Lucidchart remains my go-to diagramming tool. It has continued to improve with smarter shape suggestions, better import from Visio, and enhanced data linking features. Whether I'm mapping out system architecture, creating process flows, or collaborating on wireframes, it handles everything smoothly and professionally.
Pros: Lucidchart's vast template library and intuitive drag-and-drop interface make creating professional flowcharts, org charts, and network diagrams fast and easy. Real-time collaboration is seamless, and the integration with Google Workspace, Confluence, and Jira is excellent for keeping diagrams in sync with workflows.
Cons: The free plan is quite restrictive with a 3-document limit. Performance can slow down with very large or complex diagrams, and some advanced shape libraries and features are locked behind higher-tier paid plans.

Lucidchart genuinely changed how I approached process documentation and team communication. Before it, most of what I was producing to explain workflows was either a wall of text or a rough diagram thrown together in PowerPoint that never quite looked right. Lucidchart gave those visuals a level of polish and clarity that made them actually useful in meetings and presentations.
Pros: The biggest win for me was how easy it made it to communicate complex processes to people outside my immediate team. As a Customer Success Manager, I was constantly trying to explain multi-step workflows including account onboarding, escalation paths, resolution timelines to stakeholders who didn't always have the same context I did. Lucidchart let me put those flows on a page in a way that just made sense visually, and people actually engaged with it rather than scrolling past a long email. The real-time collaboration stood out too. Being able to have a colleague jump into a diagram I was building and edit it live saved a lot of back-and-forth. We used it heavily for org charts when our team structure shifted, and having everyone work off one live document rather than emailing updated versions around was a relief. The Google Workspace integration also meant adoption was relatively smooth diagrams sat in Drive just like any other file, so there was no friction around access.

Cons: The advanced features also had a steeper learning curve than the basic interface suggested. Day-to-day diagramming is intuitive enough, but anything beyond that layering, data linking, conditional formatting took meaningful time to figure out, and not everyone had the bandwidth to get there. And on slower or shared network connections, which was a reality in some of our office setups, the tool could lag during live sessions, which was frustrating when working with someone in real time.

My experience with Lucidchart has been very positive. It helped improve organization and made visual planning and collaboration much more efficient.
Pros: Lucidchart is easy to use and makes creating flowcharts, diagrams, and workflows very simple. The collaboration features are especially helpful for teams, and the interface is clean and intuitive.
Cons: Some advanced features can take a little time to learn, and additional customization options would make it even better.

I tried to use lucid charts for my UML models and flow charts. I was not really able to finish the project with this software since it is hard to use.
Pros: That I could use it for free. That is it. It is a hard product to use. Saving work is not intuitive.
Cons: Lucid charts is a bulky, poor interface, that is is hard to use. The charts generated are hard to use as well.

In Digital Fruits I apply Lucidchart to plan campaign processes, illustrate strategies and record processes to be approved by clients. The template library will reduce the amount of time spent setting up and the design output will appear professional even without design knowledge.
Pros: It can become an excellent way to take a messy campaign process or content strategy and put it into a clean visual representation that can be immediately comprehended by clients and teammates; no other software I have attempted is more able to do this quickly.
Cons: Version control and template changes seem to be out of sync. When someone is shown a diagram that was edited by a colleague and notices some unexpected layout changes that do not have a clear revision trail, it is literally disorienting.

Started using lucidchart for university exercises of software engineering and it translated to everyday use when writing a website and documenting it.
Pros: It provides a easier way to write diagrams whether UML or others, with all the main templates available
Cons: Basically you operate better if you are online rather that and desktop platform for them it's good but for the customer it's time consuming.

Overall a really good cloud base diagramming and brainstorming application. The UI is modern, clean, and includes a really good catelog of templates.
Pros: Available as a web app that can accessed through any web browser. Really modern UI and includes a huge range of templates (networking diagrams, org charts, etc.) and shapes. Like the ability that it can convert Visio files and PDFs. Live collaborations with other team members within the same file is nice and works as expected.
Cons: There is no desktop application available for either Windows or macOS. The pricing can be a turn off for some people as it is a little on the pricer side when compared to Visio web that is included in most business M365 subscriptions.

It's been alright, but at the same time the tiered features for licensing are frustrating to deal with. But it is a very solid product that just works with very little configuration and set up.
Pros: I think that Lunicchart is a really solid product if you want a broswer based solution that just works. The value for the money is there, and they make a tool that is easy to use. They have tons of premade templates, and a massive template library to look in. They provide consistent updates to the product, and it has a good GUI/solid product design. They also have great customer support if you ever find yourself in a pinch.
Cons: They have a really frustrating licensing structure, where many features are only available for enterprise plans - this isnt always feasible when you have a small team working in Lucid, but you cant justify the cost for the enterprise licensing.

I still use it but for the mind maps now I prefer GEMINI that is more efficient with better graphics (no modifications)
Pros: Easy to use on-line, is simple to upgrade previous chart or to modify copy of previous. Have too few new graphic template
Cons: I had higher expectations about AI instrument for build new graph from text but you must correct a lot

Pros: It’s intuitive and makes it easy to create diagrams quickly. Collaboration works well, especially when multiple people need to contribute to the same visual.
Cons: Some advanced features require a bit of learning, and large diagrams can become harder to manage over time.
Jamie H. · Executive Vice President at FEVO · Information Technology and Services · April 7, 2026
Pros: I like Lucidchart the most for their ease of use and amazing UI that is very intuitive and easy to assume or find different pieces to a chart diagram. They have many integrations built in and easy to use.
Cons: I think its just the quality of the diagrams when you are a little bit more zoomed out but this could also just be a limitation of a persons monitor. It just seems extremely blurry when zoomed out.

It is in the best interests of our learning and teaching to exhibit the complex Scandinavian grammar graphically, as a Language Instructor. I employ it to plot linguistic ideas and develop interesting resources of study. An extremely strong diagramming tool, the limits placed on simple shapes by the paywall pricing structure can be annoyed by a non-profit making or small school.
Pros: The user friendliness in relation to the template library is superb and our instructors are able to quickly create beautiful sentence structure trees and vocabulary mind maps in our project design without knowing how to use graphics.
Cons: The higher price groups provide bad value to money to use certain education templates and tracing the changes and versions of the collaborative diagrams becomes extremely confusing and the customer support simply refers to the articles on forums.

Pros: I like how intuitive Lucidchart is to use. It doesn't take very long to get started in and learning new features is easy. It's a great tool for visually presenting data and sharing it with stakeholders.
Cons: Pulling in data from excel or other sites can sometimes be challenging. It would be nice to have more AI automation for automatically creating process flows from a script or excel file.

Excellent for basic diagramming, and the integration with Confluence makes it very useful for creating comprehensive documentation.
Pros: Excellent for diagrams and workflow depiction. Very easy to use with several templates. Collaborative and integrates well with Confluence.
Cons: Sometimes large and complex diagrams can take time to load and update. It requires getting used to with a little practice.

Visual clarity is needed in planning events. I find this to be a strategy mapping tool. It is necessary in project design but the cost is built up fast.
Pros: The template library is rich and it can be used to visualize complicated event processes fast so that the whole team can easily interpret the plan.
Cons: The updates and versions are frequent and sometimes change the location of important tools without notifying the customer, and the customer service is usually not responsive to billing mistakes.

Overall, our experience with Lucidchart has been very positive. It has become a key tool for visualizing complex processes, system integrations, and data architectures in a clear and structured way. From an Anaplan and Data Operations standpoint, it helps bridge the gap between technical and non-technical teams by making workflows and dependencies easy to understand. The collaboration features, ease of use, and clean visuals support faster alignment, better documentation, and more effective stakeholder communication. While there are minor limitations around performance and licensing, the value it provides in improving clarity, efficiency, and cross-team collaboration outweighs those challenges.
Pros: What we liked most about Lucidchart is how easily it allows us to visualize complex systems and processes. From an Anaplan and Data Operations perspective, it’s extremely helpful for mapping account hierarchies, data flows between systems (Salesforce, enrichment tools, GTM stack), and end-to-end process documentation. It enables clear collaboration across teams by making workflows, ownership, and dependencies easy to understand at a glance. This has been especially valuable when aligning with stakeholders, onboarding new team members, and explaining technical concepts to non-technical partners. The real-time collaboration and clean visuals help us move faster and reduce back-and-forth during reviews and planning discussions.
Cons: What we liked least is that some advanced features and integrations are locked behind higher-tier licenses, which can limit access for broader teams. For larger or more complex diagrams (such as detailed data flows or multi-system architectures), performance can occasionally slow down, making edits slightly less smooth. Additionally, managing permissions and version control across multiple collaborators can sometimes be a bit manual, especially when diagrams are frequently updated.

Pretty awful, totally not worth their value proposition. Their customer retention people are aggravating to deal with while trying to close the account and be reimbursed for services not used.
Pros: It was web based and simple to use. That's about it. You can have multiple users access the files from the web.
Cons: The pricing is ridiculous for what amounts to a flow chart software. It can be easily replaced by a variety of FOSS self-hostable software. Something any small business should be able to set up in an afternoon.
François P. · CTO · Biotechnology · January 27, 2026
My overall experience with Lucidchart has been largely positive. It’s a strong, accessible tool for quickly creating and collaborating on diagrams, especially when the goal is clarity and alignment rather than pixel-perfect design. While it can feel constrained for very complex or highly technical diagrams and gets expensive at scale, it does a great job of helping teams communicate visually with minimal friction.
Pros: What I liked most about Lucidchart is how easy it makes turning complex ideas into clear, shareable diagrams. The drag-and-drop interface is intuitive, collaboration feels natural in real time, and it’s flexible enough to handle everything from quick flowcharts to more detailed system diagrams. It’s especially useful for aligning teams visually without needing a steep learning curve or specialized design skills.
Cons: What I liked least about Lucidchart is that it can feel limiting or cluttered as diagrams grow more complex. Performance sometimes slows with larger or more detailed charts, and advanced features or exports are gated behind paid plans. Over time, the interface can feel busy, which makes precision work or very technical diagrams a bit more frustrating than it should be.

We replaced diagrams.co with Lucid chart because of it's greater range of features and team collab was superior. Overall its super helpful for us to build journeys and architecture flows.
Pros: Lucid has one of the best library of user flow templates it's super easy to use and I also found it to be quite affordable for our organisation
Cons: I think the initial set up is a bit tedious but other than that all seemed fine. Some controls are a little fiddly and some of the UI is a bit dated.
Faz Y. · EMEA Product Manager · Leisure, Travel & Tourism · January 20, 2026
I use it a lot to map out complex processes for people and teams that need them explained simply and quickly. It's good for tracking progress on projects but even better for processes.
Pros: It's robust, aesthetically pleasing, and doesn't have a big learning curve. I particularly like that it has templates as well to get you started.
Cons: It can be a little slow sometimes but primarily when working with others on the same map. It also could be slightly easier to learn more advanced features.
Sean N. · LX and Technology Manager · Higher Education · January 12, 2026
Lucidchart made it easier to create process flows and diagrams for project planning and team communication.
Pros: The drag-and-drop interface is intuitive, and collaboration in real time works smoothly. Diagrams are clear and easy to share with stakeholders.
Cons: Some advanced diagram features are locked behind paid plans, and complex diagrams can become harder to manage visually.

I have had a great experience by creating charts, also with support team, who were very helpful to solve integration issues and collaborative board has been a great enhacement
Pros: It easy usage to create flowcharts and many options it provides. Also collaboration board is a great opportunity to share knowledge with team mates
Cons: Initially I have faced problems with Quip integration. but after support team intervention it has been solved, and now it works smoothly with Quip

My overall experience is great it’s within price range and it has so many tools to use for my projects
Pros: What I love is making charts and graphs for my it class which is great as it has everything I need and more
Cons: I wish during my time using this service that it had more with AI and I wish it had more options and more.
