The customer service is not great, I cant believe that they charge 5,000 dollars to train new MSP's to use their system.
Pros: Privileges, though you cannot copy and paste and no spell check. they need to update the system, not charge and arm and a leg for an outdated system.
Cons: I wish it had more options and was more user friendly. the verifications. Outdated system. Please get better.

Going good. I love the alerts because they help me manage my deadlines and time management. The new rollouts are very interesting, and I am excited to use some of the new features that pertain to my area of work.
Pros: Ready for PSV action! I love the alerts because they help me manage my deadlines and time management. The new rollouts are very interesting, and I am excited to use some of the new features that pertain to my area of work.
Cons: Gap information widget is not easily read and accuracy is not 100%. Down time when updates are rolled out, BUT this has gotten significantly better

Overall, my experience has been wonderful with Credential Stream. It has made the credentialing process much easier even though its more tailored to a Hospital Based organization rather than a primary care/multi-specialty group like our organization.
Pros: I love the widgets and the overall visual experience of the platform.
Cons: The variables are not easy to choose when building reports and a lot of the time it's a trial-and-error process when building new reports.

CredentialStream has made my job easier and more efficient. Even though I have just started using this about 5 months ago, I have been able to close out intial and reappointment files faster than ever, and everything is more organized to be able to work more efficiently.
Pros: The organization and detailed system which helps make my job more efficient.
Cons: I am not a fan of not being able to manually add requested privileges, if the privileges did not come through their reappointment application, due to their current privileges already listed; it won't let me add the same DOP twice even though it's will be categorized at requested privileges not current.

Joined the system in October 23, really enjoyed the system so far!
Pros: Simplicity of most sections make the system easy to use for reporting, organization, etc.
Cons: Reporting variables are sometimes hard to differentiate since they are just in code language.

Great experience. I can't imagine using another software.
Pros: The Apply Feature and Bolt Reports are excellent.
Cons: Not all the credentialing applications are loaded in the library. Also, a lot of them are out-of-date.

after 15 months "live" in the system, we still struggle daily with issues/failures/delays in the system. At any given time we have a multitude of tickets open with support. We have lost significant efficiency since go-live, due to extra clicks, extra navigation, slowness, outages, etc.
Pros: Some of the Bolt reporting capabilities are helpful, but there are many variables left to be desired, and creating a Bolt report is not very easy for beginners.
Cons: Automation failing without explanation (and without us finding out until after the fact), delays, outages, slowness, visual presentation (white background is detrimental to ocular health), inflexibility in many areas.

All of the trainers have been wonderful, kind and patient. The system seems intuitive and user friendly so far. Any bugs we have been able to get worked out so far. The payer side of things is lacking for us per our Billing Manager.
Pros: I like how automated that my credentialing process will be once we get it implemented.
Cons: The training is extensive and too much to do prior to the actual implementation.
Kristina F. · HR Manager · Hospital & Health Care · January 13, 2025
Initial training and implementation hands on was invaluable.
Pros: Tracking cert/license due dates and quick customer service turnaround.
Cons: lots of clicks, templates would be nice =)

After having been part of 10 system conversions, this has by far been the absolute worst one I have ever had to go thru, and over two years later, it has only gotten worse. Honestly, it would not have been my selection to go with after having demo'd it prior to coming to work for my current employer. I already knew the con's and had many other references telling us to avoid this program at all costs. I would have immediately told my current employer to continue demoing other software programs and not go with this program.
Pros: Unfortunately, as I am looking thru the system, I can't say that there is anything that I like about the system as it has next to nothing that is truly Dental only related and you are unable to customize specifically for dental.
Cons: inability to customize for specific customer. all or none and we will only change it if we get enough likes from everyone is not effective, system slowness, non-stop high priority fixes, constant config remapping following every fix, variables that are archived and yet still continue to cause issues, lack of customer service knowledge when calling in for assistance, shouldn't have to literally train the rep on your software and the list goes on.

Other than the completely inefficient way to add providers to practices it's wonderful. I think the provider portion of it is amazing but being able to add new practices need a lot of work.
Pros: it's very good at keeping things in order and being able to have information filtered to multiple spreadsheets
Cons: There's no bulk adding. When adding a new practice I need to add providers and I can only scroll through the first 200 alphabetically. If I type in one providers name and click on them it will erase if I search for another provider. We have practices (ER's and Urgent Cares) with over 300 providers and when I open a new practice it could take me an entire day to add providers because I have to add them one at a time.
Kaitlin L. · Provider Enrollment Liaison · Hospital & Health Care · January 9, 2025
Overall good. very busy system, requires special training to operate. Once you get hang of it is really helpful. becomes very slow some days.
Pros: All electronic verification and appoint process. sending out application is very easy.
Cons: Hub is very slow. providers are complaining it is not user friendly to fill out the application. They are having issues in loading all the sign documents every time.
Shruti J. · Credentialing Specialist · Health, Wellness and Fitness · January 9, 2025
Pros: There are multiple ways to accomplish one function.
Cons: Pathways and names weren't always intuitive.
Jaclynn K. · Credentialing Supervisor · Medical Practice · January 9, 2025
Customer service is very unhelpful. you send a ticket in about an issue, they look at it, think they've solved the issue and close the ticket out before even discussing it. The saving of the verifications when working expired/expiring documents is time consuming. it takes each one at least 30 seconds to finally save and if youre working on 100+ items that need to be verified, it adds up.
Pros: It does help with getting expirables done quicker
Cons: it will continue to try to verify places even though I've dated it in the WorkFlow that its been reviewed/verified
Rebecca M. · Credentialing Specialist · Hospital & Health Care · January 9, 2025
Learning curve that has its pros and cons
Pros: Very organized, and I like the attached documents options
Cons: We need to type the names to see all our staff list. Many clicks that are required to complete the profile. Impute in time consuming

Wish we would have not switched to this database. Initial onboarding was a nightmare. Constant issues. Not user friendly.
Pros: I don't have a favorite aspect of CredentialStream.
Cons: Cumbersome, not intuitive, far too techy when it comes to report creation. Lots of good ideas, but execution falls short. There's almost always a reason why we cannot fully utilize a particular feature
Stephanei S. · Medical Staff Services Manager · Hospital & Health Care · January 9, 2025
It has way too many errors, very slow and not user friendly
Pros: I cant think of anything off the top of my head.
Cons: Any kind of customer support takes way too long to actually get answers to the issues.
Kendra A. · Medical Staff Services Coordinator · Medical Practice · January 9, 2025
Over all, CredentialStream is ok. Again, is easily accessible for the most part, but the program crashing often can kind of be inconvenient when there are deadlines for many providers.
Pros: each section to view is easily accessible for the most part
Cons: when we have to check a provider's npi registry and we click on it, the screen is not the same as the original set up, as it's cut off or something, causing you to scroll a lot. it's like 2 windows in one window when it pops up and it's not very easy to view. checking their taxonomy code is now a hassle. Changing the "Verify Now" feature is ok, but I like where it was originally for easier access, instead of having to right click over a provider's name.
Armisha S. · Credentialing Rep · Health, Wellness and Fitness · January 9, 2025
Too often it has a lag and finding the enrollment applications should be easier than it is.
Pros: I was excited about the automations and of how many enrollment applications were available in the system.
Cons: It's not user friendly and I worry we don't have it set up to best optimization.
Angelia G. · Director of RCM · Health, Wellness and Fitness · January 9, 2025
$85
Pros: $86
Cons: The implementation planning. It felt like boxes to check off and not actually someone (or a team) sitting down with us to figure out what we need as an organization and team. Looking back, I would completely revamp the implementation program. This is not a critique on people as much as it is process and CredentialStream's strategy. I completely understand the logic of having clients troubleshoot on their own, when appropriate. However, when you are initially learning an entire new system, there should be a high level of physical support for your clients.
Tara G. · Administrative Director, Medical Staff Services · Hospital & Health Care · January 9, 2025
So far so good. I am enjoying it. The transition from my other database has been smooth because of how user friendly credentialstream is.
Pros: I like how user friendly it is. Being the primary solo user of the database, it was hard for me to retain a lot of the trainings, but I am able to navigate it just fine.
Cons: I do not like that I have to always look at the "inactive" providers on my side bar. I wish that I could make it so it would just display active, and inactive if I needed it to for any reason.
Makenna F. · Executive Assistant and Medical Staff Coordinator · Hospital & Health Care · January 9, 2025
we have so many manual operations its annoying
Pros: nothing.
Cons: its not automated.
Lisa O. · Manager · Hospital & Health Care · January 9, 2025
it can be alot to learn, cumbersome, alot to look at but once you figure it out when it works it is great.
Pros: easy electronic communication with providers
Cons: common slowness, errors, spinning and downtime
Mandi P. · Verification specialist · Hospital & Health Care · January 9, 2025
We already have a call scheduled with a senior CS member to discuss our experience later this month.
Pros: [sensitive content hidden] is excellent team member.
Cons: * Monthly application updates. * Communication about why an error occurred and how it was fixed when submitting a Support Ticket. * Integration does not work as expected for background checks - still a work in progress - we were told it was like a 'plug and play' integration (turned on in May 2024). A ticket is placed and will be placed into Production 10.16.2024 to hopefully fix the latest issue. * Lack of guidance and education to audit our Perf Priv module during project development/rollout. That project started in July 2023 and is not yet functioning.
Jen H. · Application Analyst · Hospital & Health Care · October 15, 2024
The overall experience working with the product is giving us so many opportunities for future integrations.
Pros: Very functional with many options and features. User friendly and excellent training.
Cons: Bolt variables very confusing, too many variables.
