Overall, my experience with Backlog has been positive. It is a reliable and straightforward project management tool that helps teams stay organized and collaborate efficiently. It is especially useful for teams that want a simple, no-overcomplicated system for managing tasks, issues, and files. With a few improvements in advanced features and reporting, it could be even better.
Pros: Backlog is very easy to use and well-suited for project and task management, especially for small to mid-sized teams. The interface is clean and intuitive, making it simple to track tasks, manage deadlines, and collaborate with team members. I particularly liked how issues, milestones, and files can be organized in one place, which helps keep projects structured. The learning curve is low, so new users can start working quickly without much training. It also offers good value for money compared to many other project management tools.
Cons: While Backlog works well for basic and intermediate project management, it can feel limited for very large or complex projects. Some advanced features and integrations available in other tools are missing. The UI, although simple, could be more modern, and reporting options could be improved with more customization.

Cons: The user interface feels a bit dated compared to newer tools like Linear or Monday.com. Also, the mobile app is functional but lacks some of the advanced features available on the desktop version.

It was a learning experience, where I got to become familiar with project tools that are valuable for supporting the development of project deliverables
Pros: I liked the accessibility to project tools that enabled me to generate project outcomes for my group in a easy file format that could be shared.
Cons: The website's interface was visually appealing, making it easier to identify elements needed to complete project tasks as a user.

It is no-frills task management. Easy to use and learn for everyone. It does the basics, but gets them right. It is not super customizable, but at the same time that makes it easy to manage.
Pros: It is simple and to the point. No fancy things, just task management. The plans are affordable, and it's easy to get started for anyone.
Cons: A little more customizability to add, remove or rename certain categories would be great. Can be long to input information with multiple clicks required.

Overall, my experience with Backlog has been very positive. It is a reliable and efficient tool for managing projects, tasks, and team collaboration. It helps keep work organized, deadlines clear, and communication transparent. For teams looking for a simple yet powerful project management solution, Backlog is a great choice. It offers good value for money and works well for both technical and non-technical teams.
Pros: Backlog is very easy to use and practical for daily task and project management. I really like how clean and simple the interface is, even for beginners. Creating tasks, assigning them to team members, setting deadlines, and tracking progress is smooth and well organized. The collaboration features like comments, file sharing, and version control help keep everything in one place. It saves time and improves team coordination, especially for small and mid-sized teams.
Cons: Some advanced features feel limited in the basic plans, and reporting options could be more detailed. Occasionally, the learning curve for new users can be a bit slow if they are not familiar with project management tools. Also, mobile app performance can be improved for better speed and smoother navigation.

I really enjoyed being able to organize tasks for my team in a place where they could all view it clearly.
Pros: I liked the ability to organize my backlog for my team well and found good value for my money. I found there to be a small learning curve.
Cons: I dont know how well customer service is because i didnt use it for anything throughout my project so its not really a bad thing yet.

Backlog by Nulab is a project management and development collaboration tool that feels straightforward and practical. It combines task tracking, bug reporting, and documentation with built-in Git/SVN repositories, so teams can manage both project work and code in one place. Most people find it easy to pick up and reliable for day-to-day work, especially for software teams that want clear visibility into tasks and issues without a lot of complexity. Its strengths are simplicity, integrated collaboration features, and good support for Agile workflows. At the same time, it isn’t the flashiest tool on the market — some users feel the interface looks a bit dated, and advanced reporting or customization isn’t as flexible as in some competing tools. In human terms: it’s solid and dependable for getting work done, but it won’t wow you with bells and whistles.
Pros: Simple, easy-to-use interface with solid issue tracking and good Git/Wiki integration. Hope everyone
Cons: Limited reporting andd customization, and the UX/UI feels somewhat outdated compared to newer tools.

Overall I am relieved I no longer have to switch back and forth between WhatsApp and Google Drive. It makes sure that both the frontend and backend developers do not bug me about SOPs, since everything is simply available in one location.
Pros: We've used Backlog with moderate success up until we had many times more users, well this has done that same as of today but now I don't have to explain to each teacher what it is they're doing. That's cool, I didn't even have to send a techie in to install the whole system.
Cons: Although the mobile app is very difficult to use and has serious lag problems. I absolutely detest the fact that you cannot remove a Channel if you created it within a Space or Folder (which is kind of ridiculous). And I also think it is silly that I cannot enable my Camera for Clips.

Overall, my experience with Backlog has been positive. It is easy to use, reliable, and well-suited for teams that want straightforward project and task management without unnecessary complexity. The low learning curve, strong collaboration features, and integrated issue tracking make it effective for day-to-day work, especially for small to mid-sized teams. While it lacks some advanced customization and reporting features, it delivers consistent performance and good value for money.
Pros: Backlog offers great value for money with a balanced set of features at a reasonable cost. Its customer support is responsive and backed by clear documentation, making issue resolution easy. The platform has a very low learning curve due to its clean and intuitive interface, allowing teams to get started quickly. Project and team collaboration are seamless with centralized task tracking, real-time updates, comments, and notifications that keep everyone aligned. Task management is efficient with clear priorities, statuses, milestones, and deadlines. While employee management is basic, the user roles and access controls are sufficient for managing teams effectively within projects.
Cons: What I liked least about Backlog is the limited customization and reporting options. Advanced analytics, dashboards, and workflow customization are fairly basic compared to some competitors. Employee management features are minimal, and the UI, while clean, can feel slightly dated for power users who need deeper insights and automation.

Overall, my experience with Backlog has been positive. It’s a reliable tool for managing projects and keeping teams aligned. It works especially well for small to medium-sized teams that want a simple, no-frills way to organize tasks and track progress without feeling overwhelmed.
Pros: Backlog is very easy to use and doesn’t have a steep learning curve. The interface is clean and organized, which makes it simple to track tasks, bugs, and project progress. I also like how issues, comments, and file sharing are all in one place, making team collaboration straightforward.
Cons: Occasionally, I experience login issues on the mobile app, where I’m unable to sign in. This doesn’t happen often, but it can be inconvenient when accessing projects on the go.
Ann J. · Backend Developer · Information Technology and Services · December 17, 2025
Backlog is a solid and dependable solution for managing projects and teamwork, but there is room for improvement in performance, flexibility, and advanced functionality.
Pros: What I liked least about Backlog was its limited customization and reporting features. The interface is clean but can feel rigid, and advanced analytics or workflow customization are not as flexible as some competing project management tools. Additionally, integrations and automation options are somewhat limited, which can slow down more complex team processes.
Cons: Outdated interface – The UI feels less modern compared to tools like Jira, ClickUp, or Asana. Limited customization – Workflows, fields, and views aren’t as flexible for complex projects. Basic reporting – Lacks advanced analytics and detailed performance reports. Search can be slow or clunky – Especially in large projects with many issues. Limited automation – Few built-in automations compared to competitors. Scaling challenges – Works well for small to mid-size teams, but can feel restrictive for larger teams. Mobile app limitations – Not as powerful or smooth as the desktop version. Integrations are fewer – Compared to Jira or ClickUp, integration options are limited.

I was the first to use backlog and now 2 other departments have their own Kanban boards. Our backlog app is very popular.
Pros: Very easy to use. In almost no time all the developers started using the tool and after a week or 2 we passed the 100 issues.
Cons: No app in on prem version. We build it ourself. The support to build the app was very high level and could be better.

Overall, Backlog is a multi-function and flexible tool that helps teams collaborate and manage projects effectively. In short, Back log was good because it could be customized to adjust the workflow according to the needs of the team and respond flexibly to various projects.
Pros: The best thing about using the backlog was "User-friendly interface" which provides an intuitive design that is easily accessible to users without a technical background.
Cons: In my opinion, the interface felt a little outdated. Also when reviewing the entire request, the lack of capability to see the number of changed code lines is a little bit disappointed.

i set up a account with the free package, and i will say it was a smooth easy process. i did see lacking features other companies offer for free and then some which is why i gave the eight star rating. its nice when software is made available especially free that has everything one needs in one spot.
Pros: easy to use free plan available, which i have, and integrates seamlessly with my other apps, such as Slack. great to keep track of different projects ongoing
Cons: less features available than that of other free software operations, which will be my only downfall theres too much competition today to not even on the free plans, offer more features and make it more compatible with other software

I'm so glad to find such a simple yet efficient backlog software, having very basic use cases free for personal usage.
Pros: Clean UI, following best UX principles, flawless.
Cons: No links between tickets. Good to have a feature, like in Jira, to create associations with other tickets, e.g. "blocked by", "relates to", etc.

My experience so far is good. I Appreciate the system. Backlog is useful and it can really help to simplify the process within the organization and can monitor the task which is very essential in the organiztation.
Pros: Team collaboration. It really helps with managing task within the organization and very useful because most of the team is working from home, we just need to use the backlog to monitor our progress in different projects.
Cons: Maybe can try improving some layouts. The ticketing feature in Backlog is needs to be enhance. Also, need to register all members so that they can send an email for support and etc.

Pros: What I like most about Backlog is how it simplifies the process of submitting IT tickets. It makes reporting issues easy and efficient, ensuring that all requests are tracked and addressed in an organized manner. It also allows us to follow the status of our submissions, which helps improve communication and transparency within our team
Cons: I don't have any cons at this time. Backlog has been working well for my needs, especially in managing IT-related tickets and issues efficiently.
