Mailchimp is a marketing platform primarily used by small businesses in marketing and IT services to manage email campaigns and customer outreach. Users value its drag-and-drop editor and real-time analytics for campaign tracking. Its AI growth assistant and mobile layout controls, launched in 2024–2025, enhance usability. However, reviewers consistently cite pricing and limited customization as drawbacks.

My overall experience has been positive. I like the ready made designs for newsletters. I feel it is user friendly.
Pros: I like Mailchimp because I can schedule emails and automations. It is convenient and easy to use. Also, customer support is quick and efficient.
Cons: My least favorite thing about Mailchimp is the free plan is limited. Also, the price increases as your contact list increases.

Overall, my experience with Mailchimp has been positive. It’s a practical, reliable platform that makes campaign management and email communication fairly easy without adding unnecessary complexity. From a SaaS and SDR perspective, it works well for managing campaigns, tracking engagement, and keeping marketing activity connected with broader sales workflows. Ease of use is probably the biggest strength. The platform is easy to pick up, accessible across devices, and doesn’t require extensive training to start getting value from it. I can’t comment too deeply on value for money since I’m not directly involved in the commercial side, and I haven’t needed customer support due to not experiencing any major issues personally. Overall, it’s a solid marketing platform that works well for growing teams wanting something scalable, easy to manage, and reliable day to day.
Pros: $95
Cons: While the interface is generally good, some areas of the UI can start to feel a bit cluttered once campaigns, automations, and audience lists grow over time. Certain settings and workflows can also take a few extra clicks to find compared to newer platforms. List management and audience segmentation can become confusing as the database scales, particularly when multiple teams are working in the platform. There are also some limitations around deeper automation and reporting compared to more enterprise-focused marketing platforms. I haven’t really experienced major bugs or platform issues personally, although some pages and reporting dashboards can occasionally feel a little slow. Customer support isn’t something I can comment too heavily on because I haven’t needed to use it much due to not having any major problems with the platform. Spam filtering and deliverability tools are generally good, but like most email platforms, campaign quality and database hygiene still play a big role in results.

Overall, my experience with Mailchimp has been positive. The platform is easy to use, offers strong email marketing and automation tools, and provides helpful analytics to track campaign performance. It’s a great option for businesses and individuals looking to manage marketing campaigns efficiently without needing advanced technical skills. While pricing can increase as your audience grows and some advanced features require higher-tier plans, the overall functionality and ease of use make it a reliable and effective marketing platform.
Pros: What I liked most about Mailchimp was how easy it is to create and manage email marketing campaigns, even for beginners. The platform offers a user-friendly interface, customizable email templates, and helpful automation tools that make it simple to schedule campaigns and engage with audiences. I also appreciated the detailed analytics and reporting features, which made it easy to track performance and improve future marketing efforts.
Cons: One thing I liked least about Mailchimp was that some advanced features can become expensive as your contact list grows. Certain automation and customization options are limited on lower-tier plans, and the platform can occasionally feel restrictive compared to other email marketing tools. I also found that navigating some settings and audience management features was not always as intuitive as expected

Mostly positive. I've sent several newsletters out and can see what works and what doesn't based on who opened them and when.
Pros: My overall experience with Mailchimp has been a mix of high-level utility and a steep learning curve. While the platform offers powerful data insights and feature-rich tools that have expanded my marketing capabilities, the interface itself feels unintuitive for a casual user.
Cons: It is a robust system, but it definitely requires a significant time investment to master if you don't have a background in professional marketing.

Overall Mailchimp is excellent and easy to implement. It requires very limited knowlege/skillset outside of simply creating content. The templates make for very visually appealing emails that attract the customer's eye.
Pros: MailChimp was very user friendly and created an easy platform to create marketing and sales emails for customers. The templates were easy to use and implement and and the value in terms of cost per email was excellent.
Cons: We had trouble with our emails going to our customer's spam folders. We attempted multiple fixes and still had a lower read rate than we hoped. That is one issue we were never able to figure out.
Krista G. · VP · Construction · May 12, 2026
Mailchimp is our go-to for monthly newsletters to our subscribers. It's easy to use for the most part, and easily accommodates distribution lists and allows for people to opt in or out which is very helpful and reduces admin labor.
Pros: Mailchimp is amazing and so easy for sending out newsletters and regular communication to a larger community. The editing options and readability of the product that is sent out is very high quality and effective.
Cons: It takes a little bit of "playing around" with the features and functions when you first use it, but it is designed for different campaigns and it is successful in that realm.

Overall my experience with Mailchimp has been positive. It is a reliable platform for managing email campaigns, newsletters and customer communication. The interface is user friendly and the reporting tools give useful insights into campaign performance. It works well for both beginners and teams that want an organized email marketing solution.
Pros: What I liked most about Mailchimp is how simple it makes email marketing. The drag and drop editor is easy to use and creating professional looking campaigns does not take much time.I also liked the audience segmentation and analytics features because they help track engagement and improve campaigns easily.
Cons: One thing I did not like is that some useful features are locked behind higher pricing plans. As the contact list grows the pricing can become a bit expensive for small businesses.Sometimes the automation setup also feels slightly confusing for first time users.

Overall it's fine, but I might consider other options in the future. a less expensive one than their first paid tier might be worth it.
Pros: I liked the price and that were functions for the free tier. The ability to make different lists is so helpful in dividing people.
Cons: With the free tier there is no customer support. Literally, they do not allow it. So when it stopped working even though everything was in the correct spot, we were unable to fix it. Had to go to a paid level for them to say, "Oh yeah, that's weird, not sure why that happened, I'll reset it". We had to them to fix their own software glitch.

I've been using mail chimp for about 5 yrs now. I love that it integrates with Quickbooks to connect my customer list and has segmentation options for retargeting.
Pros: I love that mail chimp integrates with my quickbooks account making it streamlined to segment my client databased and retarget them accordingly.
Cons: I think that some of the templates could be more modern some of them feel outdated and limited. I would recommend giving more customization options.

We genuinely enjoy utilizing this interface to put out multiple different email campaigns throughout the year.
Pros: Mailchimp is very friendly whether you’re a beginner or using it more frequently! It is very easy to navigate.
Cons: Keeping track of our unsubscribes or cleaned emails can be a little tricky. Aside from that things are simple!
Kayla Z. · Admin · Non-Profit Organization Management · May 4, 2026
While the staff using notes ease of use the accounting, IT and management noted issues with duplicate billing and support non-responsive to deal with issue.
Pros: Mailchimp is noted as being easy to use by most of my teammates. It is great for beginners with an all in one approach.
Cons: The customer service for Mailchimp was not so great. The accounting also noted you have to closely watch the billing for errors.
Anna H. · litigation consulting · Insurance · May 4, 2026
Pros: We’ve used Mailchimp for a variety of internal and client-facing campaigns, and it’s been reliable overall. The biggest advantage is how easy it is to get campaigns built and out the door quickly without needing a lot of setup. The template builder is straightforward, and segmentation tools are good enough for most standard use cases. It’s easy to manage lists, schedule sends, and track basic performance without digging through a complicated interface. For teams that need something dependable for regular email communication, it covers the basics well and doesn’t require a ton of training to use effectively.
Cons: As needs grow, it can start to feel a bit limiting. More advanced automation and segmentation aren’t as flexible as some other platforms, and you can run into constraints pretty quickly if you’re trying to do more complex campaigns. Pricing can also climb faster than expected as your list grows or as you unlock additional features, which makes it harder to justify at scale. It’s a solid platform for straightforward email marketing, but once you start needing deeper customization or more advanced workflows, it may not keep up as well as some alternatives.

Easy to use features since selecting address book is straightforward and any adjustments are on few windows
Pros: It makes sending out bulk emails very easy as you can easily reach all your contacts with one email and ease of knowing what has gone to clients as you dont have too many messages to sift through
Cons: Spam filtering at times flags critical messages particularly for first contact hence forgetting to check spam may result in loss of business

My overall experience with mailchimp has been good. We've been using it for just over two years now with weekly emails going out twice a week.
Pros: What I like most about Mailchimp is how easy it is to use, the data on the back end, the cost is comparable for what we use it for, and it can easily reach out entire CRM at once.
Cons: What I least like about mailchimp is that I cannot resend email to non-openers if i use the multiple subject line feature.
Krista F. · Operations Manager · Real Estate · April 30, 2026
Overall, the experience with Mailchimp is great. Most of it is simple to use and tries to be as 'touchless' as possible, automating much of the process for contacting clients or potential clients.
Pros: Mailchimp has a lot of options and features that make it easy for marketing to clients in virtually any field. The user interface is simple to use, yet still makes a lot of the process automated.
Cons: The subscription cost isn't horrible, but I do feel like it could be better. It's a little difficult (for me at least) to manage the clients/contacts in the system.
Todd W. · Escrow Manager · Real Estate · April 29, 2026
Mailchimp has been a valuable addition to my website particularly in helping me capture email leads and convert them into sales. The platform makes marketing straightforward and efficient, even for someone without advanced technical skills. In terms of value for money, the paid plan offers strong returns, especially considering the range of tools available for email marketing and automation. I found it to be a worthwhile investment for growing my business. Customer support was also impressive. The team was responsive and helpful, assisting me promptly when I had issues logging into my account. Overall, my experience has been positive across marketing effectiveness, support quality, and overall value.
Pros: Mailchimp stands out for its ease of use and intuitive user interface. Compared to other email marketing tools, the platform is relatively simple to navigate and not overly complicated making it accessible even for beginners. The layout is clean and well-organized, allowing users to quickly find key features such as campaign creation, audience management, and analytics. Overally the user experience is smooth and efficient which makes managing email marketing tasks far less overwhelming.
Cons: What I liked least about mailchimp is that the HTML codes for email capture landing pages can be quite long and a bit overwhelming especially for beginners who may not be familiar with code. Additionally while the platform generally handles spam filtering well, there can still be occasional challenges with emails being flagged or needing extra setup to ensure optimal deliverability.

Pros: It's very easy to use, and has great analytics. Very useful for reviewing marketing decisions and effectiveness.
Cons: It's very expensive for us as a small business. It's hard to justify keeping because of the cost. Otherwise it's a good product
Rachel G. · Finance and business operations manager · Food & Beverages · April 27, 2026
Overall, my experience with Mailchimp has been positive. It’s a very user-friendly platform that makes it easy to create, send, and track email campaigns without needing a lot of technical expertise. The interface is clean, and the drag-and-drop builder saves a lot of time when designing emails. That said, the cost can add up quickly, especially as your audience grows or if you need access to more advanced features. Despite the higher pricing, the convenience, reliability, and range of tools make it a solid choice for businesses looking for an all-in-one email marketing solution.
Pros: Mailchimp stands out for its intuitive, user-friendly interface, making it easy to create and manage email campaigns even without much technical experience. The drag-and-drop email builder is especially helpful, allowing you to design professional-looking emails quickly. I also appreciated the variety of templates and the built-in analytics, which make it simple to track performance and optimize campaigns. While the platform can be quite expensive compared to alternatives, its ease of use and robust features make it a strong choice for businesses looking for a reliable all-in-one email marketing solution.
Cons: What I liked least about Mailchimp is its pricing structure. It can become quite expensive as your contact list grows or if you need access to more advanced features. Some useful tools are locked behind higher-tier plans, which can feel limiting for smaller businesses or those just starting out. Additionally, certain automations and reporting features aren’t as flexible as they could be compared to more specialized platforms.

At my last organization, we were looking for an afforadble email marketing platform that allowed for more customization to support our branding, had more mobile responsiveness, and offered more robust features in terms of marketing capabilities with targeting. It was the perfect solution for us.
Pros: MailChimp has an excellent user interface. It's clean, easy to use, and allows for your emails to look elevated through their native templates. You also have the ability to customize templates, which can help with branding even more. They're all responsive to mobile and look sharp. It's simple to build and maintain a contact list in there, as well, which helps with targeted marketing needs.
Cons: Can't think of anything I really disliked about using MailChimp. It was a perfect system for all my marketing needs.
Valerie C. · Marketing Manager · Entertainment · April 27, 2026
I am a fan. I enjoy the ease of sending out a mass email and having it personalized. I also enjoy the analitics that come with it.
Pros: I like that it saves the email addresses and if people unsubscribe that it remembers it. It has templates and it's easy to replicate an email
Cons: Sometimes it's overwhelming to start new campaigns and it doesn't always feel like it user friendly.
Alison G. · Community Development Pastor · Religious Institutions · April 27, 2026
User-friendly admin and ease of use. I have used other mass email sending platforms before that appear more clunky in the admin dashboard and harder to find settings. Mailchimp admin dashboard is straightforward and very clean.
Pros: The ability to send emails that I can uniquely design to a list of people, the ease and user-friendly interface of Mailchimp admin, and the ability to track individuals' interactions with the email (opening, clicking links, etc.)
Cons: I would prefer to get an email when people unsubscribe to the email list. Most of the people who I've had unsubscribe do so on accident (older generation who are not as tech-savvy). I don't always think to look for un-subscriptions in the email summary and then I go send another email to the same list, so the people who unsubscribed are not included moving forward and it may take me a bit to realize that.
Paula G. · Director · Individual & Family Services · April 25, 2026
I recently started using this program for my new email newsletter, so far it has been a learning experience to navigate the platform but I have been able to send out professional looking newsletters each month to all my subscribers. It's very much a tool I needed for my small business and I'm grateful as well for the affordable pricing.
Pros: I like that it has easy to use templates and that I can save all my information and contacts easily.
Cons: I dislike that the platform itself is not as user friendly as I would like it to be and there are too many options that look too similar within their templates.
Violet B. · Artist Representative · Arts and Crafts · April 24, 2026
so / so but we have outgrown it now and looking to move away and use another platform. We use it to take sample requests and notofy customers when items are back in stock
Pros: Mail chip offers easy to use features and guides you through running email campaigns for new users. It really is a great easy access email platform. Very easy to use.
Cons: In my view Mailchip tries to be all things to all people. As an ecommerce business we need more commercially centred email marketing tools. While Mailchimp has been a good servant to me it is expensive for what it is and a tad big brother telling you what you can and can't do and is overly intrusive regarding its abuse metrics when you are simply sending an email to previous customers about new ranges you are launching.
Robert W. · Head of eCommerce · Furniture · April 23, 2026
Too much going on to be able to have a positive experience using it! I wish there was a simpler more stripped back version.
Pros: It's too big of a beast for what we need! It's got lots of features and lots of reporting that I'm sure is very useful for the right businesses.
Cons: It's too big of a beast for what we need! It's much more suited to a larger business with a bigger budget
