Overall it gets the core functions right; it's secure and reliable and proves to be excellent value for money - the free tier really helping to drive this point home; providing essential password management capability that doesn't hide essential functionality behind paid tiers. The interface does feel slightly dated though, and in this day and age where all apps are boasting crisp, polished GUIs, this is only exacerbated. it doesn't try to compete on additional features or fancy extras, but instead places more weight on steady and reliable function; as an IT professional this is a common tradeoff and one that I would happily choose over feature-bloated solutions that seem to cater to more markets, but provide less depth in doing so.
Pros: Bitwarden is a strong competitor for password management solutions. It's secure, syncs across multi platforms, and great value via free tier or paid. Most of the fundamental features can be accessed via their free tier; including syncing across devices, complex password generation, autofilling credentials and secure notes. Amongst its crowning features you can find MFA support, passkeys and credential breach/leak monitoring to ensure you keeping on top of any potential security threats - although this feature is usually only for paying customers. it's a versatile tool that can be used for more complex setups, such as balancing personal and professional profiles and 'shared vaults' for credential sharing. A great addition is the support for local hosting for any that worry about the reliability of online platforms, or simply want to have sovereignty over their own data. To this extent however, the software is open source, which is a great plus for transparency and user trust.
Cons: The interface can sometimes feel unpolished or less intuitive to those that are new to the software; comparing against some other paid solutions can feel like you are missing that 'premium' finish found in alternatives. The free tier is a great way to get started and removes barriers to entry, however this also means that some of the nicer 'bells and whistles' require a subscription. The focus on bitwarden seems to lean towards functionality over presentation, which is a great tradeoff - especially from a tech background - however can definitely be a deciding feature for more casual users when deciding on which solution to go with. It can definitely come across as minimalistic when compared to other solutions that offer buckets of additional features, snap-ins and add-ons; such as VPN clients or credential/breach monitoring.

It is great and exciting since it keeps the passwords organised and secure behind many layers of authentication and supports many types of passwords and secrets.
Pros: It is my most favourite password manager, and it has been amny ears sine I moved into using it and have not changed it yet, since it provides great service for the price it takes, and has a responsive and efficient customer support, while providing a seamless login and secret management tools and options, in a wide range of storage. It is secure by adding 2-FA earliest between all the password managers.
Cons: I like it a lot, but sometimes I make errors, and the network stability also matters for it so much; maybe this is a security measure, but it is annoying.

Superb product and the best password manager as of writing this review. It beats every competition in terms of features offered on free version.
Pros: This is my go to password management software with autofill for smoother login experience across multiple websites. Information is secure yet easy to access anywhere in multiple devices.
Cons: Mobile phone experience may be a bit weaker less support on feature such as autofill for website logins.

Pros: Super simple to setup and does everything you need from a password manager. We rolled it out in our organisation within a day or so
Cons: We are on the Enterprise plan so it's starting to get a little pricey as we grow in staff members but we do pay annually to reduce the cost.

It's easy to manage and. However, the sub-level delegation is limited somehow. Specially, when someone gets a new phone the MFA resetting is too complex.
Pros: The ability to save info under a personal section and global for everyone w/ access to manage. Saving data to password restricted access is very useful.
Cons: Not able to have an active site link other than putting it on the additional options Notes. There should be a section for setting a site's main page for logins.

We demoed Bitwarden at work to use for IT and eventually roll out to other departments. I love it for IT, we moved off of Keepass on to it. We were self-hosting the Keepass database and realized that if we had an infrastructure outage we would be missing all our passwords. The sales process was easy, setup was easy and didn't require interaction with support. When I have needed to reach out to support, they have been quick to respond and very helpful.
Pros: Customer support has been very good, decent amount of integrations. Getting a family plan to use at home was a plus for me, though not the selling point. Passkey support, ToTP code support(!), custom fields are easy to add, integration with Simple Login for creating throwaway usernames when signing up. They have an extension for Edge Mobile on Android!
Cons: The integration with Simple Login disappears and I have to set it back up. I eventually gave up on this piece. Sometimes it just refuses to work with certain sites and I have to copy/paste. On mobile, when the password field is only shown after entering username on a site, the app will be "helpful" and copy the ToTP code for that login to my clipboard but I have to overwrite my clipboard to get my password for the site THEN get the ToTP code, which is an annoyance. Extension for Edge Mobile on Android is always locked and tapping to unlock never works. You have to pull up the actual extension to unlock it. This may be Google/Microsoft's fault, I don't know, but still annoying. Collections are not the best for management. I still like a Folder structure rather than a Collection. If you create a new "folder" inside a collection you are actually creating a new Collection and need to assign rights to it again, it doesn't inherit.

I like it and I use it everyday and as an MSP we always pushing hard to our client to utilize the tool
Pros: We’re excited to share some of the advanced capabilities available in the Enterprise version. It offers a wide range of Single Sign-On (SSO) integration options, making it simple to connect with your preferred identity providers for seamless and secure access. In addition, you’ll enjoy enhanced security tools such as password and passphrase generation, ensuring strong credentials for your users. Another standout feature is the ability to securely share files up to 100 MB, providing a safe and convenient way to exchange sensitive information without compromising security. These features are designed to streamline workflows while maintaining the highest standards of protection for your organization.
Cons: There is nothing really that we don't like in Bitwarden. However we will like to have a feature where we can request a client to upload a data through a secure link.

Pros: Bitwarden is completely secure and has excellent technical support. It can be a bit complex at first, but once you get used to it, it works flawlessly and gives great peace of mind.
Cons: Bitwarden can be a bit complex to get started with, but once you get used to it, it works great and provides strong security with reliable support. It’s definitely worth the effort to learn.

Overall, Bitwarden has been fantastic. I've used a multitude of password managers in the past and Bitwarden is by far the easiest to use and manage.
Pros: It's easy to work, easy to manage, easy to do just about anything. A great product for me and for my customers. My customers really enjoy this product, as well.
Cons: My customers utilize EntraID groups and when trying to add/remove/edit users, there's no way for admins to sync Bitwarden with EntraID to make sure the users are removed/added/edited.
Josh T. · Customer Support Engineer · Information Technology and Services · October 24, 2025
Pros: Great support, and I've used it both personally and professionally! It has great generation, easy use, and it is great with password storage, which is exactly what I'd hope a platform like this would do! I'd recommend this over other password managers just for the support alone. The extension is great, and for the cost, it's wonderful!
Cons: I don't have anything that is particularly bad about Bitwarden, the only downside is the blacklisting of email addresses if they bounce. However, that isn't a bug, its a feature. We occasionally have some folks that don't set up users correctly, so that's on us.

My overall experience with Bitwarden has been excellent. It’s a very reliable and secure password management solution that gives me full confidence in how my data is protected. The application is intuitive and easy to use, making both everyday access and administration straightforward. Whether managing passwords personally or across a team, everything works smoothly and efficiently. Bitwarden combines strong security, great usability, and dependable performance — exactly what you need from a professional password manager.
Pros: What I liked most about Bitwarden is its outstanding customer support — every time I reached out, I received a helpful and friendly response within just six hours. That level of responsiveness is rare and greatly appreciated. Additionally, the password management system itself is excellent, especially for businesses. The value you get for the price is exceptional, and it’s genuinely enjoyable to work with as an administrator. Bitwarden’s intuitive interface and simplicity significantly improve daily operations, making password management easy and efficient for both administrators and employees across the organization.
Cons: What I liked least about Bitwarden is the lack of automatic login detection in the desktop application. It would be great if Bitwarden could automatically recognize and fill in credentials for local-only applications, not just web-based ones. Additionally, I’d appreciate more granular role management — for example, a role dedicated only to viewing or downloading invoices. Currently, you need the owner role to access billing information, which grants far more permissions than necessary for that purpose. Adding a more limited billing or finance role would improve security and make role-based access much more practical for organizations.

Pros: We are using it daily in our corporate environnement and he work like a charm, the password management is seamless. Passkey / Totp is a must have and help the user to login faster everywhere. We use to store some private information attached to some password too.
Cons: The UI is pretty good but it clearly can be improved. We have to use sometime too many click to perform a simple action.

So far so good. I think it’s a great password manager for the current size of our team (25 ppl). It’s getting the job done without over complicating
Pros: I’ve used Dashlane, LastPass, 1Password and it’s all about the same. I wanted something that was good for a small business without breaking the bank. The experience so far has been good and the customer support has been fast and efficient.
Cons: The UI looks a bit basic. I’m still trying to navigate around to find things like how to share a password.

Easy and safe to use, all of our users use it, even the less computer savy uses it daily. The support is exellent and quick the few times i had the need for support.
Pros: Easy to use, and you can use it on multiple clients and devices. I personaly use it on IOS/Androida and PC.
Cons: Sometimes the autofill function don't work on my android device. But then you can just go into the app and use the copy function.

Pros: Pretty good Password Manager which does it job as expected and the customer support team respond very quickly
Cons: The process to invite a new user confused me a bit when I first used it but once I understood it, it's quite straight forward
Bodi A. · Lead Infrastructure Engineer · Information Technology and Services · October 8, 2025
Excellent. I had some questions in the beginning and my Channel Manager gave me some great best practice recommendations; she even jumped on a call with me to review my questions. I also attended a few webinars. Support is very quick to respond to questions, friendly, professional, and knowledgeable.
Pros: New user of Bitwarden, but so far it has been pretty easy to roll out to our team and Support has been EXCELLENT! I also like that our company subscription allows users to setup Bitwarden Families. It's a nice additional company benefit that we can offer.
Cons: Not a con, but with our Vault we are using a lot of Custom Fields, and I would like the ability to make that a template so I don't have to create every field manually for every client. It was a bit of a heavy lift for me in the beginning to setup. I asked about a template for this and was told it has been added as a feature request. It's nice that they accept feedback.

Bitwarden outshines competitors with unmatched security, open-source transparency, and seamless device sync. It’s affordable, easy to use, and offers complete control over your data, making it the top choice for individuals and businesses alike.
Pros: Bitwarden stands out with its seamless cross-platform sync, letting you securely access and manage passwords anywhere, on any device.
Cons: Bitwarden has no downsides—secure, transparent, easy to use, and affordable. It’s simply flawless. No complaints.

I requested a W9 form from Bitwarden and received it immediately—super fast and efficient service! I’m never tired of saying it—keep up the great work and continue the same way!
Pros: Bitwarden is our new vendor. I got their W9 form instantly thanks to their fast customer service. Excellent!
Cons: My experience with Bitwarden was excellent—nothing negative to say at all so far. I’m definitely going to be a big fan!

Have had a great experience. Support is helpful when you need them. The articles online are helpful as well.
Pros: I like the security of having all passwords in one place. I like that it provides information on whether passwords are secure.
Cons: Resetting the account. I understand why it is difficult, having to keep it secure. But when something gets forgotten it is really difficult.
Krysti Z. · President · Construction · September 24, 2025
Bitwarden has been a very helpful tool to provision with the organization i'm a part of and I recommend it as the best free password manager, and would even recommend it if it was a monthly cost. The encryption of passwords is also a very nice thing to have in the sense of security.
Pros: The user UI is very intuitive, other than the specific actions of adding new fields. That function is very limited but its a lifesaver when you need it. The SCIM provisioning functionality is very nice to have when provisioning an entire org, and the guides/documentation to use as resources is very nice to have as an administrator for the org. Customer support has been very helpful in our endeavors from misprovisioning some users with them getting put onto a bounce list. The support specialist i worked with came up with an idea such that i wouldn't have to keep emailing and solved an issue that would've come up many more times. The granular controls provided Bitwarden to manage certain users is also a very enjoyable tool to have with all of the different kinds of functionalities provided.
Cons: With the misprovisioning came the issue of the emails getting put onto a bounce list. This has become a prevalent issue with our org and the way we make users, so I wish there was a self-sufficient way to remove said emails from a bounce list. This could be an isolated issue and not prevalent, though the functionality of an API enpoint to possibly do this automatically would give us the opportunity to keep the support team's eyes on more prevalent issues.

Overall my experience with Bitwarden has been very positive with all aspects. Very easy to save passwords for any website. It is a very user friendly platform and if you do have an issue you can reach out to the helpdesk and they will respond in a time efficient manner. Very easy for all users to learn and use.
Pros: The fact that whatever platform my customers use Bitwarden on it is very user friendly and easy to sync whether its the app or the browser extension.
Cons: If a user has autofill turned on prior to an update it will need to be turned on again after the update has been deployed. Another thing is when creating passwords for certain websites the auto update password feature will save the wrong password. Very few sites have this issue but it stumbles my customer when they have to change certain passwords.

Bitwarden has been great! I'm able to access all my passwords and company passwords quickly. No complaints!
Pros: I like Bitwarden for its ease of use and the security I feel when using it. It's nice to have my passwords stored and department passwords stored for login and identity verification. I've only used customer support 1 time and they were very quick to resolve my issue. With so many service accounts it's nice to have a great user management tool to organize them.
Cons: I don't really have anything bad to say about Bitwarden. Sometimes the update box stops me from entering my password when I need to get to it quickly. Thats the only thing I can think of.
Matthew D. · Systems Engineer · Information Technology and Services · September 2, 2025
It's been great. I would recommend it to other folks in IT. It's sometimes difficult to say that you believe in a service these days but, I do have some faith invested in Bitwarden.
Pros: It's secure. Honestly, that's what I am really looking for in a password manager. I want to know that my passwords aren't stored somewhere that is easily accessible to those looking to steal my information.
Cons: There's not really anything that I don't like. It's organized and does a good job of allowing me to search for passwords that I may not have known what folder I put them in.
