I chose Apollo as my main **contact data source** after comparing it with ZoomInfo, Hunter.io, RocketReach, and Seamless. For my startup use case, it gives the best tradeoff between database quality, coverage, and cost. I still verify key contacts separately, but Apollo is the tool I decided to keep using regularly.
Pros: Apollo.io has been the best balance of database quality and price for my outbound work. I compared it with ZoomInfo, RocketReach, Seamless, and Hunter.io, and Apollo gave me enough reliable company and contact data without the enterprise-level pricing of ZoomInfo.
Cons: The data is not perfect, so I still need to verify important contacts and sometimes compare Apollo with other sources. Some emails can bounce or be missing, and the interface can feel a little busy when I only need quick validation. For high-value accounts, I would not use Apollo as the only source of truth.

My overall experience has been positive. It has significantly streamlined our prospecting workflow. While you have to stay organized with your credits to maximize value, the quality and volume of the contact data make it a foundational tool for our sales team.
Pros: I like that Apollo.io scrapes data and identifies potential leads incredibly efficient across multiple databases. Which is extremely useful when you are looking for a prospects and using the filter options which really helps in building a targeted list for outbound campaigns.

Cons: Apollo.io uses a credit-based system can be a bit tricky to manage at first. You have to be careful with how you spend credits, especially on premium data like mobile numbers, so it requires some planning to ensure you don't run out before the end of the month.

Overall, my experience with Apollo.io has been very positive. It has significantly improved my lead generation and outreach efficiency, making it much easier to find, organize, and engage qualified prospects. The AI features, integrations, and automation tools save a lot of time and help me work more strategically. While the pricing and credit usage can feel limiting at scale, the platform still delivers strong value in terms of productivity and results.
Pros: What I love most about Apollo is how intuitive the user interface is. It’s easy to navigate across different sections, and the built-in AI makes the experience even smoother. Being able to input a simple prompt and get highly relevant leads along with the exact information I need saves a lot of time and removes the guesswork from prospecting. The integrations with CRM platforms also make a big difference. It allows me to run outreach and organize my leads in a structured, streamlined way without constantly switching between tools or dealing with messy workflows. Another thing that stands out is the customer support. Whenever I run into questions or need clarity, the support team is responsive and helpful, which makes it easier to keep moving without delays. That kind of reliability matters, especially when you’re using the platform daily. Overall, Apollo doesn’t just make outreach more efficient, it makes the entire process easier to manage and sustain over time.
Cons: Honestly, the two things I don’t really like about Apollo are the credit system for phone numbers and the subscription pricing. The pricing feels quite high, especially when you’re trying to scale outreach. In a situation where you need to pull a large volume of leads, the current plan limit of 30,000 credits can get used up quickly, and with phone numbers costing around 8 credits each, it becomes limiting fast. It doesn’t really support heavy outbound usage at scale.

Very positive, I don't think I've ever had to deal with technical support and the platform fulfill all our needs.
Pros: The is the most efficient lead generation tool that I've used in recent years. It is extremely fast, has a very intuitive interface, and the options available are plentiful.
Cons: The key and only issue with the platform is that after you clean your leads or check off the option the only show verified emails, your total list reduces by like 20%

I like Apollo, it's easy to set up and get started. The UI is intuitive and works very well with SalesNav. I just really find it annoying and tedious having to use credits to find contact info multiple times because of the bug that never goes away.
Pros: I like how the contact information is very accurate, especially compared to other software where I sometimes get irrelevant numbers.
Cons: The software is insanely glitchy. When I use credits to get contact information, I almost always need to refresh on the extension and redo it.

Overall, my experience with Apollo.io has been positive. It’s a powerful tool for finding leads and managing outreach, and it saves a lot of time once you’re familiar with it. While it takes some effort to learn and set up initially, it becomes very efficient for prospecting and sales workflows after that.
Pros: Apollo.io is easy to use and gives good contact data, making prospecting and outreach much faster and more efficient.
Cons: It has a bit of a learning curve at the start, especially with advanced filters and workflows. The UI can feel slightly cluttered, and initial setup takes some time to get right.

Great experience, simple to read instructions, easy set up, seems to have good support. Happy with everything so far.
Pros: Great for our sales team, helps deep diving into discovering leads, connection with Linkedin is great helps with leverage.
Cons: Not had any bad feedback yet. Personally I feel the data enrichment is slightly weaker than some other tools I have used but that's being picky, the sales team seem to like it.
Joe T. · Head of Marketing · Information Technology and Services · March 26, 2026
Overall I love using Apollo as a search enging however they need to work on their credits for contacts model
Pros: I like that I can search for companies and specific roles and titles. This feature makes it more efficient for me to find contacts with the exact rolls I am looking for across different companies without having to visit each company's LinkedIn page individually.
Cons: Their data is somewhat old now compared to a few years back, so they need to improve on the data accuracy of the numbers that they provide for the contacts.
Jerguz A. · Project Manager · Information Services · March 25, 2026
Overall, it’s an efficient platform that helps speed up outbound efforts while keeping lead quality high.
Pros: What I like most about Apollo.io is how powerful and easy it is to use for prospecting and outbound sales. The platform combines a large, accurate database with strong filtering options, which makes it simple to quickly build highly targeted lead lists. I also really value the all-in-one functionality—being able to find contacts, verify emails, and manage outreach in one system saves a lot of time and reduces the need for multiple tools. The Chrome extension is especially useful for quickly pulling verified contact data from LinkedIn in real time, which helps streamline daily prospecting workflows.
Cons: The main downside I’ve noticed with Apollo.io is that while the database is large, data accuracy can sometimes be inconsistent depending on the industry or role. That means you occasionally need to spend extra time verifying contacts or cleaning lists to ensure deliverability. Additionally, with so many features built into one platform, there can be a bit of a learning curve at the beginning, especially for new users who are not familiar with outbound tools.
Shasta W. · Director of Sales Support · Construction · March 19, 2026
Pros: I like that you can build very specific lead list with minimum effort and the user interface is simple to use. The learning curve is shorter because of all the videos and live help they offer. I think its a great tool for sales management and is definitely a good value for the money! It doesnt take long to get setup and is very secure.
Cons: My biggest dislike or should i say learning curve was all the filters but a quick live meeting answered those questions for me.

Apollo has become very disappointing. Paid plans now give only ~2,500 credits, and even email-only access costs 3–10 credits per contact due to forced waterfall and unlock systems. There is no way to disable this. Email access is slower, more expensive, and unpredictable. The old simple workflow is gone. I’m unsubscribing and would not recommend it anymore.
Pros: In the past, Apollo offered a simple and efficient way to access business emails with predictable pricing and fast exports.
Cons: Unclear pricing, forced waterfall verification, slow email access, and excessive credit consumption even for email-only exports.

Great tool, super helpful to get data on leads/prospects & the free use is amazing for any startups or side hustles.
Pros: Great for getting contact data and managing leads in general. It has always been super useful especially the fact that it gives you emails for free.
Cons: The extension and problems with its data continuity, it was not complaint at some popint and it kind of reduced the platforms efficiency.
Eric N. · BDR · Information Technology and Services · December 15, 2025
We've used Apollo on and off for the last several years as a startup and we think it works well for what we've needed.
Pros: Apollo is easy to use for sales enablement teams, it's a solid resource for sales development representatives.
Cons: The data isn't what it could be in terms of accuracy and reliability. It's always an issue with these platforms.
Lindsey S. · Director of Marketing Operations · Insurance · November 18, 2025
I’m happy with it overall, I’ve been using it for a couple months now and rarely get bounced emails , so the data you scrape is pretty verifiable and legitimate.
Pros: It’s very robust in terms of the different ways to search for people and or companies. It saves time by allowing you to add people to custom lists to export in a format you want such as CSV file.
Cons: The interface can feel a bit overwhelming at first, and I accidentally spent a bunch of time individually selecting people only to click on the wrong “add to list” icon that just added the entire company to my list. Be careful of that FYI.

So far, my experience is very positive. If budget weren't a consideration, this would definitely be a tool I wouldn't mind paying for. I am very impressed by the quality of the webinars and the training videos, Apollo is worth signing up just for them!
Pros: It's a CRM that enriches your searches with actual data and allows you to manage and schedule campaigns. The user interface is simple and intuitive, however the Apollo team organises regular free webinars to assist with onboarding. Setting up the client on your machine is quick and painless. I don't have a paid version, so I cannot discuss value for money, but even the free version with its (few) limitations is extremely useful.
Cons: Nothing specific. Sometimes, structuring a search requires a bit of lateral thinking; the search syntax may not fit everyone's intuition.

I used to create GTM plans for lead generation and prospecting activities, including LinkedIn outreach, cold calling, and email campaigns. I also generated a strong pipeline of leads using databases sourced from Apollo.
Pros: Accuracy of the available database with complete details from email ID, phone number, geography, and designation.
Cons: Nothing much, sometimes the Apollo LinkedIn plugin behaves a little weird. Rest is definitely one of the most affordable database tools I have used after ZoomInfo.
Suvankar R. · Lead generation specialist · Information Technology and Services · September 7, 2025
Pros: Great tool for business development. Easy to use from a user perspective - smooth Chrome extension and integrates seamlessly with our CRM.
Cons: Data quality at times can be hit and miss; emails are naturally 10/10, but anything beyond that is limited.
Dylan M. · CoFounder · Human Resources · September 3, 2025
Its terrible. If it wasn't cheap - this cliient wouldnt use it. They just dont understand thry are getting exactly what they paid for. Apollo is a TERRIBLE crm and its data is meh.
Pros: Apollo is trying really hard to be Hubspot and is failing miserably. I "guess" i liked the auto inset of contact info - but even that is spotty and the UX is terrible.
Cons: EVERYTHING is harder than it needs to be. You cant modify data, you cant add contacts easily. sub accounts are clumsy. When you try to add a contact and there are 3 people named John Smith - do you think it would default to the person who clearly works for that company or would it default to someone in a completely different industry? Guess which one Apollo picks. Oh workflow based on an activity.. yeah - those dont work BUT you have to pay to get them - and then you can't downgrade. When they admit its their problem. they say "we have no idea when or if that will be fixed"
Anonymous User · Head of Sales · Information Technology and Services · September 2, 2025
after sales serives is extremely poor. agents are just passing the query over to another agent over and oaver
Pros: good program bad backend service as they can not fix a problem. the technicaicans have no idea on how to fix a DKIM record that is faulty from their end
Cons: agents can not fix a technical problem. we have been passed from agent to agent and they are requesting the same thing over and over from our end after wehave fixed out records
Anonymous User · Director · Events Services · August 4, 2025
My experience was very bad with Apollo as they came up with a new credit usage system but didn't pass the benefits to us as we were billing annually. Moreover, they charge exorbitant credits for API calls and don't even try to not charge for duplicate data.
Pros: The platform is really great, very easy to navigate and user friendly. Finding data is easy and anyone, literally anyone, can do it.
Cons: The data quality is not that great and somehow they still haven't been able to decide the pricing and credits usage. It's very frustrating to see them change credits usage so often and they don't pass on the benefits of new features and changes to users who have billed annually.

A solid all in one tool at a competitive price point, lots of useful tools all wrapped into an intuitive user face.
Pros: Easy to use tool for business development outreach. All in one tool to locate and reach out to your target market.
Cons: Whilst the database is vast, the reliability of email addresses is the biggest concern with a relatively high bounce rate.
Chris J. · Managing Director · Financial Services · June 23, 2025
Okay initially, for some things easy to use and work, but for more complex tasks we use other tools.
Pros: Ease of setup, FREE initially, quite straightforward to manage, and workflows/linking accounts is straightforward.
Cons: Tech support was not that great when we could not validate our domain. Our Cloudflare setup was correct and working, but would not sync. after 3 weeks, we finally got it working, after insisting Apollo review their settings.
Richard R. · IT Support Manager · Real Estate · June 16, 2025
Apollo.i has enabled the distributions of messages for our targeted marketing campaigns. The Apollo.io workflows enable the automated nurturing of leads and the ability to track companies and individuals engaging with content and the corporate website enables lead scoring.
Pros: The ability to define ideal customer profiles based on metrics (company size, company revenue, geographic location, industry) and quickly create targeted campaigns and workflows.
Cons: The platform is extremely powerful and there is a slight learning curve to understand the dependencies and requirement to setup workflows and campaigns. However, this is a one-time ramp up challenge that is quickly overcome.
Shane S. · CEO · Information Technology and Services · June 12, 2025
Pros: Great to find leads and launch sequences fast. I like filters, they help when you want very specific profiles.
Cons: Issue is the inbox. It doesn’t always sync well. Had cases where sent messages didn’t appear, and had to double check outside.
Jon S. · Sales Manager · Telecommunications · May 22, 2025
Overall, Apollo is a highly intuitive and easy-to-use platform. The LinkedIn extension really makes it easy to find relevant information quickly.
Pros: I mostly use Apollo to enrich the lead information and create the lists for different campaigns with relevant data.
Cons: I have found that in a few cases, the people are no longer with the company.
