Extremely positive - I highly recommend this system to other not-for-profit execs who struggle to find the time to fully engage in a risk approach to their work. GOAT makes your life easier, and it will be well received by everyone in your organisation, especially your Board.
Pros: GOAT is very easy to use - I set it up myself within a day. It has the functions I need, and I am not paying for functions I don't need. The GOAT team support for me directly and through regular updates and subscriber meetings. The system is growing and improving all the time. My Board love the reports. It has made my risk management so much more efficient.
Cons: I don't have any cons right now - it does what I want, and I could not be more satisfied. As a bit of a beginner, there may be things I want, but the team have been more than willing to my needs and finding ways to meet them.

its been pleasure to work with GOAT in all interactions from initial enquiries through purchase and implementation to feature requests and the monthly webinars with other GOAT customers.
Pros: The intuitive nature of the system itself, the almost instant implementation and great in built tools for users to learn. This coupled with the responsiveness of the GOAT team for any issue and the way features and improvements can be suggested and discussed, means it feels like they are a partner in the Risk Management team rather than just another software vendor. The fact that they manage to deliver this level of service for such great price really is a testament to the organisation.

Cons: Very little as the constant improvements seem to resolve most issues. For example risk review dates were a bit clunky but GOAT took on feedback from clients and redesigned this to give much more granular control.

Positive. The product is simple and has a great pricing structure which helps a small organisation like ours. Transition and implementation from our old risk system was really easy. The staff at GOAT are always helpful and friendly, and they respond to queries really quickly. We couldn't be happier with our choice.
Pros: It is so simple. Huge plus for us. Its a 'pick up and go' product that needed very little training. Reporting is quick and easy, which was a chore with out previous system. We are very happy as an organisation.
Cons: Nothing major really. Some tweaks such as a click to a square rather than a drag on the matrix could be useful? General functionality is great though.

Very happy with the product and support provided by the GOAT team. Feedback received from users/risk owners has been overwhelmingly positive.
Pros: Very intuitive and accessible system for users with a high level of customisation allowing specific organisational requirements to be met. Excellent and personalised customer support is on hand whenever required.
Cons: Standard reporting formats from the system can feel slightly cumbersome at times, however functionality to export to Excel allows for bespoke reporting.

Overall, as a new user of GOAT, I have been happy with the decision to choose this product ahead of others who are perhaps better known and more established. The team at GOAT are continuing to evolve the product based on client feedback so it's good to know the system is built on user experience.
Pros: Simple to set up and easy to use. The system is also much better value for money when compared against other systems and the team at GOAT provide helpful advice on how to maximise use of the system.
Cons: The review function is being improved and that will help clients determine their own review frequency rather than having this pre-determined by GOAT.

Great experience all round with a really straightforward way to get a risk management system up and running with excellent visibility of our risk universe. Much simpler than other overcomplicated systems we considered.
Pros: Very flexible solution that can operate as a standalone risk management system without requiring integrations to other systems. Excellent customer support throughout and great value for money.
Cons: Because there are lots of areas you can customise, sometimes it's difficult to remember where all the different settings can be configured. But customer support are very quick to advise so this doesn't matter too much.

the overall experience is positive, with me highlighting excellent customer support and a positive impact on my organization's risk culture.
Pros: Because its Ease of Use, Intuitive Design, Visual Outputs and Reports and Fast Onboarding and Excellent Support.
Cons: Its Limited Customization, Navigation Issues, Visibility Limitations, Feature Set and Inability to Delete Templates.

Excellent, Danny and the team have been very responsive to our needs and the GOAT Risk has been very well received by all here
Pros: Ease of use, very intuitive, overall look and feel. users have found it easy to use and can immediately see the benefits that it will bring
Cons: Nothing yet, has met all our requirements to date and we look forward to suing it in anger across the organisation.
Justin M. · Head of Risk and Internal Audit · Utilities · July 1, 2025
Pros: What caught my attention was how GOAT Risk facilitated risk management to be owned by different departments. I was able to provide clearer responsibilities, understand the risk status in context and perform regular assessments minus the files’ pursuit.
Cons: When it came to scheduling risk reviews, there was a problem of flexibility of calendar rules. This created a challenge of automating quarterly reviews that are usually not done at month ends, causing me to continuously check review dates more than planned.

GOAT is a must have for everyone steering a (regulated) firm through the current challenging times - with an constant changing regulatory compliance and AML regulations landscape - GOAT helps you to stay on top of all your risks - implement mitigating factors - and support your business to thrive and make use of all the growth opportunities out there.
Pros: GOAT risk helped us (within an EMI regulated environment) to bring our Business wide Risk assessment to the next level. It helped us to work on a consistent basis, and focus on the right risk items - and risk mitigating factors.
Cons: Noting - the tooling works great for us, no comments.
Joris G. · Head of Compliance and MLRO · Financial Services · January 24, 2025
It is easy and intuitive to use and non risk folks can use it too! I have been recommending to my clients and network.
Pros: Simple, effective what it does, and well priced.
Cons: I think GOAT risk is very well suited for what is does and its market positioning.
Julien H. · Chief Risk and Compliance Officer · Financial Services · December 20, 2024
Fit for purpose but needs AI to remain relevent in 2025
Pros: Easy of use, interactive and an exceptional GUI. Quality Product.
Cons: Would like the analysis to be displayed in a BowTie format. Needs AI integration
Adam R. · Group Head of Risk and Internal Audit · Mechanical or Industrial Engineering · December 20, 2024
Pros: It has simplified the risk management process. We also like the clean look and feel of GOAT risk.
Cons: It is still very manual to add information. There are not enough templates we can implement if we are not a risk specialist.
Stefan v. · Chief Financial Officer · Mining & Metals · September 30, 2024
As a small company with a diverse, extensive and complex range of risks, we were looking for a flexible, adaptable solution to help us document, manage and report on risk. The GOAT system more than meets our needs, at the same time providing exceptional value for money.
Pros: Whilst GOAT is set up with a standard configuration, the flexibility to revise and adapt the system to meet your own specific needs is a major plus!
Cons: My only minor criticism of the system relates to the reporting module which does not have the facility to output into Word or Powerpoint; in my eyes this would be beneficial.
colin w. · Internal Auditor and Risk Consultant · Import and Export · July 26, 2024
Pros: The Software GOAT Risk Management offers an attractive user environment. The integrated risk assessment and selection of control measures work excellently. Additionally, the control matrix functionality provides a clear overview of the implemented control measures. In summary, it’s a valuable tool for effective risk management!
Cons: While GOAT Risk offers an easy-to-use platform for risk management, there are some limitations in its reporting capabilities. Improving the reporting functionality could enhance the overall user experience and provide even better insights for decision-makers.
Chiel v. · Information Security Manager · Semiconductors · July 8, 2024
Very good experience and very please with the platform. All of our senior management have been very complimentary of this product and are very surprised at the low cost.
Pros: Very easy to use, setup and understand. Very, very low cost. Has a sleek look with a simple drag and drop heatmap. Includes tutorials and tips for users and has great customer service too.
Cons: Does not include some of the advanced cyber protections and cyber integrations we would like. The report functions could be improved (formatting and layout wise).
John Y. · Senior Counsel · Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing · June 14, 2024
Very knowledgeable people, super easy to work with Goat employees, quite easy to share "wishes".
Pros: value for money. Very easy going company. Easy to setup (does take only a few hours)
Cons: It is almost to easy to do business with them when you are part of a multinational and you have stakeholders like a legal and IT department.
bert f. · VP Corporate Risk · Dairy · April 26, 2024
Very positive overall. The customer support function and abilities are superb. Calls are answered within hours.
Pros: The setup was painless and the ease of use in general is very good.
Cons: None comes to mind. It was however slightly difficult at the outset to draw reports and to customize reports.
Marius J. · Manager Health and Safety · Mining & Metals · April 25, 2024
Pros: We are a mid-sized personal lending company and GOAT Risk is perfect for our needs. We need a platform to regularly assess, manage and monitor our Enterprise Risks and Incidents and GOAT is exactly the solution we were after. GOAT is industry-agnostic and could be utilised by a number of companies - I would highly recommend, especially if you do not require a fully integrated ERM/GRC system.
Cons: Certainly not a con, although the navigation of reporting is not quite as agile as I would like, however this is a very minor drawback.
Kane J. · Head of Risk and Compliance · Financial Services · April 24, 2024
Pros: The GOAT Team are continuously improving he product based on feedback
Cons: Formatting issues with text input sometimes impacts reporting tools
Dougie A. · Head of Risk · Information Technology and Services · April 4, 2024
[sensitive content hidden] from GOAT are approachable, helpful and knowledgeable about the system and risk itself. They have regularly reached out to offer assistance. Embedding GOAT is taking time but the base framework fits with our business and is working well.
Pros: The dashboard, functionality, and the reports.
Cons: Would suggest more tips/examples around KPIs and the ability to attach documents.
Jenny K. · Risk Officer · Financial Services · March 6, 2024
GOAT has been really useful for us and the level of support from [sensitive content hidden] and the team has been nothing short of outstanding!
Pros: The ability to simplify risk management, allocate to users and move away from spreadsheets!
Cons: Some admin work can be 'clunky' but [sensitive content hidden] and the team have been incredibly responsive in taking on feedback and developing solutions!
Ben C. · CEO · Non-Profit Organization Management · December 27, 2023
Very Good communication and support team in place
Pros: Easy to use, implement and roll out to business
Cons: In the early stages of usage however none at present
Neville T. · Manager Credit and Risk · Financial Services · December 22, 2023
Pretty good with some niggles, although recognise that you get what you pay for!
Pros: Mostly intuitive and user friendly. Lets us choose who to give access to which risks. Range of reports.
Cons: You can't customise the reports to deliver what we need for our committees. For example, would be good to have a report which ranks the risks based on the gap between the net and the target risks. There are a few features that are not intuitive - for example, to save a report to your computer, you need to click on 'print' and to replace a user with a different user who is going to take on all of their risks, it is hard to find.
Rosalind A. · Head of Governance · Higher Education · December 21, 2023
So far it is meeting our needs. We haven't fully explored the system yet. We are still working through the best way to utilise our subscription of 5 users and 1 profile.
Pros: Customisation Seems simple to use Quite intuitive
Cons: You don't know what you don't know, so if you're unfamiliar with Risk Management, it can be time consuming as you test the platform out. Creating appropriate KRI can be challenging. There's not a lot of depth to the tutorials. Being in the southern hemisphere, I'm reliant on the tutorials to provide quick answers. No archive system for eliminated or obsolete risks. The response to create another profile for archiving means an escalation in cost from $600 to $1800 per annum.
