Great! It saved us a lot of time, and our team uses it constantly. The financeOS hase become our single source of truth and we'll definitely use it more and more.
Pros: Financial reporting, customer support, amazing AI features, manual work automation. Report generation, is clearly a big feature together with all our financial data consolidation.
Cons: Honestly I don't have anything specific to highlight, the bugs that my team update were all fixed, and we know if anything is found they will be quickly fixed.

We've had a great experience with Datarails! Implementation was smooth and our "Go-Live" has been great as well. We're happy with Datarails!
Pros: Datarails is very user-friendly and innovative. The team is very helpful and responsive to any requests or needs, and we're super happy with everything!
Cons: There's nothing I dislike so far. We've had a few requests for features, but the Datarails team has been super receptive and confirmed they'll add our request to their list of request features.

Overall it's been a positive experience. The dashboards have made sharing financials with the team a lot easier, and once you get past the initial learning curve, it just works. Solid tool for the job.
Pros: The dashboards are my favorite part. They make it so much easier to share financial data with the team without having to rebuild everything each month.
Cons: Honestly, not much to complain about. There's a bit of a learning curve at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty smooth.

Overall, my experience with Data rails has been very positive as it made reporting faster, clearer, and more organized.
Pros: Data rails made work much easier by bringing all our data together automatically and keeping everything updated. It saves us valuable time.
Cons: Because the system has many features, it took some time to get fully comfortable. Some reports also required customization at the beginning, but once the workflow was understood and the setup was completed, the process became much easier.

Pros: Ability to make better reports Ability to make faster reports Ease of use Support in resolution of issues
Cons: The dashboard functionality lacked the flexibility needed for more complex or customized reporting requirements. Making adjustments to layouts, visualizations, and data structures often felt restrictive, which limited the ability to tailor dashboards to evolving business needs. While the platform is strong for standard financial reporting, greater customization and adaptability within the dashboard environment would significantly improve the overall user experience.

Datarails has helped solve a lot of the inefficiencies that come with manual financial reporting and spreadsheet management. Before using the platform, a large amount of time was spent manually updating reports, consolidating data, and preparing dashboards. With Datarails, much of that process is automated, which has significantly improved efficiency and reduced manual input and the risk of human error. The dashboard visibility has also been a huge benefit because it allows leadership and stakeholders to quickly review financial performance, variances, cash flow, and budget information in a much more organized and user-friendly way. Overall, it has helped save time, improve reporting accuracy, and provide faster access to meaningful financial data for decision-making.
Pros: Datarails has been a valuable tool for improving financial reporting, dashboard visibility, and budgeting efficiency. The Excel integration makes it easy to work within familiar processes while still benefiting from automation and real-time insights. It has helped streamline board reporting, improve financial transparency, and save significant preparation time for our team.
Cons: Honestly, we have not experienced any major challenges with Datarails. The platform has been very helpful for financial reporting, dashboard visibility, and improving overall efficiency for our team. The integration with Excel and the ability to customize reporting has made the process smooth and user-friendly.

DataRails have been a very positive experience for me and the organization. It has really enhance our sophistication around budgeting and financial reporting. It has create many efficiencies for us to help focus more on the strategy part of financial analytics.
Pros: Datarails have been very helpful in supporting us provide more efficient financial reports and analysis to non financial users. The customer support has been amazing in responding timely and solving our questions/issues. The security is very solid and performance has been extremely reliable. The Drilldown feature is also very helpful for non financial users to get more details to their financial information.
Cons: The AI integration of the software can definitely be improved. I know that there are some AI feature in the works but it will take the produce to new heights if AI can be incorporated in forecasting and more process heavy tasks like budgeting.

It's been a game changer. Implementation was smooth and easy to understand and support is quick to respond to any issues.
Pros: The use of Excel and Powerpoint makes creating reports quick and easy to prepare. Month end reporting is quicker and more professional.
Cons: Nothing to dislike although it does make you want all the modules which then obviously comes at a cost!
Paul S. · Finance Director · Retail · May 6, 2026
Overall, my experience with Datarails has been very positive. It’s a powerful tool for FP&A teams looking to improve efficiency while still leveraging Excel. It has significantly streamlined reporting processes and improved data accuracy, making it a valuable addition to the finance function.
Pros: Datarails integrates seamlessly with Excel, which makes adoption very easy without needing to completely change existing models. The automation of data consolidation and reporting is a huge time saver, reducing manual work and risk of error. The ability to centralize data while still working in a familiar Excel environment is a standout feature. It also offers strong version control and audit trail capabilities, which are very helpful for finance teams.
Cons: At times, the system can feel slightly complex when setting up new reports or integrations, especially for first-time users. Some features require a bit of a learning curve to fully utilise, and performance can occasionally slow down with very large data sets.

Overall, my experience with Datarails has been positive. It has helped significantly with group consolidation across different data sources and made FP&A processes more centralized and efficient, especially by reducing manual Excel work. The platform is strong in automation, reporting, and bringing financial data together in one place. Features like AI-assisted custom columns and Excel-based workflows make it easy for finance teams to adapt quickly
Pros: Overall, the platform has been very helpful for our group consolidation across different databases, making FP&A processes more streamlined and centralized. I’d also like to highlight that our trainer, [sensitive content hidden], has been an excellent support and has provided wonderful training throughout the process
Cons: the dashboard in Datarails is limited because it doesn’t consistently support the same widgets for month-wise and cumulative views, which reduces flexibility in reporting
Anonymous User · financial analyst · Automotive · May 4, 2026
My experience is very positive. The onboarding process was well supported, any issue we encounter have always been rectified with the SLA. The people who I've dealt with have always been very knowledgeable.
Pros: Datarails is reliable and easy to use. It maintains our historical records and allows to report a single version of the truth.
Cons: We've had a few different people look after our account so I'd like to see a bit more continuity on that front. I understand the company is growing and opportunities for staff open up however I'd prefer not to be building up new working relationships every 6 months.
David G. · Financial Reporting Controller · Construction · May 1, 2026
it has been a great experience being able to connect financial and non financial data at the click of a button, its enhanced our reporting and forecasting capabilities
Pros: Data Integrity - knowing there is a single source of truth gives confidence in our reporting Refresh of reports - we build reports once and this has created efficiencies in delivering our reporting packs. KPI reporting - connecting financial and non financial data to tell the true story
Cons: Customer support only reply via email therefore this causes delays when there is probably an easy fix to an issue
Anonymous User · Commercial Finance Manager · Staffing and Recruiting · April 27, 2026
Pros: Datarails has been an impressive addition to our financial workflow, offering clarity where manual processes once created delays and blind spots. Its ability to pull together data from multiple sources and automate the heavy lifting has made it far easier to access accurate insights without the usual time pressure.
Cons: Creation of reports appears to be complex and I am not confident in doing this myself, but the support provided by the team at Datarails is fantastic and they offer step-by-step guidance to build the reports designed specifically for your business needs.
Alexandra D. · Director · Construction · April 21, 2026
[sensitive content hidden] was an excellent resource and great partner. He was super knowledgable and easy to get along with.
Pros: Seamless integration with Excel and intuitive setup and logic when building out financial reporting.
Cons: Certain inflexibility with multi-site logic. The filter function applying to an entire workbook, versus having ability to apply to singular sheet.
Drew R. · Director FPA · Health, Wellness and Fitness · April 1, 2026
Datarails is helping solve challenges around version control, manual consolidation, and lack of a single source of truth across our forecasting and reporting processes. Previously, we relied heavily on multiple Excel files with manual links, which created inefficiencies, increased risk of errors, and made it difficult to ensure consistency across outputs.
Pros: Datarails is helpful in bridging the gap between Excel-based workflows and a more centralized FP&A system. It allows us to maintain flexibility in our existing models while improving version control, collaboration, and data consistency. The integration with our accounting system and ability to automate reporting processes are also strong benefits, particularly for reducing manual consolidation and improving visibility across teams. Overall, it’s a good step toward standardizing our forecasting and reporting processes without fully disrupting how the team currently works.
Cons: The platform still requires significant setup and alignment to fully realize its value, particularly around data structure, dimensional consistency, and ownership of inputs. There are also limitations in handling more complex, highly customized models, which means we still rely heavily on Excel outside the system. Additionally, performance and usability can sometimes lag when working with larger datasets, and there is a learning curve for teams to adopt new workflows. More flexibility in modeling and clearer governance around data inputs would improve overall effectiveness.
Elizabeth L. · Finance Director · Renewables & Environment · March 31, 2026
Datarails is a solid solution for finance teams that want to modernize their FP&A processes without fully moving away from Excel. It strikes a good balance between automation and familiarity, allowing teams to improve efficiency while continuing to work in a tool they already understand.
Pros: Very Excel-friendly, which makes adoption easy for finance teams Short learning curve compared to traditional FP&A tools Saves time on manual data collection and version control Good flexibility for customizing reports without heavy IT involvement
Cons: No native web forms for data input, which limits collaboration with non-finance teams Heavy reliance on Excel formulas can make complex models harder to maintain Forecasting and scenario planning features are somewhat limited Occasional performance lag with large datasets
Hasnat G. · Operational Controller · Non-Profit Organization Management · March 31, 2026
Overall, my experience with Datarails has been overwhelmingly positive. It has significantly improved the efficiency and accuracy of our FP&A processes. Consolidation is faster, reporting is more reliable, and stakeholders trust the numbers because they know everything comes from a single, consistent source. The automation has reduced manual workload, while the dashboards provide quick, meaningful insight that supports decision-making. The combination of a strong platform and excellent support—particularly from [sensitive content hidden] —has made Datarails a major asset to our finance function. I’d highly recommend it to any team looking to modernise and streamline their financial reporting and analysis.
Pros: Datarails has completely transformed how we manage financial consolidation and reporting. The biggest advantage is having a true single source of truth, everything syncs seamlessly, and version control issues have essentially disappeared. The platform’s integration with Excel makes adoption incredibly smooth, and the automated consolidation workflows save significant time. Another major positive has been the implementation manager, [sensitive content hidden] , who has been exceptional throughout the process. He’s knowledgeable, responsive, and always willing to go the extra mile to help with setup, troubleshooting, or optimisation. His support made the on boarding process far easier and more efficient.
Cons: The main challenge lies with the data mapper. While powerful, it does take some time to fully understand how it works, especially when dealing with more complex data structures or mappings. The learning curve can be a bit steep and they've recently added an AI feature, which I haven't personally used yet but should help going forward.

Pros: Love the fact that we can now connect multiple platforms to Datarails and refresh all the data instantaneously for financial modeling and planning. [sensitive content hidden] was instrumental in making our implementation successful. Great support, thank you!
Cons: The implementation took a lot longer than anticipated due to some API connectivity issues between platforms and changes in the team

Great onboarding experience with [sensitive content hidden] who has been great in our training but also gone the extra mile in sharing his knowledge but also taking the time to help us resolve issues wiht our data and setup.
Pros: Intergration between Xero / Excel and the ability to be able to create dashboards and format data between systems to display in a informative format.
Cons: Xero issue mainly but the sync function limitations. Formuals blow my mind but our FP&A accountant has run with it!
Rich F. · Finance Director · Education Management · March 30, 2026
Pros: I like how intuitive and reliable the platform is. It makes managing data and tasks much easier, saving me time and effort.
Cons: Honestly, there’s very little to dislike. If anything, I’d just appreciate even more customization options in the future.
Jonathan David C. · Logistic support · Logistics and Supply Chain · March 27, 2026
It has been an enjoyable experience learning the Datarails systems. This has been made a lot easier through the excellent training of our onboarding Datarails representative, [sensitive content hidden]. I use the system everyday for reporting, along with building widgets within a number of different dashboards. Having most of our financial reports in one secure online environment has allowed for easier organisation. Being able to reach out for support from [sensitive content hidden] at any time has been really good, allowing us to work within the environment with confidence.
Pros: The easy use of the widgets and dashboard features. The widgets were easy to learn and build, and a great way of seeing quick insights to our data. These features have proved very useful when attending manager meetings as part of our month end process.
Cons: On the odd occasion I would be using a file downloaded from the web environment, but sometimes the submit feature would error. Sometimes I would need to save the file locally and upload manually through the web environment. Also the limitations of being able to manually sync data from Xero due to the token limits. This hasnt been a problem for the smaller entities which we can sync on demand.
Rhys M. · FPA Accountant · Child Day Care Services · March 27, 2026
It has been easy to navigate and update budget numbers onto Datarails. Real time numbers can be shared accross the department almost instantly.
Pros: All the budget numbers are on one worksheet and one dashboard, this makes it easier to view the overall budget numbers.
Cons: All updates to budget numbers require worksheet download and a submit. It would be helpful if Datarails can have a function to update numbers on the dashboard.

We have been using DataRails for over 5 years and use it daily for all of our financial reporting, and because of how much time it saves us, we definitely get our money's worth. It is a highly effective tool, provided your team commits to maintaining clean data mapping.
Pros: Having all of our data in one place - pulling from our ERP, data warehouses, and manual inputs - has been very useful and has significantly reduced the endless manual work the team used to do. There is little friction when setting up new inputs as the layout of the system is pretty user friendly. Files are read quickly by the system so we always have the latest data to hand in a few minutes. Setting up tables within excel is as easy and dragging and dropping your metrics in. We use DataRails daily for all of our financial reporting so we definitely make the most out of the price - customer support and online help is always quick to respond to any questions we have as well. AI integration is coming soon so we are excited to see the further insights it can bring.
Cons: If your data infrastructure isn’t set up or maintained properly, it can create a lot of confusion within the team. That often means spending extra time searching for the right metrics and, in the worst case, reporting the wrong numbers. It’s up to our team to keep the mapping airtight; otherwise, it can quickly turn into a headache when you have to go back and rework the data structure.
Edward B. · Financial Data Analyst · Consumer Goods · March 26, 2026
So far our experience has been positive. [sensitive content hidden] has been great at helping us navigate the set up. We're happy with the progress so far.
Pros: The Excel integration in Datarails makes it easy and feels familiar without changing our existing workflows. The integration with Xero has been going smoothly.
Cons: We’re still in the training and implementation phase, so there’s a bit of a learning curve. Some setup takes time as we align it with our current processes.
Mariana M. · Senior Accountant · Entertainment · March 25, 2026
Great time saver. Helps with complex analysis like PVM and has automated our budgeting. Our monthly financial package is a breeze to complete.
Pros: Great for FP&A and Financial reporting. The financial reporting package is automated, and our budgeting/forecasting cycles are efficient and accurate
Cons: A little more complex than originally thought. Data mapping and formulas can be cumbersome but if your experienced with Excel it should be no problem.
