Overall, estimating is a lot easier and quicker using Countfire than without it. It is easy to use and saves a lot of time
Pros: That you can measure drawings and it collects most of the items you need to count on multiple drawings at once
Cons: Sometimes, (dependant on the quality of the drawings) the software struggles to pick up the symbols correctly leading to having to carry out a manual count

Overall, Countfire was a very effective estimating tool that significantly improved speed and accuracy compared to manual take‑offs. Once set up properly, it provided a reliable platform for producing professional estimates and helped streamline the tendering process. It’s a strong piece of software for electrical and building services estimating.
Pros: Countfire made the estimating process much quicker and more consistent. The take‑off tools were easy to use, and the built‑in rules helped reduce errors when measuring containment, cabling, and builderswork. It was especially useful for producing structured, repeatable estimates without having to manually calculate everything each time.
Cons: Occasionally, drawings could take a while to process or load, particularly on larger or more complex projects. However, this often appeared to be related to the quality or formatting of the PDF drawings rather than an issue with the software itself.

So far it's been excellent, I am taking off drawings with ease and with time i will improve my efficiency of taking off drawings .
Pros: Customer Support was fantastic - Very fast response times to queries that i had. I felt very assured .
Cons: Training sessions need to be 1.5 hour minimum for 1st time users . My initial 45 session although very good . I felt i needed another session .

my overall experience has been pretty good and it seems very user friendly. The team are very responsive when something goes wrong.
Pros: Its so easy to use and very helpful with take offs. its very easy to upload information and work you way around a drawing as well as mark it up.
Cons: nothing at this moment in time. I haven't found any problems as it seems to work fine and even when there was a problem the team was very responsive.

Overall very pleased with using countfire, could do with tweaks but really speeds up mechanical take off's
Pros: Excellent tool for estimating, customer support and training is excellent, very through. I am a first time user and have had great support
Cons: There are not many, there a few minor tweaks that could improve the overall experience, but can't think of anything offhand to complaint n about

As a new user my experience has been positive. Nice clean interface. Easy to learn. Take-off time is reduced and accuracy is increased.
Pros: Speeds up my take-off, now they are less of a chore. Quick responses from Customer Services. Easy to learn how to use.
Cons: No CTRL + Z undo function, though you can refresh your page but that reverts back to the last saved version.

I have had a brilliant experience with countfire so far. I would recommend it to everyone within this industry.
Pros: The system is brilliant, it streamlines the whole take off process increasing the daily productivity.
Cons: Sometimes it seems like it can be a bit numb - id click on an item and it wouldnt have selected it, which can result in counting the wrong items.
Andy M. · estimator · Construction · March 22, 2026
Positive experience, fortunately I work alongside electricians who know the system very well and they have been able to help me get into the swing of things straight away.
Pros: Ability to use the system as a mechanical estimator, I always assumed that it was electrically biased. The support team are there around the clock and quickly get back and solve your issues or answer any queries you have.
Cons: I think being able to reduce the size of measurements and take off symbols. It can get quite clustered at the end of the job, despite having the ability to remove layers of the drawings.

Fantastic to use and crucial to turn around estimates quickly. Customer service is fantastic however due to ease of use, there are very rarely any major issues to deal with.
Pros: Easy to use. Saves a huge amount of time on take-offs. Presents the data in a format which is easy to interpret.
Cons: Some larger drawings can affect the functionality of the software and slow down take-offs. This is more a drawing quality issue though.

Fantastic, From the start they have been incredible. Any issues and the live chat team will respond in minutes.
Pros: Support is a next level, team are super fast and active. Anything help you need you can contact the live support team. They will try to fix your issue using Zoom or Teams within a few minutes. Ive never been longer than 5 minutes without someone responding and fixing my issue. (Issue was caused by me learning the software)
Cons: Honestly, It does exactly what i need to with ease, I dont have any Cons. It may not be the cheapest. But you get what you pay for. The time i save this software pays for itself for the month in a day or 2.

my overall experience is very good, countfire its self is great it is just very dependant on the level of the drawing fed in to it.
Pros: the way it counts across drawings is great, the way you can side by side documents to assess changes in specs etc is brilliant, and how you can override drawings with new stages.
Cons: the only real problems i have with it is normally if the drawing is bad i.e it has images on it and not done correctly at the designer end.
Paul E. · Electrical Estimator · Construction · January 19, 2026
Overall great. helped save time within tendering and have given our Project management team a great overview of what is required and items needed.
Pros: The look and feel of the app is clear and concise, ease of use is great. exporting of take offs are clear and well presented.
Cons: Not much to not like, usually the quality of PDF that make it hard if the PDF is not a good quality.
Adam D. · Estimating manager · Construction · January 14, 2026
Very good. The whole entrance to the Countfire ecosystem and software was easy and provided a very short period of time from entry to actually producing take offs. In the midst of the trial period and beyond the Countfire support was there providing tips and tricks on how to maximise productivity and produce accurate results. The AI built in was also very helpful and shortened the process down.
Pros: The software provides such a quick and easy way in to taking off from a drawing and provides so much functionality whilst also giving a fast entry point for users who have never used software before. Was the biggest plus point for me along with all the customer support.
Cons: Probably the estimating package but I think that was more down to me than the actual software itself which provided all the functionality that you might get with more expensive taking off and estimating packages.

overall its a fantastic system and saves so much time, we can take off multiple tenders at once due to the time we save.
Pros: the time it saves when counting a a new project, its brillaint once exported and laid out perfectly in microsfot excel which is easy to then move around and sort.
Cons: sometimes the system can be slow when reading drawing and sometimes it cant read the symbols perfectly first time.
adam p. · Head of procurement · Construction · November 25, 2025
Very good and enjoying using it. Making take offs very quick and saves printing off drawings and cost effective.
Pros: Easiness to use and quick to upload drawing and start take offs. Like how it remembers items i have taken off on previous drawings of the same discipline.
Cons: Cant change size of the point for counting items on busy drawing. For example the circle covers other items i need to count and therefore can be missed.

My overall experience with Countfire has been great. I found it has helped me free up valuable time when estimating , compared to how I had previously worked with manual take-offs
Pros: What I liked most about Countfire , was how easily the software is to use , compared to the old method for carrying out take-offs
Cons: There was really nothing which I didn't like. Anytime I needed help , the online support was always quickly at hand
David M. · Electrical Contractor · Construction · November 4, 2025
Always good, I always receive support every time I asked for it and very quick and easy to get my work done
Pros: Straight forward software. Easy to set up your work schedule and easy to learn. Very useful the keyboard shortcuts
Cons: Every now and then the account shut down without the possibility to get access straight away. However, this isn't a big issue at all
Simone R. · Estimator · Construction · October 29, 2025
Overall, Countfire has made my estimating process faster, more accurate, and far less stressful. It’s a must-have tool for any electrical contractor or estimator looking to modernize their workflow.
Pros: I’ve been using Countfire for a two months now, and it’s completely transformed how I handle electrical estimating. What I like most is the true automated takeoff feature—it allows me to mark up symbols on one drawing and instantly counts them across all drawings. This alone has saved me hours of manual work and significantly reduced errors.
Cons: For highly detailed or non-standard drawings, the automation sometimes struggles to interpret symbols or layouts accurately, requiring manual adjustments.

My experience has been very good, saved me a lot of time compared to the old unreliable ways of take offs
Pros: The ability to make take offs from multiple documents/plans very quickly The ease of creating zones across plans
Cons: When making the same two zones across multiple plans e.g exterior and interior to separate CCTV systems, the generated spreadsheet does not show you a total for each zone across all plans only a total per zone for each plan, this means you have to manually add them up which is quite time consuming
Joe R. · ELV Project Engineer · Security and Investigations · September 30, 2025
For takeoffs excellent, for estimating i am still undecided, feels like some further development is required to make it more flexible.
Pros: speedy takeoffs - intuitive system. learns for future drawings so you don't need to assign reference for every drawing. excellent training provided and good customer support.
Cons: The estimating tool is clunky and difficult to adjust from takeoffs as items are already grouped by drawings.
Steven S. · Estimator · Construction · September 24, 2025
so far so good, feel like i have learned a lot in a day. still using the free trial at the moment but has saved me so much time already on a job were pricing.
Pros: I loved the fact there is someone knowledgeable generally available in a timeley fashion. the software is very user friendly and saves lots of time doing take offs.
Cons: the only thing i can think of was an issue opening an excel file which was down to my computers securtiy settings which i was guided through how to sort this issue by customer support.
marcus r. · Electrical Managing Director · Construction · September 12, 2025
Really positive. Coming from a background without much IT skills, i find the software very beginner friendly and the support from the team really helps, plus they don't make me feel inadequate when asking questions.
Pros: The support network Countfire have is exceptional. Really quick and very helpful. They are always there to go above and beyond.
Cons: I honestly cannot really pick fault with it. I struggle with any new software, but i can see how beneficial this asset can be to my business.
Tom N. · Managing Director · Construction · September 12, 2025
I have been able to start several take off's at a time and know that I will be able to pick up where i have left off easilly. This is going to make such a difference for doing quotations.
Pros: It has made doing take off's so much easier. i am able to dip in and out and never lose my place. I use the manual count function marking up the drawings and this is a great way of doing take off's for me.
Cons: The auto count function does not suit the drawings we receive as they are marked up with lots of other markings which confuses the icon's. you are able to amend the icon's but it is alot of work
Craig W. · Electrcal Estimator and Buyer · Construction · September 11, 2025
Very, very good. Getting to know the functions and tools is really good, and the support we have had has been excellent - [sensitive content hidden] in particular, who did a 1-to-1 with us, this was very useful and insightful.
Pros: There's a simplicity in the functions to the complicated nature that comes with detailed schematics and drawings. Delving further, I can see there is more depth to each function, which I know will be very useful for future use.
Cons: The load can take its time, but I know that comes from the drawings themselves, so technically it's not with Countfire directly.
Bradley H. · Assistant Estimator · Construction · August 13, 2025
My overall experience with Countfire has been spot on. It’s fast, intuitive, and has really helped us streamline how we handle take-offs. On top of that, both [sensitive content hidden] have made the training and day-to-day use incredibly easy, no overcomplicating things, just straight to the point. Their response times are also brilliant, always quick to jump in and help if needed. Can’t fault the system or the team.
Pros: I like Countfire because it’s fast, accurate, and saves me a ton of time. It auto-picks symbols, keeps everything digital and tidy, and is really easy to use. No faff, no mistakes, just quicker quotes and cleaner take-offs.
Cons: Dislikes? Honestly, nothing so far. It just works. No glitches, no clunky interface, no wasted time. It does what it says on the tin and does it well
