We onboarded with Marketo recently and have been incredibly pleased with the seamless integration! Our sales and marketing team are using it with ease!
Pros: Integrating Marketo to our team was a breeze and the customer support helped make the implementation seamless for everyone!
Cons: Thus far, NO cons! The team has adapted quickly and we're already incorporating the platform into our daily routines.

Pros: Keeps records and distribution lists up to date as you can easily make updates. Allows for easy approvals by other team members
Cons: Hard to navigate, feels repetitive. convoluted ways of filtering distribution lists which leaves open to error.

Overall, Marketo was hands down my FAVORITE Marketing Automation Platform. the versatility and ability to do the same thing 100 ways is both a blessing and a curse; blessing if you create playbooks, curse if everyone does it their own way. Sit down with admins and users and determine major processes, workflows, and master lists together to save a headache later

Pros: I love the way Marketo Engage's file structuring allows for really detailed nomenclature. in addition, the full customizability of leads and their data, fields, and querying off those fields is really great.
Cons: I pretty strongly dislike the "Marketo Logic," where at times logic filters in Marketo do not make sense. It is important to take time to understand how Marketo handles IS, IS NOT, CONTAINS, and NOT CONTAINS to avoid sending mistakes.

Pros: I use Marketo to manage our email campaigns. I really like how organized it is. The system makes it easy to go back and pull data from previous campaigns and run custom reports. It makes it easier to collaborate across teams and I can find data myself without having to ask the campaign manager.
Cons: The UI took some practice to feel comfortable navigating because it has so many options. Once I figured out what was needed for my role it became much easier.

With Marketo Engage, I am able to send targeted content to audiences through lead nurturing tools which help boost sales leading to high ROI.
Pros: Personalizing buyer journey, streamlining marketing strategies and sending outbound targeted marketing emails have been automated by Marketo Engage through workflow automation.
Cons: Even though the user interface for Marketo Engage is dated back and less intuitive and never disappoints since it meets my sales and marketing needs.

I have a positive experience with Marketo Engage and would highly recommend it overall. The ability to analyze data captured by this application is amazing and we were able to capture great insights and pivot accordingly. The app is advanced and can become cumbersome and manual if managed incorrectly by a team, which is something we experienced at first.
Pros: Marketo engage is extremely robust compared to other similar products I’ve used for lead management and marketing automation.
Cons: I will admit it is not for the faint of heart! Teams using Marketo Engage will have the most success with experienced and technical Marketing Ops personnel to onboard the solution and engineer the respective workflows and automation according to their business.

Pros: very usefull for doing engagement campain for social site, email and our website. it is fast and has a fast adoption on our team
Cons: not very compatible with our crm, that is made by a little software house. we had to do some integrations

Overall, i had an amazing experience using this software. 10/10 would recommend!
Pros: I love how it is automated. It really helped with my marketing tasks.
Cons: I feel the interface could be laid out in a more friendly manner. Other than that, flawless.
Isaac A. · Lead Generator · Health, Wellness and Fitness · May 5, 2025
It’s allowed us to scale our client visits much more efficiently thanks to automatically-followups and content personalization, which has resulted in higher engagement rates without having to stretch out our small team.
Pros: We were able to create far more intricate email campaigns with Marketo Engage letting us automate several steps we would otherwise have to conduct manually. I love the lead scoring and audience segmentation features, it help us make sure that we’re targeting the right people at the right time which is very important for a small marketing team like ours.
Cons: It’s also not the most beginner-friendly platform. The process of establishing smart campaigns and integrations took longer than I had anticipated, and it’s almost necessary to have someone who has a technical background or extra training to make full use of it.

Pros: I like that it's an adobe product, and I like the tracking features and the UTMs
Cons: The UX is terrible, and the email design is extremely inflexible
Ellie S. · Senior Marketing Campaigns Lead · Education Management · April 16, 2025
Pros: Marketo Engage facilitates robust marketing automation capabilities which help boost sales and in long run leads to high ROI.
Cons: Ever since I incorporated Marketo Engage, I have never come across bugs when creating, customizing and sending outbound marketing emails.

Pros: I use Marketo Engage in the pharmaceutical industry, and I appreciate how it streamlines compliance-heavy marketing. The lead scoring and segmentation help us engage HCPs effectively, while CRM integration improves sales follow-ups. Plus, the analytics tools are essential for measuring success in a regulated environment.
Cons: One challenge with Marketo Engage in the pharmaceutical industry is that compliance-driven customization can be complex. Setting up workflows for regulatory approval takes time, and the learning curve is steep. Also, reporting could be more intuitive, especially when tracking multi-channel engagement.

Adobe Marketo Engage stands out for its seamless integration with other Adobe tools, such as Adobe Target, providing a unified experience across digital touchpoints. Additionally, its advanced reporting capabilities help marketers evaluate campaign performance and make informed decisions based on data.
Pros: Being familiar with the adobe layout I found it easy to use and very user friendly .
Cons: I think if you are not familiar with the adobe layout one might struggle a little bit
Yolandi E. · Manager · Marketing and Advertising · March 22, 2025
Generally a good experience overall and I would recommend this to others within our division
Pros: Great way to do lead generation for our sales colleagues across subscriptions and sponsorship
Cons: It does take some time to set up programmes and its important to agree with sales upfront what their expectations are
Steven B. · Marketing Director · Media Production · March 14, 2025
Overall, my experience was poor...though there were a few highlights along the way. Again, the segmentation and workflow actioning that it provides are very powerful. But you're cowed in by a labyrinth of folders and redundant workflow rules that make it very hard to remain nimble once you've built the whole system out.
Pros: Powerful workflows, particularly when attached to lead nurturing email campaigns. If your team keeps a very clean Salesforce or CRM instance, there's an awful lot you can segment and action off of.
Cons: If something is broken in the product, you'd better have a PhD in Marketo in order to track down exactly what it is. The product's usability and assorted tooltips leave a lot to be desired. This is why 95% of Marketo customers have to hire a full-time administrator to wield it. You either know how to use it from deep years of experience, or you're going to have to spend a lot of time figuring it out.

Pros: It's fine but not as powerful as other tools in the space
Cons: It was a bit clunky to build from templates
Xavier C. · Founder · Food & Beverages · January 6, 2025
Marketo personalized my consumer experiences, marketing planning, and advertising, and had helpful information for improved decision-making for my online store.
Pros: helps assist companies in understanding interactions with customers and growing marketing strategies.
Cons: The steep learning curve of Marketo Engage is one of its drawbacks. For new users, the platform's variety of features and possibilities may be overwhelming. It takes a lot of time and work to fully understand and make use of its advanced features.
Heather T. · Owner and operator · Consumer Goods · December 10, 2024
Overall, Marketo Engage is a robust tool for marketers, and while it offers great design-focused features for email campaigns, it can be complicated for graphic designers who prefer simpler, more intuitive platforms. It's ideal for designers working in larger marketing teams but might be too complex for those looking for a more straightforward design tool.
Pros: Marketo Engage offers powerful email marketing and automation tools, allowing graphic designers to create and manage visually appealing email campaigns with ease. The platform’s seamless integration with design assets and its ability to track campaign performance makes it ideal for creating targeted, visually engaging content.
Cons: It can feel overwhelming for designers who are not focused on marketing, as it requires dealing with complex workflows, data, and integrations, which can detract from the creative process. Its interface can also be difficult to navigate, especially for those unfamiliar with its marketing-centric tools.

I've used this program to provide visual analytics regarding our marketing in sales agendas in organization.
Pros: Allowed us to create a really good visual of both are marketing and sales analytics and how they could align together in terms of numbers and expectations. It really brought some valuable insights to our team when we were using it.
Cons: If you don't have all your resources and all your data in an easy and accessible location to bring into the program it will be difficult to set up in the beginning.

1. Onboarding was not great. After so many months we are still struggling to finalize integration. 2. Customer success rep has no idea how Marketo works, doesn't have access to the platform, cannot truly advise, assess our needs and determine the best course of action. 3. To access consulting, we already paid for it as part of our contract, it takes more than 10 days. 4. Training is very long and not that helpful. 5. Invoices were sent to the wrong email address 6. Account manager seems rather detached, disinterested. I don't see that Marketo cares about its clients. We used Silverpop, Eloqua and lately Pardot (Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement). We had much better experience. We switched to Marketo just because Pardot was requiring now also Salesforce license for users and their admin and testing features are really basic. We hoped Marketo will be an upgrade, but it doesn't seem so.
Pros: Admin: ability to limit the number of emails received by a contact within a defined time period; subject line tests; flows can provide some flexibility but only limited; Frankly, we regret the move. Not what we expected from Adobe. Our experience with other products was much better.
Cons: Customer success doesn't use the platform, how they can ensure our success then? Outdated interface, inflexible platform, too complex to be useful when we are asked to do more with less resources. Integration with Salesforce cannot be tailored from the platform (how the data flows or which records to be updated) - competitors offer this for so many years.

Adobe Marketo Engage provides a robust marketing automation platform that excels in dynamic customer segmentation, personalized communications, and real-time analytics, enabling marketers to create highly engaging and effective campaigns. Its user-friendly interface and comprehensive support make it accessible, though its high cost and complexity can be challenging, especially for smaller businesses or those new to marketing automation. Despite some limitations in customization and integration, its scalability and powerful features make it a valuable tool for businesses aiming to enhance their marketing efforts through advanced personalization and data-driven optimization.
Pros: Dynamic segmentation and tailored communications enhance engagement. Immediate performance metrics for optimizing campaigns on the fly. Effective management of email campaigns and multi-channel integration. Suitable for businesses of all sizes with extensive integration options. Intuitive design with extensive training and support resources.
Cons: High price point with potential additional costs for advanced features. Steep learning curve and time-consuming implementation. Requires technical expertise and can present integration challenges. Some limitations in template options and feature flexibility. Variable quality and response times in customer support.
