Overall, my experience with TheraNest was mixed — there were parts of the system I genuinely appreciated, and other areas that made my workflow harder than it needed to be. On the positive side, I liked that TheraNest brought a lot of essential tools into one place. Scheduling, notes, client information, and billing were all accessible within the same platform, and once I learned where things were, I could move through the basics fairly efficiently. The interface wasn’t flashy, but it was functional, and the core features generally did what they were supposed to do. Where I struggled was with consistency. The system had moments where it felt glitchy or required extra steps to make sure things saved correctly. Navigation sometimes felt clunky, and I often found myself clicking through more screens than seemed necessary for simple tasks. There were also areas — especially documentation and billing — where I wished the features were more
Pros: $92
Cons: $93

Billing and payment was straightforward and for the purposes I needed to use TheraNest, it met those needs.
Pros: I liked theranest for its ease of services being scheduled. The portal makes it easy to navigate and notice clinician's availability.
Cons: I found the platform to be a bit bland and non engaging. It's features were lackluster and bare. Apart from the calendar portion, I didn't find the whole platform easy to navigate.

My experience have been splendid. Very easy to access and navigate with all the basic information and guidelines.
Pros: The interfaces are well placed and easy to use. It is very easy to navigate and the information protocol is well designed.
Cons: Nothing, it is well developed . I do not have any negative report at the moment because it gives me all that I need.
Damian A. · PRP · Health, Wellness and Fitness · April 18, 2026
For what I needed it was exactly what I needed. I only have a very small case load. I did not need anything complicated
Pros: It's.easy to maneuver on e you get the basics. At first it might be a little difficult but it does not take long to get it.
Cons: Take a little long to understand but again once you get the hang of it, it's very simple to use. I recommend

Overall, the system is user-friendly and helpful for organizing notes, but frequent freezing—especially with built-in therapy grading scales—interrupts workflow and can be frustrating during sessions.
Pros: Easy-to-use therapist charting system that streamlines notes, saves time, and improves workflow daily.
Cons: Constant freezing when using built-in therapy grading scales disrupts workflow and wastes time such as GAD-7 and PHQ-9.
Taylor G. · Therapist · Mental Health Care · March 29, 2026
Overall, this product makes my life much easier. I spend significantly less time on administrative tasks thanks to its ease of use and intuitive design.
Pros: Easy to use and well organized, this platform makes navigation simple and intuitive. The task-specific links are especially helpful, allowing you to quickly access exactly what you need without wasting time searching. The calendar features are practical and streamline scheduling, while the notes section is clean and simplified, making it easy to capture and review important information.
Cons: That said, the invoicing functionality could be improved by offering more flexible time frame options to better accommodate different billing needs.

TheraNest is a great product that is getting better and better. There is less repeating of information, and fluidity between screens has greatly improved. It holds all the information that you need and condenses under specific easy-to-find tabs.
Pros: TheraNest was a great choice for my first EHR system when I opened my own practice. I had used TN for a few years as an employee only. Using it from the provider side was a smooth transition.
Cons: A few years back TN was a little bit clunky to use moving from screen to screen. Proper training in all of its features is essential.

I have been using TheraNest for over five years now. I first started using TheraNest when I was with an organization. When I moved to private practice, it was a no-brainer for me to use the same platform I had always found easy to use, and everything I needed to keep up-to-date paperwork was right at my fingertips.
Pros: What I like most about TheraNest is that it is easy to use, and the support staff are available and helpful.
Cons: There is not much that I don't like about TheraNest. I guess if I were to think about it, I would say that I would love it if there were more options in the intervention section of the treatment planning.
Mike W. · Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist · Mental Health Care · March 24, 2026
Well, I started my private practice with the TheraNest in 2021. I used Ehana at my previous job, a mental health clinic. TheraNest was quite user friendly which I appreciated the most, unlike Ehana. The scheduling, claim submission, and the ease of documentation and communication with the clients contributed to having a somehow stress free practice.
Pros: I very much appreciated the ease of use, and the fast pace of documenting my clients’ sessions. Also, being able to trust the platform as far as the sessions’ confidentiality being concerned.
Cons: In general, I did not have any significant issues with TheraNest. However, at the turn of the transition to Ensora, I seem to have lost some of my very important notes, i.e., some of the old treatment plans/documents, going back to 2021-2022. I reached out to the Ensora support team, they could not detect what had happened to those notes…still missing?!!!

Great! I think it has helped me a lot and keeps everything in tact for client paperwork and when I need something fast
Pros: The organization and that everything has a place. It makes my job easier to click on one thing and have it all be there.
Cons: Sometimes my drafts don't save automatically, and that is stressful, but it happens. I wish it would always just save
Madison T. · Student Clinical Mental Health Counselor · Mental Health Care · March 23, 2026
TheraNest has become a bit difficult to navigate, even though I like the new set up. I have not figure out how to forward my appointment to calendar.
Pros: I like TheraNest because it's easy to navigate. I find it very informative. The upgrade is easy to manage, however, difficult navigating to the calendar.
Cons: Right now I am finding TheraNest not to be very productive for me. I am unable to link my appointments to my calendar.
Annmarie D. · Therapist · Mental Health Care · March 22, 2026
Overall it has been fine. Often the feedback from ticket I get is useful and just recently, the information given did not answer the question.
Pros: Before all of the changes, I liked the ease of use. It was very easy for my office manager to toggle back and forth between the agenda and an individual calendar for a therapist to make appointments.
Cons: Changes to our workflow. My office manager must now pull up an individual person's calendar to find a spot for the client, then go back to the agenda and choose every counselor to display all appointments on the agenda view. Prior to the changes, the agenda did not change based on a calendar selection. It adds several steps to her job with EACH client and takes time.
Kelley R. · Owner, Practitioner · Mental Health Care · March 20, 2026
Overall it has been a very positive experience. I was completely unfamiliar with it before using it and learning it was not difficult.
Pros: Very easy to navigate. The improvements have helped necessary functions to be more easy to find. Overall like the navigation.
Cons: Can sometimes struggle with connection issues or items saving if I need to toggle between more than one tab.
Whitney M. · Therapist · Mental Health Care · March 19, 2026
Overall i pove how easy it is to navigate the site. I appreciate the options to review and resend patient receipts. I also appreciate the new update with booking appointments on a continuous basis, that saves me a lot of time!
Pros: I love how easy it is to use. As someone who is super busy, I always appreciate convenience and user friendly platforms!
Cons: One drawback, is whenever I finish updating a client, I always go back to the main page with everyones clients instead of just my own. I wish there was a way to just see my clients at all times.
Tyler H. · Psychologist · Mental Health Care · March 19, 2026
Over all it has been good, its getting a bit expensive as every luttle thing like using the ledger now costs so I have to use another way pf tracking my own invoices Not good
Pros: I like that is is reliable it usually works, the NEW layout isnt very user friendly anf finding things like treatment plan is hard its in an odd place as is the assessment? Please fix this
Cons: It is no longer user friendly findind intake assessment papers and treatment plans is strange and difficult to remembet. I also do not like that i cannot put a recurring telehealth appointment on the schedule.
Cathlene R. · Clinical Director · Mental Health Care · March 17, 2026
Pros: The interface is easy to navigate and looks nice. I generally feel like there are few steps I need to take to get through a process.
Cons: Telehealth is glitchy for a lot of reasons. The issue I have most is when a client tries to connect their bluetooth device like headphones. It rarely works.
Wendi W. · Provider · Mental Health Care · March 17, 2026
Pros: organization helpful for therapists to provide efficient service ease of use helpful appointment scheduling
Cons: n/a.
Autumn D. · Mental Health Counselor · Mental Health Care · March 17, 2026
I find it easy to look up my clients' notes, create assessment notes, and schedule the client for their next appointment.
Pros: I like appointment scheduling, easy-to-use notes, and assessments. I also enjoy the staff and workflow
Cons: I enjoy using Theranest. One thing that changed was the charts and notes on top of the page. But I am getting used to it.
Janice B. · CPC-I Mental Health Counselor · Mental Health Care · March 16, 2026
Overall, I have been pleased with my experience and have appreciated the use of this EHR. It was easy to learn and in the beginning I received excellent customer care and support! This is when I needed it the most.
Pros: Ease of use and set up for therapist and therapy, appointment scheduling, and staff and workflow. TheraNest has been a great value for money compared to other EHRs available.
Cons: Sometimes it is hard to get concise follow up from customer support when I put in a call. This has been the case on a few occasions when I've been trying to ask questions about insurance claims.
Blanche B. · Psychotherapist · Mental Health Care · March 16, 2026
I have been using Theranest for eight years and have found it easy to maneuver through. I like the Wiley treatment planner
Pros: Theranest is a value for the money there is great customer support if you encounter a problem and Theranest is easy to use
Cons: I do not have any complaints about Theranest. The feature that I would benefit from would be to check clients insurance.
karen m. · Counselor · Health, Wellness and Fitness · March 16, 2026
Pros: I like how many areas this system connects that would otherwise be disjointed. I like that it gets updated and upgraded regularly.
Cons: I know you have done a rehaul of the scheduling process - and this is what I've been mostly using in Theranest, but it still is lacking in many aspects, which makes it more time-consuming than necessary to use.
Irina O. · Administrator · Mental Health Care · March 16, 2026
I have been using Theranest for ten years. It didn't take very long to become accustomed to using it correctly. There was a learning curve, but I would say it was relatively short, making it easy to use in the first few weeks.
Pros: I am an independent contractor, so I don't have anything to do with billing, insurance, or staff and workflow. As a therapist, I think Theranest is easy to use and is clear how to schedule appointments, change appointments, and create and write my notes.
Cons: The treatment plans are not clear regarding target dates and whether to sign the plan when it is created or when it is completed. I have had to experiment to discover which way seems to work and found out it is okay to sign the plan when it is created.
Marlene B. · Independent Contractor · Mental Health Care · March 16, 2026
Overall experience is great, I really enjoy the customer service option and never feel as if I am left in the dark.
Pros: I love their customer service the most. Anytime I have any problems, I send customer service a message and have never ended a chat without a resolution.
Cons: There is not really one thing I dislike, but I have had some trouble with the notes & using previous notes.
Ashton F. · Family Support · Human Resources · March 16, 2026
Theranest has been great for me to schedule and document all of my clients. I am very happy. It has been helpful for me as a school counselor as well as a therapist.
Pros: Theranest is very easy to use. I have used it for years now. There is also a lot of information available when I didn't know how to use something.
Cons: having to back and forth from agenda to schedule, but that is perhaps my fault and could learn a better way to create a flow that works for me.
Sarah G. · Licensed Professional Counselor · Mental Health Care · March 16, 2026
Overall, I like Theranest and am happy with how it works when on my desktop and how it helps me run my business. The interfacing with the smartphone is the only thing that annoys me currently.
Pros: Value for money, ease of use and billing using credit card. Scheduling is also an obvious big part of why I use this software, along with sending paperwork to clients. Customer service has been professional and attentive they also get back to me in a timely matter that has been a plus.
Cons: $94
