We have had a very positive experience with Marketing Cloud. It is a powerful tool, especially when combined with Salesforce.
Pros: Marketing Cloud integrates well with Salesforce. We schedule and automate communications, deriving the audience from live Salesforce data.
Cons: There is a significant learning curve with Marketing Cloud. The Marketing Cloud user interface seems disjointed.

Overall, Salesforce Marketing Cloud has been a mixed but workable experience — it delivers strong email management and template capabilities with a polished user interface, but the complexity, occasional performance hiccups, and variable customer support mean it takes time and commitment to get real value out of it.
Pros: The platform's email management and template builder are robust, the user interface is generally well-organized, and its integration with the broader Salesforce ecosystem makes it a powerful choice for managing large-scale campaigns and customer data in one place.
Cons: The steep learning curve makes ease of use a challenge for new users, performance and speed can lag during heavy campaigns, customer support response times are inconsistent, and the overall value for money feels high unless you're leveraging the full suite of features.

Marketing Cloud is much more than an email management platform. It is capable of things that were way beyond the scope of my organization's needs. And it was just too expensive to justify renewing our contract when we only used a quarter of its functionality. Larger orgs and multi-brand enterprises are definitely the target market for this tool, not small nonprofits like my employer.
Pros: Salesforce Marketing Cloud is the most powerful marketing automation platform I've used in my ten year career. Its send speed is unmatched, even on multi-step automations across different channels.
Cons: The user interface is pretty awful. It looks like five or six different tools smashed together with one unifying menu bar (because that is what it is). This makes it hard to learn and greatly hampers ease of use for non-technical employees. The syncing with Salesforce Sales Cloud also leaves a lot to be desired. It does a good job of ingesting CRM data, but doesn't round-trip any of the changes made within SFMC to the CRM (i.e. updated contact info).

I recommend Salesforce to anyone. There's also the knowledge base where I can find the information I need for the customers.
Pros: What I like most about Salesforce is how the customer's information populates. I can see all their information.
Cons: Sometimes the costumers profile don't populate so we have create a profile for them. This usually doesn't happen.

I love sales force! To me it has completely eliminated excel spreadsheets. I now 100% keep up with my business in salesforce only!
Pros: As a sales agent sales force provides me a place to easily keep up with my book of business while providing me the tools to retain and grow my business!
Cons: Sales force does great at reminders but I would love to see AI/AI assisted programs being integrated.

My overall experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud is positive and well received by me and my peers.
Pros: What I like most about Salesforce Marketing cloud is it's easy to use layout as well as fast and friendly customer service.
Cons: I cannot think of anything at this time that I dislike about Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Sometimes they are doing system maintenance but that's standard.

I'd been using HubSpot for a while and had been eyeing Salesforce as an alternative. To be honest, I feel like they are quite on par, and as a small business owner you can't really go wrong with either. Salesforce CRM is definitely adequate. Especially the Marketing Cloud for managing email campaigns on customers, which makes things organised and easy to track at a glance and go through analytics. If you were managing things on your own like myself, Salesforce might be too sophisticated for its own good as a start, but something you can start looking into if you were looking to scale or to sell to various markets.
Pros: It is a sophisticated CRM software, and great for managing customer database and workflows, but more feared towards larger enterprises I feel, and not exactly cost-effective for small business owners.
Cons: The steep fee for various subscription tiers, the initial details up was lengthy to set up and I had to really wrap my head around it, felt that it is quite advanced.

Hand on experience leveraging Salesforce Marketing Cloud's Jouney Builder to design and execute personalized, data-driven customer journeys across email, SMS, and other digital channels. My work includes building multi-step, automated campaigns tailored to user behavior and lifecycle stages, optimizing engagement and conversion rates.
Pros: enjoy designing personalized, multi-step campaigns with branching logic and automation. Seamless sync with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and CRM data
Cons: Steep Learning Curve. Many features like Journey Builder or Automation Studio require significant training or technical skill. It's expensive and pricing is opaque, especially when scaling or adding features. Heavy reliance on technical skills.

We have loved using SFMC. If you're already in the Salesforce ecosystem, Marketing Cloud becomes incredibly powerful. It connects sales, service, and commerce data into one cohesive customer experience—reducing silos and improving targeting
Pros: Salesforce Marketing Cloud is a powerhouse for enterprise-level marketing orchestration, offering deep personalization, cross-channel automation, and real-time data activation. While the learning curve and cost may be steep, the ROI and strategic capability make it one of the most comprehensive marketing platforms on the market today.
Cons: It’s an enterprise platform with a learning curve. Setup, data modeling, and integrations may require support from Salesforce partners or internal IT teams. Cost: Pricing is usage- and module-based, and can be high compared to competitors—especially for mid-sized businesses.

Still a great marketing tool as well as a great CRM tool allowing businesses to record and target specific demographics with specific contents
Pros: Very customisable to businesses of varied needs and requirements fostering a more inclusive environment!
Cons: It can become quite technical for some people resulting in creation of multiple duplicates and linking errors.

It has enabled us to go beyond casual campaigns to truly personalized marketing, driving customer engagement and more than doubling our return rates on offers at our primary sales seasons.
Pros: With Salesforce Marketing Cloud, we have a great amount of control over how we engage with our customers everything from personalized email journeys, to even SMS campaigns and social media ads. I especially love the robust segmentation tools we are able to customize promotions for our customers based on how they shop.
Cons: It’s a solid platform, but it’s not easy to navigate. Automating and integrating it with our e-commerce system needed more help from IT and consultants, generating additional setup costs.

Overall...its been pretty great & I recommend utilizing salesforce.
Pros: I like how you can see the date & time as well as how often someone opens an email. Another feature is how you are able to generate standard & custom emails to go out and when they are sent.
Cons: Navigating the system sometimes is a little difficult if you are not familiar with the system.

I have been a Salesforce Marketing Cloud solution engineer for 3 years where I was demoing it to potential customers in order to sell them the product
Pros: - multichannel marketing tool (email, SMS, mobile, ads, social) - dynamic customer journey - one-stop shop for marketers - Einstein AI to provide great recommendations/actions - great insights with Datorama
Cons: - segmentation can be tricky (need to use Salesforce Data Cloud for it) - mobile capabilities could be better
Gabriel A. · Solution Engineer · Information Technology and Services · February 27, 2025
Pros: Easy integration with existing email lists
Cons: The high cost and no automatic way of importing multiple emails per contact
Miriam A. · Researcher · Events Services · February 9, 2025
- Ease of Use: Was the software easy to navigate? - Features: Did it offer useful tools for marketing, like email campaigns or analytics? - Support: How helpful was customer service? - Results: Did it improve your marketing efforts?
Pros: Salesforce Marketing Cloud invites users to share their positive experiences, focusing on its features and benefits in managing marketing efforts, such as email campaigns and customer data analysis.
Cons: 1- The focus is on negative feedback. 2- Users are asked to share specific disadvantages. 3- Feedback aims to improve user experience. 4- Solicitations for critique suggest ongoing product development.

I've used many different marketing automation solutionsbefore, and each have their pro's and con's, but anytime I'm working within a Salesforce environment, Salesforce Marketing Cloud is my goto. While other marketing automation systems offer Salesforce integrations, they're essentially iframed into Salesforce to give the visual impression that they're fully integrated, but once diving into the details, there are inconvenient gaps that open up opportunities for human error and data being out of sync. I have yet to encounter a marketing automation software that integrates as seamlessly as Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
Pros: Extensive features, and seamless integration with Salesforce CRM. No other marketing automation system that I've used works as smoothly with Salesforce CRM as Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
Cons: Price. Salesforce Marketing Cloud isn't exactly cheap.

Our overall experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud has been mixed. While implementation, cost, and learning curve were issues, once we knew what we were doing, we’ve been able to successfully market through multiple channels with one platform, which has been fantastic.
Pros: What I liked most about Salesforce Marketing Cloud is the ability to manage email, social media, and text messaging from one platform.
Cons: What I liked least about Salesforce Marketing Cloud is the complexity of implementation and the steep learning curve

Salesforce marketing cloud is one of the best way to maintain such as a strong relationships with customers and grow your business.
Pros: The system provide many ways to grow the business you have.
Cons: Customisation of emails into customers helps to get a strong relationships reports.

I have enjoyed Salesforce as a way to stay organized with several parts of information within my company and disperse it to other employees easily.
Pros: I enjoy Salesforce as it is a way to stay organized within the company and disperse important information.
Cons: I like lest that at times it can be hard to log in to for employees.
Sarah S. · Assistant Head of Company · Events Services · November 8, 2024
Pros: How easy it is to add new marketing items to it
Cons: I dont dislike anything about it. It is very useful
Cheyenne W. · Management · Apparel & Fashion · November 4, 2024
Literally everything felt ancient and abandoned. It was clunky like 2003 have just called and ask to return it back.
Pros: Being able to set up simple automation rules.
Cons: Engagement Programs. You weren't able to track replies, it didn't allow setting up an email that will be able to receive replies. The email creator was super old-fashioned comparing to way cheaper alternatives where you can easily build emails using drag-n-drop sections.
Matt K. · Direct Marketing Lead · Information Technology and Services · October 26, 2024
It is a great CRM solution and one that we use to manage Customer relationships and worldwide questions received. We are able to automate the process and make following up and answering the questions so much easier. The cost can be high for small businesses but so far we have made it work
Pros: How easy it was to customize it to fit our needs. We were able to automate a whole process and streamline our worflows.
Cons: Cost-- It was getting expensive to add more users and features to our account. With such a large group that needed access we could not justify the cost.
Samantha S. · Program Manager · Events Services · October 3, 2024
very happy with salesforce at this stage
Pros: great software and viable. Is very easy to use and effective
Cons: dont really have a con as yet as only started trialing
