One-stop solution for probably >80% of reporting and data visualization topics within a company and easy to use access and downloading rights of underlying data.
Pros: Looker is a user-friendly and versatile cloud solution to provide analytics to a larger organization. The charting and graphs offer sufficient flexibility for the BI team to create the corresdonding reports and are easy to setup with reasonable ressources. A fairly priced solution given the variety of functions.
Cons: There is a slight delay depending on the data accessibility and performance to load but it is reliable across multiple end user devices (mobile, desktop)

The price is ok..as our data was big query it made it work much better.i like the drag and drop which makes it easy
Pros: It seemed very easy for the team to use it. With all the online help we managed to get a new coder working on it quickly
Cons: The guys got stuck when loading lots of data. So its a bit slow. Support in cases like this is difficult to get

Overall, my experience with looker has been positive. It provides a great selection of basic data visual tools and data integration options across several platforms. Looker does fall down a little bit when it comes to more advanced data handling and lacks some more complex data visualisation tools which competitors like Tableau provide. Use looker if you want a quick easy to pick up tool to create data visuals at a good standard. You may want to look at other options for more advanced options especially if you are communciating this data to senior stakeholders in a large company
Pros: Overall Looker is a good platform to build and develop useful data visuals and developed dashboards. The main benefit is the plethora of compatible sources of data. Utilising a mix of G suite and Microsoft looker can pull data from both googles platforms and microsoft as well as CSV files. Understandably looker is optimised for the G suite. This is a great benefit. I heavily rely on Bigquery. Within 3 clicks I can connect a big query script to a looker dashboard and begin working on creating clear and coherent visuals on the back of the data. Looker does give several customisable options for visuals. Utilising various charts like box and whisper and line charts as well as being able to overlay several data sources to have a simple clear visual on how different data sources compare. This is a great tool to easily visualise things for non technical and techincal stakeholders alike. On the whole I have not experienced and significant issues or bugs within in looker studio which inistelf is a great postive.
Cons: One of the key visuals that would be useful in looker is a data heat map. There are ways of doing this in looker however it requires several workarounds that are not the most accurate and don't deliver the requirements I require. This data visual is available in Tableau and is a key benefit over looker for me as I look at geographical trends which are easily illustratable to non techincal stakeholders. Another con however is a standard across modern cloud platforms is the reliablity on a third party provider. When there are outages on google this renders looker useless until this is fixed. This results in delays to daily work which is out of your control as an end user.

Powerful BI and analytics platform that unifies data exploration and dashboards across teams and stuff.
Pros: Robust data exploration, governed metrics, real-time dashboards, and deep integration with Google Cloud.
Cons: Steep learning curve for non-analysts and advanced setup can feel complex for everyday users. And that's just me being honest.
Henry Y. · Project Manager · Design · January 19, 2026
We are using it in our data extraction pipeline to track the time analysts spend on each document and their activities. This helps us set realistic targets for the team and boosts overall productivity. We also share daily reports with the team, which has further improved performance and efficiency
Pros: We appreciated Looker’s wide range of features, but what impressed us the most was its ability to create productivity metrics and provide consistent time and activity tracking.
Cons: Integration with other software is a challenging task for the development team. Looker should provide a clear and user-friendly integration guide to make the process easier.

I found that blending data from multiple data sources can be a hassle. Working more on building the visualizations, I found that while the final users appreciate the basic visuals and charts, my desire to create more compelling designs and visuals can be constrained by the platform limitations. Also, for complex queries, Looker becomes pretty slow. On the other hand, the interactivity its visuals bring up is better than one of the BI tool I used in the past (Tableau).
Pros: Probably the capability to allow non-technical users to create their own dashboards/reports to explore data. While a data analytics team can work on building complex dashboards, allowing for discovery and diagnostic, Looker allows business users to quickly draw out some information on their own, without wasting time on raising requests for the dev team
Cons: From a developer/data analyst point of view, the visualization capabilities are pretty limited compared to other tools, like Tableau or Power BI. Also, some limitations when it comes to connecting to different types of data sources.
Robert S. · Data Visualization Engineer · Industrial Automation · September 26, 2025
Pros: It has blended data feature which allows to create a single table from different data sources like Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
Cons: Some data does not refresh automatically so you need to connect again using data connectors and reload.

It is very easy to configure and implement dashboards on looker. For any company where GCP is their main source of ground truth, it is best choice but if you have equal possibility of using alternatives, there might be better options in the market as well.
Pros: It was very easy implementation and linking the data to GCP. It was used as the dashboard tool both for internal(marketing and business) and external(clients) teams. UI was user friendly and easy to set up.
Cons: There were a few bugs and issues with the dashboard. Some was that there were discrepancies between the main database and GCP, which resulted in missing data in the final dashboard.
Parsa G. · AI Data and Insights Analyst · Information Technology and Services · August 7, 2025
Pros: Looker is a rich and easy to use platform. It supports a lot of great connections and building visualizations or modifying them is intuitive.
Cons: Google Organizations and Google Groups on occasion can be confusing as you manage the organization of or cleanse access to Looker dashboards.

Once you understand the system, it gets easy to use and it’s very flexible. At the moment I am delivering 200 monthly reports with this source, works great and is reliable.
Pros: The reports are very customable, you can design a report almost as if you were working in power point. Like a drag-and-drop of different type of charts, and everything is connected to the sources you integrate.
Cons: It takes time to understand the tool, the resources integration can be confusing when you start using it. Also many useful charts are not available unless you install extensions. Would be also good if you could connect more resources than just Google ones, for example Facebook or linked in, without having to pay a third party for this solution.

Overall, I've had a really good time with Looker. It's a solid BI platform that truly shines in how it handles data and lets people help themselves. LookML is a game-changer for keeping our data clean and empowering users. It's totally helped us understand our data better. Even though I sometimes wish for cooler native charts, Looker's flexibility and data modeling capabilities definitely make up for it. It's a fantastic choice if you need a powerful and adaptable BI tool.
Pros: Looker's flexibility is awesome, especially with its LookML modeling. It means we define our business logic once, and it's consistent everywhere. This makes it super easy for anyone to dig into the data without needing to know complex code. Plus, quickly creating new reports and drilling down is a breeze. Version control for LookML is also a huge win for teamwork!
Cons: My main gripe is with the visualizations. Looker's great for data, but I really wish it had more advanced and complex chart types built-in. Sometimes, for really specific visuals, I have to export data or use other tools, which isn't ideal. While you can build custom visuals, it's not as straightforward as I'd like, and the standard options feel a bit basic for telling richer data stories.

Great tool to have all the organizational data in a visual dashboard to interpret, we mainly use it to compare sales objetives vs results, and evolutions
Pros: It is a great tool to visualize data, from results to objetives, evolutions, etc
Cons: It is sometimes a little bit slow to charge the dashboards
Laura S. · SDR · Financial Services · May 18, 2025
Good product if you are looking for a free data visualisation tool. Google products integrate quite well but external ones need to be connected via connectors, which can be expensive
Pros: Good free tool from Google for data visualisation and dashboard building
Cons: Breaks quite often and customisations can be limited. Also, extra connectors need to be paid

Theresa S. · Senior Account Executive · Computer Software · April 25, 2025
Pros: Looker is an excellent data modeling software with strong version control features
Cons: Complex configuration and setup for initial use
Eugen E. · IT Controller · Machinery · April 6, 2025
I find Looker to be quite a valuable BI tool used for the company I am currently working with. But due to its limitations - something that the company cannot deal it - it can be difficult to use and manage. I am hoping there are some improvements to be made.
Pros: Looker provides the real-time data with great support and customization. Fine tool for collaboration.
Cons: Some dependencies and performance issues; can be difficult to manage, and visualization is quite limited.

Overall Looker is the best visualization platform for all kind of info. Is easy to use after you spend some time to learn it and has a nice user interface.
Pros: The fact that I can connect more data sources, is saves me a lot of time as data is imported automatically. Also the ability to share the reports with a simple link is another useful feature.
Cons: At the beginning it seems that is very difficult to setup all the charts needed.
Carly P. · Accounts Administrator · Automotive · March 25, 2025
Pros: You can create your own reporting dashbaords, that's one of the reliable functionality I really look up on from this software. For some one who doesn't have SQL knowledge its a lot easier to make number talk the visualization part.
Cons: It isn't easier for some one new to get used to looker because of its steep learning curve. Compared to Tablue, looker feels a bit limited at times

Cons: ・Wish there was more features to add more visualization.

When it comes to explore, analyze, and visualize data effectively Looker is the app your should use. Is very handy when you have to make many reports for the whole team. It helps on analyze and predict different situation. Also, sharing the reports is easy as you can share the direct link to it or export into a PDF file.
Pros: Dashboard customization is the main feature I use Looker for. Looker works great with automatically importing data from different sources like Sheets, Analytics and Google Ads making my reports always up to date.
Cons: For a first timer Looker will be difficult to work with as there are many options and complex options.
Lucie E. · Customer Service Consultant · Insurance · December 19, 2024
Pros: We are able to generate reports internally and for customers on the fly and to be delivered at a regular cadence externally when needed.
Cons: It's a complex software (because it does so much) and obviously not the easiest to throw at an intern to learn.
Gerrit D. · Solutions Engineer · Computer Software · December 12, 2024
It's very easy to create rapidly new reports, and it can be very powerful. But you need to have a tech background.
Pros: Very accessible, updates, a lot of propositions
Cons: You need to know very well the measures you want to use
Nicolas M. · CMO · Information Technology and Services · November 26, 2024
Looker is a comprehensive reporting tool, it saves a lot of time as the data is imported automatically from different sources like sheets, Analytics or Google Ads. These reports can easily be exported in PDF and or shared directly fromc the app.
Pros: The most I like that I can connect different data sources witch will import automatically and create a complex dashboard for a better overview. I can easily create scheduled reports and share them.
Cons: It can be a little challenging to create the first dashboard.
Adrian W. · Fleet Operative · Automotive · November 19, 2024
Pros: Great data visualisation tool for showing my clients their data in a smarter and more intelligent way
Cons: The user interface can be a bit basic, but I like that it can be designed in my branding. It does however come across as a bit basic sometimes
