Automating your patch management means that all OS and third party applications (e.g. Adobe, Chrome, and Slack) will be automatically updated and protected against known vulnerabilities. The process involves automating how devices are scanned, inventoried, and updated. The system should identify all applications and missing patches to then download the latest patch updates released by the application vendors.

If you're looking for just a patching solution for your Windows and macOS devices then Automox is a very good solution. It does allow you to automate and schedule scripts and app deployment as well. It works as expected but it doesn't provide much of any other functions.
Pros: Works with Windows and macOS devices. Supports operating system patches as well as with 3rd party software (slack, zoom, chrome, etc.). UI is easy to navigate and use. Has a native remote support tool that you can add on to. You do have the ability to deploy scripts and applications.
Cons: Can be slightly on the pricier side for a platform that is strictly just used for Windows and macOS patching. There's a native remote support tool built in as well which works okay. And you don't get much device insight/information other than what is related to patching.

It is a very reliable tool that saves our team a lot of time by keeping all our remote computers safe and updated automatically.
Pros: It automates updates for Windows, Mac, and Linux very well. It saves us a lot of manual work every week.
Cons: The search and reporting pages are sometimes slow to load. It can be hard to find specific data quickly.

Very happy with the deployment, the functionality and cost. The results have been fantastic and with the level of detail we have been able to apply we are in the best place we have been in a very long time.
Pros: Simplicity, the scope it gives me to manage our estates patch and OS is simple and effective. Easy to setup and quickly deployed to the business. Compared to other products was great value for money and allowed us to configure to our needs.
Cons: The lack of integration with Jira and teams is disappointing for us as we use these predominantly for our service management,

Overall experience is very promising and very much satisfied. I will recommend to all of my friends and companies.
Pros: Powerful updates management tool. Easy to use and deploy software and applications. Easy for device management.
Cons: I struggled sometime like while deploying a file to users computer. I was trying to deploy a file to users computer which i struggled a lot

I did a proof-of-concept product evaluation of Automox in November of 2023. We we're looking to replace a competitors product called "Patch My PC". Hands down it was a superior Patch Management product replacement.
Pros: Automox allows you to patch various operating systems using one application, making updates easier across different environments. It greatly cuts down the time needed for patch management, reducing the time spent on each machine from 15-30 minutes to just a few minutes, which saves many hours each month. The ability to create custom tools and the strong reporting features are very useful, supporting daily IT management and compliance during audits. Automox has significantly lowered the number of man-hours required for patching, potentially saving hundreds of hours. Managing updates and exclusions of patches on specific machines, like servers that need a certain version of Java, is straightforward, improving operational efficiency.
Cons: Seriously nothing comes to mind. It's just works like its marketed as such. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for an effective Patch Management tool.

Our IT team at Nevro used Automox to manage endpoints both on-premises and remote, across different departments and geographic regions. It helped streamline patching compliance and gave us much-needed visibility into device health. The platform’s flexibility and automation capabilities were especially helpful during remote work when devices were off the corporate network. Support was responsive and product updates were frequent and useful.
Pros: Automox made patch management and endpoint configuration across a hybrid environment much more efficient. The cloud-native platform was easy to deploy and significantly reduced manual overhead. We were able to automate Windows patching, enforce security baselines, and even push scripts to remote laptops without relying on VPN. The UI was clean, intuitive, and responsive. The automation and policy scheduling options were extremely useful in an enterprise environment.
Cons: The scripting console could be more robust when managing large fleets—some logging and error output formatting could be improved for easier debugging. Also, it would be great to see more built-in integrations with platforms like Intune or CrowdStrike for richer context.

Amazing! I am a apprentice learning this as I go but having even the remote option in case someone needs help working from home is so helpful.
Pros: Doing the patching and having a clear dashboard on what I need to see, what devices I need to patch on what is critical and needs doing.
Cons: Nothing so far, but sometimes does come up with issues that not sure on but customer support is amazing to help with these issues.
Bridie S. · IT Apprentice · Hospital & Health Care · July 8, 2025
Overall experience with automox is a 9/10. It has made our lives easier as a whole, and has sped up the deployment time of MACs.
Pros: It makes the deployment of MACs easier. We use it as the system of management to deploy patching and the like to MACs
Cons: Sometimes the install script on MAC doesn't properly take so you have to restart the process. Overall it's not bad though, no system is perfect
Christopher N. · Systems Administrator · Computer Software · June 16, 2025
Very good. Their support is responsive and their product is good value for money. I've used other patching and auditing systems in the past and they do one thing only. Automox does all of the essentials and more.
Pros: Easy to use, reliable and trustworthy. You setup your scheduled tasks and you can trust Automox to deliver results with minimal interference.
Cons: Lack of user-installed software scanning. (Software where the uninstall goes into the users registry, not HKLM)
Adrian C. · Head of IT and Security · Information Technology and Services · June 6, 2025
Overall, my experience has been fantastic with Automox. The tool has saved me and my team so much time, and has closed many gaps when it comes to security and compliance. And their support is top notch - they have effectively and efficiently answered any question or issue (we haven't had many issues) when we need it.
Pros: Automox strikes a great balance between power and usability. The two standout features for me are Worklets and Patch Schedules. Worklets make it incredibly easy to automate complex configurations and remediations across platforms, while Patch Schedules allow precise control over when and how updates are applied—critical for minimizing business disruption. The UI is intuitive, and deployments are typically reliable and fast, even in remote environments.
Cons: This is going to be very nitpicky, as it's hard to say that I DISLIKE any component. My main concern is with some of the reporting metrics—specifically around CVE exposure and time-to-remediate (TTR). For example, a critical vulnerability might show as “80 days exposed” in the dashboard, but that figure reflects the public discovery date, not when it was actually detected on the device. This can make it harder to evaluate internal performance and compliance. I’d also like to see more clarity or filters in vulnerability timelines. Lastly, while not entirely Automox’s fault, getting Apple M-Series devices into a patch-ready state takes extra manual steps, which adds to deployment friction.

Pros: Super easy to use and seems to 'just work'. I was impressed with the cross platform support (Windows, Mac, Linux), and the flexibility in setting up policies. This will aid in our compliance, and save a lot of time.
Cons: I don't have any negative feedback. As always price is a consideration, but this product seems comparable with others on the market.
Dan S. · CEO · Computer Software · May 28, 2025
Very possible, quick deployment, easy to see dashboard and hopefully patching will be thorough and automated.
Pros: Ease of deployment and very nice simple dashboard see all devices and update status. Windows agent is very light and quick to deploy. We have a few Mac and Linux so will be interesting to see how it work.
Cons: Still testing and playing around, remote control is bit still and had issue with connection. Will try again soon.
Hieu L. · Information Systems Manager · Retail · May 13, 2025
Pros: 1) Its a SaaS tool and doesn't require any on-premises set up 2) Creating policies for patching and vulnerability management is easy and super quick 3) In Automox dashboard you can get a high level and quick reference view of the count for the pending patches and devices
Cons: Automox customer support is not 24/7 or 24/5
Rajesh N. · System Administrator · Banking · April 7, 2025
Managing patches across multiple devices of different operating systems, list of inactive, active devices, export reports etc are really some good features which i quite good.
Pros: Choosing the option to schedule the policy run if it misses the timeline. Also, i can export most of the activities as a CSV activity logs, devices list etc
Cons: There is no abort or stop button to forcefully stop a policy when run accidentally. Also, the worklet evaluation and remediation code execution does not print the output of the basic echo statements.

My experience with automox has been good, It helps with my automation tasks other than patching. It has a script catalog which has helped in creating policies and have 100+ scripts created.
Pros: I like that the tool can perform much more than just patching, We can perform installation, automation of daily hardening policies.
Cons: Sometimes the information on the dashboard page doesn't match with the information we extract through API scripts.
Devyani W. · Patch Engineer · Information Services · March 31, 2025
My experience has just been fine, Its good for a star-up company or a small sized company.
Pros: I like the ease of setup for the tool, I initially was not from patching background but the interface is easy to understand and setup.
Cons: We cannot see the install progress in the console, The status shown on device page just shows installing and we cannot see how much the installation has completed or its just stuck.
Prajot W. · Patch Engineer · Information Technology and Services · March 31, 2025
The overall experience of the tool has been good, it's easy to setup and interface is easy to understand.
Pros: The tool automates all the patching tasks after initial set-up, IT Staff can focus on other automation tasks.
Cons: The device gets stuck in pending update state after we push multiple policies on a device to change the state of the device we either need to re-start the device or contact support to clear the state.
Kirti B. · Software Engineer · Information Technology and Services · March 31, 2025
Overall experience has been good. The tool has helped optimizing the patching processes.
Pros: I like the feature of worklet catalog which helps in creating policies to configure devices.
Cons: Processes get stuck in Queue if the device was not online for few days and to clear the status we either have to reinstall the agent service or contact support.
Adesh W. · Associate Engineer · Telecommunications · March 27, 2025
Automox is a innovative solution which enables System administrators/Security Administrators to manage patches and devices very easily.
Pros: It provides easy access to manage roaming devices for system administrators.
Cons: It does not have an option to minimise bandwidth utilisation in Local networks.
Yasriu P. · Lead Engineer - Systems and Security · Information Technology and Services · March 27, 2025
The overall experience of the tool is good, It has helped in optimizing the whole patching process within our organization.
Pros: I like that automox support team respond to my query in detail and on time. Also there are many options on how we create policy in automox based upon our requirements.
Cons: The automox agent does not sync well with the console, It shows incorrect status of the device not always but sometimes.
Adesh W. · IT Analyst · Banking · March 26, 2025
I have used Automox in our organization since 2022
Pros: Ease of Use - Automox is very user-friendly interface, making it easy to manage endpoints without a steep learning curve
Cons: Pricing - The pricing may be higher for smaller businesses or teams with fewer endpoints.
Chamindu P. · Network and Security Engineer · Security and Investigations · March 26, 2025
Support and Service has been excellent. The account management team has also been very engaging to ensure any quesitons or issues are addressed.
Pros: Simplicity and the lightness of the agent
Cons: Lack of expanded reporting. You will most likely have to leverage API to get extract the data you are looking.
Miguel M. · CTO · Information Technology and Services · March 22, 2025
My overall experience has been good, The tool has all the features required to carry daily patching tasks.
Pros: I like the worklet catalog feature of automox, where we can find scripts written by developers this has helped a lot in tool configuration.
Cons: The agent for the tool doesn't work really well, sometimes it shows incorrect status of devices.
Nistha K. · IT Analyst · Banking · March 19, 2025
Automox is the best product to manage patches for windows and 3rd party applications via SAAS solution
Pros: The solution is delivered with fully SAAS, so we do not need any on prem resources to manage the relevant agents
Cons: As this is a cloud solution there can be unavailability's and also the cost is high for a cloud solution.
Haritha W. · Engineer - Network and security · Information Technology and Services · March 18, 2025
