Automated Deployments, Scheduling and dynamic collections help us as a team reduce manual work on a large number of devices - that helps our efficiency!
Pros: The UI easy to understand, simple as it is. It is straigtforward and even our new Hires can quickly understand how to assess inventory, create deployments and more.
Cons: Managing Remote Devices outside the Network can be hard compared to more cloud based platforms. However, it can work via LAN or VPN, but not every Remote Device comes into the LAN / VPN regulary

I've been using PDQ for quite a while now. It has been crucial i rapid software deployment and knowing what's going on with my workstations.
Pros: This software really made a difference for me in terms of deploying software to workstations as well as knowing the detailed inventory. The deployment process is easy and very effective. Inventory, with it's customisable reports gives me an insight of my fleet of devices.
Cons: To be honest, I am unable to find any drawbacks, except the Inventory not doing as good job with Windows 11 machines. I have to push WIMC to have accurate data.

PDQ saves our IT team a ton of time. Being able to package software installation and deploy it in an automated fashion saves us significant time when deploying new PCs. Additionally, many endpoint software updates that we previously had to do manually on every endpoint can now be automated with PDQ Deploy.
Pros: PDQ Inventory and Deploy work hand-in-hand. I love the fact that Inventory can provide a dynamic list of endpoints that meet certain criteria (OS, software version, etc.) and present it to Deploy for software or script deployment.
Cons: PDQ Deploy can initiate software or script deployment on a schedule (once, interval, daily, etc.). One of these options is called "Heartbeat". I love this idea of this option. It's supposed to detect when a PC is online and then deploy the package. However, this option hasn't worked for us in the past.

Game changer on remote deployment and management.
Pros: The ability to use tools and deployments remotely as well as how well the two products work with each other.
Cons: I don't like how difficult it is to add multiple PCs to an inventory collection or deploymwnt.
Brooke H. · Technical Support Specialist I · Industrial Automation · March 18, 2025
Overall very happy. The two tools work together to make maintaining a large network of computers so much easier and more efficient. Without an efficient way to gather software and hardware info, then act upon it with relevant software deployments, we would need to add another staff member.
Pros: Once you get the platform configured it has tremendous value in the host inventory and custom reporting features.
Cons: Initially, understanding the logic within the data gathering/scan profiles and custom reporting was difficult. It's not the most intuitive, but once you figure it out you can literally do anything you want with it.

IT teams use PDQ on a daily basis, which allows them to manage machines remotely, but also to keep our fleet up to date.
Pros: PDQ Deploy allows you to deploy and install software remotely in bulk PDQ Inventory allows you to take inventory of obsolete software it's simple to use!
Cons: You have to buy both software together but the product is very good
Paul P. · On-Premise and Cloud Infrastructure Manager · Retail · August 2, 2024
Pros: As a small IT shop PDQ helps me stay on top of updates and schedule them where it does not inconvenience the user.
Cons: Sometimes confusing creating an inventory collection.
Robert P. · Chief Technology Officer · Law Practice · July 18, 2024
I am a long time user of both Deploy and Inventory. These tools are a force multiplier for an understaffed IT group. You cannot imagine the ease of pushing out hundreds of updates while drinking your coffee in the morning.
Pros: Ease of use. This is a product that actually does what it says.
Cons: I would like the ability to connect 2 instances of PDQ Inventory to create a baseline configuration of each machine so that I can track and report changes.
Randy W. · Corporate Director of IT · Aviation & Aerospace · June 18, 2024
A great management tool for our organization.
Pros: Ease of use and ability to do the tasks needed for managing devices. A huge time saver. A huge travel saver as I do not need to be on site to push programs, add printers, etc.
Cons: It's not free. Seriously, I don't have a con that I can think of. It meets my needs,
Perry C. · Systems Engineer · Education Management · June 11, 2024
Pros: This is a great solution to deploy software and scripts remotely.
Cons: Sometimes you will get a success message even though the task did not complete.
Matt W. · AM · Automotive · June 6, 2024
It has been a smooth ride on asset tracking and management with this tool which has resulted in reduced cost of asset replacement due to loss or wear and tear. The ripple effect is inventory management which has been made easy and efficient using PDQ Deploy & Inventory.
Pros: Despite the ease of use, it is a great tool that helped with patch management as well as real time monitoring of assets.
Cons: Nothing to dislike, it met our expectations
Francesca G. · ICT Director · Information Technology and Services · May 6, 2024
Pros: Without agent installation on the Clients.
Cons: So far nothing negative has been noticed.
Frank S. · Admin · Automotive · May 6, 2024
Pros: Automating Software and Patches for Desktops.
Cons: Wake on LAN does not work. Also, the package library is limited. I do not have the option to add different software to the package library so It can auto-download/ approve the latest version,
Darian J. · IT Tech · Medical Devices · March 14, 2024
It is a critical component in our Inventory and Security Patching process. Helps us keep systems patched so that we are less vulnerable to security threats.
Pros: You can setup automated scheduled tasks to patch systems at any time during the week or weekends. Allows patches to automatically be pushed out afterhours to avoid any system downtime.
Cons: It is mainly intended to only inventory and patch Windows products. It would be great to have more integration where it could go out and inventory printers and linux type devices.
Jim W. · Director of Information Security · Financial Services · March 13, 2024
Pros: Efficace, rapide, sans interaction avec les clients
Cons: Il faut y consacrer du temps pour le prendre en main correctement
Annick D. · IT Manager · Education Management · February 22, 2024
Mindblowing, if all software was this good there would not be any conflict in the world.
Pros: -> Intuituve -> Extensive and detailed documentation -> Good technical support -> Low maintenance, great performance -> Fantastic UI -> Phenomenal integration with external scripting languages like powershell and batch.
Cons: -> Hard to think of anything, this thing WORKS. Reminds me of Windows 7 when it came out, kicked ass out of the box (and kicks ass even today). We're on a 4 year old version of PDQ and even with all the missing updates, it still works very well.
Dan I. · Applications support and administration · Retail · February 2, 2024
Pros: Really easy to used platform to deploy softwares and patch
Cons: Sometimes need some search to have good silent deploy
Pascal V. · it technician · Construction · November 12, 2023
Overall best for my use because of it's ease of use and convience provided by it.
Pros: Best thing is that it is very easy to use and guides us with the maps of printers and deployment of updated softwares.
Cons: Sometimes some error occurs in the deployment that is not so clear...On large scale it's speed slows down

Good
Pros: PDQ Deploy & Inventory service and support
Cons: PDQ Deploy & Inventory service and support Software and report type
Satheesh B. · MANAGER · Airlines/Aviation · September 28, 2023
Was able to install products that GPOs couldn't. Was able to discretely target systems, or initiate a sitewide roll-out.
Pros: Many options for setting up install and deploy routines. Automatically refreshed network inventory. Active Directory Integration. Ability to target by queries, OUs or just about anything.Good integration between the prodcts (Deploy and Inventory). Good reporting.
Cons: Can be kind of daunting for new users. A bit slow sometimes.

This is the 2nd job I have had with PDQ. Part of the reason I was hired for this position was my knowledge of PDQ. The previous admins had purchased but no one knew how to use it. The overall system was in a neglected state. In the 9 months I have been here I have rebuilt and moved PDQ to new servers and changed the way Patch management was done. I retired WSUS because I can do all that it does and more with PDQ. So much more. And the customer support is amazing. I use it when I am stuck with what seems to be unique to our company issues and your staff makes it simple to resolve. I do believe I have become a much more efficient engineer because of PDQ. Keep up the awesome work!!
Pros: Automation is a must when you have over 400 devices. It makes complex problems much easier to accomplish.
Cons: I really have not had time to learn all of the features of your products. But that is not on PDQ. Your YouTube videos are amazing and fun to watch. Keep up the humor. That goes a long way in IT.
James F. · System Engineer · Hospital & Health Care · August 17, 2023
Can't tell something bad about it, easy to use, affordable price, nice support.
Pros: Most of all, we use PDQ deployment, easy way to deploy software and patches. PDQ deployment is good for script automation, easy to set up any scheduled task to meet your requirements.
Cons: Devices outside the local network are not manageable.
Maksims K. · Helpdesk · Information Technology and Services · July 26, 2023
A big piece from the management side is being able to quickly true-up or massive Microsoft E5 licensing and pricing. The hardest port of using PDQ is teaching HD staff all of the powerful things that can be accomplished with the combination of Inventory and Deploy.
Pros: Ease of use, integration with other tools, price, functionality, the overall stability of both Inventory and Deploy and the integration of the two products.
Cons: They ONLY thing that I have found no way to do that would make things perfect, is to be able to pass a computer name or IP address variable to a custom PowerShell script or custom scanner.
Marc H. · Sr. IT Systems Engineer · Law Practice · July 17, 2023
All patches, updates and upgrades are resolved very quickly and in addition your support is very fast and friendly. I am very happy that I chose PDQ.
Pros: It is very easy to install and using. You can choose if you want client/server or local mode.Has got many (maybe all) softwares for daily use.
Cons: I haven not find anything like that yet.
Jakub M. · Senior Service Desk Administrator · Telecommunications · July 7, 2023
Pros: There are no agents to install on systems being inventoried and it is installed locally on your own network (even just a local desktop) which make a it quick to install and keeps all the communications and data within your local network.
Cons: Because it is agentless there are issues when trying to inventory systems that are removed from the local network, e.g. Home workers.
