We have used this platform for years and have had great success. We even have clients request to utilize our data room when they have their own because Firmex is so easy to use.
Pros: The ease of use for everyone. Administrators down to users find this platform to be very user friendly but still provides the security needed for our data.
Cons: While the ease of use and the flexibility is a plus, the cost of this platform can be prohibitive to some companies.

I've been actively using FIRMEX for around 2 months and I've had a very good experience. Although I didn't have experience with VDR, I've found very easy to manage the platform and get it ready for M&A purposes.
Pros: It's easy to use even without previous knowledge of the platform functionalities. My experience with the support has been very good. Updating/adding/deleting files is easy. Navigate through the platform is easy with its branch-structure.
Cons: Although I don't have a point for comparison of other data rooms, I've heard that the cost is expensive, much more when storage capacity increase is needed.

I am happy with the data room because it helps keep multiple meetings organized and securely protected. Our other users that we share the files with also find it easy to use. But the customer service makes the difference- when we need assistant it is important that we get the issue resolved properly.
Pros: It is very user friendly and style or format is well organized. The customer service has been exceptional. The help team is very knowledgeable, patient, fast response time and is thorough in explaining how to solve a tech issue.
Cons: How to edit or move/reorder files is a bit challenging to figure out if new to the system. It is difficult to figure out on your own without requesting support.

I wished all companies had the same level of customer service as Firmex. It is unusual to speak to a person for customer support these days. The people I've spoken to are always helpful and stick with you even when the problem is complex.
Pros: Firmex is user-friendly, even for a first time user, which most of our clients (and often buyers) are. The customer support is also top notch.
Cons: Until you learn to use it, the uploading of the spreadsheet takes a minute to prepare. I also wished it was easier to add areas when the DD checklist is already uploaded with files already in it. Once you learn how to navigate this, it isn't bad. I also wished you could completely delete buyers when a deal falls through and you add a new buyer.

Downloading data from the site was easy until I learned I couldn't bulk download. I called to see if I could get bulk download access and my question was quickly answered.
Pros: The issues I had with it were rectified quickly and efficiently. The phone number to call was easy to find.
Cons: Not being able to bulk download seemed like a huge issue but then I learned it was a permissions issue and that was remedied.

Good. I've used the software for years and in comparison to its peers its easy to use and I like it visually.
Pros: Easy of use. Product support. Having use competing products I would say Firmex is amongst the best data room platforms.
Cons: Initial view of the data room and lack of guide in program. However, once I learnt to use the software it became intuitive.

Pros: Very prompt responses from customer service, overall very easy to use data room and best price offered
Cons: Some of the end users didn't realise that there documents in root folders, which could be more obvious

Reasonably easy to use, good value for money. Easy to upload, redact, share and download documents. Good Q&A module.
Pros: Good customer support, good value for money, fast delivery of USB archives. Overall experience and quality on par with the best VDR providers.
Cons: The tree structure of the files could be better. As it is today, it is difficult to navigate. It is also difficult to understand where in the folders structure are located files found by searching.

Using Firmex was a seamless experience during a complex due diligence process. The platform’s intuitive interface made organizing and sharing hundreds of sensitive documents effortless, while its robust security features gave us confidence that everything was protected. What truly stood out was the exceptional customer support—available 24/7 and proactive in resolving any issues, which ensured our project stayed on track without delays.
Pros: Double authentication and seamless transition. Bulk download available. I can access all different data rooms with just 1 path and 1 authentication.
Cons: Technical complexity and technological dependence: Requires a stable connection and secure devices; technical failures can disrupt critical processes.

My overall experience with Firmex Virtual Data Room has been quite positive. I do think that your customer service is probably your greatest strength and the people who work in that space should be rewarded for their work.
Pros: Customer support is always available and helpful. I have never experienced an issue that customer support could not address in one phone call.
Cons: Perhaps the reporting could be a bit more robust. Not a huge complaint, though. There are simply times when a report request comes in from a client and I cannot find a suitable option within Firmex.

I am satisfied, especially because of the quickly responding team. Also, performance (uploading) is okay.
Pros: Userfriendly interface and fast-responding staff. -Zou je met extra financiering sneller kunnen groeien?
Cons: Dutch language is not supported, for our clients (end users) this would be nice. Maybe an option to add in the future?

My overall experience with Firmex Virtual Data Room was very positive. It’s a secure, user-friendly platform that made managing and sharing sensitive documents straightforward. The interface is intuitive, and the permission settings gave me confidence in controlling access
Pros: Firmex Virtual Data Room is easy to use, secure, and reliable. I especially liked its intuitive interface, fast document uploads, and strong permission controls.
Cons: The least appealing aspect of Firmex Virtual Data Room was the occasional lag when navigating large folders or bulk uploading documents. It could also benefit from more advanced reporting features.
Paul G. · CFO · Telecommunications · October 22, 2025
Very satisfied overall. Solid product. The product does what it is intended to do. There is a lot of info to go through.
Pros: Easy to maneuver around, clearly defined categories, organized thoughtfully. I like the ability to download documents as well.
Cons: Security process can be a bit tricky with two step authentication. My security key didnt call up and had to reset stuff which created a several hour delay in accessing info.
Mike B. · Partner · Investment Management · September 16, 2025
Pros: Value and ease of use, onboarding was prompt and professional. File uploading is a breeze and the layout is intuitive.
Cons: Not much on cons, but I think if you have to upload very large files or data you might run into capacity or speed issues that might slow performance.
Timothy W. · CFO · Consumer Goods · September 10, 2025
Pros: Firmex VDR is intuitive, secure, with great support and flexible pricing. Cons: Overpriced USB-archives for 3-day delivery, tricky settings, clunky Q&A tracker, and frequent maintenance.
Pros: Very intuitive to use, good pricing, awesome support. Secure, efficient, and user-friendly platform for seamless data room management.
Cons: However, the USB-archives are overpriced if you need them within 3 days, despite the reliable service and robust features offered.

I've had a great experience using Firmex. My client was particularly price-sensitive, and Firmex offered a very fair and competitive rate. I’ve uploaded over 500 documents so far, and the platform makes it incredibly easy to keep everything organized and accessible.
Pros: I really appreciate how clean and intuitive the interface is—especially when it comes to moving folders and files around. It makes organizing the VDR everything feel effortless especially when I am in a time crunch.
Cons: The interface could use a bit of improvement, but overall, the platform has everything you need to run a full dataroom for an M&A process. It’s comprehensive and gets the job done efficiently.

Fantastic experience. Easy to use and great customer support. I felt like Firmex was invested in me and wanted me to have good user experience.
Pros: It is easy to use. I had an issue uploading documents at fist. So I called customer support. [sensitive content hidden] set up a zoom call and worked diligently to resolve my issue. She showed me another way to upload documents that worked like a charm. Great personality too. She really took the time to make sure I was satisfied with her answer and could upload documents to the data room.
Cons: Once I figured out how to upload the documents, the process was smooth. [sensitive content hidden] set up a zoom call and worked diligently to resolve my issue.
Mike C. · Vice President and Associate General Counsel · Insurance · July 26, 2025
Very positive - has performed well in our project applications over the past 2 years. Has also been given a positive rating by external users.
Pros: General ease of use, and availability of high-quality support. Excellent value for money compared to competitive products.
Cons: Some minor navigation/permission issues in terms of user roles/profiles. Apart from this, nothing to complain about.
IAN C. · CONSULTANT - COMMERCIAL · Mining & Metals · July 24, 2025
Great, it is a no frill or gimmicks environment, does the job intuitively and logically without too much clutter.
Pros: Ease of use, the layout and overall look and feel is quite appealing and intuitive, next steps feel logical
Cons: Cannot load or copy a pre-determined folder structure. We should be able to copy folder structures from completed projects etc.?
Sean W. · Director, FPnA MnA · Automotive · July 2, 2025
My over all experience with the system is very good but the overall experience with the agents were EXCELLENT. Agents were very nice, friendly and knowledgeable. Today, thanks to [sensitive content hidden] for a job well done.
Pros: I can organize the folders and files in a the way I wanted them to appear. I like that the dates on each file is shown as it provides information to the administrator if the file is updated.
Cons: I did not like the set-up where I have to create redundant folders for users with read only permission and different folder for users with full access permission.
CRISTINA S. · GIS Specialist · Mining & Metals · May 29, 2025
The Firmex Virtual Data Room is a great VDR alternative and is very easy to use. I recommend to my friends who need to use a VDR.
Pros: It is very easy to create new folders and only add select groups to these folders. Additionally, the VDR is very safe and the watermarking feature is great.
Cons: Sometimes the Q&A tracker is a bit difficult to use, especially when seeing new questions. Maybe being able to see new questions as they arise in a separate tab would be great.
Reese P. · Investment Banking Analyst · Banking · May 29, 2025
Pros: Improved UI/UX Top quality support Prompt response and Most flexible access control features work for us based on the nature of our business as a financial institution.
Cons: Too many system maintenance lately, this approach will discourage on-demand access and usage of the VDR. Implementing MFA as an additional layer for admins and later extending it to end users (guests); this will ensure access control on the authentication layer, protecting sensitive data and documents.

It has been good, I particularly appreciate how quickly the team responds to inquiries and solves issues in live time.
Pros: I find it's quiet user friendly, and easy to set up. I also like the ability to create as many user groups as required.
Cons: I don't like the way it looks, its very boring and old fashioned, especially compared to the other offerings around.
Joshua M. · Legal Assistant · Accounting · May 22, 2025
Whenever I run in to any issues (which are pretty rare), the support team is always available to sort the issue. Which I really value.
Pros: The ease of use and how intuitive it is. I really like the platform and the 24/7 support available when I need it.
Cons: I don't think there is anything that I do not like about the platform. I believe the platform is extremely intiutive.
Usman K. · Associate · Accounting · May 21, 2025
My overall experience with Firmex has been very positive. It's a reliable and secure platform that made sharing confidential documents with internal teams and external partners straightforward. Setup was quick, support was responsive, and the system stayed stable even during high-volume use.
Pros: Firmex made the due diligence process seamless during a recent M&A transaction. The speed at which we could upload, organize, and share thousands of files with external parties was impressive. The built-in Q&A feature was especially useful for managing buyer queries without losing track of any communication.
Cons: There’s limited customization in terms of branding or dashboard layout. For firms that want a more tailored or white-labeled experience, Firmex feels a bit too 'one size fits all.
