Quo is solid for straightforward call management, but it falls short for teams using multiple tools or needing robust onboarding capabilities. If you're integrated with platforms like Jobber or need live-call monitoring for training, this tool will feel limiting.
Pros: Quo handles call management reliably. The in-app mention and comment/threading features are excellent for internal collaboration—our team uses these constantly to flag issues and discuss customer interactions.
Cons: The lack of API/webhook support is a significant limitation. We use Jobber for field operations, and there's no clean way to create tasks or assign conversations to team members across both platforms. We have to manually coordinate, which adds friction. Additionally, Quo doesn't support live-call listening, which is a major gap for us, training new CSRs on real calls is critical, and we can't do that effectively with Quo.

Negative - inability to use the service, poor support on canceling and getting a refund, got a second charge the following month instead, and had to escalate to BBB to get my account closed.
Pros: The promise of being able to manage business calls and texts with more than one employee under one account / number.
Cons: The service didn't work for me at all in the end. I wasn't able to send messages to any clients or even respond to messages I received until my number was fully processed through with US carriers. This is a critical onboarding step that is not as easy as suggested.

We will be using quo for as long as our business is open, we have enjoyed the whole process of it and like it being straight to our personal phones since we are a small, family owned business
Pros: I like how it is on my personal phone so I do not have to have two phones, and it is very easy to use. We have had no issues
Cons: I have not had any issues with quo to where there would be something that I do not like about it. It has been great

Seamless setup makes it easy to get up and running, the API was tricky to program to, took a lot of trial and error, and it is also not pure JSON, so the variable typing was a pain, took lots of debugging cycles to finally get it right. Support to my surprise did escalate to engineering to fix some critical API bugs, that was a pleasant surprise since most support depts completely fail when it comes to bug reports from customers.
Pros: Feature rich, does everything we need, has an API, allows us to have multiple lines. We were able to customize the phone lines and get contact data for our business pushed into OpenPhone so we knew which customer is calling or texting us and what their customer profile was.
Cons: The Webhook API is very limited and doesn't give us access to messages. The contact API is still pretty rough and has issues. AI responder is overpriced, no API to use our own AI token based API. Contact UI doesn't provide the ability to insert links, for example being able to link to a customer's CRM info in another system.

Overall, good so far. New to the software, but it has been useful so far and we continue le to learn how to best utilize it.
Pros: Smart and makes collaboration as a team easy and streamlined. Did everything we were looking for and more.
Cons: Does not integrate well with Jobber yet, wish there was a better getting started guide to learn about all the features

I have been very happy with OpenPhone overall. It has provided the customization features my business needs without extras that were outside of the budget as a new startup.
Pros: Easy to use, has a great feature set for the price point. It has been incredibly valuable in setting up a professional business phone service for a very small business.
Cons: Occasional connectivity issues, I am not really sure what the cause is and it has been infrequent enough that I haven't looked deeply into the problem. There isn't great personalized customer service, however it is user-friendly and they have excellent online resources so I haven't missed it.

Pros: The flexible platform allows me to use the service on my desktop or my phone, allowing me to take these phone calls to our business line where ever I might be. Currently, Openphone allows me to SMS clients in Canada. Google Voice, which was the main alternative does not have this feature.
Cons: They charge for each user and add a new line for each user even if all you need is to have multiple users managing one line.

If you want a reliable long term platform, this isn't the one. They will shut you down in a heartbeat based on speculation. Customer service/retention means nothing to this company at all. I set it up for business use to contact and follow up with my customers however, that only lasted less than 2 days. Don't be fooled by the price, you pay for what you get. I wouldn't recommend this platform to my worst enemy...IT ABSOLUTELY SUCKS!!!!
Pros: The price is what attracted me. The ease of sending messages was good while it worked.
Cons: Customer service is non existent as well.
SHAWN C. · FINANCE MANAGER · Financial Services · October 26, 2024
It simplifies the issue with phone lines and virtual coverage. Makes life easier.
Pros: It works very well and can be configured in many different ways. This software also records the call and sends text messages. You can setup a time when you want the system to start so you can be covered when unable to get to the phone.
Cons: Some areas takes some research to get right.

Worst onboarding and support experience ever! If you expect to just sign up and immediately get going - forget about it... I've been trying to speak with someone on OpenPhone who can get our account approved asap for outbound messages. We've applied twice and failed and cannot get any concrete information as for why. They have no phone number where I can reach support, nor do they have a human chat and I'm very disappointed as a customer.
Pros: Initially looked very promising but... not all that glitters is gold
Cons: Unable to use the outbound messaging to to lack of support availability - wasted tons of time trying to reach them and getting help

Great app to call to the US from abroad, noise is crisp and clear and would definitely recommend for business use!
Pros: I work remote in a different country to my client, which is where I need to make most calls. Connection is great and I’m able to hear the other person on the line very clear.
Cons: Maybe more discount packages if you’re a long term user
Stephanie R. · Executive Operations Assistant · Information Technology and Services · February 3, 2024
Pros: The idea of not having a handheld phone and answering calls from home.
Cons: Runs on internet so if your internet goes down, you can’t receive or make calls. Also, some employees would rather have a handheld phone but it’s not an option. Only a headset.
Lindsay K. · Office manager · Alternative Medicine · January 13, 2024
Great potential, awful customer support and product doesn't deliver.
Pros: They have all the right features, in a decent UI
Cons: Core features don't work. They have a bug in their call routing that kept calls from coming to my team until I figured out a way to work around it. There is a bug "upstream at a carrier" that is preventing us from sending sms/mms from our core phone number. They failed to mention this prior to us porting our number into their system. Now we're stuck, but it's been weeks with no movement.

My experience with OpenPhone is really awesome. I use this every day to communicate with my prospects and clients. I always keep this in my arsenal. Their mobile app is too good and user friendly plus UI looks too good. You can do everything from their mobile like calls, sms, and voicemails and the most interesting part is their snippets feature.
Pros: This is my daily use business phone. I use OpenPhone to call and text my prospects and clients and this is a very helpful solution that I found on the Internet because when it comes to features there's no other software provided at this price. Their support is too fast like lightning speed, and they respond too quickly whenever you have a problem. OpenPhone gives you everything you need to start a business from scratch like calls, text messages, sending voicemails, voicemail transcriptions, call forwarding, round-robin and you can also add new numbers. Incredible app!
Cons: There's nothing to dislike about OpenPhone but it would be very helpful for sales if they provide a power dialer. This will save a lot of time, no doubt. But still, I love this app.
Rishi G. · Founder and CEO · Marketing and Advertising · June 21, 2023
Very satisfied, helps me to connect with all my clients and vendors
Pros: OpenPhone revolutionized communication, especially remotely. It's ease of connection and its use of texting features, has helped me a lot
Cons: The recent change of charging extra for texts and the increase in subscription are just a few factors that went against it.
Cyrus D. · Software Developer · Commercial Real Estate · May 31, 2023
Pros: I love many things - it works wonderfully, hardly ever a glitch! Customer service is great. Love that I can see texts, phone calls and voice mails from customers all in one spot!Anyone on my team can log into open phone from their device and make a call/respond to the customer from the app.
Cons: There is only one con. Once in a while, I run into a glitch where I want to enter this number into documents, but the phone number is not recognized as real phone number, so I have to put my personal number....so it's great as the forward facing phone number for customers for my business, but I have to use my personal number for certain administrative accounts.
Jen R. · CEO · Cosmetics · May 6, 2023
In my two years of using OpenPhone, I have never felt the need to replace this app because it has pretty much everything I need in a calling app.
Pros: The interface of both the PC and mobile version are very smooth and user friendly.
Cons: Whenever an update occurs, there is usually a minor inconvenience that comes along with it. Something like call logs not getting updated, or the app itself taken too long to update.
Emmanuel J. · Project Engineer · Commercial Real Estate · March 18, 2023
My experience has been very frustrating. I would not recommend using them. Their technical support is almost non-existent. I was trying to port a number into Openphone.
Pros: I did not use this product because I could not get it to work.
Cons: There is no telephone customer support. You can only have customer support by email which takes 24-48 hours for a reply. After not getting responses to my requests for help, I found out there were no refunds.
Robin M. · Owner · Construction · March 3, 2023
Terrible support, feels like I got scammed.
Pros: Easy when you are getting the subscription
Cons: They show the customer support number but when you call they say "we don't offer phone live support". Then I emailed for support and they are saying "we are on a much-needed break, contact us after Jan 3rd". And here I have a critical issue where I am not getting calls which is impacting me severely.

OpenPhone is a business phone and SMS solution designed specifically to make communication easier for small businesses owners and their teams. It offers a wide range of features that are tailored to meet the needs of entrepreneurs, solopreneurs, freelancers, and other small teams without unnecessary friction or feature bloat . With OpenPhone, you can make and receive calls, send and receive text messages, and even schedule messages to be sent at a later date. I love that it lets me share my phone number with customers without revealing my personal cell phone. Plus, OpenPhone offers a simple, straightforward pricing structure that makes it an ideal choice for businesses on a budget. Works awesome with my iphone.
Pros: OpenPhone is one piece of my business toolkit that I simply cannot be without. I own and manage two small businesses and was finding giving out my personal number unmanageable as I didn't know who was calling me and for what purpose. Having a dedicated local number that I can tie to my business in google maps, facebook, and my websites was a huge piece of my business toolkit. Openphone has been amazing.
Cons: There have been a few service outages in the time I have been a customer, but the openphone team has been responsive about action taken, and have communicated well though it all. All have been resolved in a timely fashion.
Nick W. · Owner · Music · December 7, 2022
Less than acceptable. Set up was problematic, could figure out what took so long. Promises to get connection soon..which is about two weeks. Even more a problem when leaving, they couldn’t care about requirement to have the number ported in a week.
Pros: The system worked fine once the number is ported, which took about two weeks. Lucky I didn’t need a phone right away. Receiving and making call functions worked as long as you have internet connection
Cons: The time to get set up and more the time to get my number ported to a cellular service provider when I needed it. About three weeks to get the number released, two weeks after the requirement for a phone for work was needed. They say they will reply within 48 hours, but is more like 48 to 60 hours...sometime in the second day after my inquiry. No urgency or proficiency in getting the routine administrative process of porting the number to another provider. They would rather you don’t have phone access let a paying customer leave when their service is no longer required. They promise to get the job done, but it will be a long wait, if it happens at all.

Support is easy to email and they are very knowledgeable. I have not found a better system for my day to day calls
Pros: I like that I can create text templates, schedule texts, call from my browser, mobile app, or desktop app. I also like that I can connect to my CRM.
Cons: It has had one major down time but was resolved very quickly
Kevin D. · Owner · Consumer Services · November 2, 2022
My overall experience with OpenPhone wasn't the greatest. Their customer service was always there to help but there just wasn't a lot they could do
Pros: I don't have that many pros during my time using OpenPhone. I can say that their customer service was always there to help even though there was not a lot of solutions that could be applied
Cons: Their mobile app constantly failed, we had more call drops than we've ever had before, and every time we called in trying to get something fixed they tried charging us each and every time
Thomas F. · System Engineer · Information Technology and Services · October 19, 2022
Very good; very few disruptions, and generally good feedback / response from the support team on the rare occasions something goes awry.
Pros: Generally easy to use, accessible from mobile phone, and supports both voice and text.
Cons: Recordings can be difficult to locate / download / play back.
Victor M. · Owner · Professional Training & Coaching · September 20, 2022
Pros: OpenPhone is very easy to use and has nice features like setting up your caller ID so that the person you're calling can see the name you entered. It can record calls clearly without any distortion/noise. All calls are clear.
Cons: I wish that I could use OpenPhone on my desktop (I use a chromebook). If a call is coming in, I wouldn't have to switch to a different tab.
