Traction Ag

Pros: it is a good record keeping product. I like Traction Business - it is has the Plaid connection to my bank - which makes checking transactions and reconcilation easy. I also like the integration with my Growmark account. Traction Business is a very useful product for the farm accounting, record keeping and bill paying.

Cons: I don't have any complaints. This kind of high level accounting and record keeping does take a time commitment.

Pros: It saves me a lot of time and allows me to manage my farm instead of taking up precious time dealing with the ins and outs of accounting.

Cons: I think that some parts of it, such as its Field Ops section could use an update and improvements on user friendliness.

Pros: I like that you can access multiple entities with one log in and that you can access it and get up to date information from anywhere. Also being able to scan in and store copies of anything you want to attach to a transaction for future reference is great and saves on filing storage.

Cons: There are some reports that do need a little more work on what information they compile when there are multiple entities but the information does not always need to be added together.

Pros: I love how Traction Ag is accessible online, allowing me to use it anywhere, anytime. It’s incredibly simple and straightforward for handling accounting tasks and keeping the books organized. I also appreciate the ease of managing multiple entities, as I can quickly choose the specific information I need on a report. When reconciling my ledger, I can synchronize all my systems with the bank with a single click, or select which ones to update individually. It's intuitive, efficient, and easy to work with.

Cons: It does take some time setting up each entity and the chart of accounts for each, but the same could be said with probably any accounting program. Their support team has been great getting my questions answered.

Pros: Customer service is top notch. Every update makes it better as they are taking inputs and putting them into the updates. Multiple entity capable.

Cons: New company that was unknown, those were easily set aside once learned what’s good product it was

Pros: I really like how Traction provides the tools necessary to capture field profitability. I can also easily look at my income and expense, and after reconciling my accounts from month to month, I am able to see my income expenses, catagorized into agriculture specific catagories.

Cons: The only issue I have with traction is finding the time to import all of my field records into the basic operations.

Pros: Traction works at my own very small (<500 acres) scale. It allows me to make good decisions throughout the year. I also work in Ag Lending, and I wish that all borrowers could provide detailed reports like Traction generates. The opportunity to trial the software was beneficial - I was more confident making a selection.

Cons: No cons to mention, but I would point out that my small operation does not use all of the capabilities of Traction.

Pros: I can see field by field profit and write a check with just a few clicks.

Cons: Adding field records would be better if I could apply to multiple fields at the same time but input a specific amount of acres for each field that was partially covered.

Pros: I like the ease of use; it's easy to drill down and see the detail when you need to. Also like the crop year based accounting so I really know how that crop year performed; this is way more informative than a calendar year system. Also like that its cloud based; you are not tied to one computer and you are able to open multiple tabs.

Cons: It's a young software that does the basic blocking and tackling very well, and even though they don't have every feature today, they are listening well and building new features continuously.

Pros: Data integrations are the best feature - with the bank, but also to automatically gather field activity data.

Cons: Traction is in early stages and there are several accounting and management features that they will be adding over the next several months and years.

Pros: The fact that they are working toward what the old farmworks software did but making it easier to get the information the old farmworks software provides

Cons: As with software this new there are alot of features that need to be addressed yet and they are working toward them it just takes time

Pros: I really like the ability to quickly enter income and expense items with full data to reflect proper inventory and financial management. Also the ability to link in to our bank accounts and upload invoices and crop settlements, which can easily be revisited and printed at later dates. Revisiting the detailed invoices on equipment repairs comes in very handy in verifying parts installed on equipment.

Cons: Traction is working on taking data to the machinery management level that I desire to have, such as filters, parts inventories linked to equipment models that we own. Also maintain equipment records, hopefully can tie into equipment manufacture's maintenance record templates at some point. Then all my records would be in one location.

Pros: It is web based and integrates with JD oops center and automatically does payroll

Cons: It is still young and missing some functionally that I would like.

Pros: Farming software has always been segregated. Some dealt with financial data, and some dealt with field records. And for the most part, we were left on our own for accounting to use generic business software. But Traction aims to finally be the missing link between all these areas. It has an awesome accounting package, mixed with very capable field records, and a polished, completely online package. Also, they are continuously rolling out new features.

Cons: Like any new software, even my own spreadsheets, there is a learning curve to adjust to the thought process behind many tasks. Fortunately, Traction provides fantastic support, whether by a live person, or videos, to guide me through the learning process.

Pros: It is easy to set up and easy to use. The software has a good basis for accounting and draws in the field operations and inventory use. The customer support is great.

Cons: A work in progress but worth waiting for each aspect that is coming out every couple of months.

Pros: Ease of use and ability to link to financial accounts for auto transaction import

Cons: Wish there was a feature to create rules to auto categorize transactions based in store or who was paid

Pros: I like the ability to integrate multiple entities in one software product with one subscription. Also the ability to link bank accounts and credit cards for downloading transactions saves time. The ability to allocate income and expenses to track profitability is very important.

Cons: Missing some advanced features on the accounting, such as accrual financial statements, market value balance sheet, accounts payable/receivable functionality.

Pros: I am a huge fan of being able to easily access financial reports and adjust entries as needed. I am excited to see that they are constantly upgrading and learning what customers need in an ag management software.

Cons: I would love to see more field options such as writing variable rate prescriptions from harvest data.

Pros: easy program to navigate after you get everything set up

Cons: still learning the program but could be helpful to include more livestock options

Pros: Cross tracking with accounting and inventory management

Cons: I don’t use payroll so that feature is not necessary for me

Pros: Generates accurate accounting information useful for making farm management decisions - and easy to use!

Cons: I'm looking forward to more features being added to help make farm management decisions.

Pros: I like the fact that it is online and accessible from anywhere.

Cons: So far I've been pleased. They are still adding things so that makes me happy.

Pros: The Accounting is my favorite. It is easy to use. Just clicking on the transaction to make a change to it or delete it works wonderful. Bringing up a previous transaction is also a plus to not have to reenter all the info, only change the check no, date and dollar amt. Reconciliation is also easy to use. Also use the Farm Ops to record field records. Works well to track what was done on each field such as what was sprayed, what seed was planted on which fields, or tillage that was done and harvest info.

Cons: I haven't found a least favorite yet as I have only been a user since January of 2022.
