Paycom helps SMBs manage payroll, HR, and time tracking in one platform, with strong adoption in healthcare, nonprofit, and automotive sectors. Its standout benefit is employee-managed payroll, supported by features such as mobile access and direct deposit. Users cite reporting limitations and login friction as drawbacks. The new IWant AI engine adds voice-driven data access for faster decisions.

I truly value Paycom and its ability to scale alongside our organization. The platform has proven to be flexible and adaptable, allowing us to support our evolving workforce needs while maintaining efficiency and consistency across our processes.
Pros: I value the ability to speak with a live person and receive real-time support. Having direct access to knowledgeable representatives helps resolve issues quickly and ensures we can keep processes moving without delays.
Cons: The Talent portion of the system is not very user-friendly and can be difficult to navigate. Certain workflows and features feel unintuitive, which can create inefficiencies and require additional time for both employees and administrators to complete tasks.

It has been very positive, and we have felt supported every step of the way by our representatives. New features are rolling out regularly, and iWant has been a huge bonus and time saver.
Pros: The customer service from set up, to daily maintenance and the local support team are all phenomenal. We've worked with a lot of HR Management teams over the years, and Paycom's team stands out among them all! The relationship doesn't feel transactional.
Cons: The system is quote robust for our small business, so it can be overwhelming at times. The team is always a phone call or email away, so that has helped with the transition and utilization.

It has been highly improved since we switched to Paycom in 2020. They are always updating and improving each function provided. Payroll has come a long way, and I like that we have one dedicated specialist. It was a lot more difficult to deal with different people every time we called in, this was a very smart decision.
Pros: Paycom assigns a specialist to help you through any issues or concerns, and they typically respond the same day, often within the hour. It is a one-stop shop for all your business needs, including benefits, payroll, financial reporting, and all HR related functions.
Cons: While I know some webinars summarize Paycom updates, it would be nice if there were more detailed videos for each change. Something that not only describes the change but also explains how it will affect different functions going forward.

Great! It's wonderful having payroll and HRIS as one human resources system. Very cost effective and easy to use.
Pros: Customer Support, ESS, Time Tracking, Single System, LMS, ease of payroll processing and customizable reporting.
Cons: On occasion Paycom makes changes behind the scenes and we don't get clear notice of these changes/updates, if we get a notice at all.
Julie D. · Human Resources Manager · Machinery · May 14, 2026
We have been having a ton of issues with Paycom since we started. There has been things that relate to a little bit of everything whether it is benefits, taxes, payroll, etc
Pros: I like the idea of how user friendly it is. It is much easier processing payroll in comparison to ADP.
Cons: We have been having a ton of issues with Paycom since we started. There has been things that relate to a little bit of everything whether it is benefits, taxes, payroll, etc.
Katelyn M. · HR Generalist · Human Resources · May 14, 2026
Overall, my experience with Paycom has been very positive. The software is user-friendly, easy to navigate, and continues to improve with helpful features like IWant. Their customer service team is excellent and always quick to provide answers and support when needed. I also really value the relationship aspect of their service. Their traveling field agent visits us about every quarter to provide trainings, check in with our team, and discuss ways we can continue improving our processes. That level of support and communication has made working with Paycom a great experience overall.
Pros: What I like most about Paycom is how user-friendly the software is. It’s very easy to navigate and find what you need. The new IWant feature has also been very helpful because employees can ask their own questions instead of always coming to me as the payroll admin. I also really appreciate their customer service team. They always respond quickly and are very helpful whenever I have questions.
Cons: One thing I like least about Paycom is that some features can take time to learn when they are first introduced or updated. However, they do a great job providing training sessions and resources for new features, which makes the transition much easier and helps users get comfortable quickly.
Kyle R. · Assistant Controller · Hospitality · May 14, 2026
Very good. We have utilized more modules within the last year and learned so much. Many of the modules have really made things run more efficiently.
Pros: Easy navigation for managers and employees. Training is offered to managers if needed. Customer support is a live person that answers.
Cons: Sometimes not notified if an update has happened and it changes things for us on our screen or procedure.
Raquel C. · Payroll Manager · Non-Profit Organization Management · May 14, 2026
Overall, my experience with Paycom has been positive. The system helps streamline payroll and HR processes while improving accuracy and efficiency. It is a reliable platform for managing employee data, time tracking, and compliance tasks in one centralized system.
Pros: Paycom offers an easy-to-use platform that keeps payroll, benefits, and employee information all in one place. The self-service tools are helpful for employees and managers, and the reporting features make HR tasks more efficient and organized.
Cons: Some reports and workflows can take time to learn, especially for new users. Customer support response times can occasionally be slower during peak periods, and certain customizations are limited.
Will R. · HR · Packaging and Containers · May 14, 2026
The customer service has scaled up since my first encounter with Paycom and there are constant updates. They are working hard to meet the demands of clients and the everchanging HR landscape.
Pros: The ability to have all actions for the life cycle of an employee housed in one system is paramount. Most items link up quite well and allow managers, employees and HR to see what is important to them. Very few bugs or issues to be found.
Cons: There are some items that the client can't build or see which can be frustrating but having a good specialist on your team can minimize that frustration.
Kimberly E. · Sr HR Manager · Law Enforcement · May 14, 2026
I feel heard and treated with respect. Development recommendations are genuinely considered. They check in periodically to make sure you are getting your full value from the system and review best practices.
Pros: Everytime you turn around, Paycom is developing something new. Innovation is their middle name! And could we please give our client rep, [sensitive content hidden], a round of applause?! She is like a dog with a bone and chews on an issue until there is nothing left to chew on.
Cons: Some things don’t integrate. For instance, in payroll, there are 3-4 fields indicating whether an EE is hourly or salary.
Kris L. · Director of Human Resources · Retail · May 14, 2026
I have had great experience with Paycom. They were super helpful during conversion (which we did mid-year).
Pros: My account rep is helpful. He's able to answer all my questions and help whenever needed. Easy to create needed reports.
Cons: The fact that each module costs extra money. The features we have work well and I am able to get everything I need completed.
Lynn S. · HR and Payroll Manager · Furniture · May 14, 2026
In the 3 years that I have used Paycom, the overall experience with Paycom has been great! Our Store Managers feel the same too.
Pros: Customer support and ease of use. Everyone has been helpful, patient and they take the time to truly understand the issues that we might have and walk us thru the solutions.
Cons: As a small business, we would like easier access to information showing all payroll related fees per client code. This would make it easier to determine payroll percentages per client code monthly, quarterly and yearly.
Susan Y. · Human Resources · Retail · May 14, 2026
The five years experience utilizing the Paycom system has been great, as the system has made great changes in five years with AI I want, myCom, and increased training topics.
Pros: Paycom built their system from the bottom up which runs smoothly, they did not purchase modules to add to their system which ends up having many disconnect for the customers according to the 20 years of experience with payroll HRIS systems.
Cons: Paycom is adding new features which is great, but the clients should have access to certain processes to understand it better as the company's subject matter expert (SME) using Paycom it would be helpful when they have an issue or correction.
Roxanne U. · Human Resources · Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing · May 14, 2026
I love working with Paycom and would recommend to anyone looking for a new platform. I have been a customer for 11 years and wouldn’t choose another service provider.
Pros: I have used many other payroll platforms and Paycom’s customer service is top notch! They are always available when I need them and are experienced enough to solve my issues quickly.
Cons: Building the performance reviews require multiple layers to get to the final product. If you have a complicated review, that are different for each position, the platform is not user friendly.
Tabitha P. · Director of People and Culture · Construction · May 14, 2026
Paycom is great if you have the time, skillset, and manpower to customize and change things as they go. If you are in a situation where you don't have someone who can manage the set up, adjustments, and data auditing, it may not be the best system for you.
Pros: I like that Paycom is customizable and can be set up and adjusted at the client level for most changes. A lot of changes I've needed with other HRIS systems can be done and the step by step instructions in the help center are updated and actually useful. I enjoy the reporting and analytics as well.
Cons: Many of the customizations require changing items in multiple locations to work. Some things are clunky or titled in a way that is different than other HRIS systems so finding, locating, and understanding on your own can be quite difficult. Changes are multi-steps and sometimes require you change things in unrelated areas to work. I use the ATS daily. My number one request would be to have the option to decline an entire candidate instead of having to go through each individual application for a person you know you won't or can't consider for those positions - say previous employees, failed background checks, or lack of credentials like HS diploma or GED. I understand why, but applicants, especially those that apply via a sponsored ad on Indeed or other sites, not only cost us time, but also money and aren't even able to be considered. Getting to spend more time on good or possible candidates would make a huge difference in the time and dollars we spend.

My overall experience with Paycom was positive and professionally rewarding. I gained valuable experience working in a fast-paced environment and strengthened my knowledge of payroll processes, compliance, reporting, and employee support. I appreciated the company’s focus on efficiency, technology, and accountability, and I enjoyed working with tools that streamlined payroll and HR functions.
Pros: What I liked most about Paycom was the opportunity to grow professionally in a fast-paced environment while working with an all-in-one payroll and HR platform. I appreciated the efficiency of the system, the automation tools, and the ability to develop strong payroll, compliance, and customer service skills.
Cons: Lack of information surrounding payroll taxes, processing, tax credits and how they flow to the cash requirements with no detail at all.
Miranda Z. · Payroll · Construction · May 13, 2026
Great tool for recruiting as it also works hand in hand with other platforms that we use as well. Paycom also has multiple features that have helped simplify recruiting as well.
Pros: Paycom is easy to navigate but most importantly the support is always there even if I have the smallest question.
Cons: They have a few tasks that I wish we can complete in one motion when it comes to recruiting but like anything else it will hopefully come in due time
Christopher M. · Corporate Recruiter · Hospitality · May 8, 2026
Paycom has made my life as an HR manager so much easier. Payroll only takes moments now instead of hours. Nearly anything I want to accomplish in my position can be done in one place now! It's also allowed me to delegate tasks back to our supervisors, as they can access everything they need on their end as well through the app.
Pros: Everything on Paycom is quick and easy to do. Since the program uses one code for everything, it's very streamline and intuitive. I've tried other payroll providers in the past that were difficult to navigate and each task involved opening multiple windows. We were able to replace several programs with only Paycom. The app is a great resource, and our managers can use it on the fly in the field. They also have amazing customer service, when I do need help they respond right away, and offer advice and guidance on how to use the tools.
Cons: There's honestly very little I don't like, but one that that was tricky is it's VERY customizable. There are features that I was slower to use because there was a bit of work up front to make them do what I wanted. Once you put the time in to set it up though, it save so much time in the long run having your processes automated.
Amy S. · Teammate Resources Director · Retail · May 8, 2026
We have loved the support and training offered. We have seen a decrease in time spent on tasks and a huge increase in compliance with documentation.
Pros: I have been so impressed with the customer support. A designated specialist who is a part of a team who knows our company and always responds. They are quick to resolve issues we experience and always update the system to be easy to use.
Cons: The system is constantly updating - which while great - can be difficult to keep up with the new changes and features.
Elizabeth B. · HR Generalist · Legal Services · May 8, 2026
We have a partnership with Paycom which provides for an outstanding experience with them. They have worked to understand our business operations to provide the support we need.
Pros: The ability to accurately capture time and attendance, inclusive of labor distribution for both office and field employees.
Cons: The fact that some information is reported on Central time instead of the employer's time zone can get confusing.
Dina W. · Director · Construction · May 8, 2026
From my point of view as an HR professional at a mortgage company, using Paycom has been a positive experience overall. The platform helps simplify many day-to-day HR tasks by keeping payroll, onboarding, time tracking, benefits, and employee records all in one place. It has improved efficiency within our HR processes and reduced the amount of manual work involved in payroll and employee management. The employee self-service features are especially helpful because employees can easily access their pay information, submit PTO requests, and update personal details on their own. At the same time, there can be a learning curve when navigating some of the more advanced features, and certain reporting or customization functions can take time to fully understand. However, once implemented, the system provides strong organization, better visibility into workforce data, and helps support compliance in a fast-paced mortgage industry environment.
Pros: As an HR team at a mortgage company, using Paycom provides significant advantages in managing a fast-paced and highly regulated workforce. Its all-in-one platform streamlines payroll, onboarding, time tracking, benefits administration, and compliance management, helping HR professionals reduce manual tasks and improve accuracy. For mortgage companies specifically, Paycom’s automation and reporting tools can support compliance with industry regulations while giving employees easy access to self-service features for pay, PTO, and benefits. The platform also enhances efficiency by centralizing employee data in one secure system, allowing HR teams to focus more on employee engagement, recruitment, and organizational growth rather than administrative processes.
Cons: The platform can feel complex and overwhelming, particularly during implementation however this is a good thing because of the Varity of things the system has to offer
Hailey M. · Hr Generalist · Wholesale · May 8, 2026
Pros: I like how simple it is to send out payments and to be able to redeem your money. Quick access is always a plus
Cons: I don't have any complaints as of right now.I am new to this system , but so far , I do like how it runs
Tomia R. · Sr help desk analyst · Executive Office · May 7, 2026
Overall, a reliable and efficient HRIS that streamlines payroll and HR processes, though there is room for improvement in support and flexibility.
Pros: User-friendly platform with strong payroll accuracy, employee self-service features, and efficient onboarding tools.
Cons: Customer support response at times can be inconsistent, and some reporting/customization features are limited.
Anonymous User · HR Coordinator · Education Management · May 1, 2026
Overall I have been impressed and very glad that we decided to make the change. It also saved money.
Pros: Moving to Paycom was a huge money saver for us. Paycom is very easy to use and our staff love it...
Cons: Moving from the transition team was hard as it was not clear to us who we were to reach out to for different tasks.
Julie T. · Vice President of Human Resources · Civic & Social Organization · April 30, 2026
The overall experience with Paycom is great my team and how we collaboration in Paycom gives us the ease of use because we know we can count on each other
Pros: I love the support Paycom gives. The value for the money is great its only $14 dollars for each person and the accounting and expense management is good to use as well.
Cons: In timecard search you have to refresh it several times to get the total hours and do it each time. I think Paycom is great for small business management.
