We use Vitrium to provide standards to the pumping industry as a whole, and the entire process went very smoothly. I was expecting far more issues when we finally went live but our users were able to almost seamlessly switch over.
Pros: Set up was great and it was easy to understand. They have always been available to answer questions when needed.
Cons: They weren't able to support the subscription model we needed, so we had to hire someone else to build an entire integration for it.

Extremely responsive support...and everyone on the team has been encouraging and helpful. I do not have sufficient technical background to do this on my own, and they have been very kind and patient. I am thrilled with how the system works for us.
Pros: It makes the process of selling our digital books extremely easy. Customers purchase through our Shopify website, and thanks to the integration that Vitrium developed for us, users are automatically enabled, orders are marked as fulfilled, and added work for that order is minimal. I always smile when I see a digital order come through because I know that there's nothing more that I need to do.
Cons: I wish there were a way to limit the number of prints allowed, but I understand that this is a limitation of the fact that printing has to go through the windows/Mac dialogue and it cannot track prints over time.

Again, easy to work with. Pretty straightforward and not too clunky.
Pros: It's pretty easy to understand after a slightly steep learning curve. Very safe and secure and very responsive client support.
Cons: I didn't really dislike anything in particular, sometimes it's easy to forget to check a box or a permission that you have to backtrack to fix.

Vitrium is a great product with a responsive customer service team.
Pros: Vitrium is easy to use for posting research and for our clients to access. It is an intuitive software.
Cons: To date we like the service and have not found any drawbacks.

My overall experience has been great. If I need assistance the help desk gets back to me quickly. My end users have had a pleasant experience with the platform when accessing content and setting up content was quick to learn in the beginning.
Pros: The simplicity for the end user has been great
Cons: The refresh time after I have removed permissions can take a moment before I am able to delete content. Which adds extra time to my workload.

Pros: the 72 hour window, the fact that this cannot be photographed while under review.
Cons: No issues with the security of this portal.

We use it for PDF reports which we share internally and with clients, allowing us to track usage and give different options for protecting documents.
Pros: The way the platform has developed its security options to be able to track usage, add/delete user permissions, and have a PDF document which is alo protected is great.
Cons: I would like to be able to protect excel files natively.

I can't say enough good things about working with Vitrium. Everyone you will encounter from Vitrium is very helpful and kind. The onboarding process is great, and they never let you feel like you're unsupported.
Pros: I like knowing that our programs that took years of work to produce are protected from IP theft, while still being easily accessed by our paying clients through and easy to navigate user portal. Our workbooks are interactive, so having the ability to have fillable documents with annotations was very important and Vitrium handles it well.
Cons: I wish the thumbnails in the user portal could be entirely an image without the text area at the bottom (there is a work around for this, but it's not perfect).

Pros: Vitrium is very easy to use as an administrator as well as a user. I like that we can securely protect our information and view the audit trail of information the users accessed. Vitrium's customer support is very responsive and helpful.
Cons: There are occasionally clients that receive a proxy error that cannot be fixed. However, this is not a common occurance.

Over the last six years Vitrium has been a great system that compliments our proprietary web application.
Pros: The Web Viewer is an excellent tool that allows our users to quickly view critical PDF documents while preventing them from copy, save and print.
Cons: Some of the old tools that Vitrium used to offer are not available any longer.
Jason C. · CTO · Education Management · April 24, 2023
Pros: Cloud based Web portal allow quick deploy and fruition for end users. Print and Copy restrictions work properly and are not too difficult to understand and setup. Reporting could be improved but already has built in most reports.
Cons: No out-of-the-box connectors for other Content management systems but there are APIs to allow you reach the target if needed.
Federico M. · IT Project Manager · Construction · November 16, 2022
Pros: The software was easy to setup and implement. It has many features and am particularly pleased that they improved the annotation tool.
Cons: Pricing is quite high. I would prefer if there was a few more tiers to make it more accessible.

Vitrium made it possible for us to work with remote dealers for our products and provide them with an easy-to-use solution. The training and ongoing support we've received from Vitrium has been exemplary, which goes a long way toward inspiring confidence in their product.
Pros: We had a very specific need for supplying protected PDF documents to a select audience, and when we researched the various vendors in this space, Vitrium just checked all the boxes. Their software provides the level of protection we need, while still allowing for high-resolution printing without providing uncontrolled access to source documents.
Cons: Adding new users and setting up their access to individual documents (and modifying access for existing users) can be somewhat cumbersome; I wouldn't mind seeing Vitrium streamline this somewhat by enhancing the functions available in some dialog boxes.

Keeping our courses materials "locked" so that attendees cannot print, save or share the materials with others. Easy to use and great tech support if needed.
Pros: We need to keep our materials copy-righted, so that attendees cannot share, print, copy our materials to use for their own. This product does that.
Cons: I can't think of anything that I do not like about this software. It's currently doing exactly what we wanted it to do, keeping our documents secure, non printable, shareable or saveable.
Kimberly P. · Corporate Meeting Planner/Executive Education Administrator · Professional Training & Coaching · September 13, 2022
I appreciate the great customer service, it's been very smooth to work with this team.
Pros: I like that we can see every details of users access to our materials. This helps us know who is viewing, printing, and generally accessing our content. I also love that we can see how far they've scrolled. The detailed tracking and lock down on copy/paste/screenshot are our favorite features.
Cons: The general look and feel is dated and it definitely feels like a file cabinet versus an actual platform to use to teach material from.
Angela F. · Operations Manager · E-Learning · September 13, 2022
Has been a breeze to set up and administer and it's constantly evolving to a better product based on user feature requests.
Pros: Ease of use and the level of customisation
Cons: Screen reading / accessibility options not available in our current use
Josh C. · Systems & Projects Manager · Education Management · August 9, 2021
Excellent product, easy to integrate, Good Admin Tool set, Good WEbViewer tool for clients to personalize their notes. Full fledged futures in the DRM Space
Pros: Easy to Integrate. Their API's are the best to integrate seamlessly WebViewer for Document viewing and personalization is best Policy management is Good WaterMarking capabilities are good SSO integration is seamless
Cons: If you are looking for only DRM , this is best, else you have to see what can this do. This product has more than what is needed.
Suryanarayana M. · Integration Architect, IT Manager · Consumer Services · August 4, 2021
Pros: Vitrium is able to accommodate some of our business requirements that are enhancements to their product. They are easy to integrate with.
Cons: Vitrium should consider enhancing their APIs to allow for bulk processing, as we have run into issues when we submit a large number of API requests. Also, they need to support more PDF readers.
Patricia T. · Senior Technical Architect · Non-Profit Organization Management · August 4, 2021
Vitrium has provided excellent support to us. The initial conversions that were troublesome, presented a challenge to the Vitrium support staff, but they were equal to the challenge.
Pros: Vitrium has provided our company with an secure way of selling our resources in the digital environment. The software provides many features that enhance the end-user experience for our product. Administration is very simple.
Cons: Conversion from a rich PDF file was not simple. Effects applied in the InDesign software and thus apparent in our PDF supplied for conversion to the Vitrium platform didn't convert easily. Once these effects were removed the conversion was easy.
Gail W. · Director · Publishing · August 3, 2021
Pros: Both the Vitrium product and team have been a pleasure to work with. We pose an unusual use case and Vitrium has been exceptionally accommodating and helpful.
Cons: The only weakness is the reduced ability for our students to annotate the protected PDF files.
Andy R. · Owner · E-Learning · July 31, 2021
Excellent!
Pros: The software protects our high value content in a cost effective way
Cons: The customers find it more difficult to use than a normal pdf
Bruce L. · SVP Sales · Gambling & Casinos · July 30, 2021
Pros: There doesn't seem to be another service on the market that would be able to serve our unique use-case.
Cons: When purchasing this service, there was a considerable lack of clarity around the ability to prevent users from printing protected documents as a PDF to circumvent the security measures. These restrictions are actually quite limited in their scope and I would like to see the service developed to allow users to print to paper without printing to PDF.
Kailey H. · Product Development Coordinator · Education Management · July 30, 2021
Vitrium allows me to securely share educational resources with our members. So far it has been a very positive experience.
Pros: I value the attentiveness and responsiveness of the support offered by Vitrium.
Cons: The weakest link in the product is the user interface.
