. Takes too long, had to do a lot of manual entries. Cannot get a total for each attendee on what they purchased during the event and we cannot see an itemized invoice. Very difficult to issue a refund because you cannot find where to do it. Too many options.
Laurey M. · Executive Director · Non-Profit Organization Management · March 28, 2024
Pros: Our team was quite impressed with multiple features DonorView has to offer when we first saw the Demo. Prior to switching over to DonorView, our organization used four software vendors to accomplish our goals.
Cons: So far nothing specific to report! The software has so many features that our team hasn't had any need to explore other features that may be relevant to other nonprofit organizations.
Sagar B. · CEO · Non-Profit Organization Management · March 27, 2024
Pros: The automated notifications were nice and I like being able to save reports and donor views for different looks.
Cons: The system is just overall difficult to use and a lot of the functionality we were shown during our demo ended up being add-ons that we couldn't afford. Overall, it makes targeted communication with donors difficult and limits my ability to speak to donors the way I'd like.
Sarah N. · Development and Assessment Director · Non-Profit Organization Management · February 21, 2024
Overall, we still really like the product, but more training for the trainers would be ideal. Make sure organizations are aware of the exact items they get to use before making them sound free.
Pros: I love that Donorview has the capability to help hold all of our information. As a non profit organization, it is so easy to get lost having to use multiple different software programs for donor management, fundraising events, etc. With donorview, everything is here- like a "one stop shop".
Cons: We had a great introduction/ tour of donorview, the sales man was wonderful and insightful. This all sounded like an amazing deal, especially for the price. However, as we have started using the program more, a lot of the options we had discussed during the initial meeting turned out to be some or of add on. One(s) that we would need to pay for (on top of the initial costs) in order to use. This was very discouraging. And the training videos are also added expenses.
Stephanie M. · Assistant Director · Non-Profit Organization Management · February 8, 2024
Very pleased. Most features work well and any issue is easily resolved by the more than competent customer service team.
Pros: It has a lot of potential that our organization has not tapped. There is room for us to grow within the product.
Cons: I would like more flexibility in designing an event/webpage.
Kate G. · Executive Coordinator · Non-Profit Organization Management · February 8, 2024
They do an amazing presentation that reels you into loving the software, but you quickly find out how awkward and difficult to use it is. It also takes a while to load the software with your date so that it is "useable", and by that time the free trial is over and you are locked into a contract.
Pros: I enjoy being able to create a newsletter and see a snapshot of how well it performed once sent.
Cons: As a millennial I consider myself very adaptable to new technology, but this platform is just overall difficult to use. There are training videos available and you can sign up for webinar training sessions, but even during those live sessions they have an agenda of items to cover (not all of which are relevant to what you may be trying to use the software for) and there is minimal time to have someone actually answer your questions. If you pay more, of course you can have more individualized training, but all the clunkiness of the software it is a big deterrent from using this platform in the future.
Alexis D. · Outreach Coordinator · Hospital & Health Care · February 8, 2024
Our overall experience with DonorView has been wonderful. I highly recommend this system to anyone in the Nonprofit world.
Pros: DonorView makes contacting and keeping our donors, sponsor and community members apprised of what our organization is doing easy. To have one system to handle donations, fundraising, volunteer times, sponsorships, grants, and marketing has cut down on the time we spend on just data entry alone. The ability to have a system in place where any staff member or board member can access all the information about what keeps the organization going no matter where they are at has proven to be beneficial time and time again. I am amazed at everything this system has allowed us to do and highly recommend it.
Cons: No system is perfect but DonorView is always looking for ways to improve the system based on recommendations from it's clients. The initial set up of the system was rather time consuming but well worth it in the end.
Stacy J. · Executive Director · Non-Profit Organization Management · February 6, 2024
Pros: Fairly easy to use. Onboarding was great as well as their website builder.
Cons: I couldn’t afford the full support package and getting help is hard through emails only. I prefer to talk to customer support.
Brian G. · Director of Marketing · Health, Wellness and Fitness · February 2, 2024
DonorView has made keeping track of your donors and mailing lists so much easier. It's all in one place instead of being spread out over a variety of applications.
Pros: DonorView is easy to use and is very feature rich and comparable to much costlier products. Having mailing lists and donor management all in one place has been very helpful and a big time savings.
Cons: Some of the navigation is a little confusing.
Susan J. · Development Committee Chair · Non-Profit Organization Management · January 30, 2024
Pros: DonorView is pretty user friendly. Once things are figured out, and utilized a few times, it is relatively easy moving forward. Sending emails, managing constituent information, and creating newsletters work well with this program.
Cons: When using the Constituents link, at times it would save a step if the back arrow lead to the alphabetized page that had just been used instead of going back to the first page at the top of the alphabet every time.
Cindy K. · Volunteer Coordinator · Non-Profit Organization Management · January 29, 2024
Pros: I found it easy to use right away and it seems really customizable.
Cons: Data management isn't very fun, so I can't really complain. It is what it is.
