Pros: Fast system with ability to code in just about any business rule imaginable. Makes this a powerful and customizable shipping software when on-premises server is used.
Cons: Lengthy development time. Support with on-premises server and coding is timely as not all techs are up to speed with the "older" code.

My overall experience with ProShip felt custom and bespoke. Nothing about our environment is the exact same as any other organization and ProShip's team worked with us to make it work.
Pros: I enjoyed working with the ProShip staff and being apart of the team during our software implementation.
Cons: This one is out of my control and does not reflect ProShip's products; the price is hefty for a small business, but worth it nonetheless.

Some personnel are great, others are not as informed and lack knowledge of the system. When you get the right tech all goes very smooth.

Pros: When it works it handles the shipping department efficiently.
Cons: Issues take time to resolve. Problems that have to be universal are treated as one company's issue and downplayed.
Catherine H. · IT DIrector · Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing · September 10, 2024
Overall, we are very happy with our overall experience with Proship.
Pros: Once integrated, Proship works extremely well and allows for complicated customization to suit our needs.
Cons: The only real con is the initial cost and the renewal costs.
Mike K. · VP Operations · Wholesale · September 10, 2024
It started great. We had an awesome engineer who did all the custom programming and trained all our users. He had the support team setup in a way where they understood our setup and provided the proper support. At some point the support started to decline and in my estimation continues to do so. It is to a point where if I were younger and had many years left with the company I would start to look for another solution.
Pros: The product seems to work well and suites our needs. It talks perfectly with our rather outdated ERP system.
Cons: The support team leaves a lot to be desired. We struggle getting timely assistance and hear nothing but excuses. The engineers do not communicate with each other. We have to answer the same questions multiple times. Their expectations of our internal knowledge is unreasonable.
Thomas W. · VP, Information Systems · Wholesale · September 10, 2024
I enjoy dealing with an important vendor who doesn't act like we need them and we will just have to put up will sorry service because of our dependency. Our previous vendor found out that it is possible for customers to leave. ProShip shows they value their customers and work to partner with them.
Pros: The system works well. The updates come regularly and implementing them is a breeze. Their support is actually supportive! That is a plus!
Cons: I love the documentation, but it does seem like there are some docs out there that need some attention. At least they are out there, though. I am happy about that. :-)

The overall day-to-day experience with ProShip has been great. The product is reliable and "just works." The methods to add devices at stations (i.e. Scanners and Printers) is antiquated but is stable and works when the proper methods are applied. Support, however, has been far from great. Despite multiple calls with support management, we tend to always run into the same issue of a ticket taking days to get escalated to a higher level technician who can actually provide us with the answer/fix that is needed to resolve the root issue. The most frustrating part is spending days answering questions that were answered either in the initial ticket or follow-up replies. I do not feel I am being overly harsh in saying our support experience has typically not been adequate for our needs as a business.
Pros: The product is reliable and works well day-to-day.
Cons: Our experience with technical support has been consistently inadequate. Days go by answering basic questions that were answered in the initial ticket. Weeks can go by before resolution of a more complex issue.
Ron J. · Senior Network Engineer · Logistics and Supply Chain · September 10, 2024
Excellent - great to work with and assist with any questions
Pros: How it makes shipping with multiple carriers easier
Cons: Sometimes wait too long for answers to support issues.
Anne K. · Director of IT and Operations · Wholesale · September 10, 2024
Overall, Proship is a great vendor for Omnipress. They have worked closely with us to integrate many customizations to meet our customer's needs.
Pros: The flexibility of working with different shipping vendors with different requirements.
Cons: The customer service team could have better time management skills to response times with open tickets.
Eric S. · Fulfillment Product Manager · Package/Freight Delivery · September 10, 2024
it has been good but we had to do a lot of internal additional monitoring for services.
Pros: both the features in Proship -rate shopping between logistics -ADS feature for promised date
Cons: support model when it comes to underlying services
Venkata V. · Senior Director of Engineering · Retail · September 10, 2024
I enjoy working with ProShip their engineers are always courteous and very knowledgeable and willing to jump in head first to find a solution to the problem at hand.
Pros: They are always willing to look into an issue and help their customers find a solution for their problem. Very knowledgeable staff, they all know their area which is important while attempting to resolve issues.
Cons: They don't have many resources to help on weekends and there are some occasions that it's very hard to get support. There are also instances they don't respond to tickets.
Chris V. · Associate Product Manager · Retail · August 15, 2024
For day to day use it works well. I would like if the things we do in the script could be put into a UI.
Pros: That it works with so many carriers and is easy to use for my end useres.
Cons: It seems you need to be able to wright code to make changes for anything.
Shawn G. · IT Director · Logistics and Supply Chain · August 14, 2024
Pros: The update process for the product is very good. Response time is really low, and this tool is highly reliable.
Cons: If there is tie between two shippers, then some configurations could help us to set which one would win by default.
Subhash M. · Software Develper · Logistics and Supply Chain · August 14, 2024
Pros: I was impressed with the seamless service provided by this company. Everything was handled with remarkable efficiency.
Cons: Our recent experience with ProShip has revealed some areas for improvement, particularly in the realm of communication.
Jane S. · Business Analyst · Wholesale · August 14, 2024
Pros: Multi-carrier rating, customization, automation around label printing and commercial invoices.
Cons: Long integration process, found some functionality to not exist and needed custom coding in order to execute properly.
Chris L. · Transportation Category Manager · Industrial Automation · August 14, 2024
Overall a great experience, support is always responsive and follows up on tickets. It does sometimes feel a bit expensive overall for our company but understandably the costs align with any other software in this space.
Pros: Highly customizable, which can be both a good and bad thing. However, the ProShip team is always very helpful and accommodating trying to find solutions to situations that come up with carriers or our clients.
Cons: It is sometimes frustrating when major carriers have updates and it seems like ProShip is not prepared. This is not always directly at the fault of ProShip but rather on the shipping carriers themselves, however we really don't have a choice but to remain compliant with the carriers even if ProShip was not given ample time to prepare for the changes.
Nick L. · IT Manager · Logistics and Supply Chain · August 14, 2024
Good Customer service, response time is good and techs seem to know what they are doing most times
Pros: easy integration with fedex, and other carriers
Cons: integration with UPS needs to be more robust
Daniel G. · BSA · Warehousing · August 14, 2024
Setup and configuration was a little rocky but very reliable after go live
Pros: Multiple shipping carriers in one application and the preprinting of labels
Cons: Not supporting 300 DPI in the out of the box application
Scot M. · Supply Chain Program Manager · Education Management · August 14, 2024
Pros: Proship has been able to meet our needs in North America. Once implemented, the support they provide is reliable and our custom requirement needs continue to be met by Proship.
Cons: Implementing a new carrier that hasn't been utilized previously by other Proship clients can be challenging in project time/cost.
Joel S. · IT Distribution Manager · Sporting Goods · September 15, 2023
It was a complete nightmare. It took around 1.5 to 2 years to get it working and the people at ProShip had no clue as to what they were doing. In addition, ProShip does not honor its contracts with its customers. We have several features that were listed in the contract that never were completed and ProShip now refuses to complete those features without us paying for them a second time.
Pros: We purchased ProShip because we were told it was a Multi-Carrier Shipping Solution when in fact that is not true. We needed a small parcel processing system to handle our multi-warehouse 3PL operations and we were told that ProShip could handle it. This was all a lie, ProShip is not shipping software, it is a development environment geared toward shipping. This means that out of the box with no programming ProShip cannot ship anything.
Cons: The fact that we were deceived as to what ProShip was. ProShip does nothing out of the box, it is merely a development environment. To say that ProShip is a shipping solution is like saying C++ is an Shipping solution. Granted you can develop a shipping solution in C++, but that does not make the actual C++ application one.
Victor I. · Director of IT Integration · Warehousing · September 13, 2023
Proship has greatly simplified our charge back processes with our clients. The reporting features allows us to watch for trends in package weights or distributions and work with our carriers to adjust pricing. Their rate shopping feature has saved our clients on shipping costs on a package by package basis.
Pros: We use both the single package shipments and several custom batch processes on a daily basis. They all integrate into EOD reports which makes reconciliation and charge backs fast and efficient. Integration was a challenge due to the variations of clients and business models but the ProShip staff was very helpful and we made it through. Since then we've integrated a couple more processes and, again, they've been helpful every step of the way.
Cons: As is typical with most software, the support documentation could be easier to use. Sometimes you need to know how Proship is referring to a feature before you can look up the related information. One aspect of the product that is challenging is only being able to look up XML or void packages from the station that produced the label. If that could be done at the server level, even if just for admins, that would be helpful.
Carol O. · Postal Operations Manager · Logistics and Supply Chain · September 13, 2023
ProShip has definitely helped us get a better view of what we're shipping and has given us the tools to look into the logistics. The staff has always been extremely helpful with making our ideas work or showing alternative options with the same, if not better, results.
Pros: The ease of use for all users is the best part. From Shippers to Management, everything is customizable and user friendly. The shippers can quickly process shipments, managers can easily look into previous shipments or update order information. Other staff even has access to quote shipments and look up tracking information quickly for their customers.
Cons: So far haven't noticed anything missing, anytime we think of a new addition the ProShip team is always quick to help us implement and move forward.
Patrick R. · Software Integration and Support · Consumer Goods · September 13, 2023
ProShip has been nothing short of exceptional, and it has played a pivotal role in facilitating our accelerated growth, providing unparalleled customization options, and significantly reducing shipping errors.
Pros: We've partnered with ProShip for over 12 years. What truly sets ProShip apart is its ability to adapt to our changing business and it provides an array of customization options that go beyond standard functionality.ProShip's engineering team has continuously shown their innovative thinking and problem-solving abilities. They have consistently demonstrated their commitment to staying ahead of the curve in the ever-evolving world of shipping logistics. One of the primary reasons we chose ProShip was its reliability and scalability. As our business continues to grow, we required a software that could keep up without causing any disruptions during our busy season.
Cons: ProShip's customer support team has been generally responsive and knowledgeable. However, during periods of staffing shortages, we have noticed delays in getting assistance and problem resolution.
Dave D. · Director of Fulfillment · Warehousing · September 12, 2023
Couldn't be happier with our sales rep, customer service and software performance through the first 10 months. Very pleased with the product.
Pros: ProShip removes the uncertainty of carrier contract negotiations. I've been negotiating small package carrier agreements for 8 years. ProShip keeps the carrier agreements honest.
Cons: The legal portion of the contract wasn't easy. Once both sides agreed to sign, it was a breeze.
Tim S. · Manager of Retail Distribution Center · Retail · September 11, 2023
Pros: Functionality and ease of use, we use the office version. Integration is easy as it is PHP and you can go in and make you own mods. Makes returns for our customer service reps very easy. It also allows our warehouse to make the best decisions on the most economical way to ship for the customers.
Cons: There is some more functionality that I could have but this is more unique to the gift-ware / housewares industry. There could be some standard links to software that would help and a better way to interface your negotiated rates to the software but that is just UPS.
