Truly one of the best training classes I have been to, Instructors were awesome and very knowledgeable.
Pros: The Interaction with the Teachers, how we were able to actually do everything on our Computers that they were teaching
Cons: With the "Pros" mentioned above, I still think the Class could be 4.5 Days, some of the items were rushed a little bit and we could have spent more time on them. Converting files over for GPS Machines in particular, as well as working with CAD.

Overall I find this to be a highly effective software that is easy to use. It allows us to be more precise and competitive in our bidding. Winning bids is the name of the game.
Pros: Elevation Pro is an excellent software, well worth its price! It is hard to pinpoint one favorite feature. It is easy to learn and use making the estimating process much more simple. InSite Elevation Pro has the best customer support I have ever experienced with any bidding software. Our customers love the 3D modeling of both the existing contours as well as the proposed contours. Then being able to Geo locate the project so customers can see their project at completion, is a game changer.
Cons: There are two areas I would like to see improved. The Reports need options to combine information. The Subgrade needs a "tool box" of items previously created items in a drop down list to prevent redundancy and save time.

After learning the system, a little more, I enjoy using it for my dirt take offs. The 3D model helps give a visual of what the project will look like then complete.
Pros: Customer Service was very helpful, the videos on their website is very handy to help walk you through the system.
Cons: Not new user friendly. Some plans it doesn't pick up contour lines, so it takes a very long time to do a take-off.

I have been using InSite since doing take offs on a digitizer which is what I learned on. Their support has always been fantastic - shoutout to [sensitive content hidden]!! Being able to see InSite Elevation Pro compared to what I was using then just goes to show that they are always bettering the software every chance they get. I have no complaints of InSite Elevation Pro!
Pros: This software is very user friendly. I feel that it is very easy to learn and if you have any questions insite service is super responsive and helpful!
Cons: I don't think I can pinpoint a specific item that I do not like about the software. It is an all around great software for the dirtwork contractor!

Overall happy with the product, definitely room for additional features but provides a quick way to generate accurate earthwork quantities.
Pros: Quick and easy vectorizing of pdf files. Use this software daily and get quantities that match other reports from software like TBC and AgTek.
Cons: Limited customizations—can’t edit colors of cut fill map, can’t add nodes easily to existing boundaries

Value for your money and customer support are unbeatable. If there is something you can't figure out how to do correctly and you contact support they will make it a priority to help you to understand. Their training classes are straight to the point and the lessons you are provided with from the get go, teach you everything you need to know for success. Utilizing the 3D live features really help me to visualize my site.
Pros: The ease and efficiency of performing a grading takeoff. It is faster and easier than other platforms. Everything is very straightforward. It has increased my bidding and estimating efficiency ten fold.
Cons: I have no complaints with Insite, it is my favorite takeoff program hands down. It takes a fraction of the time to perform a grading takeoff accurately when compared to Trimble Business Center.

It's been a smooth transition from the old program to InSite Elevation. The learning curve is nowhere near as hard as I expected.
Pros: Smooth and Straight Forward. Classes are super helpful. Customer Support has been great. It can really speed up Earthwork Takeoff once you get the hang of it.
Cons: I haven't figured out an exclude area option yet. I figured out a workaround, but I feel like there is or should be an easier way to exclude any area you don't want touched.

Overall I am very pleased with my use of InSite Elevation. It saves me countless hours of cut and fill calculations, provides very clear and accurate results, and is very user friendly. The technical support they provide to their customers is great, and the development team is very active about optimizing the software to it's customers. My only caveat about the product is I do still use other takeoff software to do measurements besides the cut and fill quantities and surface square footage. That being said, the combination of InSite and another software like Bluebeam is still far cheaper per month in subscriptions than the more expensive earthwork software out there.
Pros: The accuracy of cut and fill quantities for the amount of time spent working on a project in InSite Elevation can provide is top notch. To complete a cut and fill by hand and calculate it on your own to the degree of detail InSite can do would take exponentially more time.
Cons: The takeoff tools provided in the software that are not cut and fill related(linear foot measurements, area measurements, counting) are not as adequate compared to other takeoff software out there.

Overall this is a great program that helps us effectively bid jobs and to be accurate. It is also great that support is available when needed.
Pros: The ability to to take a complex jobsite and clearly illustrate quantities of materials, cut and fill, and measurement tools, with a lot of reporting readily available.
Cons: The worst part of Insite Elevation Pro is getting all of the data put in when the software cannot identify the vector data on a PDF, which then requires manual tracing of all vector data.
Andrew C. · Estimator · Construction · March 3, 2026
Our experience with Elevation Pro has been really positive. We were super impressed with the sales team that provided the demos, which is largely why we went with InSite compared to the big names in the takeoff/estimating software industry.
Pros: What I like most about Elevation Pro is the customer support. Whenever I have a question or run into a problem, the support team is there to help me sort it out.
Cons: I wish there was a better way to keep track of overridden trenches when using a location type centerline. Most of the time, I use a location type centerline when backfill material changes as the pipe passes between hardscaped/landscaped sections. It would be nice to have a visual difference between the two so I can better keep track of what backfill type I modeled. Also, assigning colors to specific pipe layers would be awesome so I don't have to find the right color each time I create a new centerline. For example, blue is assigned to the waterline layer, green to sewer, orange to storm drain, etc.

Great software that is incredibly easy to use. I really love the convenience of it being web based and accessible from anywhere.
Pros: The 2D takeoff tools are fast and precise, while the CAD functionality handles detailed plans smoothly without lag. Its utility takeoff features are especially helpful for producing detailed, reliable estimates without extra manual work.
Cons: The only improvement I’d suggest is having the drawings and files fully embedded within the software.
Sonny S. · Chief Estimator · Construction · February 27, 2026
Pros: InSite Elevation Pro has revamped our earthwork takeoff and estimating process. A slight learning curve to start, as expected when transitioning from previous version, but update provides cleaner interface and user experience. Report functions remain the same and integrate seamlessly into our estimating software.
Cons: Toolbar and user interface did take a little longer than anticipated to overcome and familiarize self with. Also, not having the "zoom to" tools could be possible improvement.

We’ve been very satisfied with our experience with InSite. We’ve been using their software for several years now, and will continue to do so in the future.
Pros: We really enjoy the customer service we receive from InSite. They are always quick to answer any questions we may have, and have promptly walked me through any issue I’ve had.
Cons: I wish InSite would offer a training class in the Atlanta area. We would like to learn how to incorporate CAD files in our takeoffs, and feel that would be a good opportunity to learn how.
Taylor G. · Project Manager · Construction · February 25, 2026
Very satisfied with the product, with their support and the continuous updates. I will continue to use this product for the foreseeable future.
Pros: Insite's ease of use is great. I like how every tool is easy to find and intuitive. 3D view is also a great tool
Cons: I wish it was easier to set up certain files. Some times CAD files are complicated and takes too long to start working
Manny N. · President · Construction · February 24, 2026
Pros: It's incredibly easy to use. Being able to move your screens and views around if you have multiple monitors makes customizing your workflow to however you want it. The trainings are super informative and having videos embedded in the manual makes it so regardless of your learning style, you can find the answer you're looking for.
Cons: The only thing I can say that I don't like is that I don't have the opportunity to use the program more day-to-day.
Eric B. · Senior Estimator · Construction · February 24, 2026
It has been great. customer service has been excellent and the program gives us exactly what we need to provide an accurate bid and execute well in the field.
Pros: It is a well designed software. It gives the features and data you need to provide accurate estimates and execute well in the field.
Cons: The Learning curve is a little longer than I would want, to gain expect a high proficiency of usage.
Hunter L. · Internal Business Development · Construction · February 24, 2026
Overall experience is good to great. The ease of take-offs makes quick work to finish an accurate take-off.
Pros: The program is straight forward with a reference manual in the program, the technical support is great.
Cons: It is clunky the modify the alignment rectangle, some of the smaller less used features are difficult to make work properly.

Overall my experience has been excellent. Insite elevation pro has been very beneficial for our estimating department to be able to accurately take off earthwork projects.
Pros: Training. The training tutorials, videos, and classes make it very easy for a beginner with little to no experience learn how to use the software effectively. That was incredibly important for me and my company to be able to teach ourselves on our own time.
Cons: The cost. Overall the cost is very good for what you get, however, it would be nice to see the prices come down a touch.
Patrick M. · Project Manager · Construction · February 24, 2026
Insite Elevation Pro has been a tremendous asset to our estimating team. From simple, quick take-offs to elaborate, multi-phase projects, Insite can handle it.
Pros: Insite Elevation Pro is very easy to learn and use. 3D Live makes it easy to spot any take-off issues. The staff is always on call, ready and willing to help with any questions.
Cons: Insite Elevation Pro is an ever evolving program. Regular updates keep things running smooth and often come with new features. If there's something you don't like, let them know. It might just get incorporated into the next update.
Chris V. · Estimator · Construction · February 23, 2026
My overall experience has been excellent. The software handles a wide range of construction site takeoffs while remaining reasonably priced, and I truly hope their pricing and support model never changes because both are major strengths. The InSite team consistently releases updates and adds new features, showing ongoing commitment to customer needs and long‑term product improvement. It’s a reliable, efficient, and cost‑effective solution that continues to deliver value on every project.
Pros: $79
Cons: There really isn’t much to dislike about the software itself. Most issues you run into come from poorly created CAD files from engineers, not from InSite. If I could request one improvement, it would be the addition of AI that can read textures and help automate concrete, asphalt, and landscape takeoffs. That enhancement would elevate an already strong platform even further.
Cody C. · Project Manager · Construction · February 21, 2026
Anytime there is an issue or I don't know how to do something, Insite's customer support is readily available and knowledgeable to answer questions. If needed, they can quickly remote into the program to look at it directly, not only telling me what to do but also showing me. Insite also periodically makes updates to take care of any gliches that may come up, and also add new features to improve program features and functions. for example, they recently added a feature to adjust the size of the numbers and letters that are printed on the printout maps, to match the size of the map and make them more readable when printed. Just like any estimating program, you have to learn how to input the information so it's useable when it comes out, but overall I've found this process relatively easy, and the reports very informative and useful. It creates accurate and useful data and maps very quickly and efficiently, and is a good value for the money.
Pros: I have been estimating for decades, going back to digitizer boards and early desktop computers. I've watched the evolution from them to takeoffs on multiple large monitors and lightning fast computers. Elevation Pro has proven to be very fast and efficient at inputting information. On multi-page projects, I can set plan scale and tie plans together in minutes. Being able to pull up multiple plan sheets simultaneously, I can cross reference and input data from multiple sources without having to get out of one to get into the others. While tracing contours, sloping lines, subgrades, etc., vector points pop up ahead of where I've traced, making imputing the data faster and more accurate.
Cons: The vector points are very useful, but they tend to be very jittery, popping in and out. Sometimes when multiple lines are close together, it can be like a wack-a-mole trying to click on them before they disappear again. It can be a little intense, but you get used to it. I would also like to be able to cut out sections of a subgrade, such as islands in a parking lot, without having to keyhole them, or rely on using higher numbered areas to accomplish this. Relying solely on numbered areas requires you to perfectly plan ahead for every contingency before you begin. If something changes or unknowns become apparent, you may have to redo some or all of the data. Fortunately, entering subgrade data is very fast, so it minimizes the hassle.

It’s helped us save time, keep information in one place, and cut down on errors. Anytime we’ve had questions, support has been quick to respond and very helpful. Overall, it’s been a solid investment for us, and I’d definitely recommend it to other contractors.
Pros: We’ve been really happy with Insite Elevation Pro. It’s made our takeoffs and overall workflow a lot more organized and way more efficient. The system is easy to use, so our team was able to get comfortable with it pretty quickly. One of the biggest advantages for us has been the accuracy!
Cons: If I had to pick one least-favorite thing, it would be that some features take a little time to learn at first, but once you get used to them, they work really well.
Ana F. · Office Manager · Civil Engineering · February 11, 2026
Overall I am very impressed with the program. It has made estimating job site significantly faster and more accurate. Insite Elevation Pro is a tool that is essential for estimating in a world that is data decision driven.
Pros: InSite Elevation Pro is very user friendly, and the user guide is easy to follow. The technical support team is very responsive and helpful.
Cons: Learning how to utilize the trenching feature was difficult at first but after taking the online training and working with an instructor, it became easy to use after receiving helpful tips and tricks that were not covered in the user guide
Adam V. · Project Manager · Construction · February 11, 2026
Insite is a great product that helps us get accurate earthwork takeoff results efficiently. The ease of use, accurate results, and helpful technical support provides a great experience for the user.
Pros: Insite is relatively easy to use and learn how to use for new users. It has all the capabilities we need for our earthwork takeoffs and provides accurate takeoffs. The technical support is very responsive and quick to provide help when needed.
Cons: I would like to be able to manually enter a scale for the drawings. Sometimes we run into drawings without a measurable scale shown so it would be nice to be able to enter the scale manually without having to select 2 points. I would also like to be able to enter more than 8 strata's in the boring log chart.

I have been utilizing InSite Elevation Pro since its release. Prior to that I utilized the previous InSite program for take offs. The ease of use, constant improvements and the ability to accurately take off 3-4 Civil jobs per week make it my choice for a take off program.
Pros: InSite Elevation Pro provides immediate and constant support when needed. It is budget-friendly, but yet provides all of the necessary information and quality, easy to read reports. This allows me to be confident on my bids and has sped up my estimating process.
Cons: There is not much to dislike about this program. I do use the program for 25-40 hours per week. I would like the program to make it easier to generate a TP3 Surface for my machines. It is possible, but it is currently quite a process. I also would eventually like to see a "dark" option for viewing and perhaps the ability to select more muted colors. Overall, the product leaves little to complain about.
