We originally adopted Inventory Planner to fill Brightpearl’s lack of native assemblies before transitioning to its true strength in forecasting, and that’s where the software has proven its value. The platform rewards the time spent fine‑tuning lead times, days of stock, and forecasting models, and our implementation consultant was excellent in guiding us through the process. It also accommodated our more complex setup where transfers between two legal entities required both a purchase order and a corresponding sales order to flow between systems, and Inventory Planner provided the controls needed to ensure those orders were excluded from demand forecasting so they didn’t distort actual sales trends. Once configured, Inventory Planner effectively replaced Brightpearl’s limited forecasting tools and became our primary workflow for building purchase orders before pushing them into Brightpearl.
Pros: Inventory Planner offers highly granular forecasting tools that let you tailor algorithms, seasonality settings, stockout corrections, wholesale‑exclusion logic, and even per‑warehouse lead times at the product level, which makes it extremely powerful once you dial in the right parameters. Its integration with Brightpearl is flexible enough to support complex workflows—such as excluding intercompany transfers between different legal entities from forecasting—so the data stays clean, and once everything is configured, creating purchase orders in Inventory Planner and pushing them to Brightpearl becomes a smooth, reliable process.
Cons: When we initially used Inventory Planner for assemblies—a secondary feature—it had a couple of limitations with the Brightpearl integration: assemblies always picked component inventory using FIFO with no way to override location choice, and there was no simple way to break down an assembly without manual adjustments. Outside of assemblies, the platform’s depth does come with a learning curve, and while support eventually resolved a reproducible UI bug we reported, they only prioritized it after escalation.

Pros: Works well, saves valuable time and provides good insights, it has improved our inventory management for sure.
Cons: It is on the higher price range even though it still is the best software, some small details of features to improve but their team is constantly working to improve the software.

Extremely easy to get lost within the data in a good way, find ourselves spending hours reviewing the data points for products and categories and showing us the areas that are working and the ranges that arent. Has become one of our go to tools for all things reporting.
Pros: Inventory planner has become the key piece of software for our purchasing department, it is used multiple times a day and has proven itself to be versatile and capable
Cons: Cost forecast, could do with having FIFO forecasting and having the ability to have tags by variant/child versus product/parent level.

Pros: Inventory Planner by Sage has become an important part of how we manage stock and purchasing. It gives us reliable demand forecasting and helps us plan inventory more accurately, which has reduced stockouts and excess stock. The interface makes it easy to see what we need to reorder and when, which saves time compared with manual spreadsheets.
Cons: There’s a short adjustment period to understand all the settings and forecasting options, once we had it configured it quickly became a valuable tool for planning. The insights into trends and reorder recommendations have helped us make better purchasing decisions and stay lean without compromising availability. Overall, Inventory Planner has improved our inventory visibility and made planning much more manageable.

Overall a good experience. Online help is very good and generally you can resolve issues very quickly.
Pros: It is great to see all the sales forecast in one place. We are continually learning how inventory planner works and continually optimising it
Cons: The planning board could be bigger and sometimes you need to go to several different screens to find out the information.

Inventory Planner has become a core system in our purchasing process. It helps us prevent stockouts, avoid over-purchasing, and maintain healthy inventory levels. The forecasting accuracy is strong, and the platform allows us to turn insights into purchase orders quickly. It saves us hours each week and gives us confidence in our ordering decisions. For an e-commerce company dealing with international suppliers and long lead times, Inventory Planner has been a major operational improvement.
Pros: Inventory Planner gives us a clear and reliable forecasting framework that makes purchasing significantly easier. The interface is intuitive, and the tool provides actionable insights rather than just raw data. Creating and reviewing replenishment recommendations is fast, and the system helps us confidently manage stock levels across many SKUs and suppliers. It has noticeably reduced guesswork and improved the efficiency of our small purchasing team.
Cons: A few reports could load faster when working with large datasets, and certain bulk-edit features would make workflow even smoother. Overall, these are minor issues compared to the value the tool provides.

I consider it a very useful tool if you need to centralize multiple sales channels and warehouses. We also use this tool to forecast the annual production plan and the monthly replenishment we need.
Pros: We can centralize all our channel information within a single tool. It also allows us to easily input replenishment needs for our products.
Cons: Limited flexibility in customs reports, which may make it harder to adapt to specific market or regulatory requirements. Reports may not be easily understandable for employees who don't use the tool on a daily basis, potentially causing confusion or requiring extra training.

Being in the smartphone accessories - retail and e-commerce segment, replenishment used to take a whole lot of time and effort, since we have to deal with thousands of items to restock periodically. Replenishment tool makes this joyful. More over we have reduced overstock to the vast extent of our inventory and we are able to elimanate stock outs, given that the suppliers have no stock outs on their side. Support team is always available to help, which is a great reassurnace, especially when begining to use Inventory Planner. A plus in the business productivity scale, once you start using it, you can't do with out it!
Pros: Replenishment tools makes restocking almost instant. We have been using it since November 2020 and has become the ultimate everyday tool for us.
Cons: As all great tools you have to invest some time to get a hold of all each features. Support team though is always instantly responding!

Overall, I would say that the software is fantastic and has allowed us to scale with efficiency. It has also allowed us to onboard new brands with confidence knowning we can expand without putting too much cash in slower moving inventory.
Pros: The implementation is very easy with almost a few clicks and your datat begins to pull through. It has allowed us to correctly forecast the stock required for the given lead time and days of stock which we require which has meant that our out of stock days on items has reduced dramatically and also allows us not to overstock.
Cons: The only issue that we have had is that sometimes the reports do not work out of the box so some configuration on the data is required in order to get the information that you require.
Dipesh P. · Managing Director · Retail · October 13, 2025
It's been well, but tweaks are needed from time to time. It's good for a small business or one that is just starting up.
Pros: Does a good job when sales are consistent. The data algorithm is mostly well put together. I would suggest messaging through chat for email.
Cons: Struggles w/ the ability to handle sales anomalies. It's hard to dial in the exact qty that you need to reorder from time to time.

Inventory Planner is a valuable and reliable tool that streamlines stock order management, improves accuracy, and supports more effective planning. Combined with its ease of use and strong support, it is an essential part of our workflow.
Pros: Inventory Planner is easy to use and makes creating and managing stock orders seamless. Reporting is clear, fast to load, and provides useful insights for planning. The definitions page and support chat offer quick access to helpful guidance. Overall, it saves time and simplifies the stock management process.
Cons: A few small improvements could enhance the platform, such as the ability to create shared filters for stock order views accessible to the whole team. It would also be beneficial if reports could be downloaded with images instead of links, and if invoices could be attached directly to stock orders. These are minor issues but would add extra value.

We had an easy time setting the system up. There was excellent training that was interactive. I had great customer support via the chat when I was struggling with a report. The system has taken over multiple spreadsheets by multiple people. We are saving so much time, and forecasting even more accurately.
Pros: I can forecast inventory more accurately and it's easy to use. I can run reports quickly and tailor them to what I need on the fly.
Cons: That I didn't have it sooner! The only issues we have experienced is ensuring everyone understands the difference between vendor and brand. Our systems didn't quite match so we needed an easier way to resolve it.
Paige P. · General Manager of Operations · Retail · September 11, 2025
Pros: The customer support has been incredible, both in response time and quality of help. No chatbots in sight, don't change this! Particular shout outs to [sensitive content hidden]
Cons: It can be a little confusing with all the connections but you get used to it. It is very self serve based, although the glossary page is a real help.

Overall a good experience and complimentary to our other inventory management systems. Customer service is top notch, very quick and comprehensive support.
Pros: Responsive customer service and user friendly platform. We came across from Cin7 which was missing a few key features we needed that IP had.
Cons: Forecasting algorithm still needs some improving however we are working with IP to hopefully get this perfect soon. Quite pricey but if we can resolve the issues I would confidently say it was worth it.
Hangatu W. · CEO · Retail · August 10, 2025
Pros: I am still learning the ins and outs of inventory Planner but I had a very helpful interaction with their customer service. They took the time to figure out the issue I was experiencing as well as help me to interpret and diagnose the underlying causes for future cases.
Cons: Understanding error messages given by inventory planner is not the most intuitive. While I understood the basis of what was causing the error, I had no way of identifying the specifics of the error without first reaching out to customer service. Now with their help, I will be able to address these same issues on my own if they occur in the future.

Using Inventory Planner has brought a real sense of clarity and control to our business. The platform helped us make confident, data-backed decisions across inventory, forecasting, and even marketing support. It’s given us back time, improved our profitability, and made planning feel a lot less overwhelming.
Pros: Absolutely worth every dollar. Inventory Planner has been a game-changer for our business — the value for money is exceptional. It’s intuitive and easy to use, and has streamlined our inventory management, data analysis, and even marketing planning. A special shoutout to [sensitive content hidden], our account manager, who has been incredibly helpful and responsive whenever we’ve needed support. The customer service, especially via email, is top-notch and genuinely supportive. Highly recommend for any growing e-commerce business looking to take the guesswork out of planning.
Cons: I'm in Australia so setting up a video call sometimes is a challenge due to the time difference, there are times when a call would be quicker than an email but not a deal breaker for us.

Good. I don't update IP with all the data it requires, but I use it to suggest re-order levels and I view at every line and then decide.
Pros: It allows me to efficiently place orders with multiple columns populated in my spreadsheet at once. It makes good suggestion that I then edit.
Cons: Managing the data, but it is only as good as that data. Sometimes the suggested re-orders levels are wildly wrong because I haven't populated the data sufficiently, hence why I check every line.
Joseph S. · Managing Director · Retail · July 25, 2025
We’ve been using Inventory Planner for over a year, and it has consistently proven to be a powerful tool for demand forecasting and stock replenishment. It handles complex multi-supplier environments with ease—we manage over 3,000 SKUs across 20+ suppliers—and its predictive models have notably increased our ordering precision. A key advantage is the ability to import external data via Google Sheets, enabling us to implement custom logic and accommodate edge-case workflows that fall outside the scope of built-in connectors. The reporting capabilities are comprehensive, with flexible filters and export functions that facilitate in-depth analysis. Since adopting the platform, we’ve streamlined our procurement processes and significantly reduced excess inventory.
Pros: 1. Custom Integration Flexibility: Supports external data feeds via Google Sheets, allowing custom workflows beyond built-in connectors. 2. Scalable Replenishment Planning: Effectively manages complex demand forecasting across thousands of SKUs and multiple suppliers, reducing overstock and saving time.
Cons: Custom Feed Performance: While the ability to use Google Sheets for custom data feeds is valuable, the sync process can be slow for large datasets. A direct database integration feed would offer better performance and scalability.

We signed up to Inventory Planner to improve forecasting and stock supply for a retail location, ecommerce store and Amazon FBA. Previously all of this work was done in spreadsheets, but rapid business expansion and an increase in suppliers made this process increasingly laborious. Inventory Planner has greatly assisted us, leading to few stock-outs and the ability to better deal with surges in customer demand.
Pros: Required replenishment is automatically flagged based on historical demand, making it easy to identify the lines which need some attention. Forecasts are accurate and the per-SKU 'dashboard' summarises a lot of information in one place. PO creation is quick and very customisable. The overstock feature gives us a steer on which lines require some promotion.
Cons: Having mastered the basics, there's a sense that we could be getting more out of the system. But there's no clear path to achieving that without sitting through hours and hours of webinars in the hope of spotting the nuggets of information we'd find useful. Some of the UX in product/bundle setup isn't as intuitive as it could be.
James B. · Director · Retail · July 23, 2025
Pros: Forecasting purchasing figures for products. It replaces manual work previously done using spreadsheets.
Cons: The price increases since Sage took over. Niggling issues with full sync not working and having to click on a very specific area on the product row to open it.
James W. · Director · Food & Beverages · July 21, 2025
Pros: Replenishment functionality. Great for making your stock work in the most effective & lean way, improving overall efficiency & cash flow
Cons: some of the user interfaces are to cluttered with almost too many metrics. However everything is customisable and can be saved to preference.
Reece B. · Manager · Retail · July 21, 2025
Pros: Helps with omni-channel visibility into sales velocity and stock in one easy dashboard, which has given our team a much better handle on demand forecasting.
Cons: The integration process is confusing when everything is framed from a "Warehouse" perspective. Connecting a Shopify and Amazon store creates another warehouse, even though we handle fulfillment at several separate locations, thus needing to specify what information to pipe in for each.
Dan T. · Creative Director · Apparel & Fashion · July 17, 2025
Pros: What I appreciated the most was its simplicity and ease of use. The user interface is well-designed and intuitive, allowing me to quickly understand the core features without needing much onboarding. This helped improve efficiency and reduced the time spent figuring out how to perform day-to-day tasks like inventory forecasting and planning.
Cons: Some features can be a bit hard to find at first, but once you get familiar with the system, it becomes much easier to use. It would be great if the help articles could be more concise and straightforward — that would save some time when looking things up.

Coming from Lightspeed, inventory Planner is a lot more sophistacated and a has a lot of tools to help manage stock holding and trends
Pros: auto notifications, selling insigts. Once set up notfications will flag when items are due to be ordered or if selling faster than anticipated. Also able to dial down into stock that needs a push.
Cons: Does take some getting used to navigation but gets easier with more use. The filters and multiple location views are a little confusing to begin with but with more use become second nature.
Dinesh V. · Finance Manager · Retail · July 15, 2025
Good. I have used this software for a year now, and have just renewed our contract, due to the product working well for our business needs.
Pros: Overall product is very good for our business needs. We did have initial teething problems, which were quickly rectified by the team to ensure the forecast works better for us. Additionally, my account managers [sensitive content hidden] have only ever been helpful, and have guided me along the way with anything I was unsure on.
Cons: Missing some aspects to provide better forecasting (e.g, ignoring periods where an item is in the sale thus falsely inflating R.O.S, or ability to deduct smaller PI's from a larger one).
