It's fine. If you need a reviews platform with decent UGC tools and want something that plays nicely with Shopify, it gets the job done. But if you're expecting a true all-in-one that replaces your ESP or a proper loyalty program, it falls short.
Pros: Reviews and UGC collection works well out of the box. The Shopify integration is clean and the on-site display widgets are easy to set up. Having reviews, loyalty, and SMS under one roof is appealing on paper, and the review request automation is reliable.
Cons: The platform tries to do too much and doesn't fully nail any of it. SMS is not competitive with dedicated tools.

Great experience. Easy to use. Works quickly. Affordable. Also, it's nice that you can adjust the number of orders you'd like to have reviewed which helps with seasonality.
Pros: Very easy to use. Just read reviews that customer make and make a comment as a response. Also, good flexibility with options.
Cons: To opt out of having a review go live you have to log into the website, you can't just select that from the emails they send.

I had a really great experience with Yotpo in the beginning. Their integration was easy and the analytics were great.
Pros: Yotpo was very easy to implement and I liked that it integrated with the rest of my marketing stack. It was also very affordable for the size of the company we were at the time.
Cons: Soon after I integrated most of my marketing stack over to Yotpo, they started sunsetting things. First, it was subscriptions, then email/SMS. I started using Yotpo because it was an all-in-one, and this ended up forcing me to leave to find a better solution for all of the above.

Pros: Easy set up and use and good value for money. Any time had issues customer service/chat was quick to help.
Cons: Other apps started getting more features and just overall looked better. I believe if i remember correct Yotpo pricing started increasing a lot too compared to others

Yotpo had a really great sales pitch, promised us the world - However during integration they duplicated points in users accounts, not as many customizations as promised, and it's super expensive
Pros: The reporting was very efficient, you could drill down into a customer portfolio and see all the earned/spent points at any given time. You have the ability to pull multiple variations of reports
Cons: It is extremely expensive, they promised the world and really underdelivered. We were not able to customize like they said in sales pitch.

Pros: Basically the number 1 review software, integrates well with our CRM and makes it easy to take action
Cons: The integration for replying to user questions submitted via Yotpo x Gorgias in particular is a bit clunky

I wanted to install yotpo on my shopify store, and play with it for 2 weeks before I wanted to commit to it, but i was not able to find a trial plan for it.
Pros: It promises to be super easy to install on my shopify store in order to start collecting reviews. I do like the idea that it can be customized, and can coordinate with marketing tools (like if i wanted to send an sms or email marekting blast).
Cons: I think that it's expensive. a price of $79 for only 500 orders is a bit high, there are other tools that do exactly the same thing for less, I would have preferred a "starter" version or even a trial version.

We integrated with a custom e-commerce and website platform which had its challenges. We also had issues with international markets as some of the copy which appears on site is hard coded in English. However, after lots more back and forth than expected we were able to get the refer a friend scheme live.
Pros: Easy to set up (particularly if integrated with Shopify) Good availability of customer support (though the actual support was a bit hit and miss) Good core functionality
Cons: Basic editor for on-site pop-ups Limited reporting functionality Awkward to integrate with e-commerce platforms which aren't Shopify Can't generate test emails populated with dynamic data - have to put through a live order instead to see the whole journey

Overall we enjoy using yotpo, we have yet to find another company that beats the price and offers everything that yotpo does. This is a daily/weekly tool that we use, and crucial to our review and ratings on our website. Creates an easy trust worthy face for your company.
Pros: Yotpo customer service/support is top notch, helps problem solve and helps build flows and will check your work to ensure it shows on the customers end the way you want it to. Lots of customization tools that work for any business big or small. Easy review/question widgets, these can be added almost anywhere on your website. Integration to shopify is seamless, easy to navigate. customer segments are easy to create to send SMS/email marketing to a curated set group is made super simple, and easy. Scheduling marketing sms or email is seamless and easy to understand. yearly and annual reviews with your account manager to ensure you are getting enough out of yotpo compared to what you are putting in, also helps ensure that you are using all that yotpo offers that you are already paying for. You can pick which reviews hit your website and if one is bad and needs further escalation it will let you reach out to the reviewer by email to solve the issue and ask them to re-review.
Cons: sometimes there is a slow load times when switching through product features, i like to think that yotpo is holding so much of our store data and analytics that it takes a minute to open a new page within yotpo. this is not a huge con but has made certain tasks longer.

Pros: It’s pretty straightforward and provides some good idea. Ideas for scripted messages.
Cons: Customer service generally isn’t great but the product is solid
Orion B. · Founder · Consumer Goods · March 10, 2025
Positive, though was spending far too much. Then covid hit and they brought their entry prices down dramatically. Staff were really helpful. It's really good software. It gets you reviews.
Pros: The software works really well. The support is good. It's probably the best out there on the market.
Cons: The cost, and the language issue. (Not being able to translate)
Charles A. · Creative Director · Cosmetics · February 27, 2025
We had a decent experience overall with Yotpo. We got up and running relatively quickly and worked out a lot of kinks early on.
Pros: Yotpo had some nice subscription management features and many integrations that worked well with our company
Cons: There were too many bugs and things breaking.
Albert R. · Customer Care Expert · Consumer Goods · February 20, 2025
Mid, a bit buggy and not worth the cost for us, quite low response rate
Pros: It was simple, easy to install and had a user friendly UI
Cons: To pricey for what it offered and its censor/filter was horrible in sweden
Pelle B. · Growth Manager · Building Materials · January 17, 2025
Good, not worth the price we paid and we moved on to Lipscore instead
Pros: Simplicity, well done integrations with Shopify and Klaviyo among others
Cons: Very performance heavy on site, very little customization as well as the lack of ratings
Fabian L. · E-Commerce Manager · Building Materials · January 7, 2025
Overall, Yotpo has been a good partner and allowed us to try out a lot of strategies with a single software provider. They're priced relatively competitively and will allow you to explore various marketing and user experience solutions to see if they're a good match for your business.
Pros: Yotpo provides a set of best practice softwares that have been valuable for us as a DTC eCommerce business. Their review collection software is robust and one of the few that's able to syndicate out to the Bazaarvoice Network. It's cheaper to collect on Yotpo, rather than use the BV review collection software. Their UGC platform is a solid mid-grade solution to curate and display various social media content on our product display pages. Their SMS platform is competitive, but not revolutionary and allows for decent integration with Klaviyo. Their loyalty program is decent and allows SMB to offer a turnkey solution that will drive higher lifetime engagement with our biggest spending customers. They have tons of offerings and we are able to bundle together several of them to save on our contracts.
Cons: The ability to have multiple products and services under a single brand is a double edge sword. While they're all "Yotpo" we do have a different account rep for each piece of software, leading to some fragmentation on our overall strategy and execution. Their software solutions are very much a one size fits all approach, which if you're a small e-commerce store, is great to get started, but for more custom implementations and solutions, you need to either push their internal teams, or do it yourself.

Not that good. Used their reviews a few years ago, and SMS until last month or so. Nothing is great, just meh.
Pros: SMS feature. Mostly been using that recently but it was also a bit too buggy.
Cons: The pricing and how they try to do everything, but end up doing nothing great.
Marcus K. · Marketing · Cosmetics · December 26, 2024
Pros: Excellent integration with our Shopify ecommerce store, works really well to reward repeat customers and drive customer loyalty automatically
Cons: sometimes customers don't like extra emails from the service
Owen C. · MD · Consumer Goods · November 8, 2024
Been using for over 2 years and it's a great platform overall
Pros: Easy and convenient access to website features
Cons: Some synchronizations are not the best and lately there has been a lot of problems with login
Larissa M. · Graphic Designer · Packaging and Containers · October 28, 2024
Pros: Yotpo makes full stack marketing 100% easier - The email functionality is my favourite part.
Cons: Nothing really - It's a fantastic tool that should be used by all brands!
Xavier C. · Founder · Food & Beverages · October 22, 2024
We've worked with Yotpo for 10 years and are very happy with their services!
Pros: We love the ease of collecting reviews, as well as their shoppable UGC and SMS solutions.
Cons: We've had a few small logistics issues comes up on the Yotpo visual side, although we have collected quite a lot of images over the years which could have contibuted.
Stephanie D. · VP of Marketing · Retail · August 9, 2024
Pros: very easy to use, customizable, the analytics are easy to read and track . Services are affordable
Cons: I don't have any cons from using the Yotpo app
Jarah M. · holistic nutritionist · Alternative Medicine · July 4, 2024
I love this review app. I have used others and this one is better and cheaper than those I've tried. It's so easy to set it all up and massively important for social proof.
Pros: So easy to set up automations with Shopify so that each time a customer makes a pruchase they are automatically sent a review request after a certain period
Cons: Can be a bit slow, and the inability to import reviews from other marketplaces and websites (i.e. Etsy, Google, Amazon, Trustpilot) automatically makes it a slow manual process - through which you can only upload product (not site) reviews.
Jo-Ann N. · Owner · Retail · November 29, 2023
I've been pretty satisfied overall. Plus Yotpo has many other apps that intergrate well.
Pros: This app is very functional for the proce. I've used some more expensive ones, but Yotpo does everything those do for less $$$. I like the simplicity of the platform and find the customer service extrememly helpful.
Cons: I wish there was a way to custimize my reveiw emails a little more.
Anonymous User · Owner · Apparel & Fashion · November 24, 2023
Pros: I did not like my experience with them. They overcharge and far underdeliver. They are all about sales.
Cons: YOTPO was a complete disappointment and is not recommended. The birthday discount feature is a chaotic mess, causing issues with pricing, dates, and customer service. Support tickets lack basic functionality, the support portal is a security disaster, they sent me a login to a a rep, not a customer, and then just swept it under the rug. Contribution reports are unreliable. Their team even confirmed this! Their admin interfaces are a nightmare to navigate. If it was free the user interface would be terrible. For $$$$ is a joke! Too many confusing reps. A dumpster fire of code in the web reviews widget make matters worse. YOTPO's impact on site speed has been detrimental. The promised platform synergies are meh. SMS Bump is a usability disaster. Meetings with their team are a waste of time. Other platforms have proven to be far more beneficial, while YOTPO has only added frustration, complexity, and countless hours of troubleshooting. Avoid YOTPO at all costs.
Philip G. · Owner · Restaurants · November 18, 2023
